Kairi the Moon Fairy

"Mickey, we need to talk," Riku said on the gummiphone.

"What is it?" Mickey asked.

"Kairi had a trip down memory lane. Apparently Kairi's memories of living in Radiant Garden are false. She never lived in Radiant Garden."

"What?" Donald squawked in the background, "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, we even checked the records at Radiant Garden. There's no trace of her ever living in Radiant Garden. But Mickey you said that you saw her in Radiant Garden."

"I did, I-…" Mickey trailed off, "At least I think I did."

Donald and Goofy looked at him confused. As did Riku, "You think you did?"

"Lately, that memory hasn't been clear," Mickey said, "When I try to look back on it, it feels like there are pieces missing or pieces that shouldn't be there."

"Kairi said the same thing happened to her," Riku thought, "We should get Namine to look at you and soon."

"I understand, but why soon?" Mickey asked.

"Because, Kairi's family is alive."

"What!" Donald and Goofy declared in shock. Riku was glad he wasn't there in person, he was sure that would have hurt his ears.

"Kairi's family is alive," Riku repeated, "She has a Mom, a Dad, she even has a brother and sister. And she wants to find them. You and Aqua were the only ones who saw her as a kid, the only ones who went to her world."

"I see," Mickey nodded understanding. Then he realized something, "Riku where are you right now, it doesn't look like Radiant Garden?" Donald and Goofy looked, and true to the King's word, they saw the sunset hues of Twilight Town behind Riku.

"Well," Riku looked to the side awkwardly, "When Kairi got her memories back, she wanted something. Really bad."

Kairi slurped the last bit of broth. When she finally finished her last bowl, she stacked it on the tower of bowels she had made.

Namine tried not to stare at the pile of fifteen stacked bowls. She was still contemplating how Kairi could eat so much.

"I was almost afraid the Bistro didn't serve ramen. I haven't had it in such a long time." Kairi said before taking a drink. Currently Kairi had her hood up, she was also wearing mirrored sunglasses that hid her eyes. Namine was certainly surprised by Kairi's appearance. That led to Kairi wearing her hood up and wearing sunglasses.

Kairi was really insecure about her new appearance. At the moment they were waiting for the Twilight gang to show up. They already called ahead and explained that Kairi looked different and stressed that they could not stare!

Although Namine didn't think she wouldn't get some kind of reaction from their friends. Kairi wasn't ugly. She was still pretty, but her appearance was just… different. No they knew met anyone with pure white eyes.

Namine still looked the same, clear skin and blue eyes. Apparently, she really was a separate person from Kairi now. Namine was glad, she also felt a little happy she and Kairi looked different now.

"Hey guys," the two looked up to see the Twilight gang: Hayner, Pence, and Olette. As well as Roxas, Axel, and Xion.

They walked towards the two girls, Kairi adjusted her hood to cover her face better.

"Hey, you two," Axel greeted.

Kairi didn't look up, but she could feel everyone looking at her. Namine told them that her appearance changed, and odds were wearing her hood up was a dead give away.

"Hey guys," Kairi murmured.

A beat of awkward silence passed.

"So," Roxas tried.

"We heard that," Hayner picked up.

"That your memories of your early childhood were false," Olette read the room.

"Yeah they were," Kairi confirmed, not looking up.

"We also heard that, you have a new look," Xion said.

Kairi made a noise that sounded like a wounded animal.

"Kairi, it's not that bad," Namine said with an awkward smile.

"When Riku saw me, he thought I was blind, when you saw me you nearly jumped out of your skin like I was a heartless," Kairi reminded.

"I was just surprised," Namine said, "You don't look bad, you look different… It's a good different. You look like mo-…" Namine then caught herself before correcting herself, "You look like your mom."

"No, it looks better on my mom," Kairi said. Her mother's eyes were gentle and kind. Kairi's were just awkward.

"Oh come on," Axel tried, "I'm sure I look freakier than everyone here."

"Just show us Kairi please," Olette asked in a gentle tone, "No one is going to laugh or judge," she shot a dirty look at her male friends before adding, "Right?"

