Yeah, it's gonna be an early update today, ladies and gentlemen! I'll be going out later on, which means I won't be able to update at my usual time so I figured to just release the chapter now. Tomorrow, it'll be back to the same schedule, though. With that being said, thank you so much for your continued support, everyone! WE HAVE NOW SURPASSED 300 FOLLOWERS AND IT'S JUST CONTINUING TO GROW! I can't thank you enough for that. With Season 2 of the anime ending recently, hopefully we get more writers and readers into this archive and keep it alive. Please don't hesitate to add this story to your faves/follows if you want to see more fluff and always tune in everyday for a brand new chapter!
Last chapter was quite a ride, with the aftermath of Yotsuba's kiss and how Fuutarou and Itsuki reacted to it. Somehow, Fuutarou remembers the five girls he met in Kyoto and he connects the dots to figure out that the Nakano quintuplets were the 'Renas' who introduced themselves to him five years ago. It then ended with Itsuki and Yotsuba talking about that sudden kiss, culminating in a big cliffhanger that no knows what Yotsuba's answer is, except for me. What's gonna happen next? Let's find out!

"Tadaima!"
Ichika, Nino, and Miku all turned their heads towards the door when they heard their sisters' voices and there they were, entering the penthouse with smiles on their faces. They were all sitting on the couch, watching a romance drama on the television. Well, Nino and Ichika, at least. Miku was perfectly comfortable in her own little world, playing games on her phone.
"Welcome back," Miku spoke, giving her sisters a small nod before focusing on her phone again.
Nino sent them a frown, folding her arms. It was obvious that she wasn't pleased with them arriving only now. "About damn time you two got home! I was starting to get worried!" she scolded.
A look of amusement appeared on Ichika's face, turning towards their two sisters. From her expression alone, it was clear that she had other thoughts in mind aside from greeting Yotsuba and Itsuki.
"Welcome home, you two. Did you have fun eating dinner with Uesugi-kun's family?"
"You could say that we had an enjoyable time," Itsuki nodded, a small smile visible on her features.
Yotsuba showed a lot more eagerness than her younger sister, punching the air with her fist. "Yep! We had lots of fun! We talked about so many things while we were there!"
This quickly caused Itsuki to don a look of panic, waving her hands in front of the ribbon-wearing girl in a frantic manner. "Yotsuba, stay quiet! You're going to ruin the surprise!"
Yotsuba blinked, before smiling in embarrassment. "Oops…"
"Surprise? Now this has gotten interesting…" Ichika looked surprised for a moment, before she stood up and walked towards her sisters. Her amused expression became more evident and turned into a teasing smile, before looking at the youngest among them. "Did something happen, Itsuki-chan? Maybe it has something to do with your feelings for a certain tutor~? Did you finally confess to him?"
"N-No, it's not that, I… we'll tell you all about it in a bit, but we have to ask you girls about something important first," Itsuki blushed furiously, but managed to fight off her flustered state in favor of what they wanted to tell everyone.
"What is it?" Miku asked. Feeling more interested in this conversation, the girl with Audio-Technica headphones stood up from the couch and walked up towards her sisters.
Fuutarou's two students looked at each other for a moment, as if they were having the same thoughts at the moment, before nodding at the same time.
Taking a deep breath, Itsuki was the one who spoke first. "Yotsuba and I have decided to hold our tutoring sessions with Uesugi-kun here in our home from now on. We believe it would make our sessions more productive and we would be able to accomplish a lot more in our given time with our tutor. Furthermore, not only would it be beneficial in saving our energy, but Uesugi-kun's as well."
"Explain," Nino said in a serious tone whilst her arms were crossed below chest, joining her sisters in what seemed to be like a family conversation.
"Uesugi-san's been working hard since last week to take Itsuki to his house then to the station, then he'll walk back home all in one day. He must be so tired whenever he goes to sleep…" Yotsuba continued her sister's words, before pointing to herself. Her voice was oozing with determination, showing her resolve for the idea that she thought of. "And now, I'm his student too! He'll even be more tired now, because he has to teach me and Itsuki at the same time! But I don't want that to happen, so we decided to help him out any way we can!"
Ichika nodded slowly, understanding what they wanted to say so far. "I see, and you want to help him by bringing him here instead of going to his house everyday?"
"We talked about it with Uesugi-kun earlier and he was accepting of the idea, but he will only fully agree to it if it's fine with all of you. Basically, he is asking for your permission to let him enter our home," Itsuki said in conclusion regarding the basic things about their plan, before letting out a groan. "He also said that if you choose to not let us hold our study sessions here, it's fine and that we will simply continue on with our current arrangement in his home."
