Zeke's Pov
It was 7:52 am when I walked through the front doors of Huxley High School. My first period was english . I had that class with J-ju and Tina. Now that I mention Tina where to start. Well I moved to Wagstaff in the middle of the 7th grade and I met her on my first day. She was the person who showed me around. My first thought of her is that she was really nice and pretty. I met Jimmy Jr and became best friends with him. It seemed that Tina had a big crush on him. It made me sad because I had a crush on her. As time went on I hid my crush on Tina because J-Ju is my best friend and I didn't want to affect my friendship with him by confessing my crush on Tina.
` Tina and J-Ju started dating during Freshman year, they broke up after about 4 months. It hurt me to see Tina so heartbroken after the breakup. Within the last almost 4 years I've had a crush on her. She sadly didn't like me because I was always with we're in Junior Year of High School. Things between Tina and J-Ju were "off" right now. I was thinking about asking her to be my date to prom. Back to the current time It was now 7:53 am.
I was walking to class when I saw Tina and J-Ju, I overheard them talking. I finally got to class at 7:56 am. I took my seat in the back by the window. I didn't really like english that much. I found it boring. During english J-Ju and I were talking about how he was going to ask someone to prom during lunch. I asked him who it was,he told me that I would have to wait and see.
Lunchtime had finally come. I walked out of the Gym and into the cafeteria waiting for J-Ju by the door. I saw Tina standing against the wall. I was thinking that she was looking for J-Ju. About 5 minutes pass and I finally see him walking into the cafeteria. He was holding a bouquet of roses in one hand and a posterboard in the other. I walk up to him and follow him. I could tell that some people were looking at J-Ju and saw what was happening. I felt the room grow silent and some people start recording on their phones. I could see that Tina saw J-Ju and started to walk towards him but stopped when he approached Emma Rojas. I see that one of Emma's friends tells her to turn around. She looks and sees J-Ju holding a bouquet of roses and a posterboard in bright red letters that read: " flowers are the second most beautiful thing, can I go with the 1st?" I could see that Tina was heartbroken with the sight in front of her. I see her walk towards the doors that lead outside.
I started to walk away as I heard awwing and clapping. After I go outside I see Tina walking towards this one tree that she likes to sit under when the weather is nice. I decided to go after her and try to comfort her. I slowly approach her and sit besides her. "Are you ok T-bird?" I asked her. She looked up at me, I saw tears running down her face, I wiped her tears with my index finger."No I'm not ok I just saw Jimmy Jr asking Emma Rojas to prom instead of me" she says.
I put my arm around her shoulder . "It's ok cry it all out I'm here for you and I always will be". Five minutes pass by and she looks at me and says " Thank you for being here comforting me". " You're welcome T-bird" I replied. "I'm sorry for all of the times I was ever rude to you" said Tina. " It's ok, I forgive you" I replied.
I thought to myself: I should just take my chances and ask Tina to Prom, I've waited too long to do it. " Hey Tina, there's something that I've been wanting to ask you for a long time," I said, looking a bit nervous. " What is it?" she replied. " Will you be my date to prom?" Tina looked at me shocked , I waited for a minute until she spoke up and said " Ya sure" I just wanted to scream at the top of my lungs how happy I was, Instead I just said ok.
Lunch was over in about 25 minutes and I don't think that neither of us have eaten anything. Luckily I had a sandwich and a blue blast flavored gatorade in my backpack. I offered Tina half of my sandwich, she accepted it. I drank my gatorade and she drank a bottle of water that she had in her backpack. She looks at me and smiles a little and I pretend not to notice. The bell to go to 6h period rang, we got up and she hugged me and said " Thank you for coming to comfort me, I feel better. " Your welcome, anytime, do you want to hang out after school I have the day off (oh ya I forgot to mention at the beginning, I got a part time job at Bob's Burgers the summer to my junior year because I had a secret talent more like passion for cooking which I discovered back when I was in the 8th grade and Mr B was my substitute teacher in home ec. He became my mentor when I started working there) "Sure, ya I'm free since Gene and Louise were going to hang out with their friends ". Ok so we'll meet at the front of the school at the end of the day" I told her. We then walked into the school in the opposite directions to 6th period. I can't wait for after school I thought to myself.
Tina's POV:
I get to the tree and sit and just cry my eyes out. A few seconds later I saw someone approaching me, I was shocked to see who it was, Zeke. " Why is he coming towards me. " Are you ok T-bird?" he asked me. I still had tears running down my face. He wiped the tears running down my face with his index finger. I told him that I saw Jimmy Jr asking Emma Rojas to prom. He put his arm around me. He told me to cry it all out and that he was here for me and he always will be. It felt nice to have a shoulder to cry on, even if it was Zeke. Thank you for comforting me, I said to Zeke. " Your welcome T-bird.
I was thinking about all of the times that I was rude to him when all he was is nice to me. I acted like that because I wanted to spend some time with Jimmy Jr. I chose to apologize to him. He forgave me and then asked me to prom, I was shocked hearing that. I said yes because I really wanted to go to prom. I haven't eaten lunch, lucky for me Zeke split a sandwich that he had in his backpack. I looked at him and smiled a bit, I don't know why. We enjoyed our lunch until the bell rang to go to 6th period. I hugged him and thanked him for comforting me. He asked me if I wanted to hang out with him after school, since I had nothing to do I accepted. After that we went inside and walked our separate ways.
Author's note: I know that this chapter was longer than the first one it's likely that the rest of the chapters will be long, I might do other characters' POV. The first chapter was just the introduction. This story will have 4 or 5 chapters , I will try to update as often as possible.
