Chapter 9: Fashion Show Invitations
One very warm first Saturday of March 2022, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri at Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties client Madison Dayley's house in Springdale. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We ate cobb salad for lunch and lemon squares for dessert. Madison Dayley was making her invitations out of high-heeled shoes for her Fashion Show Sleepover in 2 weeks. "I am excited for my upcoming 16th birthday, guys," Madison happily told us. "I get to drive a car and get to possibly go on fun trips around the world, in which hopefully the coronavirus restrictions will be lifted by then." "My favorite trip was my high school ski trip during the summer of 2004," James told us. "It also gave me an opportunity to brush up on my baby-sitting skills," Sarah remembered. "I was wondering if you have any siblings, or not," Henri asked. "Yes, I have an older sister named Maria who attends Penn State University, and my younger sister, Marlie attends 7th grade at Allegheny Valley Middle School," Madison explained. "But, the best part that summer was after I came home from the trip, and I threw a house party in which everyone was invited to," James continued. "Do me a favor and play Santana while you drive me to deliver the invitations," Madison requested. "Oh, we would love to do that," I happily stated. "I am glad to see that you have good taste in music." "Fashion is one of my favorite interests," Sarah happily stated. "During the aforementioned events, I wore a lot of red shirts, because I was in a tense mood while learning to baby-sit for the first time, and in a happy mood attending James's house party." "You are wearing a blue sleeveless blouse again today," I told my friend. "We are scheduled to hang out with our other friends again today. Do you think Carly will wear pink and Alex will wear purple?" "It's quite possible, Angel," Sarah told me. After our lunch was over, we drove Madison to deliver her invitations to her 4 guests Ava, Laci, Penelope, and Everleigh, while as promised, listening to Santana in the car. Then, our other friends Carly Shay, Spencer Puckett, and Carly's stepdad, Freddie Benson, met us at the office in Monroeville for a presentation and a short game and activity day, in which Henri and Mr. Benson had a pillow fight, James and Spencer had a sleeping bag relay race, and Sarah, Carly, and I did blindfolded makeovers. We listened to NSYNC while we did our other activities. Then, we met some more of our friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, and Max Greenwald at my mentor, Jenna Moser and her sister, Jill's apartment in Point Breeze for a dance party to 98 Degrees and dinner featuring a stuffed chicken dinner for me, Jenna, and Jill, as well as Jenna's boyfriend, Colin Pearson, a pizza dinner for Henri and Max, and a tilapia dinner for the rest of us, with James and Justin eating s'mores for dessert and Sarah and Alex eating fruit kebabs for dessert. We also learned more about the nutrition group that Alex, Justin, and Max were a part of. Alex let us know that she ate peanut butter twice in one day, once for lunch in her peanut butter and jelly sandwich and the other time for her afternoon snack with her celery stalks. Once dinner was over, it was time for everyone to leave the Moser apartment. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
