50 CHAPTERS?! I can't believe we've really gotten this far, hehe! I also can't believe I've been updating for 50 days straight, lol. It's crazy to think that I only started this last February. Just to clear things up guys, the reason why this story is very slow is because my limit is 4k words and I don't want to exceed that. Hey, at least, I update daily and not weekly, right? If I updated weekly with these chapter lengths, that would be bad. As always, if you liked this story and want to see more, just add this fic to your list of faves/follows and drop by my usual update time to check out the new chapter. It really helps out a lot, especially in our quest to take this fic to the very top. With that, let's dive into this chapter to find out how the Miku meeting might go! Will it go well or not? Let's go!

The poll for Fuutarou's first kiss is officially over with one quint winning by a landslide amount. Want to find out who? Here's the Discord link: [discord . gg / 4y5QVPj]

Disclaimer: I don't own the Quintessential Quintuplets, or any of its characters...

Fuutarou kept his gaze away from both Miku and Ichika immediately, not wanting to take the risk of the shock happening for the second time today. One was enough for the day, there's no need for another! He'll live to do it another day, but not now! This wasn't like that trip to Kyoto where he met all of them and suffered four consecutive shocks afterwards (which hurts to think about), because they were still children at the time and there was no way for him to be in a relationship with any of them!

That would have been the weirdest shit ever.

Even though more crazy stuff happened to him yesterday, he still felt it would be for the best not to make eye contact with the last of his soulmates. First, he was still shaken from how his first meeting with Ichika went down and second, who knows what could happen after him and Miku experience the shock?! Her other sisters were there with them!

"Come on, Miku, add some life to your words! This is the same guy that Itsuki's been telling us all about. Aren't you at least stoked to finally see him?" Ichika asked, trying to get her sister to show some excitement in finally meeting someone new.

After all, Miku was always silent and kept to herself, even more so than Itsuki. This was the perfect opportunity for her to come out of her shell for once and make a new friend!

Miku continued to stare blankly at Ichika. "I would be if there's an important reason why I'm doing this. I'm just going to tell him my name, and that's it."

Nino shrugged, before giving Ichika a lazy wave of her arm. "Eh, just let her if she doesn't want to, Ichika. Anyway, this is Miku we're talking about here, you know she doesn't like being with other people."

Ichika giggled, before sending a wink at the second quintuplet. "Fufu, that sounds exactly like what Itsuki said when she told us about Fuutarou-kun, remember? That means Miku and Fuutarou-kun can understand each other because they both like to be alone! I'm sure they'll be fast friends if we let them have a few minutes with each other."

"I don't think that's how it works, Ichika…" Itsuki sweat-dropped, remembering the words she said that night.

"I believe Uesugi-san can be good friends with Miku! If he can be my friend, then he can be friends with all of us!" Yotsuba exclaimed in her usual cheerful tone, oozing with energy as she joined in the conversation.

But before anyone could say anything more, Fuutarou interrupted with his own stance on the matter, clearing his throat as he stepped forward. He made sure to turn his complete attention solely towards Itsuki, Yotsuba, and Nino, avoiding Ichika and Miku as much as possible.

"Uh, why don't we do that while heading to your home?" he suggested, taking a quick glance at their school to check if someone was heading their way. Luckily, there was no one but they can't feel too assured! "It's not impossible to introduce yourself to someone while doing something else, right? I believe it would be more convenient that instead of standing here and waiting for us to say our names, we're walking to your home while your sister and I talk to each other for a bit. We might even be seen here standing altogether by other students, and we don't want that to happen, do we?"

All of the girls turned towards him after he spoke, before looking like they were slowly considering his words in their minds. Good, because not only will this save time for his tutoring session with Yotsuba and Itsuki, but also to protect themselves from being seen by other students here. Fuutarou kept a calm look on his face as he waited for their response, until it gave way to surprise when it was Miku who gave her answer first among her sisters.

"Sounds fair."

"Yes, that does give us more time in our tutoring sessions and we'll be able to study a lot more…" Itsuki spoke up, before giving her sisters a soft smile. "I agree with Uesugi-kun. We shouldn't be wasting time here and simply head home already. Let's just let him speak with Miku along the way."

Ichika turned towards Nino and Yotsuba, who only shrugged and smiled respectively, which was enough for an answer as she looked at the young man next. "Well, alright. We'll give your idea a try, Fuutarou-kun, but you better not pull some moves on our sister while we're on the way~" she said, before flashing a teasing smile as she ended her words.

Miku blushed, having caught off guard with that sudden remark while Fuutarou only sighed in exasperation.

