"CURSE YOU FOR MESSING UP MY PLANS AGAIN, SPIDER-WOMAN!"
Doctor Octopus howled with anger as his doomsday generator crumbled and exploded, his diabolical plan ruined at the hands of Mary-Jane "Spider Woman" Watson. Sparks flew from the crumbling generator and explosions shook Doc Ock's lair.
"See you next time if there is one, Doc Ock..." MJ remarked in a sarcastic sing song voice.
Mary Jane quickly made her way out of the lair, knowing the doomsday' device's destruction was about to cause a lot of destruction to the place. Doctor Octopus screamed several curses towards Mary Jane again and made a run for it, he too was prepared for what was happening. Seconds later, Doc Ock's Doomsday Generator exploded in a ball of fire.
The fiery explosion tore apart the lair and sent flaming rubble in every direction, MJ moved fast and crawled out of the doomed lair right as it was going up. She flicked her wrist and swung from her web upon a support beam to safety.
Once she was at a safe distance, Mary Jane turned to watch as the sinister Doctor Octopus' lair smoldered and burned away. It had been another close call; the city was now safe and the world could rest easy with Doc Ock's machine destroyed. "I could use a night of relaxation." Mary Jane remarked as she wiped some sweat off her forehead under the mask.
With that, the web-slinging woman leaded off the support beam and spun another web, swinging off into the city with another thwarted supervillain plan behind her. Mary Jane swung through the city of New York, whooping excitedly and feeling the rush of the breeze as she wove through the manmade jungle of buildings while people watched from below.
'No criminals to deal with tonight.' MJ thought as she observed the city streets below, 'It looks like we're good. Doctor Octopus defeated, crime rates low, the city is safe again.'
Mary Jane swung her way to the rooftops of a towering office building near Grand Central Station and took her time with taking in the view. She was just about to go web-swinging again when MJ heard a thwipping sound and something thumped next to her, followed up by someone saying, "Hey, MJ!"
Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Gwen/Spider-Woman from Earth-1972 had arrived, dressed in her trademark black-white costume, pink-eyed mask, blue dancing slippers and hoodie. She waved happily at Mary Jane, who was delighted to see her.
"Oh my gosh, Gwen, it's so great to see you!" MJ hugged Gwen and they giggled with delight.
The girls had met a month prior when Spider-Gwen came through a multiverse portal after her world's version of Mysterio opened the gateway to other dimensions as part of a plan to conquer and alter the multiverse, both MJ and Gwen had been confused at first but they eventually teamed up to thwart Mysterio's plan and banished him to another universe.
Ever since then, MJ and Gwen had been good friends, often meeting up to hang out and fight crime together as both Spider-Woman or have a regular girls' night.
"So, how's Peter?" Gwen asked.
MJ scratched the back of her head, "He's been good, staying out of trouble and taking pictures of me for the Daily Bugle, even though Mr. Jameson still bad mouths him and me. What's up with you, Gwen? Have you met anybody cute yet?"
"Well, there is this cute boy named Miles..." Gwen said as she removed her mask to think, "He's very nice and we've talked to each other, but Miles is so nerdy and awkward. So, what's been happening on the superhero end of your life, I just fought a couple mafia guys again."
"Doctor Octopus built this Doomsday Generator and was planning on devastating New York within a three-mile radius, but I trashed it and kicked his tentacled butt again."
"Alright, superhero girl power, high-five!" Gwen and MJ high-fived and bumped fists, complimenting each other for their hard superhero work. The duo sat down on the rooftop together and looked up at the night sky, gazing at the full moon in deep thought. For one second, MJ found herself thinking back to all those nights she spent stargazing with Peter.
Gwen had stargazed when she was a little girl and often did that after a day of fighting the bad guys as Spider-Woman in her world, she felt so at peace, just like MJ.
Just then, sirens started going off in the streets below, someone yelled and glass shattered.
MJ shot to her feet, prepared for action as her spider-senses went off. She looked at Gwen, who heard the sirens as well, and the girls nodded, knowing there were bad guys to fight and some crime-fighting to take care of.
"Ready for some Spider-Girl action?" MJ asked.
"I was born ready, Mary Jane." Gwen replied.
"Super girl time!"
The two Spider-Women dove off the building towards the street and flicked their wrists in unison, shooting webs out of their wrists and swinging into action quickly. Police cars sped across the road and people ran off or huddled in fear.
A few streets down, a pair of criminals led by a man in a rhino suit were exiting a store with diamonds in hand. The Rhino laughed like a madman and threw up his arms in the air with a bag full of jewelry in his hand as if he was the luckiest criminal on Earth. "Rhino hits the jackpot again!" Rhino declared in a Russian accent, "We're going to be rich tonight!"
FWIP! Webbing struck an armed goon, knocking him down, and another was knocked out as well. Several gunmen trained their guns and began shooting, trying to take down the attacker. Spider-Gwen and Spider-MJ arrived, kicking and punching down the bad guys.
"Spider-Woman and Spider-Woman!" Rhino bellowed, "You are naughty women, naughty if you've come to stop Rhino's robbery!"
"Crime ain't gonna pay, Rhino." Mary Jane replied, "Put down that jewelry!"
"Yeah!" Gwen agreed, "We can do this the easy way or the hard way without the rhino-style."
Rhino threw a punch at the girls and they ducked, making it clear that he was not going to walk away without a fight. MJ and Gwen nodded, ready to fight the bad guys again. It was time for MJ to take down another villain, especially after she'd just stopped Doc Ock.
The Rhino suit-clad Russian thug stomped his foot and tried to ram down the girls, but Gwen and MJ dodged gracefully. They thwipped webs at Rhino, but he grabbed them and bonked the two women into each other without warning. MJ and Gwen recovered and pounced on Rhino, struggling with him as they fought to overpower the very strong criminal.
