Another daily update? Only here, in LanceSennin's stories! Last chapter was focused on two girls, as well as their building 'rivalry' of sorts with one another, which is more fluffy than full of drama, if I say so myself. Those two are honestly the most normal people in the race for Fuutarou's heart, so it's obvious that there's not gonna be much beef between them. As far as I'm concerned, their little 'fight' last chapter was just harmless banter. Will it stay that way for long though? Anyway, let's not waste any more time and hop straight into this chapter!

Itsuki Nakano stood outside of the Uesugi residence or to be more precise, apartment, feeling the cold breeze passing brought by the night sky. The sun was already down about an hour ago and the moon was visible up above, showing that the red-haired girl and her sister haven't gone home yet.

The main reason for that was related to what she was doing at the moment, standing near the door to the house with her phone pressed to her ear. Itsuki went on ahead and dialed up the number of one of her sisters, not wanting to commit the same mistake she did a few days ago. Who knows what might happen if they try testing the patience of a certain quint with butterfly ribbons on her hair once again? Definitely not doing such a thing like that! As she explained a few things, the reaction from the other line was almost instant that Itsuki had to move her phone away from her ear when she heard her sister's voice.

"What?! You're having dinner at Fu—U-Uesugi's home?! I already cooked something for all of us!" Nino's voice rang out, showing her displeasure for her two sisters having dinner at someone else's home, just when she already prepared something to eat for all five of them.

However, Nino didn't sound like she was going to go ballistic at any moment, possibly because at the very least, her sisters were still at Fuutarou's house and not anywhere else. Good thing that their tutor was still with them, and they weren't at another person's house or anything, because that would have been a lot worse. However, there was no way she would tell Itsuki that she felt relieved all of a sudden. Still though, couldn't they have sent a message or called way earlier? She wouldn't have had to cook dinner for the five of them if that was the case!

Oh yeah, and she almost blurted out the nickname that she made for him into Itsuki's ear. Phew, good thing she managed to stop herself in time…

"W-We couldn't possibly refuse! Uesugi-kun's father insisted that we stay for dinner at least. He also told Raiha-chan before we even arrived here about inviting us to eat with them… it would be wasting their good hospitality if we leave now..." Itsuki apologized, feeling guilty of food getting wasted back home, no matter how small it was.

Good, Itsuki didn't notice the mistake she almost made. She was safe from her younger sister's questioning, and now Nino can safely turn her attention to a certain person that Itsuki mentioned just now.

"'Raiha-chan'? That Uesugi's sister or something?" she asked.

"Yes, it's his sister," Itsuki affirmed, before letting out a deep sigh. She still felt guilty that her sisters were waiting for them to return, as well as the fact that there would be leftovers from dinner because of their missing presence. Well, at least it could have been worse? It's not like the food that won't get to be eaten tonight will immediately get spoiled, but it didn't help out Itsuki and her guilt one bit. "Nino, we're sorry for not being able to join the three of you for dinner. We really are. You can scold us all you want later on when we get home."

Nino groaned, having enough of her sister drowning herself in her own guilt. It could get annoying sometimes, especially when Itsuki takes various things out of proportion. "Fine, fine, I get it! You two can go have dinner there, we'll just eat here by ourselves. But the leftovers from tonight will be for breakfast tomorrow got it?! I don't want to hear any complaints from you about that!"

The downtrodden look on Itsuki's face quickly turned into a smile, her expression lightening up as soon as food was mentioned in their conversation. This girl and her love for food…

"Deal! Thank you for understanding, Nino!"

Even though she was far away and there was no possible way for them to see one another right now, Itsuki could feel her sister rolling her eyes while giving an exasperated sigh.

"Yeah, yeah, just be careful when you head home! Make sure Uesugi stays with you until Ebata-san is there to pick you up!" Nino exclaimed, giving her sister a few more reminders before they end their little call.

"Don't worry, Nino. Uesugi-kun won't let us go out at night on our own, not that we plan to do so in a place like this. We'll see you and the other girls later!" Itsuki replied, unaware of the fact that Nino was basically telling her to keep Fuutarou by their side until their butler picks them up from the station.

"See ya and next time, call us immediately when these kinds of things happen!"