At the very least, she wasn't saying anything about what happened between them earlier…

"Like hell I would do that right after meeting you earlier," he said in his thoughts, sneaking a glance at the third quintuplet. "If anything, I have to avoid looking at her whenever she turns her attention towards me. I may have four soulmates now, but I'm not gonna push my luck and complete the set today. I've already gone through enough with you earlier, I don't want to risk anything with Miku. Plus, I'm supposed to focus on our tutoring session today! I can't let myself get distracted while teaching Yotsuba and Itsuki!"

"Well, just follow us, alright? Wouldn't want you to get lost now, would we?" Nino smirked at Fuutarou, who only let out a sigh and looked down on the ground. Can't they just move along? He was really getting tired of just standing around here with nothing to do! The more they hang around here, the more time they'll waste!

"You don't have to tell me twice."

Ichika covered her mouth with her hand, letting out a little gasp as she sent a look of concern at the young man. "Ara, we better get going then, because Fuutarou-kun might be looking tired already."

With that, the eldest of the quints led the way with Nino right behind her, followed by Itsuki and Yotsuba walking together and the remaining two were side-by-side. Ichika kept her attention on the road ahead, Nino's gaze alternated from her phone to her sister, while Itsuki and Yotsuba seemed to be discussing what they might do today during their study session.

Things were completely quiet between Miku and Fuutarou, as if nobody was planning to speak up. Well, in truth, he didn't want to say anything yet because of the possibility that it might be something that makes her mad or something… compared to the rest of the girls, Miku was quiet and didn't seem interested in getting to know him. It would be easier if he just makes eye contact with her and activates the shock, but there's no way he'll break his earlier statement about this.

Much to his clear surprise, it was Miku who actually spoke first. As he took a quick glance at her just in case, he noticed that the girl kept her gaze ahead, which means that it was safe for him to turn his attention to her for a while.

He could only hope his instincts would be fast enough for him to turn his head when the situation calls for it, while being careful enough not to snap his own neck in the process.

"So you're Itsuki's tutor? Somehow, I expected you to look like a boy with glasses who only talks about studying most of the time when she told us about you. You're a lot different than what I thought."

"Is that so?" he asked with a straight face, as if he expected the girl to say something like that about him. Hey, he can't really blame her for that thought because in some way, it was true.

"You look more like a delinquent than someone who gets high grades. You have an intimidating face when I saw you," she continued, looking up at Fuutarou which caused him to panic and quickly shift his gaze back to the road ahead.

That was close.

"Well… I apologize if I made you uncomfortable then," he said, trying his best not to make it seem like he was avoiding her.

She shook her head. "Don't bother. I'm not your student to say anything about your grades. I'm just saying that you look like someone that people usually stay away from, which is really confusing because girls have been after you lately."

Now that he wasn't looking at her, Fuutarou felt calmer since he saved himself from a close call back there. "Just to clarify, I don't like my current situation one bit. I understand if you don't trust me too and I'm fine with that, because I believe it's justified. From your point of view, I'm an outsider who made his way to your family because I was hired by your sister to be her tutor.

Miku shook her head again. "Like I said, it's alright. Nino looked comfortable with you around, which was so different from how she first found out about you. If someone like her felt completely fine with you, then you're not someone to worry about. Besides, all my other sisters trust you anyway, so there's really no reason for me to think bad of you."

"Let me guess, it felt shocking that Nino would trust a guy like me so easily, when she's the one who normally wouldn't tolerate something like this. Itsuki told me about it and quite frankly, I am still boggled that she's fine with my presence here," he said in slight amusement, remembering the time when Nino made a bento for him, which marked the beginning of the paradigm shit in her behavior towards him.

And that was only yesterday!

"Obviously, that's true," the girl nodded. "You can't even begin to imagine how we reacted to Nino's sudden change. It's like she was a completely different person yesterday, and all of us never expected it when she told us to trust you."

Before Fuutarou could respond to her, however, they were both cut off from their current talk by someone else who was just walking in front of them. From the harsh note in her voice, it was clear that she sounded somewhat angry for some reason.

"Are you two talking about me back there?! If you're gonna do that, why don't you let me join in then?! I'll be glad to talk about myself until we get home!" Nino cut in with a sarcastic tone, getting their attention as they turned towards the second quint, who had a tick mark on her head out of annoyance.

"It's nothing big, Nino. Don't worry about it. We were just discussing how you've been acting lately towards me. Your sister is simply curious about your behavior around me lately, wondering why you don't seem as angry as you were with me a week ago. I am just trying to answer her question, that is all," he quickly explained before Miku could have any chance of answering.

Who knows? It might cause an argument between them and that was the last thing he wanted to happen right now.

"Hmmm…" Nino narrowed her eyes at Fuutarou for a brief moment, as though she was doubting what he said before clicking her tongue just seconds later. "Tch, you're lucky I believe you. And Miku, I thought I already told you? I don't hate him at all and we're both over it already, now stop with the damn questions about me!"

