Chapter 1:
It was that time of year at Huxley High School, Prom was just two weeks away. Most students were excited with most girls hoping to get asked with a "promposal". Tina Belcher being one of them, she was in her Junior year. She was hoping that Jimmy Jr, her on and off boyfriend and crush since middle school would ask her to prom.
Tina's POV:
It's currently 7:52 am 3 minutes before I had to be getting to first period.I was getting my english textbook when I see Jimmy Jr walking by and I call out his name. He then walks towards me. "Hi Jimmy Jr" I said. "Hey Tina" he says back to me his lisp barely noticeable anymore. "So prom is coming up'' I said, dropping a hint, hoping that he has a promposal planned for me.
"Ya what about it?" Jimmy Jr says When I heard that I thought that maybe he was still planning the promposal. " Are you planning on asking someone" I said " Yes I'm planning on asking her during lunch" he says. "Please let that it be me" I said to myself "everything ok" Jimmy Jr asks me. "Ya I'm fine" I said back. The five minute bell rang " So I'll see you in class Jimmy Jr ' I said as I closed my locker and headed to english class. I got to english and took a seat in the second row 4 seats from the front. I was thinking to myself " what does Jimmy Jr have planned for me, I'm so excited I can't wait!".
"Lunch was just 3 and a half hours away that's too long to wait ", I thought to myself. English went good it's one of my favorite classes aside from creative writing. After english class I had history, then math, gym and chemistry. Finally it was lunch time, the moment was here. As I walked out of chemistry I was feeling so excited and nervous at the same time. I walked to my locker to put my chemistry textbook away. I opened my locker and put my textbook in. I looked into the mirror that I had hung up on the door of my locker and tried to tell myself to not be so nervous.
After about five minutes I started to walk to the cafeteria. When I walked in, I saw students grabbing their lunch and some going to sit with their friends and some sitting alone. I stood against one of the walls with the two doors leading outside about 8 feet away. I remembered my conversation with Jimmy Jr earlier that morning, he said " I'm asking her today at lunch" I was really hoping that he was asking me. I decided to go sit at an empty table in front of me.
I saw Jimmy Jr walking in with a bouquet of roses and a poster board with bright red letters reading ' Flowers are the second most beautiful thing, can I go with the 1st?". I started walking towards him but I stopped myself when I saw him walking towards Emma Rojas, a girl who was in my math class. I was looking around seeing some students recording it on their phones and some other students looking at what was going on. I then look at Emma who says yes while smiling and then takes the roses, everyone starts awwing and clapping at with what they have witnessed. I felt my heart break into a million pieces and tears starting to form. I walked towards one of the doors with tears falling down my face, to a tree that I like to sit under when the weather was nice. Little did I know there was someone following me.