Miku seemed unaffected upon knowing this, as though she had no interest at all and was just listening for the sake of her sisters. Nino retained her serious look, looking like she was thinking hard about this but in reality, there was something different occupying her mind. The only one who spoke in response to Itsuki and Yotsuba's idea was Ichika, who was the best possible person to give an opinion about it.
"Hm, I suppose this just makes Itsuki-chan's crush a more interesting guy than we thought," Ichika said, rubbing her chin in deep thought while unconsciously teasing her sister. It's like she was doing it on instinct by now. "It's either he's really respectful or he's just aware of his limits and he knows that he can't just enter a house without everyone's permission."
Itsuki sighed, massaging her forehead. She didn't even blush from her sister's words because she was completely focused on the current situation. "Ichika, can we please stop the teasing and simply focus on the matter at hand?"
"Oh, I know, I know…" Ichika waved off her sister's concerns, before putting a hand on her cheek with a smile. "I just can't pass up the opportunity to tease you, Itsuki-chan!"
The youngest quintuplet sighed and shook her head, not even having the energy to utter a response. It would only give Ichika more teasing material to use against her…
Yotsuba chuckled nervously at their exchange for a few moments, before proceeding to continue with their original conversation. "So, what do you guys say?" she asked, turning towards Nino and Miku instead.
Before the two could say anything, Ichika's demeanor finally turned more serious which was fitting for their discussion. "Well, let's ask the two of you first. After all, we're family and your decisions are just as important as ours. Do you think it's okay if we let Uesugi-kun into our home to tutor the both of you?"
The two youngest of the quints were slightly confused with this, wondering what was the purpose of them being asked with this question, when it was supposed to be the other way. Regardless, Ichika did make a good point about them being on equal grounds with everyone else regarding the decisions they make as a family, so she was likely doing this to ensure that there wouldn't be an unfair judgement.
Itsuki spoke first, flashing a more serious look that showed she wasn't going to back down. "I believe it is acceptable to do such a thing, otherwise I would not have told you all about this. Uesugi-kun is someone that I trust, and all of us except for Ichika and Miku have met him already."
"Hm!" Yotsuba nodded happily. "Uesugi-san is a good person, and I don't want him to get tired all the time from teaching us and walking everywhere! He won't be too tired if he's tutoring us here and he won't need to walk with us when we go home because we're already here!"
"I see you two are already eager to invite him here. Are you sure nothing interesting happened while having dinner with Uesugi-kun~?"
Itsuki sighed, getting tired of her sister's antics tonight. Seriously, they just came from a tutoring session, an interesting talk with Fuutarou's father, then the journey back home. She wasn't in the mood for any of this. On the other hand, Yotsuba had a small blush on her cheeks out of embarrassment, which was surprising since she wasn't like this earlier. Luckily, nobody saw her flustered expression, and the girl was able to calm herself before it could be noticed.
"I'm just playing around, don't worry…" Ichika laughed nervously, internally deciding that that would be the last time she's teasing them until this conversation is over. "Alright, since you two have given your answer, let's move —"
"Let him do his tutoring here, I don't care," Nino cut their eldest sister off before she could even finish in her statement, before turning around as she began to walk away.
That… was an anticlimactic answer.
The others looked on in clear surprise at Nino's nonchalant answer, especially Fuutarou's two students. Was she just waiting for someone to ask for her opinion and she knew what to answer when the moment came? Or did she make up her mind while Itsuki and Yotsuba were explaining everything? Perhaps she simply didn't care if Fuutarou came over to tutor her sisters? Well, whatever it is, the same thought on everyone else's minds right now.
Nino's nonchalant behavior had something to do with Fuutarou Uesugi.
"Well, that was quick... I guess that means I'm wrong in my assumptions…" Ichika hummed a confused sound, doing a thinking pose to try and figure out if Nino had something on her mind.
Nino turned around, sending a sharp look at Ichika as though she said something wrong. "Haahh? Do you still think I hate that guy or something?"
Ichika remained calm even with the pressure of Nino's gaze on her, as she shook her head slowly. "No, no, that's not what I wanted to say. I meant that I was somehow expecting you to agree to it since you've made up with him, but I'm surprised to see you agreeing right away. Is there any reason behind that?"
"Itsuki already said it, didn't she? It's just Uesugi, and the three of us already met him. It's not like they're bringing any other guy here, which I would have a problem with," Nino groaned, already getting tired of explaining this over and over. She wasn't angry at Fuutarou anymore and the proof of that was their earlier encounter at school, when she gave him a bento and spent lunch period with him!
Was it that hard to believe that she could get along with a guy?
"It still feels weird not seeing you getting mad because of a boy. A few days ago, you approached that same guy and basically told him to get lost just because he was with Itsuki the day before," Miku commented.
