All good things don't last forever, this is a fact of life. So, when Ruby was sitting at home, eating dinner with Neo. It was a shock to get an urgent call from Rumpole. Ruby had been enjoying her time, starting a family, settling in. But in all her relaxation, she had forgotten what the date was.

Pulling her phone out, Ruby answered Rumpole.

"YOUR MOTHER IS HERE! SHE'S IN CRITICAL CONDITION, GET DOWN HERE NOW!"

Ruby Jumped up out of her seat, Oh my god... I'm 6 years old, its the summer of 73, my mom dies today

Rushing out of her apartment, and all the way to the miniature hospital inside shade. She was greeted by the clerk, she demanded to see Summer Rose, and was told a room number. Racing into the room, she saw her mother on the bed, Theodore and Rumpole were already in the room looking at Summer's unconscious body. She had a massive splotch of blood on her corset, stained purple.

Aurum knew who had done this, Quickly she asked Theodore, "Do the doctors know what's wrong?" Theodore replied, "We know its a poision, but we don't know of what nature, giving her the wrong antivenom could kill her, the doctors don't know what to do."

Aurum was quiet for a moment then said, "A scorpion faunus did this. The same one that killed you in my time."

Theodore rushed out the door and a doctor came in with a vial of clear fluid a short while after, the doctor lined up the needle with Summer's arm and depressed the plunger, once all the fluid was in summer's body she visually relaxed.

Aurum gave a sigh of relief, then mentally berated herself. How the hell could I forget that today was the day my mom died, June 21st , of 73 AGW, whats wrong with me. Theodore came back in and spoke, "Ah good it seems she's relaxed, well done Aurum, you might have saved her life."

Aurum gave Theodore a sobered look, "I did, today is June 21st is it not? Without me here, they might have given her the wrong antivenom, or none at all, either way she would be dead. But now they know it was Tyrian who did this. And they can treat her." Rose, I hope my mother makes it out alive The odds are ever in your favor, take ten coins and flip them, what are the chances you get at least 3 heads.

Aurum texted her daughter, and told her she had some urgent business to attend to. And, after asking Rumpole to watch Neo, Ruby sat at Summer's bedside through the whole night.

In the wee hours of the morning, Summer cracked open her eyes, last she remembered, she was fighting this crazy scorpion faunus and a mad scientist, and now she was in a hospital room, Shade's by the look of it. Her whole body ached and her chest had a dull throb to it, she turned her head to look around the room, and the room was empty save one person. Aurum Lazuli sat asleep in the corner, the only other person with activated silver eyes. Making a small coughing sound, she saw Aurum start to stir.

Aurum sat up and as her eyes locked onto Summer's she began to speak, "Mo- Summer... I've been waiting for you to be awake... I think its time I told you some things, got you caught up so to speak. I... I-I... I'm your daughter... Ruby.

Summer looked confused, and Aurum chuckled, "Rose"

Rose did her normal summoning routine, floaty stuff and languid stretching in all, and then spoke, "Ah Summoned in person once more... I see you're sparing no expense Ruby, well this certainly is one way to get her to believe you."

Summer was baffled, Aurum had a relic? She asked the relic what was happening, and she got a reply, "I am Rose, a being created by The Brother Gods to aid Ruby Rose on her quest, I cannot Lie, I cannot be summoned other than by Ruby Rose, and I cannot make the impossible possible save one exception. You are Summer Rose, Mother to my master. My Master uses my inert form as weapon for combat, it is the only weapon on the planet capable of ending an immortal."

Summer sat Dumbfounded, she then looked to Aurum, no, Ruby, and asked, "So you're my little rose?"

Ruby smiled softly, "Yeah... I... Yeah, I time traveled... I've been here for just over four years, I'm what? Six right now? Yeah seems about right, I was 17 when I made the jump... so I'm about 21 now? Give or take a few months for when I traveled versus when I arrived, and yeah, I'm about 21 and a half. And I'm your daughter, just, older."

Summer was still dumbfounded, but asked her daughter one question, "Who told the doctors what kind of venom was in my blood?" Ruby Spoke softly, "Me"

Summer closed her eyes and nodded, "I die today in your time, don't I?"

Ruby had tears in her eyes now, "Yesterday, you passed on the summer solstice, shortly after arriving at Shade. Fitting huh?"

Summer sat with tears in her eyes, "So I die, and leave my little girls without a mother, Tai already lost a wife, I cant imagine what another does to him."

"He falls into a depression, drinking, mourning. Yang has to start taking care of me because he wouldn't, until one day, when Uncle Qrow came and took dad outside and literally beat some sense into him."

Summer gave a small smile, Well at least your uncle doesn't turn out too bad.

Ruby Scratched the back of her head, "Well about that."
