I don't own Ghost Hunt but if I did, I would have more volumes in the series with more scary cases and funny ones too. Now on with the show.
Monk pulls out his cell phone from his pants pocket and dials Yasu's number.
"Hello, this is Yasuhara speaking."
"Hey, Yasu, will you be able to catch a plane tonight to be here at The Buckingham Palace by mid-afternoon tomorrow?"
"Sure, no problem, good-looking."
A shiver goes down Monk's spine. "Don't say things like that, you damn brat."
Yasu smiles and blows a raspberry before hanging up.
Monk huffs and puts the phone back in his pocket. He turns to watch the monitors with his elbows on the edge of the table, linking his fingers together under his chin.
Monk sighed, 'This is so boring, no wonder Mai falls asleep. Staring at the same image all the time would make anyone drowsy. Speaking of Mai, she's not her usual happy-go-lucky self. I wonder what's wrong with her. Come to think of it Lin has been acting quite strange too. The only time I've seen him scold Naru was at the bloodstained manor when we were split off in pairs for protection. In the cursed house case, Lin was a little bit closer to the group than in previous cases he even sat next to Mai. I thought that was quite odd at the time, looking back on it in the previous case dubbed Ukraine's curse. How Lin comes up with these titles baffles me to this day. I wonder why Lin chose that name for the case anyway, seems kind of odd to me. Sure, that spirit was a bit off his rocker, but he didn't seem like a true genuine threat to me. Honestly, though he was kind of lonely and maybe a little bored.'
He looks at the monitor to to right.
"W-what the hell is going on here?! Did Mai just do a backflip? Something is definitely wrong here I need to have a chat with Mai when she gets back. I thought Lin was the karate expert of the group, but Mai is using karate and judo to dodge the spirits attacks and there's no way she knows how to do that. I wonder if this has anything to do with Albert Ukraine's last words."
The monitor he is staring at turns black.
"Damn it, now I can't see anything. "
Meanwhile, with Mai and the others
My legs and lungs were burning. I could feel a cramping sensation in my leg, but I decide to ignore it. I have to get to Lin as soon as possible so I push myself even harder. I make a sharp turn to the right passing the rows of portraits containing past kings and queens and princes. In the corner of my eye, I can see Masako, her kimono sleeves bellowing with her movement. She turns to me.
"Lin-San, why did we leave Monk at the base instead of Miss Matsuzaki?"
I look straight ahead before answering her, "We need someone who is efficient in the nine cuts. Monk cannot use nine cuts effectively that is why he had to stay in base."
"I see," Masako responds. Ayako stops running to look back at Masako.
"I'm as useful to the group as you are, Masako."
Before Masako could respond with a sarcastic remark, Mai cut her off, "Miss Matsuzaki and Miss Hara, we do not have time for your childish antics."
Mai shakes her head and runs down the hall with the others hot on her heels.
Meanwhile
Lin is pushed back with the power of the spirit sword, hitting the back wall with a thud, still breathing but unconscious.
Mai and the others arrive at the Queen's Chambers to see Mai's body slide to the floor in a heap.