After sending the young man a little pout, Nino then scolded her sister for her pointless question before turning her attention back to the road before them. This caused Miku's eyes to widen, because this was a clear example of the change that she noticed about her sister yesterday.

"What did you do for Nino to stop disliking you? No matter how you look at it, it just seems too strange that Nino stopped trying to make you stay away from Itsuki and not to mention, she even went as far as to offer you to walk with us back home. You saw what she just did, right? She listened to what you said without even doubting you. Nino would never do something like this back then, even if it's for a boy."

Fuutarou understood her view on this and knew exactly what the answer to her question was, but he can't just man up and say, 'Oh, that's because you, Nino and the rest of your sisters are my soulmates, let's get along well with each other from now on!'

Under no circumstances can he reveal such a thing, nor will he look at her in the eyes right now just to make her stop asking.

After all, these girls were all important to him.

"I was just myself, nothing more. Perhaps I did defend my own during our first meeting because it's a natural reaction, but after that, I simply ignored her and continued with my role as Itsuki's tutor. The very next day, however, we had another talk and I noticed that she changed her perception of me. Instead of telling me to stay away from her sister, she told me to look after Itsuki because it's my job as her tutor to ensure she's safe. I was shocked with her sudden change in demeanor, but I suppose she had a day of reflecting on her actions to come to that."

Miku widened her eyes even more while she listened to him speak. She was then reminded of the time when Nino attempted to spy on Fuutarou and Itsuki after class while those two were off on their tutoring session. It was the same day when she met the young man for the first time and told him to stay away from Itsuki. Nino already made it clear that she and Fuutarou have spoken to each other on several occasions by now and assuming that it was the day after that first meeting where Nino talked to him again, then it would match with his words about speaking with her sister for the second time!

There's no doubt that he was telling the truth then…

"It still sounds a bit fishy…" she muttered, raising an eyebrow out of suspicion and curiosity at the same time. "What did you two talk about? Did you call her out somehow?"

He shook his head. "No. I don't have any reason to hate Nino for what she did for me to do such a thing. In fact, I can understand why she demanded me to stay away from Itsuki, and it's because she thought of me as an outsider who is trying to take her family away. I'd feel the same way if someone would do that to my younger sister."

Miku looked at him with a little frown, as if she was trying to see if there was a part of him that showed he was lying, but she didn't find anything in the end.

Well, if there was nothing about him that seemed truly suspicious or anything, it's better to just stop with those questions then.

"I see. Well, if you ask me right now, I don't have a problem with you going over to our house to tutor two of my sisters," she released a deep breath, explaining her conditions to the young man. "But I do have a problem if you bother me. I'll leave you three alone and stay inside my room later so I won't distract you or anything and in return, just don't bother me."

"Fair enough. I have nothing else in mind except tutoring your sisters when we reach your home," he nodded, before glancing at her to see if she was looking at him. Once he was sure that the coast was clear, he turned towards her for a brief moment. "Anyway, you may know me already, but I have yet to introduce myself. My name is Uesugi Fuutarou, and I hope we can get along."

"Miku," she nodded in return and looked up at Fuutarou, who already turned his gaze away. "I'm only doing this because my sisters think it's the best thing to do. Nino told us that the rumor about you and Itsuki being in some kind of relationship has gotten really big, and they convinced me to introduce myself to you at least."

Okay, he's still fortunate that Miku was unaware of him avoiding her gaze and hopefully, it would last until this day ends.

"I understand what you mean and believe me, I didn't intend for things to end like this. It's just that you are quintuplets and you can be referred to as 'Itsuki' by anyone by mistake. I won't be able to forgive myself if any of you get dragged into this problem that involves myself as the very root of it," he explained while releasing a deep sigh.

A small smile formed on Miku's face as she looked up at him, which Fuutarou missed because his attention was away from her. "That's okay. I know it's not your fault, so don't blame yourself for it. But as long as you respect what I want, you're fine with me."

Despite being unaware of the girl's expression, he flashed a little smile that reflected his inner feelings towards this. "I believe we understand each other then, Miku."

"Mm," she nodded again, before turning her attention back to the path ahead.

Yep, he just needed to avoid making eye contact with her for the rest of the day, that's it… and hopefully, she really won't notice what he's trying to do.

Well, there you have it! Not bad for the first meeting, and I'm sure a lot of you were hoping for the shock to happen, right? Sorry, but Fuutarou is doing his best to make sure it doesn't happen... for now, at least. He simply wants to delay it, but will his attempts last the entire day? There's no telling whether Miku notices what he's trying to do, but her reaction should be interesting. Anyway, their interactions are only getting started! More will come in the incoming chapters, so I guess I'll see ya'll tomorrow!

Goodbye... and good night! BANG! *too sweet gesture*