"Yeah," Pence said, "No judgment."

Kairi sighed, "Okay," she took off her hood, "Just… Don't scream." Then finally Kairi took off her sunglasses and opened her eyes.

Everyone starred, surprise was clearly written on their faces. Well, at least they weren't screaming.

"They're so…" Hayner said, "White."

Olette smacked him.

"I know it looks weird," Kairi sighed.

"No, it looks," Olette quickly thought of something nice to say, "Exotic!"

"Like a ghost," Pence said. It was his turn to get smacked.

"Namine's right it's not bad," Xion assured.

Axel suddenly leaned in. Kairi leaned back uncomfortably, "Uh… Axel?"

"I knew I wasn't crazy," Axel said.

"What?" Kairi asked.

"When we sparred on your birthday, I thought your eyes looked different, like this," Axel explained.

"Oh," Kairi said. Then she thought back, "Well, Neji did say that the Byakugan could awaken after long serious training. I guess Keyblade training counts."

"The Byaku- what?" Roxas asked.

"It's a power that runs on my mom's side of the family," Kairi explained, "I think I remember Mom and Grandpa talking about it when I was a kid. I think I was supposed to train with my Mom's family if I got it… well, now I got it."

"So it's a power that runs in the family?" Pence asked amazed.

"One of the most the powerful visual jutsu's," Kairi bragged.

"Jutsu's."

"Uh… nevermind," Kairi said, "I wish Riku would get back here already. I need to talk to the King about my home world."

"You're that desperate to go home?" Hayner asked.

"Of course, my family is alive! I want to see them, my Mom, my Dad, my little brother and sister… I didn't even know I had a sister, she was born after I…" Kairi trailed off and looked down. After I got kidnapped.

Kairi felt so stupid. Luxu or whoever he was, took her away from her family, and she let it happen.

Kairi watched as her Mommy began looking over Boruto. Boruto started crying again. She hoped this wouldn't take long. Daddy was coming home from a long mission, that meant a dinner to Ichiraku's. They always had Ichiraku's when Daddy came home from a long mission.

Kairi began to swing her arms around in boredom when she spotted Luxu. He was standing under a tree a good distance away from them.

"It's Luxu," Kairi looked back at her Mom. She was busy with Boruto, Kairi didn't see anything wrong with playing with Luxu while she waited, "Mommy can I go play with Luxu?"

Mommy didn't look up but answered, "Okay."

Kairi then skipped over to the ghost, "Hi Luxu."

"Hey kiddo," Luxu squatted down, "What are you and your folks up to?"

"Daddy's coming home today, when we see him we're going to Ichiraku's for ramen," Kairi jumped up in excitement.

"Sounds fun, so what was your Dad's mission?"

Kairi looked at him confused.

"What did he do on his mission?"

That was a good question. Kairi didn't know what her Dad did on missions. She was always told that he was the best so he got the really hard ones. Usually when he came back from long missions he was tired.

"You know your Dad puts himself in danger on those missions right?"

Danger? Kairi hated the thought of her Dad being in danger.

"But he's always fine when he comes back?"

"That because of the demon in him right?"

Kairi remembered. Her father told her that he had a friend inside of him, named Kurama. Whenever her Dad got hurt, Kurama healed him fast.

Now that Kairi thought about it. The adults did sometimes come back hurt. Scratches, bandages, were seen on their bodies. They always assured her that it didn't hurt… but Kairi knew that was a lie adults told.

Her father did come back tired. She recalled a certain time.

Kairi woke up. It was still night, but she had to go to the bathroom.

After she washed her hands and got some water, she started to go back to her room, but she saw the lights on downstairs. That was weird, she knew Mommy was in bed.

Kairi went down the stairs and saw the living room light on. She peered inside and saw her father. Sleeping on the chair. His snoring giving it away.

Kairi went back to her room and pulled the blanked off the bed. She dragged it behind her as she went back downstairs. She didn't want Daddy to be cold.