With that, Nino ended the call between them and Itsuki quickly placed her phone back into her pocket while releasing a sigh of relief. Well, that went better than what she honestly expected. Her sister didn't really lash out at her but sounded really pissed, most likely because a large portion of their dinner back home will be leftovers…

Oh, the poor food…

Anyway, now that this issue was out of the way, the youngest Nakano quintuplet made her way back to the house. Closing the door behind her, Itsuki sat down between Raiha and Fuutarou by the table where four different saucers and bowls were already set with servings of rice for each. On the young man's other side was Yotsuba and beside her was Isanari himself who had a wide grin on his face, which was a sign of him enjoying this situation.

"Well, now that the girl of the hour is finally here, let's not waste any time and dive straight in! But before that, you know the rules around here, right?" Isanari spoke, just as Raiha removed the lid from the pot of hot curry.

"Itadakimasu!" Everyone said at the same time, bringing their hands together for the phrase of thanks before eating.

With that, everyone took turns in pouring curry into their plate of rice for an equal share. Of course, Itsuki was the first to do so out of excitement at being able to taste Raiha's cooking, but became hesitant right when she was about to grab the ladle. This wasn't her house, wouldn't it be wrong to not let the people living here get their share first? However, Isanari simply gave her a wave of his hand, letting the girl go first without complaints. Itsuki was overjoyed with this and poured the steaming curry into her plate, before everyone else followed suit.

The first few minutes of eating were completely quiet, save for Itsuki and Yotsuba praising Raiha for the delicious meal she made, much to the younger girl's embarrassment. Isanari was surprisingly quiet as well, only sending Fuutarou a nudge of his head as if he was trying to tell his son to 'do something'.

Fuutarou could only deadpan, indirectly asking if his father was serious. He can't be, because what exactly can he do while they were eating dinner? Unfortunately for him, Isanari's only response was to slam his fist into his own chest while smiling like a guy in love, leaving the young man confused on what that meant.

Letting out a sigh of defeat, he turned towards Itsuki and began to speak. "Did you manage to talk with your sisters?" Fuutarou asked, knowing that the reason why Itsuki went outside was to tell her family about her and Yotsuba spending dinner in his home.

His father wanted him to do something? He'll just talk, that's it. Nothing more. Screw that guy for ruining his tutoring session earlier.

Itsuki quickly turned to look at her tutor, hearing his voice before nodding. "Yes. Although I only got to speak with Nino, I'm sure that she shares the same sentiment with our other sisters."

"What did Nino say, Itsuki?" Yotsuba asked out of curiosity, continuing the conversation which made Fuutarou sigh in relief.

He won't need to do this all by himself then.

"Well, she didn't really disapprove of us eating dinner in Uesugi-kun's home, but she was mad that we didn't choose to inform them beforehand about having dinner here," Itsuki explained while lowering her head in shame, with Yotsuba and her somehow-sentient ribbon doing the same.

"Hey, don't blame yourselves for that, you two," Isanari's voice cut through, gaining their attention as he shrugged his shoulders. "If anything, it was my fault. I was kinda late in breaking the news to you that we want the both of you to join us for dinner."

This got his son to pause in eating, looking up to meet his father's gaze with a hint of suspicion in his eyes. It was only after their tutoring session that Isanari invited them to dinner and if his father said 'he was late', it could only mean that he was going to tell them about it while they were still studying! What could have stopped his old man then?

It wasn't like he's going to kick out Isanari for inviting his students to have dinner here, as long as he didn't make any unnecessary quips about various things.

Nope, definitely not... he knew better than that…

"What do you mean, 'kinda'? Was there something stopping you from telling us earlier?" Fuutarou asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

"Eh, I saw those two fighting over you for some reason when I was about to walk in here," Isanari gestured at both Yotsuba and Itsuki with a teasing grin, causing them to blanch while Fuutarou was already panicking internally.

Oh no… his old man saw that?! Shit! Not good! Gotta figure out how to defuse the bomb before it blows up! This was worse than when his father caused his two students to feel distracted all throughout their tutoring session! Isanari simply had a habit of being unable to keep his mouth shut when the time called for it, which Fuutarou couldn't stand one bit and always felt annoyed by it. Raiha was here with them too, damn it! She's still too young for this kind of thing! He had to stop this before Isanari says something… inappropriate.

