"What a fiasco today has been and now the worst part is that now i have this fool trying to fight me and Dreepy." I thought to myself as a white dragon and his sister approached me. "Blah blah blah nightwing scum I get it just fight me Winter."
"Well guess there is no need for introductions now then how about we go off school grounds then?" He said with a smug smile on his face.
"Fine but class is about to start so after school you pick the place and I might be a bit late. I have to grab someone before the fight." I said knowing he would be bringing an ice type to the fight.
"Fine, just meet in the field under the mountain, ok you filthy nightwing." Winter said as he turned to walk away, slapping me in the face with his tail.
"Asshole." I said under my breath as he walked away. "Now what winglet do i even belong to because all the others are filled so maybe i'm in my own winglet whatever oh and i should probably go and see my schedule." I thought to myself moving out of the prey center and back to my room. "Ah ok so I do get a winglet with one other dragon called Nightseeker but besides them it's just me and platinum is the winglet so that's nice though diamond or ruby would have been better." I said as I hear a set of feet not to far from me
"So you're going to that fight with nightwing and icewing?" I hear a voice say.
"Yeah he is in my winglet so i guess it's good to know his pokemon or is this a melee fight?" another voice says
"Pokemon guess they are being safe with the school and league rules. But Winter does have a good pokemon on his side." the first voice said.
"Ah the massive Snorunt right?" the second voice said as they passed my door and i could see that they were a mudwing and sandwing.
"Well let's get to class dont want Clay to talk about being late." the mudwing said
"You are his brother, you will be fine, Umber." the sandwing said as they walked off.
"So it's a Snorunt then i guess i should go and catch something to counter the ice then." I said as I heard the bell ring to signal the start of class. "Welp that first and it seems like I have to go to Battle Dynamics? Does that class teach pokemon battles?" I said flying for the first time. "Well this is new but fun i guess."
After going into the class and learning nothing besides that healing pokemon is done by Clay and Sunny. In that class I was stuck with the world's most hyper dragon Kinkajou, and the nightwing with eyes of death Moon for what felt like years. I went out to the bottom of the mountain looking for a pokemon to catch and help in my upcoming battle. "So in a mountain-like area my choices are Aron or Larvitar and out of both of those I'll take a larvitar if I can find one that is." I said thinking that no one was following me.
"Larvitar tends to be near the middle of the mountain Starshot though no one dares go after one because they are hard to catch and really dangerous." Kinkajou said from behind me trying to give me a heart attack.
"Thanks Kinkajou now, never sneak up on me like that again please. I would like to go get one to add to my team so I have an advantage over Winter." I said flying off to a cave I saw not too far away up the mountain.
"Wait for me, I want to come too." she yelped following me.
After we entered the cave we walked around for a bit as it was dark till I got the idea to use rocks to try and bait a larvitar out. Surly after a few stacks of rocks could lure one out to investigate, And after 20 minutes of waiting one large larvitar came out of hiding to eat some rocks and iron I left out. "Got you now!" I shouted, throwing a pokeball directly on its head. As the ball shakes I wondered if I would have to battle it.
Ding! I hear from the ball as the pokedex chimes in.
"Larvitar has been added to your pokedex!" it sung as i asked for more info it said "Larvitar the Rock Skin pokemon! This pokemon is known for eating rocks and dirt and if left alone for long enough could eat a whole mountain."
"Cool now, come on Kinkajou let's go fight winter!" I said with a smile as the small rainwing turned into a light pink and purple.
"Yeah, let's show him who's boss!" Kinkajou shouted.
About 10 minutes after we arrived at the battle field Winter had finally shown his cold white face with his look of confidence as he started to talk. "Oh so your plus one is a rainwing? Hope you don't mind, I brought a bit more than one dragon." He said as about 30 dragons had appeared to watch this fight. "You don't get nervous when others are watching do you?"
"Not at all but anyway you can throw out your pokemon first prince." I say with a grin on my face.
"Snorunt Front and center!" He called out as a snorunt about the size of a chair came out of a ball.
"That cool Larvitar you are up!" I shout as larvitar appears and bites my tail. "I'll ignore that but use Rock Throw on snorunt!" I declare as larvitar lets go of my tail rushing down his opponent and causing rocks to spawn above the snorunts head and fall on it.
"Super Effective!" I hear a voice say in my head close to the pokedex's voice.
"Powder Snow snorunt" I hear Winter call out as I remember that Larvitar knows one move that might win next turn if i use it right.
"Take the hit and use Payback!" I shout at the larvitar as a small bit of snow hits it dealing some light damage.