Kairi went into the living room and up to her father. She gently tapped his shoulder. Naruto woke with a start, but calmed down when he realized he was in his living room.

"Daddy."

Naruto looked down to see Kairi putting her blanket.

He gave a tired chuckle before pulling her into his lap, "You're tucking me in now?"

Kairi just hugged him in response.

Her father never had bandages… Except for his arm.

"Daddy's arm…"

"You catch on," Luxu said, "Your Dad's arm, got hurt. The kind of hurt that never gets better."

Kairi's eyes widened, never gets better? Her father got hurt and never got better? Kairi felt tears began to form. Luxu began to rub her head.

"Hey, don't cry. Do you want to help them?"

Kairi nodded, "But, I'm too little, I'm not even allowed to join the Academy yet."

"Well, being a ninja is good and all, but they're not the strongest in the universe."

Kairi looked at him like he was crazy, "Yes they are."

"No they're not, you can be one of the strongest in the universe, but… it might take a while."

Kairi looked at her mom, "How much a while?"

"Oh don't worry, you'll barely notice they're gone and when you're done, you can go straight back to them." Luxu extended his hand.

Kairi nodded and trusted Luxu's words. She reached out took his hand.

Kairi contemplated why she trusted him. He vanished every time her parents or an adult showed up. The creepy coat should had been a dead giveaway. Kairi didn't miss the fact that Luxu, was wearing an organization coat. Did Xehanort stalk her, her whole life?

Kairi then recalled her fathers' arm. The one always covered in bandages. Kairi did try asking him once, but he always avoided the question.

"Hey, it's okay," Olette said, "You'll find them."

"I know," Kairi said, "I need to find them. I need to help my brother, Boruto."

"What's wrong?"

"Well, the best way to describe it is Dad got a promotion. And this new position makes him busy, and Boruto feels like he's being ignored. I don't know if it's that bad, but Boruto is hurting over this."

"That happens to all children of successful people," Pence shrugged.

"Well, my Dad's not a CEO or something."

"What is he?"

"Well, if memory serves me," Kairi rubbed the back of her head, "He's the military leader of the country."

"Military leader?"

"That's what Uncle Shikimaru said, Mom said they're one of the leaders of the country."

"Your Dad leads a country?" Axel asked astonished.

"He's one of the leaders… but yeah, he's a big deal."

"Wow," Xion said, "So you really are a princess."

"It's an appointed position," Kairi crossed her arms. She hated being called a princess.

"Okay, we're here," Riku approached the group. He noticed everyone, but he also noticed the stack of bowls, "Kairi, I know you hadn't eaten in a year, but damn!"

"I haven't ramen in over a decade," Kairi complained.

"Okay, I got Mickey on the line." Riku handed her the phone.

When Kairi moved to position it to her face. The Disney trio let out a startled yelp.

"Kairi what happened to your eyes?" Donald squawked through the phone.

That created a dark shadow over Kairi. She hung up, and slammed her head onto the table, before pulling her hoodie over her head.

"You didn't warn them?" Namine hissed at Riku.

"I forgot okay!"

"What the hell Donald?" Sora slumped as he saw Kairi flop onto the table. Neji couldn't help but silently agree. It was true the Byakugan made their eyes white and that was a… stark trait of the Hyuga. A member of their clan couldn't walk through any town and not get identified as a Hyuga. But no one reacted like that on his world.

Then again, from what he witnessed, other world didn't have that kind of trait. Unless, they were blind.

Neji looked towards Sora and remembered his reaction.

Sora looked at the image of Kairi. Her white eyes and whisker shaped birthmarks, "That's what Kairi looks like?"

"Indeed," Neji said, "Most members of our clan have white eyes. Her father has marking on his face as well. I don't know how that is transferred through genetics. Her siblings have markings as well."

Sora just stared at Kairi dumbstruck.

Neji sighed annoyed, "She looks different but she's still Kairi and-…"

"A fairy!" Sora bleated.

Neji looked at Sora, this time he was dumbstruck, "What?"

"Her eyes," Sora said, "They look like eyes that belong to a… fairy… from the moon."