Isanari crossed his arms and sent a smug look at his son that somehow also showed how proud he was as a father. "You're lucky bastard, kiddo. Two beautiful ladies fighting for your heart? Well, you did inherit my good looks, so I suppose it was gonna happen eventually, even if you're too much of a loner these days…"

"W-What…?!"

"Ehehehe…"

Itsuki let out a little squeak in panic while Yotsuba laughed both nervously and out of embarrassment. Welp, they got seen 'fighting' over Fuutarou earlier by none other than his father, there's nothing else that can possibly make this more embarrassing than it already was. Both girls turned bright red in their places that they couldn't move a muscle, while Fuutarou was starting to clench his fists in frustration.

"Pops… you better shut your mouth…"

"Dad, what were Itsuki-san and Yotsuba-san fighting Onii-chan for? He didn't steal anything from them, did he?" Raiha asked innocently, chewing on a spoonful of rice with curry.

Isanari shook his head slowly in amusement. "Ah, Raiha… you're still too young to understand this sort of thing, but fine. I'm going to be blunt about it. These two lovely girls sitting beside your brother were fighting over his attention earlier while he just sat in his place, doing nothing. They were even pulling on each of his arms which only showed how serious they were! I remember their mother doing something like that for Maruo back then…"

"Wow…" Raiha's eyes grew wide in wonder, before a bright smile made its way to her face. "So… does this mean Onii-chan will marry them, and Itsuki-san and Yotsuba-san will be my sisters in the future?!"

The man crossed his arms and grinned smugly, liking the plan that his daughter laid out for him. "Well, polygamy is not entirely illegal and with some money, I'm sure your brother can work his way around the system to take both of them as his wives! Heck, why not include their three other sisters too? And then once Fuutarou marries them, maybe our family will have our own quint—!"

Any chance of Isanari continuing in his words was immediately stopped by Fuutarou, who stood up and summoned a giant wooden mallet out of nowhere, before slamming it down on his father's head using both hands.

"WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE!"

Fuutarou roared, a tick mark appearing on his head as a sign of his complete and utter annoyance. This action quickly caused his students to panic even more as they rose to their feet and attempted to calm him down with both their words and actions. Yotsuba grabbed his arms gently and pulled them back, while Itsuki patted his shoulder and slowly tried to make her tutor sit back down.

"Woah, Uesugi-san, put down the mallet!"

"C-Calm down, Uesugi-kun! There's no need to do something like this…!"

The top of Isanari's head was left smoking afterwards, before a giant lump appeared on the part where the mallet hit him. Raiha looked at her brother in confusion for a moment, wondering what did he do that for, before turning her attention to their father, who had his head down as if he was knocked out.

"Dad, are you okay…?"

Isanari looked up immediately, as though he wasn't just bonked on the head by a giant mallet a few seconds ago. However, the lump that was created on his head was still visible to everyone around.

"Yep, I'm good! No need to worry, heh… I suppose I was getting a bit carried away for a moment there, so let's just change the topic. Sorry Raiha, you are way too young to know about these things."

"It's alright," Raiha smiled, thinking nothing of it before looking up with her eyes shining dreamily. "I just want to imagine what it would be like to have Itsuki-san and Yotsuba-san as my sisters!"

The young girl's words caused Isanari to smile nervously, while Fuutarou was sending his father a dangerous look as if he was daring the older man to continue speaking. On the other hand, Itsuki and Yotsuba wanted nothing more than to run away and hide their red faces from everyone else out of extreme embarrassment.

Yeah, it's definitely time to change the damn topic. So stupid...

Spending dinner with the family of the boy you like is hard... but I'm sure Itsuki and Yotsuba can handle it! We got more of Isanari teasing his future daughter-in-laws, which is pretty fun to write, ngl. Fuutarou is, of course, annoyed from his dad's actions so it's not surprising to see him punishing Isanari with a bonk to the head. Raiha is Raiha, as always and will never change. But not only that, it looks like Isanari is once again treating us with a snippet of what Maruo and Rena were like in the past. This is shaping up to be more interesting, don't you think? Looks like the continuation of this special dinner talk is gonna take place next chapter, so I'll see you in the next 24 hours. Peace out!

Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
