Chapter 4: Yoga at LA Fitness

One cold last Saturday of January 2022, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri at LA Fitness in Monroeville for yoga. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. "Doing yoga is a very good exercise to relieve stress, especially in this cold weather," James told us. "Uh-huh," Henri agreed. "It is looking like January may end up being the first month since August to have the stage when we were best friends win," I told everyone. "Hopefully, the rest of the winter brings a much milder pattern than we have been experiencing!" "We'll see, Angel," Sarah told me. "Let's also see what the Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil has to say this coming Wednesday," I stated. "Oh, right, Groundhog Day is next week," Sarah remembered. An instructor named Delilah showed us all different kinds of yoga poses, including how to hold them for a prolonged period of time. Our favorite one was the "Tree" pose, in which we held onto a wall for a long period of time while balancing like trees. "Yoga can also warm us up, like listening to Carlos Santana every weekend," I pointed out. "I was the same age as Samantha Mifflin and Bethany Pearson were back in 2004, and I revisited the Discovery Kids magazine that Casey Sobert used to be in charge of while visiting with the Sobert-Mifflin clan numerous times this week." "Middle school was a rough time for me, as well, but still fun," Sarah stated. "I was jealous of James for getting asked out to a high school dance." "That's because you were not quite in high school yet, Sarah," James pointed out. "I was stressing out about Boy Scouts at the time, at a very young age," Henri added. "But, that wasn't even the worst part of 8th grade," Sarah pointed out. "We all know what you are going to talk about, Sarah," I happily predicted. "And, I believe that the Sobert sisters have a picture of this in their scrapbook!" "Wait a minute, do they?" Sarah asked me. "Yes, they do," I replied. "It was when Nathan cheated off of my history exam and played innocent," Sarah explained. "Oooh, you gotta hate when that happens!" James pointed out. "I know, because he ended up getting detention for both cheating and lying," Sarah continued. "Nathan was like a Disney villain, and so was Benedict," I pointed out. "I don't even know if Benedict is still alive, or not, although that is not the subject of focus here!" "I don't even know why the Sobert sisters would have a picture of that in their scrapbook," Sarah stated. "Maybe because I tried to help you out that day and save your butt!" I exclaimed. "It was also beneficial for me to have a meal plan of things like waffles for breakfast and cobb salad for lunch, and Alex is making us chicken fajitas for dinner after she gets back from the nutrition class in Pitt, and Carly is with her." "She is taking a nutrition class on Saturdays now?" Sarah asked me. "Of course," I replied. "But, I am still on my mentor, Jenna's meal plan, so I will be eating dinner with them tonight." After yoga class was over, Sarah, James, and Henri drove me to my mentor, Jenna Moser and her sister, Jill's apartment in Point Breeze. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Bye, guys!" "Bye!"
