Nothing.

That is all what the lonely soul can describe what it sees. Nothing. The soul couldn't tell how long it had been trapped in the void since there was nothing around him to tell. But that wasn't something the soul was worrying about. In fact, it was now thinking about how it can get out.

The soul tried moving around in the void. It move up, down, left, right, forward, backwards, but it was proven to be pointless when it realized it was going literally nowhere, so that didn't work. The soul tried to think to of another escape plan, if was even possible. As it thinks more and more, a thought suddenly reminded him something. It's past life, or in other words, his past life, is still intact. He remembers his mother, his older siblings, their home, everything.

And then it hit him. The sirens, the screams, the image of wrecked cars, the sound of the heart monitor, and the cries of his mother and older siblings screaming his name. He remembered everything that had previously transpired.

And now he's beginning to panic.

'No, I don't want to end like this. Not like this.' The soul inwardly murmured in devastation. 'This isn't fair. I still had much to live for; I still had to live for my family...'

At this point, the soul, or better named as Cayden, was at the brink of leaking tears in his eyes. Everyone he loved and cherished, no matter how much he would had to bring himself to dislike them, is gone. They were the reason why he kept going through life. He listened to his family, he learned from them, he took their advice, and it was all proven meaningless in the end.

"Take me back." The soul commanded to anyone who could hear him in the void.

Nothing responded.

"Take me back, now!"

Once again, nothing responded

"TAKE ME BACK TO MY FAMILY, GODDAMN IT!" The soul screamed angrily into the void. It was so loud and powerful he could his own voice, echoing throughout the plane of nothingness.

But even when he becomes angry and screams across the abyss, especially when he puts his entire heart into his vocal chords, the result remains the same...

Nothing responded.

After seconds, if time even mattered in this place, the soul finally came into the conclusion that he was, in fact, truly alone. No one to speak to him and no one to mourn for him. Just him and his own voice. And with that, he let himself be consumed with sorrow and his own tears drip down his face, knowing that he's stuck in this empty space he now calls his own hell...

...Or so he thought.

As he wept, Cayden begins to see something he never thought he would see in the void. He saw a little, bright light in his view. Physical light!

'Wait, it's getting closer.' The soul said. And he was right. The light was actually approaching closer to him. The soul felt cold as he floated in the darkness, but as the light approached him, he felt cold air being replaced with warmth.

The light then stopped in front of eyes, making the soul think of options of what to do with it. It has been a while since he saw light or even felt it, so he carefully thought of what to do to keep it in his sight while he spend his eternity in the darkness. Before he could have the chance to do anything, the strangest thing happened.

The light started to get brighter and brighter by the second. Weirdly enough, as the brightness was increasing, so was the warmth, and it was increasing fast! He tried getting away from it, but it he had forgotten that he couldn't move earlier; he can only watch as his vision had gotten brighter as time passes.

'St-stop it! It's too much; too much light!' Cayden pleaded, but the light only reacts to his words by glowing brighter.

The soul couldn't handle the glow. It was intense for him. Moments went by as the light becomes brighter, and brighter, and brighter!

Until he saw only white...

Somewhere in Another World

With his vision was still blinded by the intense light, Cayden had his mind filled with questions. But out of all the questions he wanted answered, the foremost that was on his mind was "what the hell happened".

Fortunately, as if something read his mind, his view starts to get clearer.

What use to be nothing but white and black, he now sees color. In fact, Cayden can see a blue sky, with clouds in all shapes and sizes, and standing above him were tall that had same luscious green he last remember when he was first alive.

'Where am I?' Cayden wonders to himself in his thoughts before he tries to get up. Emphasis on tries.

'Why can't I feel my limbs right now?' Cayden internally question himself.

Cayden tried to move his legs and arms, but it felt almost as if they were nonexistent. This made him worried, a lot. So, he move his 'head' upright, which had also felt weird since he his neck also felt nonexistent, but still, he succeeded. Checking his own surroundings, he sees that he was actually in a forest of sorts. For some reason, Cayden thought the trees were bigger he remembered, if his memories count. He then looked to his right and saw a nearby pond.

"Water!" Cayden said lowly to himself. It had been a while since he had consume anything, despite not having the feeling to do so, which felt strange to him. Cayden, however, didn't pay no mind to it; his only worry is to consume something.

He then remembered that his limbs were nonexistent, so he thought of what to do in order to move. He tested out if rolling his 'head' forward would do the trick, but only succeeded in putting his face on the grassy floor. So after failing his first option, he rolled his 'head' backwards quite easily, much to his surprise. From the motion of the movement from the roll, his 'head' felt light and mobile.

So, since his first stupid plan didn't work so well, Cayden put his next plan to action: bouncing. Cayden knows this sounded way stupider than the last plan, but it's all he got. Without wasting anytime, Cayden lowered his 'head' to build up force to jump, and with that same force, Cayden propelled his 'head' upward into the air, and to his surprise, he jumped really high to the point where he could one of the branches of the trees.

"HOLY SHIT!" Cayden yelled out loudly, surprised by his own motion he just performed while also having a fearful expression on his face. He then began descending towards the ground, expecting to have broken bones on impact. This was proved unlikely as he landed back on ground level unscathed.

