Hello everyone, here is the next one shot

This is from all the way back when Ace first showed up on the boat when Luffy and Sabo was there, and things went a bit differently

Hope you enjoy

Read and relax

Whitebeard looked at the boat that docked on the island they were at. Sabo and Luffy had been with them for a few days now, and he liked the brats, but now, another boat, seeming to be an unfriendly crew, docked at the island they were at, before they moved off the boat, the captain walking in front towards them. "Newgate! I am here to take your status!" Whitebeard almost rolled his eyes. He had no chance, he had a feeling it would still be a bit of a hard fight as it was a large crew, but not as large as his family. They got into stances, preparing to fight.

The enemy was on their way to attack, when a feeling of dread filled him. He was about to look around, when a shape appeared in front of him with a caw to their right, and it had him blink. It was The Ace of Spades. The assassin had a frown and walked forward, towards the enemy, who prepared to fight them. The assassin gave a breath, looking at the enemy. "I give you one chance to leave peacefully." He said calmly. The enemy captain gave a laugh. "And who are you!? I can eat you for breakfast." The enemy must not know who this was. If they did, they wouldn't have been so calm. Or, a few did look scared, they must know. "Eh, boss? That's-!" The enemy captain held a hand out to the one who spoke. "Be quiet!"

The assassin gave a nod. "Then so be it." The enemy captain grinned, obviously not knowing who this was and was ready to win. But he wouldn't win, the assassin Ace of Spades was strong, he knew as much. The enemy then charged, a few more reluctantly than the others, obviously recognizing the assassin. As the enemy neared, his children got ready, and the assassin just sighed, not even in a stance, before he moved quickly, taking out enemy after enemy, having no issues with it, which was amazing to see. He had never seen anyone this fast before, he had no issues fighting the enemy alone. A few he had just looked at and they had frozen in fear, before the assassin either punched, kicked, or sliced. It was obvious none of them would need to fight. Whitebeard swallowed, or maybe they would, if the assassin turned on them. He hoped that wouldn't be the case.

When the last person was down, the assassin headed towards them, a hand out pointing at Sabo and Luffy. "Why are you here!" Sabo shrugged. "Don't yell. We're fine." The assassin frowned more. "And what if I didn't show up?" Luffy smiled. "They would have protected us!" It was as if… the kids knew the assassin. How could that be? The assassin sighed. "And how do you know that?" Sabo shrugged. "They're nice. Don't be so mean. Be calm."

The Ace of Spades moved his hands to his face. "Sabo, I. Am. Not. In. The. Mood." Sabo shrugged. "Does it look like I care? You're never in the mood." Whitebeard still felt scared, no idea how Sabo dared to speak to him like this. He had to know who this was. Luffy gave a goofy smile. "They're taking us home!" The assassin gave an annoyed breath, moving his hands away from his face. "I am supposed to take you home! You are to wait for me! Not go off with the Whitebeards! Do you know how worried I have been!" Sabo shrugged. "I don't care. We are safe here. They wouldn't hurt us." The assassin moved a hand to his face. "And how could you be sure of that?" Sabo hummed. "Because they have been nice up until now, Why change?" The assassin moved his other hand to his face. "Do you know how worried I've been? I couldn't find you. I needed to ask around, and then I heard you waltz off with The Whitebeards. You're not supposed to do that."

Sabo shrugged. Not seeming to care at all. Whitebeard tried to think maybe he could help, to say they didn't want to hurt the children. He was about to start the first syllable, when the assassin moved to look at him, eyes frowning. "You don't speak!" Whitebeard swallowed, nodding. He didn't want to anger the assassin, or anger him more. Sabo crossed his hands. "Don't yell at them! They're nice! Be nice!" The assassin looked at Sabo. "I yell at who I want to, when I want to." Sabo rolled his eyes. "And I don't care, don't yell. You're scaring them." The assassin's eyes frowned a bit. "They should be scared. They took you." Sabo moved a hand up. "No, they didn't! We went willingly! Don't be so stubborn!" The assassin held a hand out. "I am not being stubborn." Sabo nodded. "Yes you are. We are staying here."

The assassin sighed. "And what should I do then? Leave home alone?" Sabo shrugged. "Or, you can stay. We are headed home." The assassin snorted. "Yeah, yeah, because they want me here. They are terrified of me." Sabo shrugged. "Who isn't?" The assassin sighed. "Sabo, be reasonable. Come with me." Sabo hummed. "Nah, I'm staying here until we're home." The assassin moved a hand to his face. "Okay, I am needed apparently, I just found out. I will be back in two hours, if you don't have a reason as to why you should stay, I will force you back home with me. You got that? Two hours." Sabo nodded. "Two hours. I will have a reason." The assassin nodded. "Okay, see you two then." Then the assassin was gone in black smoke.

As the assassin was gone, Sabo looked at Luffy. "We need a reason to stay." Luffy nodded. "We do, I like it here." Whitebeard took a breath, looking at the two kids. "How… how do you know the assassin?" Sabo hummed. "Oh, right. I might have forgotten to mention that my brother, Ace, is the Ace of Spades. Oops." Whitebeard blinked, and Thatch moved a hand up. "Excuse me?! What! He's your brother?! In what world is he kind!" Sabo shrugged. "As long as you've done nothing to piss him off, he's nice to you. Have you done anything?" Whitebeard blinked, and looked at Izou, who swallowed and looked scared. "I- I might have threatened him a bit." Sabo blinked. "Oh… He didn't look mad though, so it can't have been that bad. Did you say sorry?" Izou nodded and Sabo hummed. "Then it's fine. Ace is a nice person. He is. He can just be a bit terrifying." Thatch blinked. "A bit?! Did you see how he plowed that enemy crew!" Sabo blinked. "That was nothing. Have you seen him mad? That is terrifying." Whitebeard took a breath. "Maybe you should go home with him. I don't want to anger him." Sabo sighed. "This is the issue with being his brother; people get scared of us and him. I promise, he wouldn't be mad since we want to stay. Maybe he will get a bit miffed at me, but that's it. He is really nice. I promise." Luffy nodded. "Yeah! He is the best brother there is!"