MJ kicked Rhino in the shin and Gwen punched him in the face. "Oh my, that wasn't very womanly of me to do." The blonde exclaimed sarcastically, "Maybe we should defuse this one... in a web!"
Working together, Gwen and MJ thwipped webs in The Rhino's face and then started to web up his feet, pinning him by the feet to the pavement despite his strong resistance.
"RHINO WILL NOT LOSE!" Rhino protested, but ended up receiving a kick to the face. MJ and Gwen let him have it, webbing and beating him up until the Russian criminal was down. The Rhino fell to the ground, groaning and struggling to get back up.
MJ stood over him, arms crossed while Gwen put a hand to her hip. "Don't bother, Rhino boy." She said, "You're going to jail."
The police arrived on the scene and apprehended The Rhino while Mary Jane and Gwen headed off, having decided to have a Spider-Girls night, hanging out together as good friends and fighting bad guys wherever there were bad guys. For MJ, this night-out was her superhero reward for saving New York from Doctor Octopus' doomsday device.
MJ and Gwen headed over to a coffee shop and bought some coffee for themselves, the girls sat down at a glass table and relaxed, drinking the coffee from their cups slowly with their masks lifted to partially reveal their faces.
People paid no attention to the two superheroes drinking coffee, especially with their masks partially off, this ensured that Mary Jane and Gwen's identities were spared from being exposed. The environment felt very peaceful, no bad guys running around and no danger in the vicinity. However, the peaceful setting was not about to last long.
"So, how's it going there, Spider-Girls...?" A snide voice asked.
Ex-journalist Eddie Brock was in the area, smirking evilly at MJ and Gwen as they drank their coffee, Eddie was drinking what appeared to be cappuccino.
"What do you want, Eddie?" MJ asked.
Eddie chuckled, "I think we all know, Spider-Woman. It's been too long since our last... meeting, so it's time for us to hang out again. We miss all the fun that we have together, our, ah, relationship is special. Wouldn't you agree?"
"You need to quit being a perv as far as I'm concerned..." Gwen told Eddie, "You're creepy and you act strangely around women, despite your respect for them and the fact you're supposed to be dating Anne Weying if I'm correct. So, what is it you really want from us and tell us where you're going with this, Brock?"
A sinister sneer crossed Eddie's face as he stood up. "We want to tango with you." He said in a sinister voice." MJ and Gwen put down their coffee cups and stood, masks on. They knew what was about to go down, they knew what Eddie Brock's presence meant.
Just seconds later, a black-colored substance covered Eddie's body, forming a suit with a creepy white spider symbol on the front and a monstrous live face covered Eddie's head. MJ knew what was up now, this was her old symbiote enemy Venom.
"Eyes, lungs, pancreas..." The alien creature rumbled, "So many snacks and so little time, you are no exception when it comes to snacks, MJ..."
Mary Jane resisted the urge to gag, especially since Venom was disgusting as usual. Venom lunged at the girls, his mouth wide opened and his claws showing. The symbiote swiped at Gwen and MJ, who flipped to evade. The girls prepared for battle, knowing this would be a tough one to take care of despite having battled many countless foes at this point.
"LETS DANCE!" Venom thwipped his wrist and shot out sticky black goo towards Gwen in an attempt to tie her up or drag her towards him. Gwen ducked and thwipped a web back at Venom, hitting him right in the arm, which had no effect on the symbiote.
MJ pounced quickly and punched Venom in the face, causing him to stumble backwards. Venom growled menacingly and tried to claw MJ, but she grabbed his arm and stopped him.
She pushed back and then kneed him in the shin, which had no effect even as Venom let out a surprised "ooh". Then he shrugged and growled at MJ, Gwen flicked her wrist and webbing sprayed in Venom's face, blinding his eyes and allowing the girls to land some hits on him.
Gwen and Mary Jane went to town, punching the moonlight out of Venom while part of the symbiote melted off to reveal Eddie's face while he smiled in a sinister manner.
"We think you suck." He said.
Venom took back control and pushed the girls off of him, he grabbed MJ and tried to bite her head off, but Gwen thwarted this as she swooped in and whacked him upside the head. Venom released his grasp on MJ as he reeled in shock, Mary Jane and Gwen fist-bumped and began tying up the menacing symbiote with their webbing in a team effort.
As the girls worked, Venom tried to tear off the webbing and fight back, but it appeared Gwen and Mary Jane had gotten stronger. They wove around him, tying up the creepy creep until he was helpless in webs.
"CURSE YOU!" Venom raged.
Mary Jane and Gwen flicked more webs that latched to Venom and they lifted him off the ground, swinging him in circles like a lasso and then threw him high across the air. Venom yelled again and vanished somewhere in the darkness.
"Best superhero girls' night out, huh?" MJ asked.
"You bet..." Gwen replied, "Wanna go watch a movie?"
"I guess, as long as it's a romantic superhero film."
Gwen and MJ hugged, then they paid the coffee shop owner some spider cash and headed off to spend the rest of their girls' night elsewhere. Meanwhile, Venom crash landed in a dumpster and crawled his way out in an alleyway, shaking trash off of him. The symbiote subsided and Eddie Brock was his regular self again.
"That was not pleasant to lose." He said angrily, "But we'll get lucky next time, right?"
While Eddie reeled in his defeat, MJ and Gwen made their way to Gwen's penthouse. The girls hit the living room and put on a superhero movie, one that involved a love story between the hero and a lovely maiden. And so, Gwen and MJ had an incredible Spider Girls BFFS Night together they would never forget as tonight was another special night in MJ's life...
