Aurum smiled thinly as she watched the bullhead pull off the landing pad, plying the skies to its destination. Today was the day her little girl entered Shade. Unlike Beacon, Shade's Initiation was done on an Island just off the coast of Sanus, this was mainly used due to the lack of a forest anywhere nearby the school. Aurum glanced at her fellow teachers, all of whom were engaged in a bit of small talk, and sighed, she never did bond with any of them, 14 years and she had made 3 friends... Yang would be so disappointed... Aurum's eyes Hardened and she looked down to her scroll, watching as the students executed their landing strategies.

Neo flew through the air with glee, the wind in her face and the smell of fresh island air putting a smile on her face as she plummeted out onto the island. Looking for any trees, she quickly spotted one and made a small illusion to push off of with her feet, putting her on a collision course with it.

As she approached the tree she drew her weapon and put it in scythe mode, taking aim she waited for the perfect moment... and struck, hooking the tree she started to circle around it in a spiral, speeding up as she did so. Gritting her teeth she put the heel of her boot against the tree to slow her self down, and finally reached the bottom of the tree with a grunt.

Scanning the area, she found it was clear of Grimm, Neo looked to the sky and put her hand up, finding north, Neo took off in the direction of the temple. She made her way through the dense forest, killing any Grimm she encountered, and using her semblance to avoid any other people

she found on her way. The island wasn't too big, and she knew it was close, when she heard a wolf whistle from above. Grinning to herself, she looked up to find exactly who she expected to.

"Hey Shortstack."

Neo grinned and jumped, using an illusion under herself to jump off of again making landing softly on the tree branch and hugging her long time friend,

"Hey Scar, good to see you." Neo said, and then gave her friend a beaming smile, "Four years on the same team eh? You up for it?"

Scarlet Wine gave a wide smile, "With you? Nah."

Neo laughed and the duo jumped back down, and started heading north. Shortly after they took off, they arrived on the northern beach of the island, where a small dais sat surrounded by pedestals, Neo walked over and grabbed a Black Rook Piece, and turned to her friend, "I think we were supposed to go to the eastern docks once we got one right?"

Her friend nodded and they took off, not noticing the small rumble of the earth as they left.

Aurum watched on her scroll as the students all got set up in pairs, she saw a few of the teams she had faced in the Vytal festival get their teammates, and she had watched her daughter and her childhood friend meet up, Aurum was watching said pair when she noticed something and frowned, Hmm, that's odd...that can't be what I think it is, a Grimm that old would've been killed long ago on initiation island... well, granted... we did face an Elder Deathstalker and Nevermore on my initiation... hmmm, I guess we'll wait and see.

Neo and her partner walked through the dense jungle to their destination, idly chatting with one another, when they heard a blood curdling scream from their south. Glancing at each other, they took off in the direction of the noise, only to come across a truly horrific scene. It seemed one of the initiates had been ambushed by several Grimm, and they had quite brutally lost the battle. Realizing what they had just done, Neo cast an illusion over the both of them, and quickly grabbed her partner's hand and ran, all the way to the beach.

She could feel the menacing presence of the Grimm behind her as she ran, and once they escaped the tree line, she turned and looked over her shoulder, to find exactly what she feared, a veritable horde of Beowolves and death Wyrms all began to emerge from the forest wall. She and Scarlet spared a glance, and after meeting eyes and nodding heads they both dashed into the fray.|

The two fought hard, and made short work of the horde. It was mostly younger Grimm, though quite a large amount, especially for initiation island, but they didnt know that. They also didnt know it was a distraction.

With a deep Rumble from the earth, an Elder Death Wrym emerged from the ground directly behind Neo. Neo, noticing this, promptly threw herself away from the large black body of the beast. The Wyrm twisted and rotated in place, the large gaping maw coming to rest pointing at Neo.

Neo's eyes widened, and she jumped out of the way, leaving an illusion in her place, an illusion that was quickly obliterated by a massive boulder hurled from the mouth of the Wyrm. She gasped as she saw Scarlet engaging the Beast and she quickly got to her feet, dashing to help her friend, she changed her weapon to scythe mode and swung out at the large creature... only for it to spin its massive body around and descend into the earth. Looking to each other and nodding, the duo dashed off down the beach, racing for the east end of the island. Seeing it in view, they both gasped at what they saw, and Neo abruptly heard a voice, Your Mother says, Get to the F-ing boat Right now, or so help me god Rose said in a nonchalant tone.

Neo and Scarlet Both rushed for the docks and raced onto the boat, looking back at the incredible sight before them. Once they were both on the boat, they captain blew the horn and they left, looking back they saw that only Six other student were on board. Glancing at each other, the duo looked at the island from their spot on the boat and saw the veritable carnage delivered.

All of the students looked on in awe as The Reaper of Chance, Aurum Lazuli, Held off a Horde ten times the size of the one Neo and scarlet fought, Neo looked on as her mother Laid low the Elder death Wyrm in one swipe, not even caring as she transitioned into killing the next Grimm.

As the 8 students on the boat watched Aurum eradicate swathes of Grimm, They Gasped when they saw what looked like a massive explosion appear from their teacher, the White light exploding outwards from her, forcing them all to shield their eyes. Looking back, their jaws collectively dropped.

All of the Grimm were dead. Just like that Aurum had laid low well over a Thousand Small Grimm and easily 20 Elders.

Neo Squinted her eyes when she got a ping from her scroll

Aurum Wiped the Sweat from her brow, and pulled her scroll out, calling in a bullhead for extraction she sighed to herself, Man I Wish Jaune was here, I'm pooped She texted her daughter 'You okay?' And got a reply 'That was the silver eyes?' Aurum's eyes widened, 'HEY! Not over Text!' 'Also Yes'

Aurum sighed, That girl is going to be the death of me
