In all honesty, the previous chapter doesn't need a recap because nothing much happened except for the girls knowing more about their parents and Fuutarou having one last meeting with the old man. With that said, let's move on to the chapter!

"That is correct," the old god answered in a stoic voice as he nodded his head to confirm Fuutarou's words. Yeah, the reason was as simple as that, there's no need to make things complicated than they already were…

"I figured as much," Fuutarou spoke, closing his eyes and taking in a deep breath. Okay, so he was right in his suspicion, and now he felt that he could breathe normally after confirming it. However, he still needed the old man for his next words, since this revelation only led to more questions that were beginning to plague his mind. "I also recall you telling me that I originally had one soulmate like everyone else, but you screwed up somewhere and ended up giving me a harem, basically."

"Yes," the old god nodded again.

"Then I'm curious. Who exactly was the soulmate that I was originally supposed to be with before you did the thing? I recall seeing one girl before everything went black and when I woke up, I was surrounded by five of them."

Fuutarou flashed a more serious look, and looked straight into the old man's eyes to show his conviction. In truth, the knowledge of who he met first that fateful day five years ago didn't really matter now when he had five soulmates, but it would be nice to know the identity of the one who helped him get out of his little situation that involved a security guard and a loud girl.

Unfortunately for him, the elderly god looked to the side, humming curiously for a few moments before looking stumped and simply shrugged his shoulders. "I'm not sure. Those five look exactly the same, it could be any one of them."

Wow.

This is the guy who gave him five soulmates?

He should be thankful that the other four whom he shares a bond with were sisters with the first one, because this old man didn't even know the identity of the girl he met back then! The one who saved his ass from that security guard! Was he even a god or something?! He can't even tell the difference between quintuplets!

"You know what? Never mind. It's not even that important," Fuutarou waved the issue off, since it wasn't even connected to the main point of this conversation. He just thought it would be nice to learn the identity of who he first met that day...

Meanwhile, the old god then rubbed his beard with his free hand, thinking of something that Fuutarou said earlier that had a direct connection to the memory of his trip to Kyoto.

"You said everything went black when you saw one of them? It must have been the moment where I gave you your four other soulmates. Your body was likely too weak to handle five happening all at the same time shocks and you fainted because of it."

"I'm not surprised there… I'm sure you were having fun watching anime while I'm being electrocuted to a near-death state. Tell me, did the other girls feel that shock at the same time as me?"

"Yes, they did. If you remember the first time we talked, I said that fortunate people are born with their soulmates bonded to them. However, the mistake that I caused on that day caused it to be rewritten and thus, you received four shocks at the same time from gaining soulmates of the same number."

"If that's the case, then why didn't I feel anything when I met the first Rena? I didn't feel any shock until I saw the rest of them," Fuutarou asked in confusion.

"You two were still children at the time. Your bond as soulmates will not trigger at that young age," the god explained calmly.

Fuutarou rubbed his chin, understanding the logic behind the old man's words. "Hmm, that makes sense. Alright, just to confirm everything, the reason that I ended up having five sisters as my soulmates is because they were the same girls I met back in Kyoto. I was supposed to have only one soulmate at first, but then you 'accidentally' gave me four more. That caused me to faint out of nowhere because of the multiple shocks that I received, with four of the girls feeling the same for each of them. Did I get it all correct?"

The old man nodded. "You did."

He looked down afterwards, taking all of this new information in and slowly coming to terms with it. "I see… this knowledge does enlighten me in some aspects, and now I can fully understand why I have a bond with five girls who all happen to be quintuplets. At the very least, I feel somehow relieved that I have met all of them in the past, even though I knew them by a different name."

"Then I suppose you no longer need my help, seeing as you seem to be faring well in your situation and you're slowly becoming fond of your soulmates, which is a good thing."

Fuutarou sent him a blank look. "Don't talk as if I'm going to thank you for what you did, old man. You're still responsible for making my school life a mess. Dealing with rumors about me on a daily basis is a nightmares, no matter what I say about ignoring them."

"I know," the old god nodded, already aware of how the young man saw him as. "Remember, Fuutarou. Whenever you need my help, you know how to call me and I will be there. Unless, of course, I'm watching anime…"

With that, the old god disappeared into the wind, but Fuutarou didn't care one bit. He was too busy thinking about those five girls that he met in Kyoto five years ago, who were apparently the Nakano quintuplets all along. Now that he thought about it, maybe it really was fate for him and Itsuki to meet that day in the cafeteria, and it wasn't just a coincidence that they did. He didn't really believe in destiny and crap like that, but there's only so much he can deny when a freakin' deity was involved in his romantic life… which all dated back to that day in Kyoto.

It was also that very meeting that would end up changing his life forever and for that reason, he could remember that day like it was yesterday.

~~XoXo~~

"This whole school trip is just so boring…"

Fuutarou Uesugi, clad in a black hoodie and white trousers, ran his hand slowly through his blonde hair while letting out a sigh. To his knowledge, a school trip should be fun for the students involved in it, but taking long walks around grassy fields in various groups wasn't his thing. Listening to the boring tour guides introducing the place also wasn't his thing, because he would rather explore the place and learn about it himself.

He would enjoy it a lot better if he was alone, and he was.

It was pretty easy to break away from the group of students he's supposed to be a part of! Just pretend to be interested in one of the sceneries in this place and while the tour guide and the teachers weren't looking, run for it and never stop until you can find a hiding place.

"I wish time can just pass by a lot quicker…"

He had been walking around the grassy fields of the Kyoto region, particularly the Tenryuji temple, where the school trip was taking place. While he was perfectly fine with being alone, it didn't stop him from getting bored because all he's been doing ever since separating himself from the other students was walk and walk…

His legs were already getting tired, so he should quickly find a place to rest before he collapses on the ground from fatigue. Fortunately for him, there was a nearby bridge that was wide enough to have multiple stone benches on it where he can rest his body.