"Larvi!" it shouts eyes glowing red going in for a smash on the head on the snorunt again. As the attack collides with snorunt it sends it flying back into Winter knocking both him and the snorunt unconscious.
"Guess that's the match Prince." I say recalling larvitar. "Guess you should not brag when you are not at the top." I say as he finally wakes up.
"How could a common nightwing beat me, the Prince of Icewings!" He shouted, going into a fit of rage.
"Type advantage and the matchup was not in your favor." I say as I help his snorunt up.
"Dreepy has reached lv 10. Larvitar has reached lv 8." I hear my dex tell me in my ear.
"So things work off the level system here as well. Dex, what level was his snorunt?" i ask in my mind.
"15." Its mechanical voice reads out to me.
"Good job larvitar for taking out an opponent twice the level." I say out loud as Kinkajou jumps on me, almost knocking me over from the sudden weight change. "Whoa! Kinkajou, stop jumping on people!" I say trying to hold both of us up. "Just because we have been friends for a day now does not mean you can just do that!" I say in a more aggressive voice. Suddenly I hear all the voices around me light up.
"Did he do that?" "Did the Prince just lose?" "That fast I thought he could last longer." where some things i could make out but no one was moving their mouths or at least talking. "Larvitar could be cool for me. I might go get one." "Weak like normal brother." I hear some other voices.
"I guess whoever made this body really stacked me out with the whole kit. Next I'm going to find out I'm an animus or something." I think to myself.
"All right, what's going on down here? Why is Winter on the ground and Starshot? Why do you have Kinkajou hanging on you like a tree?" A large voice called landing in front of us.
"Clay sir, he challenged me and my snorunt to a battle!" Winter cried out trying to sound like the victim of this.
"I just had to teach him that just because us nightwings were lying kinda about our power we are not weak and scumbags like he says. I also have no idea why she is hanging on to me like this." I tell him as he looks at Kinkajou who tries to hide by changing to the colors around her.
"Kinkajou, did you participate in this?" Clay asked.
"No, she was just watching." Winter chimed in.
"Fine but both of you now have to battle me. If you can work together then i'll drop this i'll tell you now i'll be using a Rhyhorn you have 3 hours to heal your pokemon and fight me." He said as the rest of the dragons flew off into the school.
"Well Winter i will see you in 3 hours till then i'm going out to the river." I say taking off as Winter breaks down rushing to the medical center to heal his snorunt.
"Time to put this human knowledge to use first a Magikarp to the team then some grinding." I thought to myself as I flew off forgetting about Kinkajou being on my back.
After flying for about 2 minutes she reveals herself after we land over on the river side. "Starshot what are you doing?" she asks
"Kinkajou why did you not say a thing when you flew in here? Or when did you get here?" I ask her as she hops in the water.
"I've been here all along but why did you want to come here?" she asks one more.
"Fishing I want to get a magikarp for my team and some training." I told her as my makeshift fishing rod was being finished.
"Well what is that?" she asks, pointing at the rod.
"A fishing rod made out of vines and branches." I tell her as I put the fishing rod in the water and start making another one.
"Why don't you just catch them with your talons and jaw?" She asks.
"Never been good at it so I made tools to help me. Plus I can have multiple of them out at once." I tell her finishing up the second pole and casting it.
"Something is pulling on the rod Star." she says as she sits by the rod turning a deep yellow.
"Well let's see what it is." I say pulling a magikarp out of the water that's glistened a golden yellow. "Whoa really shiny I've been here for a day!" I shout throwing a pokeball without hesitation. "Now the other line is shaking. Let's see." I say as a goldeen jumps out of the water and I send out Larvitar to deal with it. Larvitar, like normal, takes it down pretty fast as the training for it was going on. I was taking a break with the new shiny Magikarp I had just caught.
After a few hours pass i check the pokedex for the stats on my pokemon "Dreepy lv21, Larvitar lv20, Magikarp lv 18." It read out to me.
"I want to get a Gyarados but that can be for later." I think to myself as I recall all my pokemon and signal for Kinkajou to follow me back to the school. "As well as prepare myself for the battle with Clay's Rhyhorn. Winter will probably attack me to try and get the glory for himself but with Payback we got this." I think to myself again arriving at the school entrance.
"Hey Starshot, do you have a plan to deal with Clay?" Winter asks coming from around the corner.
"Nope no plan just going to brute force it." I tell Winter rolling my eyes.
"What are we going to do? Clay is the third strongest teacher here." Winter said, starting to hold his face.
"Second, who is the top?" I ask with a straight face.
"Tsunami or Starflight, it goes back and forth." Winter said remembering his opening battle against them.
"Good to know, now let's get to the training room." I say moving without looking to see if he was following.