"Okay, no broken bones or any sign of pain. I think this could work in my favor." Cayden said with satisfaction.

He not only learned he could still jump, but he also learned that his 'head' felt surprisingly rather bouncy as well. Full of his newfound confidence, Cayden bounced his way towards the water source with glee. As he approached the pond, Cayden began feeling proud of his accomplishment, but he didn't wait any longer until he can drink the water. He then dipped his 'head' into the water and drunk the water without a second thought, letting the cool liquid drain down his mouth. After a minute of drinking, Cayden raised himself back from the pond, feeling nothing but ecstasy from consuming the liquid.

That was, until it was replaced with confusion when he saw his 'head' in the reflection of the water.

Cayden saw a red, spherical, limbless body that looks to be made out of rubber. It had huge white eyes with no pupils, and have what seemed to be a row of sharp teeth. What made this really uncomforting is that the ball-thing was copying his exact movements.

"The fuck? Is that me? What am I?"

As he continues moving his rubber body with the reflection following him, his confusion slowly turns to fear. Cayden was genuinely lost of words right now. First, he lived his entire life as a human, then he had woked up in a pitch-black space before being literally flashed banged by God-only-knows-what, and now he's born in a body of some type of monster!

He was truly at lost of himself before noticing something small at lower-right corner of his vision. It looked like an icon of sorts, at least in his eyes.

'What's that doing there?' Cayden asked himself as he focuses on the icon. "It doesn't look interesting one bit, but why is it there?"

The now-turned monster was about to pretend it wasn't there and move on until the same icon suddenly disappeared and replaced by numbers, a health bar, a mana bar, and other information.

'The fuck is all of this? Yeah, now I actually have to be dreaming right now.' Cayden spoke to himself inwardly as looks at the info in front of his is white eyes. Cayden then took further inspection into the new data presenting before him.

*STATUS*

LVL 1 Cayden Hill

Race: Monster

Type: Inorganic

Species: Balloon Monster (Red)

'Wait, I'm in a video game? How the hell I get from a black-pitched hell into a damn video game!? Also, of all things I could be right now, I'm... a BALLOON!?'

Cayden couldn't help but feel overwhelmed knowing he's in a game, possibly in one of those MMO's he heard about. Cayden hadn't know much about it, but he heard most of them revolved around RPG elements he have knowledge about, such as levels and stats, which brings him to his next problem.

'Let's see what my "stats" looks right now, then I'll go from there.'

The Red Balloon turned his attention to his stats and was astonished by how low his numbers was, mostly his DEF.

EXP: 0/15

HP: 96/96

MP: 117/117

ATK: 11

DEF: 5

MGC ATK: 12

MGC DEF: 6

SPD: 10

'Good God, I'll be lucky if I'm still living by the time I reach level 5!'

This trouble Cayden, in a lot of ways. The first was that he had has no idea what world he is in with no one to ask mind you, possibly no civilization. Then, the second thing was his so called "stats" which was laughably low. And the third was if he truly died and was reborn into another form, then his chance of getting back to home was slim to none.

Suddenly, the Red Balloon heard a bush rustling beside him, which caught him off guard. Cayden faced towards the bush with curiosity, yet remained cautious. He had a million thoughts of what would pop out; a wolf, a coyote, hopefully not a bear, and, if he was more honest to himself, he would've have terrified.

After seconds of staring at the bush, an orange creature jumped out with fangs flared at Cayden. Not wasting a second, Cayden barely jumped out of the way from the creature's jaws. The Red Balloon landed back on ground level and quickly turned back to get a good look at what he's facing.

*LV 1 Orange Balloon

'God, effing, damn it. I just got here, and I'm already fighting?'

Cayden can see the face of the creature, and could already tell it was far from being friendly. If anything, it was more grumpy and pissed off. From the glaring eyes, to flashing fangs. He doesn't know why it's acting like this, but he didn't care neither; it was really all Cayden needed to know the creature's intentions.

Without any delay, the Orange Balloon launched itself towards Cayden with its fangs flared once again, but Cayden was ready for it this time. All he needed is an opening. He waited until the creature was close enough before Cayden bounced and dodged a bite.

This was the opening he was waiting for; the creature left itself open. With his own fangs flared, the Red Balloon descended upon the creature and chomped down hard on the angry Balloon. The creature wailed in pain from his bite.

'I'm far from done with your grumpy ass.' Cayden growled inwardly while gripping tightly to the Balloon.

Knowing the creature wasn't going to let up the Red Balloon open his mouth once more before he sent down onto the other Balloon's rubber skin, except he put more force into this bite this time. The other balloon didn't even had time to yell in pain before he popped into pieces.

"And stay down!"

*EXP: 3

"Really, that's all I got from one kill? This is stupid already."

With the aggressor slain into bits, Cayden calmed himself. The Red Balloon planned on wandering around the forest, and find a person to talk before it was pursued by the opposing monster. Now, he can finally move into action and figure where exactly is he.

Or so he thought.

Just when Cayden was about to move on, a bush rustles in front of him, but unlike last time, he heard more bushes making noises from all around, putting the Red Balloon out of ease once more. Suddenly, three of them jumped out from their hiding places before they growled and eyed at the Red Balloon. angrily.

"Aw, shit."
