Hunted
A Winter's Dream Cont.
After having spent most of their time in the snow in some shape way or form both Yoruichi and Soifon welcomed the blast of heat that greeted them upon entering the resort's main cabin, there were several roaring fires situated throughout the large room which was divided into three areas. A bar, a seating area with wooden tables and chairs and then a more comfortable seating plan with booths that created a more intimate setting. Yoruichi lead the way to one of the smaller tables that was right next to one of the fire pits and Soifon followed, quite happy to substitute privacy for warmth at this very moment.
"Would you like anything to drink?" Soifon pulled the chair out for Yoruichi to sit down on, aware that Yoruichi seemed to be more tired than usual but then again they had been quite active that day. A faint tinge of pink spread across Soi's cheeks when she realised it was most likely her fault Yoruichi had no energy.
"A hot chocolate would be fantastic." Yoruichi sank into the chair gratefully.
"Coming right up." Soifon gently squeezed Yoruichi's shoulder before leaving, unable to bring herself to kiss her in front of such a large audience in a strange place. Once Soi was at the bar and had placed her order the man beside her greeted her and she recognised him as the one who had announced his name to them in the snow fight.
"I see you survived the battle then." He smiled warmly at her.
"Actually no we were taken out shortly after you were." Soifon informed him, not really paying him much attention since she was watching Yoruichi who seemed to be pressing or holding her lower side where she had been shot, unaware that Soifon was focused on her. "Do you know where I can get a hold of some painkillers?" Soifon ignored Derrick's question on if she wanted to have a drink with him.
"Err…they have some first aid supplies but I also have these. Will they do?" He pulled out a packet of Ibuprofen from one of his many coat pockets.
"How much would you like for them?" Soifon began rummaging through her own pockets for some money when Derrick handed her the packet.
"Don't worry about it, I got loads, I like to be prepared."
"Thanks." Soi took the packet, her drinks and left before Derrick could think of another question quick enough to keep her there longer and she rejoined Yoruichi by the fireplace. "Hey, take some of these." Soifon handed over the packet of painkillers with the hot chocolate.
"It's not too bad, just aches now and then." Yoruichi downplayed how much the wound was bothering her and was very glad that Soifon had gotten hold of some painkillers.
"I'm just glad they caught the guy –wait a minute. How come nobody interviewed you about that incident?" Soifon remembered the news report about a man who had been hiding in a shop basement being caught and brought in for questioning over a shooting in the park and how Yoruichi's name was not mentioned at all.
"Kisuke." Yoruichi stated. "He takes care of all of that, at first it was left to the official police for a while except that brought a little too much attention to the fact that I wasn't allowed to be mentioned with stuff like that so now he takes care of making sure I remain hidden from the public view.
"What happened for that to be set up?" Soi's curiosity got the better of her.
"Err there was a car crash once, not with us involved we were just on the same road and some reporters showed up, took some photos and a few of them showed me in the background. The police had to order them to hand over the photographs and this prompted one of those reporters to find out why and they stumbled across me and who I was." Yoruichi explained.
"I imagine that caused a lot of headaches." It also occurred to Soifon that Kisuke must be screening information on Balance Industries now that Yoruichi was around her and wondered just how much the man knew about herself. "There's a chance he knows more about me than you do by now."
"Hmm? No I don't think so." Yoruichi tried to reassure Soifon, it was obvious by her disgruntled facial expression that Soi did not like the idea of her privacy being invaded without prior knowledge. "It would have been at most a background check so stuff like age, health issues and criminal records to make sure you were safe for me to be around."
"I gather my results were clean for you to keep seeing me…what would have happened had he found something to make me untrustworthy?" This whole situation intrigued Soifon to no end she couldn't help but want to know more.
"Had I been with you at the time I'd have gotten a phone call or they'd have shown up to collect me with an excuse about a family emergency or something similar and explained to me that you didn't pass the safety regulations," Yoruichi chuckled at the phrasing and continued. "I would have then got in touch with you, essentially break up with you and then we'd go our separate ways. Kisuke would keep tabs on you for a while to make sure you weren't tailing me, we'd possibly move areas depending on bad your background was."
"Break up with me?" Soifon repeated the phrase a little confused by it.
"Well yeah I couldn't keep you as my girlfriend in that situation." Yoruichi explained further with a laugh at the thought of being in a relationship with someone who might want to kill her one day.
"I – I've never thought of us…like that. With a label I mean." Soifon hesitated and found it difficult to look at Yoruichi after being referred to as her girlfriend. The topic of conversation had entered that grey area where Soifon had little to no experience in the matter and as usual it left her feeling completely lost on what she should do.
