The mood was oppressive in the auditorium, the veritable crowd of people that were collected there the night before had thinned out considerably. Only slightly padded by the presence of parents of the students that succeeded in initiation. The slight chatter that had been there previously was gone, shattered by the weight of what all of the students had experienced.

The room was quiet as the Headmaster walked on stage, and once he reached the center of the stage he brought the microphone to his face and addressed the crowd,

"Hello... I..."

Theodore stopped speaking, cutting himself off with a grunt, looking down and shaking his head, after a moment, he looked back up and met the eyes of his students,

"We are gathered here today to celebrate the achievement of the individuals that have passed the initiation to our school... and to mourn those who lost their lives, in the terrible tragedy that was this year's initiation... Of the 100 student hopefuls that were accepted this year, a total of 23 Survived... Only 20 of which have been Initiated proper, as 3 of them didn't have a relic, and one didn't have a partner. And therefore they have failed initiation."

The atmosphere was thick, when Theodore continued, "It is with a Heavy heart that I report that, so far, we have found 70 bodies... 7 more are still missing, and we are scouring Initiation Island for them. Please, Join me in a moment of silence and thought for those who have departed."

The Room had already been silent, but somehow the silence became heavier, as the entire crowd joined Theodore in mourning. After a full minute of silence, Theodore continued, "Thank you, now. onto The Forming of Teams... Your scrolls will be pinged, when they are, please come up on the stage."

Four students Scrolls were pinged, and they took to the stage, their team announced, and their leader chosen. Then the next, and the next, until there were two.

"And now Brawnz Ni, Roy Stallion, Gwen Darcy, and Octavia Ember. You four collected the White Pawn Piece, and From this point on be known as Team Birdie (BRDE ), Led by Brawnz Ni.'

Neo felt a ping from her scroll, and she ascended to the stage, joined by 3 of the 8 people she had seen on the boat, including Scarlet.

"And Finally, Neopolitan Lazuli, Scarlet Wine, Nebula Violette, And Dew Gayl. From now on you four shall be known as Team Nightshade (NSVD), Led by... Neopolitan Lazuli!"

Neo stood a bit taller as Theodore named her leader, a smile grazing her face as Scarlet turned to hug her.

Neo knocked on the door to her mother's apartment, and was answered by the woman herself, Throwing herself into her mother's arms she spoke to her mother, "Mom! Oh my gods, what happened on the island?"

Ruby beckoned her daughter inside, and locked the door behind her. She sat down on the couch and replied, "we dont know, we cleared the island just a week ago, in preparation for today, there shouldn't have been that many Grimm... Neo you have no idea how lucky you got. You only saw the tail end of my fight, I was there, defending the docks from basically the start of the initiation. I... I asked Rose to keep you save, I told her I hoped you'd make it... 50/50 Neo, she told me to Flip a coin." Tears Burst from Ruby's eyes as she spoke, and Neo sat down and hugged her mother.

Ruby wiped her eyes and spoke, "Neo, You need to be with your team... I can manage, but they probably cant..."

Neo's eyes became steely, and she left with her suitcases to go to her dorm room.

Neo was met by her 3 teammates already in the room and getting unpacked, walking in she was hugged by Scarlet, "Where have you been girl? Visiting your mom? Well not anymore, you live here now." Scarlet said in a joking manner.

Nebula and Dew had looked up from their suitcases and acknowledged Neo, with Dew speaking up, "So your mom is the Reaper of Chance? How does it feel to be the daughter of such a badass?"

Neo smiled and said, "Its pretty cool, especially when you inherit her second semblance."

The other 3 in the room froze, Scarlet's eyes blowing wide and Nebula and Dew's Heads robotically looking up to meet Neo's"

"Neo?" "You... you what?" "Wha?"

Neo chuckled and met Scarlet's eyes, hidden meaning dancing behind them, Scarlet saw this and nodded, then Neo addressed Dew and Nebula, "I Got my moms second semblance, It happened on initiation island, I almost died to an Elder Death Wyrm and my semblance unlocked, er, again..."

Neo quickly did a demonstration to show the 3 that she in fact did get the ability to use Rose, she then unpacked, and the quartet settled in for the night, preparing for classes the next day.