Neji looked at Sora's face better. He was gazing at Kairi, his face all red.

"Kairi, looks… magical and pretty and… What word describes magical and pretty and describes Kairi perfectly, because I know there's one, I just need to learn it!" Sora babbled, "Because Kairi looks like a magical fairy, from the moon."

Neji had no idea how to respond to that. Except to answer Sora's question.

"Enchanting is a good word."

"Thank you, Kairi is enchanting!"

"Kairi is beautiful," Sora declared suddenly, "She doesn't look weird or like a blind cat! Why isn't anyone telling her the obvious?!"

Naruto went over his paperwork. It seemed like there was never an end to all his paperwork. Sometimes he thinks Shikimaru is just adding on unnecessary paperwork to make him suffer. He wouldn't put it past him.

Naruto felt so tired. When was the last time he slept? Wait, who keeps track of that. Naruto leaned his head on his hand and closed his eyes for a second.

Naruto and Hinata were on their bed, but they weren't alone. Lying between them was a tiny little baby. Dress in a fluffy blouse, was their daughter Kairi. After months of waiting, their daughter was finally born. At the moment she was sleeping peacefully between them. Lying on her back, her arms and feet twitching every once in a while.

Naruto still could barely believe it. He had a daughter… He had a family. His daughters red hair made him think of his own parents. He finally understood how they felt. The love, the devotion, the driving force to sacrifice themselves for their son.

When Naruto first saw Kairi, he knew he would do anything to protect her. He'd face the Akatsuki, Madara, even Kaguya a thousand times over to protect this precious little girl.

"She's so small," Naruto whispered.

Hinata smiled as she kept gazing at the baby girl, "I know. She'll get bigger."

Kairi then stirred and opened her eyes. Naruto stiffened at first, afraid she was going to cry, but Kairi didn't. She must had woken up on her own.

Kairi's white blurry eyes looked over at Naruto. Naruto liked to think Kairi was looking at him, but Sakura said, her eyes couldn't focus yet, but Naruto wore an orange hoodie. That she probably saw a giant orange blob. Something about orange stood out in the room.

Kairi glanced around the room before closing her eyes again.

Hinata just kept smiling, "Someone's sleepy."

"Yeah, teaching her ninjutsu's going to be difficult if she's this sleepy all the time."

Hinata laughed, "She's just a baby, when she learns to walk I doubt we'll be able to keep up with her."

Naruto smiled, "Yeah."

Naruto had a wife and daughter. He had a family. At the moment, he couldn't possibly feel happier.

Eventually night fell. Hinata was feeding Kairi before putting her to bed. Naruto went down stairs, he wanted get Hinata something to drink as well. As he got her some water, he looked out the window to Hokage's mountain. His eyes were drawn to the fourth face; his Dad's.

Naruto got closer and leaned towards the window, "I'm a Dad now… That makes you a grandpa," Naruto said to the stone face, "She's a girl, her name's Kairi… she's just perfect, ya know. She got mom's red hair. She has Hinata's eyes, it wouldn't surprise me if she has the Byakugan. Everyone loves her. I thought Iruka Sensei was going to cry." Naruto imagined his parents meeting Kairi.

His Dad would have cried with him. His Mom would spoil her granddaughter.

"I don't know how to be a Dad. You weren't around, but I have Hinata, we'll do what we can."

Naruto's eyes shot open. He was still in his office. He must had fallen asleep.

He took the picture of Kairi out of it's hiding place and looked at it. He remembered how angry Boruto was… and Boruto had a right to be.

Naruto felt he deserved his son's anger. He failed Kairi. He couldn't save her. He didn't think he deserved to be Hokage. He saved Sasuke but couldn't save his daughter.

He only managed to stay grounded because of his family, and the constant support of his friends. That was the only thing that kept him going during that dark time.

He remembered Boruto's determination, when he confronted him. Not his determination to yell at him, but his determination to find Kairi.

What if he's right?

Naruto shook his head. He needed to focus. He had to accept a long time ago, Kairi was dead.

Sora you are a lovable dork.
