The two girls continued their showers and eventually stepped out of their cubicles when they were finished.
They both burned red at seeing each other covered with only a towel.
Oh wow, she's so beautiful even with her hair completely wet and water dripping down her body, Yang thought. They each stood rooted to the spot for a few seconds before Yang shook herself out of her stupor, "Hey Blake! Or should I say, mysterious singing girl?" Yang chuckled awkwardly. Crap, I hope she doesn't think I'm a weirdo for staring.
Blake remained silent, momentarily enraptured by Yang's gorgeous lavender eyes. This girl was even more stunning without her makeup.
"Um… You okay?" Yang looked at Blake with concern.
Blake snapped out of her reverie. "Oh, sorry Yang, I spaced out there for a moment."
Yang laughed, "Don't worry about it. So, see you around…?"
"Sure."
The pair smiled and waved goodbye, hoping the other wouldn't notice their panicked expressions as they headed off in separate directions back to their rooms.
What just happened?! Did I seriously just reveal myself to Yang? What is going to happen now… Blake threw on a black tank top and black shorts after rushing back to her room from the awkward encounter with Yang in the bathroom.
Should I go over to her room? No, that's too weird... Blake thought to herself as she paced around her room, antsy. But she literally invited me to come over to her room! And we should discuss our meeting in the bathroom…
Blake glanced at the clock, worried that she might not have enough time to finish her additional readings. Then again, it was called additional for a reason...
Screw it. I'm going over. Blake purposefully strided to Yang's room, steeled herself, and knocked on her door.
Knock knock.
Yang laid on her bed and stared at the ceiling, contemplating how much of an idiot she was. I can't believe I just revealed that I have been creepily listening to Blake singing… she's probably going to avoid me now. Distracted by thoughts of Blake, she almost missed the knocks at the door.
Knock knock knock.
Yang jumped out of bed and rushed to the door. Who could it be? She looked through the peephole and froze. Oh my goodness, it's Blake, she's here… What does she want? Is she here to tell me off for being such a creep? No, that's ridiculous... stop stalling and open the door!
Taking a deep breath to calm herself, Yang hesitantly opened the door.
"Blake? H-hi! So good to see you!" Yang grinned awkwardly.
"Hey Yang! Um, I hope I'm not disturbing you," Blake asked hesitantly.
"Oh no, don't worry! You're not disturbing! I wasn't doing anything…" Yang trailed off, raking her eyes over Blake's form-fitting outfit, her eyes drawn to the curves of her body, "Come in!"
Blake smiled and stepped into Yang's room, which smelled of lavender. Huge posters plastered her walls, giving a hint as to who Yang's idols were. Books were strewn over her table and her laptop was half-open. Nevertheless, the biggest attraction in the room was the blonde herself, who gave a warm smile, enough to melt away some of Blake's anxiety. Yang gestured to a two-seater sofa (read: loveseat) and the pair sat down, knees touching as they angled their bodies slightly to face each other.
"Nice place Yang. Thanks for inviting me in. So, um… this is going to sound weird, but have you stumbled upon me singing much? I'm just curious," Blake asked sheepishly.
"Oh! I think it's been three times now, if you include today? I remember you were singing Red like Roses Part II and Bring me to Life previously. Besides that, no," Yang recalled.
"Ah I see…" Blake internally sighed in relief, if Yang had heard her singing Michael Jackson's Billie Jean and attempting to moonwalk in the shower, she would have died of embarrassment. "That's good to know!" Blake replied, chuckling awkwardly.
"So now that your identity has been revealed, Miss Mystery Singer… we good? Don't worry, I'll keep your identity a secret," Yang teased.
"Yes. Again, thank you for respecting my privacy. It really means a lot to me," Blake confessed.
"No problem," Yang beamed, "Hey, I'm starved. Do you… want to go grab dinner with me? It'll be a quick one, I promise! I know you have studying to do," Yang blurted out, heart thumping in her chest.. I hope she doesn't think I'm being pushy!
"Sure! I've just got to be back in my room by 7.30pm," Blake accepted immediately, elated that Yang wanted to spend more time with her and impressed that she was considerate of her study time. The more time she spent with the blonde, the more she realised that Weiss really had made many erroneous assumptions about her due to her popularity.
"Awesome, let's go!" Yang got up and offered a hand to Blake to help her up from the couch, who took it while trying to hide the blush creeping up her face.
Together, the pair went down to the dining hall for dinner, both internally fist-pumping.