Yosh, time to get there quick!

The boy sat down on the nearest one, while letting out a huge sigh of relief now that he was able to sit down. Sure, he had nothing to lean against which could possibly lead to him taking a quick nap, but it is what it is. Now he just has to make the most of his situation and get as much rest as he can before leaving.

His eyes darted towards the huge and exotic temple across the lake, the place where his classmates must be at the moment. Good, as long as they're not around, he can continue being on his own without listening to boring tour guides and their endless rambling about this place.

Things for the young man remained quiet for the next few moments, with him enjoying the peaceful atmosphere until it sadly ended after about a full minute of indulging in it. Fuutarou noticed a foreign presence sitting beside him, causing him to turn his head to see who it was.

Hmm, it was just a girl. She looked slightly older than him, so she could be his senior or something. Judging from the distinct appearance of her uniform, she must be someone from a private school, maybe even a school that's only for girls.

Luck must not be on his side today as well, because the moment that the girl turned her head upon feeling that there was something… or someone watching her, she was quickly met by Fuutarou's blank look, the same expression that he would give to everyone else who wasn't his family.

The two continued to stare at one another for a few moments; Fuutarou retained his emotionless look as if it was nothing, while the girl's eyes slowly widened as she got a good look at the boy. From this, it was already obvious what would happen next...

...

...

...

"AAAAHHHHHHH! HENTAI! HENTAI! HENTAAIII!"

...

Yep.

Her shocked look quickly twist into one that showed both disgust and fear, the girl took off from the bench and ran away bursting into tears. Fuutarou's expression didn't change the whole time, looking unaffected at the fact that the girl ran away because of him. Oh well, it's not his problem that she couldn't take the sight of his face.

Hey, why would he be affected in the first place?

He wasn't doing anything to her at all, so that was on her.

"That went well," he commented dryly on what just happened, before turning his attention back to the temple from afar, silently admiring the beauty of the scenery before him. He may not look like it, but Fuutarou can appreciate beauty when the time calls for it.

The beauty of nature, that is.

Fuutarou's peaceful state remained undisturbed for a few minutes and just when it looked like he was about to detach himself from reality, the boy heard a stern voice that most likely belonged to an older man and just from the tone he was using, it could already be determined that the one who approached wasn't going to invite him to a tea party.

"Hey, brat. I heard you've been taking pictures of a girl around here without her permission. Getting too comfy, are we?"

The boy turned around to see who it was, and he wasn't surprised to see that it was one of the security guards that were stationed all over the place.

So, this guy was accusing him of taking pictures of a girl, huh? He must be talking about the one that ran away just after seeing his face as though he was infected with a dangerous virus. Either that girl reported him to this guard, or he was watching from a distance and just jumped to the conclusion that he was taking pictures of someone without permission.

Okay, Fuutarou can easily deal with this situation by saying he didn't have a camera or a phone that will enable him to take photos, then watch in amusement as this man embarrasses himself by searching him and then getting proved wrong. Nah, that would be too easy. Maybe he can expose this guard for who he really is, as well as point out the unfairness that comes with their jobs and watch as he becomes speechless from his explanation.

Why did Fuutarou know this much about policemen and their jobs? Let's just say he had gotten into trouble too many times that he knew how things work by now.

Fuutarou showed no sign of fear as he began to speak in a calm voice. "If I say that I didn't do anything, you'll just accuse me of being a liar and take me away. Meanwhile, if I tell you that I did do something like that, you'll go on ahead and get me to come with you either way. I know how you people work, Officer-san.

The older man was caught off guard with how calm Fuutarou was after getting accused, as well as how he carefully explained the possible scenarios where this could lead to. "Shut up, you brat. A girl came to us earlier and told us about you. If you want to prove you're really innocent, come with us for a little talk."

Fuutarou hid a smirk to himself from seeing this officer covering up for his moment of hesitation. Good, that means he hit the nail right on its head with that explanation he made. Ignorant policemen are just so easy to expose through their lies and abuse of power.

"Hm, I have no problem talking with you, but are you sure she won't run away from seeing me? That's what she did when she sat on the same bench as me," he said in an uninterested tone but got off the bench nonetheless, since he felt that he rested enough for his limbs to be free from the fatigue.

"You keep your mouth shut while we're on the way, you hear me? If you do, I'll even put in a good word for you," the officer warned the boy while pointing a finger towards him, before grabbing Fuutarou's arm and started dragging him away. "Now, come on."

The young man only shook his head, while feeling somewhat pitiful for this man. How many guys has he accused like this? It must be too many to count, because it seemed like this was the first time he got exposed like this in his actions. How sad, he's going to suffer because of his conscience when the time comes…

"Wait! Officer-san!"

The voice of a young girl stopped the guard and by extension, Fuutarou as the older man turned around with an annoyed look on his face. He was clearly not in the mood for any shit.

"What the hell do you want, brat?" he said.

It was at this moment that Fuutarou chose to turn around so he could see who this new presence was, and found himself face-to-face with a girl who was only as tall as him, had beautiful red hair and wore a simple white dress. The young man couldn't help but tilt his head slightly out of confusion, just as the girl began to speak with a worried look on her face.

"Please let him go. He didn't do anything wrong."

Dun, dun, dun! Looks like it's time for flashbacks, and to dig in to what really happened five years ago in Kyoto! This should be an interesting ride, especially for the next batch of chapters! Consider this my way of making up for the boring chapter in the previous one, hehe. Anyway, it looks like he met one of them first in Kyoto, but he says that he met all 5 sisters and Yotsuba said the same. What's gonna happen next? Tune in next time!

Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