Nino growled at the third quintuplet, feeling that Miku was taking a jab at her short fuse that could be easily triggered by anyone. "Hey, I can change too, you know?! I know when to act responsible while you're just sitting around playing your stupid games, so you're not in any place to talk, Miku."
"I still get higher grades than you," Miku fired back.
"Now, now, let's not steer this whole conversation elsewhere…" Ichika went in between the two girls, showing a calm smile as she tried to play the role of peacemaker between them.
Nino only narrowed her eyes at Miku for the next few moments, before willingly backing down. There's no point in continuing to argue with Miku about this. She should be focusing on more important matters right now, like her sudden urge to get a drink.
"In any case, that's what I think about this, so I'm gonna go drink a glass of water. Hopefully, the four of you settle this when I get back, because I want to know about the 'surprise' that Yotsuba and Itsuki were talking about earlier. From the way they're hiding it, it seems important."
With that, Nino started walking towards the kitchen. Along the way, her serious expression had shifted into one that showed happiness, evident from the smile that appeared on her face. Words cannot describe how happy she was feeling upon knowing that Fuutarou will start coming over to their home! Sure, his reasons for doing so would be to tutor her sisters, but he was still coming over nonetheless! Nino was already formulating a plan, thinking of how she could possibly get his attention without making it obvious in front of either Yotsuba or Itsuki.
It was good that her back was turned on everyone else at the moment, or else they would have noticed her complete 180 in her demeanor, as well as the thoughtful look that replaced her smile.
"If Fuu-kun is here, I can make something delicious for him without attracting attention!" she thought to herself happily, thinking of what she could prepare for him as an afternoon snack or even dinner.
"Well, I guess that's Nino's answer, so I suppose I'll give my own perspective on this matter," Ichika shrugged, thinking nothing more of the second quint's decision as she turned to face her three remaining sisters. "I also don't think there's anything wrong with Uesugi-kun coming over to tutor our sisters. Like what Itsuki said, three of us have already met him and they all trust him to a degree. There's no reason for me not to trust him, so you got my approval in this."
Yotsuba smiled at her answer, while Itsuki nodded happily. "Thank you, Ichika. What about you, Miku?" the girl with star-shaped clips said, before turning towards the last of them.
Miku only shrugged, still looking like she didn't care one bit. Her mindset was simple. Fuutarou Uesugi's presence in their apartment wasn't really going to bother her, unless he did it himself. Besides, once they go home from school, she'll just stay inside her room so she won't distract her sisters from their studying while the same happens for her.
"Go ahead, I'm not stopping you. You trust him, right? That's enough for me. Even if I say I don't want to, it's four against one," she spoke.
"Miku, Uesugi-kun won't agree to our idea unless everyone accepts him coming over to tutor us," Itsuki answered while shaking her head, letting out a sigh to herself. Yotsuba did the same, as her ribbon suddenly looked devoid of life before lowering her head in defeat.
So… it looks like they'll have to continue holding their tutoring sessions in his home…
"I already said it, didn't I? I'm good with it. If you're going to invite him over to teach you two, go ahead. I'll just stay in my room like always so I don't bother you. But don't forget to tell that guy not to bother me in return," Miku explained, which made her intentions a lot clearer.
Feeling a lot more relieved now that she knew what her sister meant, Itsuki let out a deep breath that she was holding in before smiling. "Don't worry, Miku. Uesugi-kun is not that kind of person. He won't do something like that unless you wish to speak with him yourself."
"Yaattttaaaa! We did it! We convinced them!" Yotsuba cheered, already celebrating at their success. "Uesugi-san won't have to tire himself out all the time!"
"Indeed…"
"Oh, come on, Miku. What's wrong with meeting the guy? He's already introduced himself to three of our sisters, so why don't we complete the set? Telling him your name won't take too long, you know?"
Miku sent a bored look at the eldest among them. "Whatever you're planning, please don't involve me in it. You're the one who wants to talk with him, Ichika."
Ichika puffed her cheeks in a pout. "Mou, you're being mean, Miku."
"You want to talk to Uesugi-kun, Ichika?"
Itsuki's voice caused Ichika's eyes to widen in panic, realizing that she had been caught in the act. So much for keeping her plan as a secret from Itsuki…
"Ahaha, yeah…" she laughed nervously, while sending a little frown at Miku for getting her in this situation. "It's nothing serious, though! I just want to get a good look at the guy who's tutoring the two of you and see what he's like! I'll also introduce myself to him so he'll know who I am in person, and not just when you talk about me in front of him. After that, you can have him to yourselves. I'm not going to threaten him or anything, in case you're thinking of that."