Whitebeard wasn't sure what to believe. Sabo sighed. "He won't be mad at you. But we really do need a reason to stay, since I really want to stay until we're home. Ace needs a reason." Whitebeard wasn't sure what to do or say, he was scared of the assassin. "Wait, Ace of Spades is just 18?" Sabo nodded. "Yeah. He is. He's a natural and his fruit helps him a bit. But he is amazing in every way there is. Most people are terrified of him." Whitebeard got that, and he was with them. The assassin was scary. Sabo hummed. "A reason to stay… A reason to stay… How about, you promised us a feast! You have that at times! Shanks said so!" Whitebeard swallowed. He wasn't sure what to do. Sabo sighed. "Ace is not going to be mad at you. At the most, he will be mad at me, and I can handle that." Whitebeard nodded, and was on his way to speak, when Sabo continued. "Don't be afraid. Ace has no reason to be mad at you guys. Just please, give him a chance. Shanks likes him, he is afraid of him, but he knows the rules." Whitebeard gave a small nod. "Rules?" Sabo nodded. "Yeah. If you do nothing to mess with him, he won't mess with you. He has no reason to be mad at you. Trust me when I say that, because it is the truth. If not, ask Shanks and he can vouch for me." Okay, he believed that.

"Okay, we can tell we have a feast for you two." Said the captain, and his children blinked. "Pops," Started Thatch. "Are you sure?" Whitebeard nodded, he was. Luffy smiled. "Yes! Can Ace stay too! That would be awesome!" That had Whitebeard unsure again, before he decided he trusted Sabo. "Yes, he can stay." Izou blinked. "Pops!" Whitebeard shook his head. "It's fine, I am sure he isn't mad at you." Sabo nodded. "Yeah, if he had been, you would have known. If you apologized, you're safe. I promise." Izou swallowed, but nodded. "O-okay." Sabo nodded. "Just, don't be too scared of him. He won't hurt you. He has no reason to." Everyone nodded, and Whitebeard would believe the kid.

Things were calm after that, a few, or most, including himself, were nervous. So when almost 2 hours had passed, Sabo spoke up. "Okay, so Ace will be here soon. Be calm." Everyone nodded and Whitebeard did his best to prepare himself for this. After that, it was just 15 minutes before the raven showed up, and as he did, the raven cawed, and The Ace of Spades appeared on deck, looking at Sabo. "So, you got a reason?" Asked the assassin, and Sabo nodded. "Yes. They are holding a feast for us, so we need to stay to celebrate it." The assassin sighed. "Why do I have a feeling this is made up." Sabo hummed. "Even if it is, there is a feast to be held. So, we're staying. It is a reason." The assassin sighed. "Fine, stay." Luffy smiled. "You can stay too!" The assassin lifted an eyebrow. "And, do they want that?" Sabo shrugged. "They don't mind it."

The assassin sighed. "Sabo, people don't like me. Accept it." Sabo sighed as well. "Give them a chance. They said it was fine!" Luffy gave a puppy eyes look to Ace. "Please stay. It will be so awesome!" The assassin sighed, a hand moving to his nose. "Fine, I'll give it a chance. But I can leave when I want to." Sabo nodded. "That's fine. Just, give it a shot. It's nice here." The assassin nodded, looking at Sabo. "Okay. But when we get home, don't get stubborn and say you want to stay." Sabo shook his head. "I won't. When we get home, we will leave." The assassin nodded. "Good." Sabo and Luffy smiled with that, obviously glad their brother would stay. The captain did see his children were nervous, but he was sure things would go fine the next 3 days. If Sabo said the assassin was kind and wouldn't harm them, he would believe that.

The day then went by fine, everyone being wary of the assassin, but it went by fine. And when evening came and he headed out on deck, not being able to sleep, and found the assassin at the front of the ship, he headed over. He was curious about the assassin. "Your brothers asleep?" Ace nodded, closing his eyes as a gust of wind came. "Yeah, they need it." Whitebeard nodded. "I need to ask, for him. Are you mad at Izou?" Ace shook his head. "No, he knew his mistake, and I knew you didn't know about it. I wasn't going to mention it, but he had his guns out, the reason I did." Whitebeard nodded, that made sense. "I hope you know I would never hurt your brothers." Ace gave a breath. "I know. You're honorable people. I am just a bit… protective of them." That was understandable. "Why did you decide to stay?" Ace hummed. "Luffy would have been mad otherwise, and I don't usually stay with people who know who I am, as people are afraid of me. I'm used to being alone." Whitebeard nodded, that made sense, and he got it. Even he was wary of the assassin.

"You're strong," Started the captain. "For being 18. I would have never guessed that." Ace shrugged. "I have done this for over a decade." Whitebeard nodded, he must have started young, and been amazing at it, probably a prodigy. Ace chuckled. "There is a reason for the mask. To hide my appearance, my identity; my age." Whitebeard nodded, it made sense. If he was only 18, a mask was smart, if not, many might not take him seriously if he was young. Whitebeard might not be the smartest in the world, but he knew who not to mess with, and Ace was at the top of that list. He knew the assassin was strong, most likely stronger than him. Not that he wanted to find that out, as it would mean they would fight.

For now, it would be interesting to have the assassin with them
