The next year flew by as Ruby, undercover as Aurum, adjusted to teaching at Shade quite well, she enjoyed teaching the students about ballistics, seeming as it was one of her favorite subjects. Math in general for Ruby was pretty boring, but when she had discovered using math for judging bullet trajectories, and gauging how far a shot would drift in the wind, she fell in love with Algebra, back in beacon she was the only student in her class with a higher grade in math than anyone else, much to the chagrin of Weiss, and the pride of her sister. As the year went on and Ruby got used to living a teacher's life she kept up meetings with Theodore, and not the staff meetings regularly held by the shade academy faculty.

Ruby was fresh out of fighting a war, and while Theodore was a very intimidating fighter, he also was a caring man, and he understood that coming straight from the apocalypse, defending the last bastion of humanity from the ultimate threat, to a menial job teaching the huntsmen and huntresses of the future, was a bit jarring. And so Ruby met with Theodore once a week to talk about her past, and process the loss of her loved ones.

It was in one such meeting, on a chilly winter evening, when Ruby suddenly felt a longing sensation deep in her soul, she was in the middle of recalling her team's excursion to Merlot's lab and the mutant death stalker within, when she paused halfway through a sentence. She felt a tugging sensation in her chest, and she let out a cool breath, when she did so her eyed fluttered shut and she felt the world around her shift.

"It would seem that Lady Luck has smiled upon you, Ruby. You Rolled Doubles."

When she opened her eyes, she was in another white expanse, similar to the plane of the gods, she saw in her peripheral vision that her hair was red at the tips once more, and when she looked down she was in her old outfit from before she came back. Looking back up, she saw another woman standing across from her, the woman looked to be old, possibly 80 or 90 years old by her estimation, Ruby met eyes with the woman.

The woman smiled, a warm caring smile, "So the power has chosen you, tell me girl, what is your name?"

"Aur- Ruby ma'am, Ruby Rose." Ruby responded, used to replying with her fake identity, but she quickly corrected herself.

"Rose eh? Any relation to Summer Rose?" The woman asked with a raised eyebrow

"My Mother, Ma'am" Ruby hesitantly replied

"Now That's odd... you look to be in your twenties yes?"

"I'm twenty as of this October Ma'am"

"If my memory serves, Summer is about Twenty four, so either you're lying to me or there's something else going on here." The Woman looked to Ruby with a gleam in her eye

Ruby sighed and said, "I'm a time traveler Ma'am, Sent back at the brink of the worlds destruction, to a time where I might prevent it, I was slain while fighting in defense of Shade academy, the last bastion of hope for humanity at the time, as the last Silver-Eyed Warrior and as a Simple, Smaller, more Honest soul, The Brother Gods plucked me from the Afterlife and brought me to Purgatory to give me a Choice, and so I chose, and here I am, armed with a Relic of my own and Knowledge of events yet to pass." Ruby finished her speech

The Woman across from her nodded, "I just needed to hear the truth from you lass, Take this power and use it well, save us from the past you know." As the woman spoke she walked towards Ruby in the White expanse. Once she was roughly a foot away from her, the Woman brought up her arm and lifted up Ruby's hand, intertwining their fingers, she looked Ruby and the eyes and said, "With this, I become a part of you."

Ruby looked back and as their intertwined hands glowed brighter and brighter, she asked the woman, "What's your name, so I can remember you bye?"

The Woman chuckled happily, "My name is Alexandria Solana, Maiden of Summer, As you are now Ruby Rose, Maiden of Summer. Oh and tell that bitch Xanthe to get that stick out of her ass, she's such a nice person when she isn't such a hard-ass."

With the brightness of their combined hands now to bright to look at Ruby shut her eyes, and when she woke, she was in Theodore's office once again, only now, as she knelt on the ground she could feel a well of power burning within her, calling upon it she slowly hovered in the room and opened her eyes, when she did so the flames in the corners of her eyes were a pure, bright and brilliant silver, a stark contrast to her blue contacts, taking in a breath, she closed her eyes and gently floated to the ground. Her feet touching the ground she opened her eyes once more and the flames that had once been there were gone, smiling brightly she looked to the stunned Headmaster and upon seeing the absolutely flabbergasted look on his face, she promptly burst out laughing, as Ruby laughed nearly doubling over in her mirth, the headmaster snapped out of his funk and grew red in the face, Finally after Ruby's laughing fit had reduced to only light chuckles, and she was wiping her eyes, Theodore heatedly asked, "Are you quite finished?"

Ruby looked up to see Theodore's completely red face and almost lost it again, but instead she cleared her throat and replied, "Yeah, I'm done, Gods that was hilarious, I'm so glad that happened here."

Theodore was not having it and asked, "Do you mind Explaining just what Exactly happened just now?"

Ruby simply smiled, "Well, I'm no longer simply Ruby Rose, Time Traveler Extraordinaire, and Aurum Lazuli, Professor of Shade Academy and 'The Reaper of Chance', I'm also Ruby Rose, Maiden of Summer."

Theodore was taken aback, "So Alex has passed... Shame, I would've liked to speak to her one last time, to say my goodbye's. But, This presents an opportunity, Ozpin must know I've hired you by now, but I haven't told him why, nor do I think he would know if Alex was still alive, or if she had passed, though its reasonable that she could have died earlier, say I don't know, seven or eight months before I hired you?"

Sensing where Theodore was taking this, Ruby replied, "Uh, we might have an issue."

"Oh, and what might that be?" Theodore asked in earnest

"Well, A Maiden's Flames match the color of their eyes, So blue flames for blue eyes, green for green, red for red, I have silver flames, but blue eyes with my contacts in, how are we going to explain that?"

Theodore just sighed, "Well, I Know Oz would love to have another Silver Eyed Warrior on his side?"

Ruby stiffened and turned to Theodore, "you don't mean... Sigh Okay Theo,I'm Trusting you on this one, but if this blows up, don't say I didn't call it."

Grimacing at the use of the nickname Theo, Theodore responded, "I'll see to it that a meeting is set up, by the way, did Alex have any parting message, Something to remember her by?"

Ruby replied, "She said 'Tell that bitch Xanthe to get the stick out of her ass' I don't know who Xanthe is so I guess-" Ruby paused as Theodore rolled in laughter, watching as he doubled over, she just shook her head well I guess he knows who she is, I'll ask him after he's done