"I wasn't thinking about such a thing, but… if you wish to speak with him, then go ahead. Uesugi-kun wouldn't mind sparing a few minutes of his time to introduce himself to you. However, you might want to do it where there's no other students around…" Itsuki stated her feelings regarding the subject, before her voice became a lot more quiet by the end of her words.
"Why?" Ichika asked, genuinely curious on why she would need to do that. Is there any difference in talking to him while alone and having many people around?
"J-Just do it, please…? It would make things easier for the both of you if you did…" Itsuki muttered with a small blush on her cheeks, being aware of the risks that would take place if Ichika talked to their tutor with many students around.
While she didn't really care for the rumors that revolved around her and Fuutarou, she was worried about how her sister would take that knowledge, and she didn't want to know. The only thing she could do was convince her sister not to approach her tutor with many students around and hopefully, Ichika understands. She couldn't bring herself to tell Ichika about the rumor that's currently the hot topic of the school for several weeks at the very least…
…the rumor of her and Fuutarou being in a relationship.
Ichika tilted her head in confusion for a few moments, before shrugging. Oh well, it's not like it interfered with her original goal of talking to him. While it made her curious why Itsuki wanted her to talk with Fuutarou completely alone, she didn't think it was anything important.
"…Well, if that's what Itsuki-chan wants, then okay! I'll talk to him someplace where we can't be seen by anyone else. Sounds good?"
Itsuki let out a massive sigh of relief, feeling that she could breathe freely again. "Oh yes, thank you, Ichika."
"Alright, I'm back. Did you all make a decision yet?" Nino's voice cut through the conversation, as the quint with butterfly ribbons on her hair approached the rest of her sisters with a look of curiosity on her face. It looks like she calmed down after having a glass of water for herself…
"Yeah! Ichika and Miku are also fine with our plan! We can bring Uesugi-kun here tomorrow for some studying!" Yotsuba answered her sister with a big grin, before pumping her arms up and down as if she just won a competition.
"Hmph, figures." Nino crossed her arms and brushed back some of her hair, trying to look haughty for a moment before sending Yotsuba and Itsuki a stern expression. "Now what were you two talking about earlier when you came back? Something about a surprise?"
"Definitely! Oh, we have so much to tell you about everything we learned during dinner earlier!"
Feeling that a huge weight was finally off her chest, Itsuki felt a lot more excited about telling her sisters everything that they learned from Isanari earlier! Not as excited as Yotsuba, but she just couldn't wait to tell them all about their mother and father!
Ichika, feeling that this had something to do with Fuutarou teaching them due to how Itsuki mentioned the word 'learn', looked a bit worried that their sister might engage them in something that they had no interest in. Okay, maybe it had nothing to do with their tutor doing his job, but it's better to be safe than sorry, right?
"Uhm, is this some kind of tutoring session that you two will have where you teach us everything that Uesugi-kun taught you? Ehehe…" she asked, laughing in a tense manner.
"I'll pass," Miku spoke as soon as she heard Ichika's question. They were going to learn? Nope, not gonna risk it! She didn't want to study, and that's that!
Fortunately, Yotsuba was quick to save the whole conversation with her radiating energy. "Nope! It's something even better than that!"
That stopped Miku in her tracks and caused her to glance back, while Ichika widened her eyes a bit in surprise. Okay, Itsuki was someone who thinks that studying is 'fun', but not in Yotsuba's case. If she thinks that this was something 'better than studying'. then it was different. Hm, maybe this was truly interesting, and the bit about 'learning' was just a baseless assumption that Ichika thought of in panic.
Nino, however, didn't really care about whether it had something to do with studying or not. "Alright, alright, just spill it already! What the hell is with the surprise you're talking about?!"
Both Itsuki and Yotsuba turned towards each other, before they smiled at the same time and looked back at everyone else.
"While we were having dinner with Uesugi-kun's family, Yotsuba and I found out that his father was apparently a friend of our parents when they were still teenagers!"
Words alone can't describe the effect that one sentence had on the other girls afterwards.
Well, well, well! You may think that nothing much happened this chapter but this is also a key factor in moving the story forward. Now that all of the Nakano quints have agreed to let Fuutarou hold study sessions in their home, he'll be going there from now on. That should lead to some interesting interactions between him and his soulmates. Not only that, but Nino is planning something, hahahaha. The Nino Train won't stay still for long! Itsuki has also found out about Ichika's intention to talk with Fuutarou and even gives her advice on that. The Ichika meeting is due to happen soon, everyone! Lastly, Itsuki and Yotsuba have now revealed what they learned from Isanari, which will surely blow up next chapter. See ya in 24 hours!
Alright, alright, before you guys kill me for not showing the continuation of the Itsuki-Yotsuba talk, here me out! I'm planning for it to be shown in a future chapter, okay? Now let me be in peace.
Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
