About two hours had past and the reception was in full swing. Danté and Judah had just shared their first dance. Judah and River were now sharing a dance, laughing and smiling while Danté pulled his best friend of 9 years, Amelia to her feet and guided her around the dance floor giggling like school children.
Blake and friends were sitting together talking when Trinity felt a tap on her shoulder. Max was standing behind her, motioning for her to follow. He pulled her off to the side and they began to sway as they tried to speak discreetly near the edge of the dance floor.
"I kissed Shylow!" He told her with wide eyes looking sort of guilty.
"Dude, he has a boyfriend!" She replied mirroring his look.
"I know, it was sort of an accident!" Max told her shaking his head, "I went up to his room to see if a tie of mine had gotten left with him and the curtains were drawn, I guess a bulb is burned out in his light because it wouldn't turn on and when I heard him come through the door, I just couldn't control myself!" He added looking over to were Shylow and Nat were swaying together and laughing.
"You need to go apologize!" Trinity told him firmly.
"It's gonna be so awkward!" Max retorted covering his face out of embarrassment.
"Yes… yes it will, but you still have to!" Trinity told him nodding with a small frown.
"Will you go over with me… please?" He asked the shape shifter who nodded silently.
After a second, Trinity and Max made their way over to Shylow and Nat, who were getting drinks and discussing something that had happened earlier.
"What're you guys talking about?" Trinity asked as they approached.
"Earlier in the foyer when that girl tripped and literally fell through the floor!" Shylow responded chuckling. Max snorted loudly making Nat and Trinity both laugh.
"Very relatable!" He said laughing, "when did that happen?" He asked getting a weird look from Trinity.
"When you went upstairs to look for your tie… and you were there the whole time, weren't you Shy?" Trinity told him getting a weird look back from Shylow and Nat, "Who was it then?" She added after a moment. Max just shook his head and started to look over at their group, noting that Tabi and Bobby were nowhere to be found.

Blake was standing with Darius, Kurt, Logan, and Logan's plus one. Logan had been getting considerably closer to Darius' mother Antoinette and chose to bring her to the wedding.
"So, this has been wonderful Logan, I can't thank you all enough for having me!" Antoinette told her date with a smile.
Wolverine returned an almost unreadable smile before nodding.
"My pleasure…" he told her before noticing her looking away.
"I think that boy might be talking about you Blake!" She spoke to her date's daughter, motioning over to Pietro who was in a hushed but heated conversation with his sister.
"What's his problem?" Blake called over to Wanda.
"He wants to know if you wanna dance!" The other called back making the feral girl smirk.
"You know… I do kinda!" She said before walking over and motioning to the dance floor. The boy twin nodded before whisking her over at top speed making her laugh as they danced around.
"Don't worry… I'll keep my eye on that!" Darius told Logan without looking over. Logan nodded slowly and Antoinette gave him a curious look not privy to where Pietro and his sister had came from.
Then with a sigh Darius took Kurt's hand and led him over to dance as well.

After returning to his table from the refreshments, Max heard a voice say his name. He turned to see Bobby Drake standing behind him.
"So, I always get at least one dance with you, is now a good time?" Bobby asked holding out a hand Max grinned before taking the others hand in his. He had momentarily forgotten about the mystery man from earlier in the day.
"So, you and Phoebs broke up?" Max began as Bobby began to sway him, "how're you holding up?" He added genuinely concerned for his friend.
"It was mutual… we both want to see other people over the summer!" Bobby responded with a shrug of the shoulders, "mind if I ask you a question?" He asked in return.
"For sure, what's up?" Max countered spinning Bobby making him laugh a little.
"Are you wearing Peppermint Chapstick?" Bobby asked him softly.
"Yeah, but how…" Max began to answer before faltering. His eyes went wide after a moment.
"Bobby I'm so sorry!" Max spoke after another beat went by. Bobby smiled and shook his head. As the song began to fade Max started to pull away but just before they separated, Bobby squeezed one of his hands.
"Um… I know you just came off a really bad relationship only a few months ago but, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to go catch a movie in a few weeks," Bobby started looking away for a moment, "you know maybe… two or three weeks after we get home for summer?" He added scratching the back of his head and looking down briefly.
Max was surprised by his behavior Bobby was always so confident. He was shocked to see him seem so nervous.
Max smiled softly and nodded slowly.
"Yeah, that would be great!" He told the other boy after a moment.
Bobby nodded, giving him a thumbs up before they both laughed awkwardly and parted.
Max went over to refill his drink and Bobby whisked away to where his ex was seated at their table.
"So, when are you going out?" Phoebe asked, laughing when Bobby blushed and looked away.
"3 weeks… after we get home for break!" He said staring down with a dusting of pink on his cheeks. Phoebe chuckled before high fiving him and going to join Ruby and Kitty on the dance floor.

Tabi had returned from seemingly nowhere and joined Evans' side as he talked to Bryce and Piotr.
"Where did you go?" He asked her with a small look of confusion when she suddenly reappeared.
"Inside for a second, it's fine!" She responded noting he was looking at her weird, "when are you gonna ask me to dance?" She countered making him shake his head and lead her over.
A slow dance played, and Tabi pulled in close to her good friend. She and Evan had never been official but, he was the closest thing she had to a boyfriend and couldn't help but wish that at some point in their time together maybe things could have been more.
But the past was the past. He did lean down and kiss her after a moment though. She blinked wide eyes and felt a few tears begin to well up in her eyes.
"What's wrong Tab's?" he asked her softly.
"Do you think that… fundamental disagreements… should kill a friendship?" She asked him, seeing him look back briefly confused.
"No way… I mean like B and Quicksilver are dating and they are members of like "feuding groups" or whatever!" He told her, "Plus the Prof and Magneto are still really good friends apparently…" he added to which she nodded softly.
Evans eyes went a little bit wider suddenly.
"You're leaving… aren't you…" he spoke in a way that wasn't quite a question. She sighed and looked away for a moment.
"Let's just focus on tonight for now…" she responded softly but firmly. After two more songs played Tabitha laid a hand on his chest. She nodded toward the house then motioned for him to follow. He blinked, looked around, then followed her through the darkening skies back into the school.
