Hello everyone, here is another one shot

This is from chapter 46 The Dismay, when Sabo mentioned Ann had almost showed up, but hadn't since Ace was at a place his powers didn't work. But this time, the assignment was somewhere else, making things a bit different

Hope you enjoy

Read and relax

Ace gave a sigh, placing his, or Ann's, gloves on, having just tricked a man to follow her and having just killed him. Now, he needed to find the man's brother to get his pay. When the gloves were on, he checked Ann's hair, to be sure it hadn't gotten messed up, looking for a mirror or reflection to be sure it was fine. As he found a silver vase, he was glad to see everything was still perfect. He liked how Ann looked and often liked to go as her. It was also way easier work than what he usually did as Ace.

As everything was fine, and he was about to head out the door, he halted as he felt a feeling filling him with dread. The mark on Sabo and Luffy's boat was burning. It was burning. He sent Dust and instantly disappeared in smoke, hoping his brothers were fine. Whoever was responsible for this, would die.

Sabo watched as the boat they had used since they set out burned, the boat they loved, their Merry. But, it wasn't salvageable, this was the best way to let her go–with pride. It was the worst. He couldn't help the few tears that fell, but wanted to keep it together for Luffy, who was just staring at the boat burning, everyone doing the same, tears going down their cheeks. And, for some reason, Trafalgar was here too. But, as long as he wasn't doing anything, it would be fine. As Merry started to sink, the blond hoped they would get a new boat, one as perfect as Merry.

"Oh Lord, you're fine. Why is Merry burning?" Sabo turned to his left, the voice reminding him about something he had forgotten. He had forgotten to inform Ace. But, the light voice had him feel he should have remembered as he saw Ann coming towards them. "I'm sorry, I forgot to mention it." Ann gave a sigh as she looked him over, glad to not see any injuries, before moving to Luffy, also wiping his tears. "Why is Merry burning, Luffy?" Luffy gave a sniff, moving to hug Ann. "She got damaged; we couldn't fix her." Ann gave a breath, obviously relieved to see them fine. "You should have told me or your brother about this. I didn't know if you were on the boat or in the water. I got worried." Sabo gave an apologetic look, seeing the others looking at them in shock, aside from Zoro, who might not know who Jackson Ann was.

Ann moved a bit away from Luffy, holding her hands on his shoulders. "You're fine? All of you?" Luffy nodded, still looking a bit down, but better. Luffy really looked up to Ace- or Ann in this moment. Luffy gave a smile. "Even if I had fallen in the ocean, Sanji or Zoro would have saved me." "Why wou-" Sanji was quickly behind Zoro, hand over his mouth. "Hah, what he meant is that we would always get Luffy away from danger." Well, it seemed Sanji was scared of Ann too. Not that surprising actually. Trafalgar was silent and just watched them, probably not wanting to get any attention to himself. Sanji quickly moved his hand away as Zoro moved to bite, making Zoro give a huff. "I was going to say that moron! He's my captain!" The swordsman then looked at Ann, a frown at his face. "I've seen you before. You were with Mihawk." Ann gave a nod. "That might be. I am around him time to time."

That had Zoro interested. "Where is he? I need to find him and beat him in battle!" Ann lifted an eyebrow at the green-haired man. "He is most likely in his mansion. And, you won't be able to beat him, you need more training." Oh no, Zoro wouldn't take that, he was somewhat bash and rash. It didn't take more than a couple seconds to have Zoro charging at Ann with his favorite sword out. This was going to turn bad. Sanji was on his way to stop Zoro, probably to both protect a beautiful woman, and since it was Jackson Ann. Well, Zoro might learn from this too. Ann was still Ace.

When the sword was almost 8 inches from Ann, she moved her hand and stopped the sword with her thumb and middle finger, having a stern look as she lifted an eyebrow at a shocked Zoro. "This is why you won't be able to beat him. You don't plan. Take a breath, assess your opponent, and be smart. When you can do that, you might be able to take on Mihawk in a duel." Ann then flicked the sword away, making Zoro lose his footing. "H-how?" Zoro looked baffled. Ann gave a small look to Zoro. "Being bash and rash is not strength; it's stupidity. No one will take you seriously." Ann then looked at Luffy who had taken a step to be behind her. "Same goes for you Luffy; I know you rush into things." Luffy gave a pout, Ann shaking her head a bit. "Now, be safe and don't do stupid things. And, next time, tell me or Ace when you do things like this. We get worried about you." Luffy and he gave a nod. "Yeah, we're sorry, Ann."

Ann gave a smile, giving Luffy a small kiss on the head and him a pat, before she started to walk away, taking a small halt next to Trafalgar. "Remember, Trafalgar; we're watching you." The she headed on, walking to head behind a building on the dock, probably so she could teleport away without them seeing.

As she was gone, Sanji opened his mouth a few times, before he managed to speak. "Y-y-you know Miss Jackson?!" Sabo could see Robin and Trafalgar being interested in that too, but also scared, probably knowing her name. Nami probably knew her too, but she had kind been in the same business for a small bit, her trying to save her island and all that. "Yeah. She and Ace are associates." That wasn't a complete lie. Nami frowned. "You do know she is a mur- a not nice person." Nami still tried to shield Luffy, knowing he was the captain and he had all the money. Sabo shrugged. "Who is? I mean, we're pirates. We have fought others, stolen things, and all that." Nami looked stunned, sending a look at the others, who looked equally baffled. But, Sabo wasn't supposed to speak about either Ace's or Ann's work.

Sabo then moved a hand to Luffy's shoulder. "Why don't we head on and see if we can find a new Merry; she needs to be the best." That had Luffy both light up and become somewhat depressed. Merry was amazing, but they needed a boat. And, he would be sure to tell Ace at once when they had a new one.