"I can happily say that I consider you and have done so for a while now as my partner and I hope that you will be able to do so too." Yoruichi placed her hand on Soi's reassuringly accompanied with a soft smile when colour spread across Soi's cheeks. "I am curious at how you've managed to not get involved with someone until now." Yoruichi chose her words carefully to make sure that it was easy for Soifon to deflect if she really didn't want to go into that topic though the mystery of Soi's life was something Yoruichi was drying to unlock.
"Work mostly." Soifon answered after a long pause where she once again decided to leave that discussion for another time. "My position left very little room for extracurricular activities until I balanced everything out." Soifon smirked at how she had managed to title drop her company.
"You never did explain how you got promoted by the way." Yoruichi pointed out when she couldn't recall Soifon ever telling her about that.
"You're not the only one to ask that," Soi's lips curved into a smile when she remembered the countless rumours circulating her rise through the ranks. "I find that letting others answer their own questions much more entertaining so why don't you tell me how you think it happened."
"Hmm. You killed the last guy in charge." Yoruichi guessed.
"Nope but that is a popular belief. My favourite however is the one where I won the company in a poker game." Soifon chuckled, "I am very good at poker." Soifon added when Yoruichi gave her doubtful look in return.
"Did somebody say poker?" Derrick announced his presence to the two of them, pulled a deck of cards from one of his pockets and grinned back at them both.
"You don't happen to have a kitchen sink in one of those do you?" Soifon asked and shifted her hand away from Yoruichi's now that they had been interrupted.
"Wouldn't you like to know." He winked Soifon as he sat down and since neither of them protested he took out the cards and began to shuffle them. Yoruichi quirked an eyebrow at his attempt to flirt with Soifon who seemed to not even register the fact he was making a move on her.
"I should warn you now that if we play for money you'll be broke by the end of the night." Soifon informed him coolly. Yoruichi practically purred at how suave her partner appeared right now with one leg crossed over the other, head propped up by one hand with a calm yet powerful look of control across her face, all lit up by the light of the fire pit beside them. Of all the times to want a picture of this woman and I don't have a camera, Yoruichi lamented.
"Ok how about we just play for fun then?" Derrick laughed and began to deal out the cards between them.
"Works for me." Yoruichi answered, not really having any issues with Derrick interrupting them since they were here to have fun, if anything she felt sorry for the man since anytime he tried to hint at a compliment or offered to get Soifon a drink it was if Soi just forgot he existed. If he was lucky Soifon usually answered by directing the statement towards Yoruichi that by the end of their fifth game it was painful obvious his ego had taken a blow for he kept making mistake after mistake and had lost nearly every round. They ate their meal with him and chatted a little bit that when they finally parted ways for the night Yoruichi doubled back over to him and patted him reassuringly.
"Don't take it personally; I had a hard time getting her attention as well." Yoruichi resisted the urge to laugh when everything clicked into place and his eyes widened with realisation. He laughed at the situation he had placed himself in and wished them both a merry Christmas.
"What was that about?" Soifon asked when Yoruichi caught back up with her and linked her arm through Soi's as they walked back through the snow towards their igloo, the sun had nearly set and the sky was clear of any clouds which allowed them to see the stars shimmering into life high above them.
"Oh I just wanted to thank him for the entertainment." Yoruichi shrugged nonchalantly, "Mind I was prepared to come to your rescue at any time but you really didn't need it."
"Rescue? From what?" Soifon was completely lost.
"His advancements of course." Yoruichi laughed and loved how Soifon really didn't have a clue that was what Derrick had been doing. "He was making a move on you, many in fact."
"What? I thought he was being friendly." Soifon mumbled in defence.
"How are you so adorable and so dam hot at the same time?" Yoruichi pictured how Soifon had looked during the poker game; there was no denying the effect Soi had on her when she was in her element.
"I am not h-hot." Soifon blushed despite not believing the comment at all.
"Oh you are, believe you are. I'm surprised the snow hasn't melted around you." Yoruichi added on playfully.
"Say that one more time and you'll be in the hot tub alone." Soifon threatened.
"Ha! I saw the way your eyes glazed over at the bikini I picked out, you'll be diving in head first if it means seeing me in that." Yoruichi called her out on her bluff instantly.
"You noticed that?" Soifon felt her cheeks burn even more at having been caught fantasying over Yoruichi.
"Hun, sweetie. A blind person could feel the heat eradiating from you when you saw me pick out that costume." Yoruichi couldn't help but giggle at how Soifon mumbled incoherently at her comment and pulled her hood up to help hide Yoruichi from her sight.
"You are too cute." Yoruichi squeaked and pulled Soifon closer towards her for a quick and light kiss. This seemed to reset Soi's meter of being embarrassed and they continued on their way. "So do you want to try the hot tub or shall I leave it till tomorrow? Yoruichi asked.
"Oh we're going in tonight, tomorrow and if we get up in time before we leave too." Soifon informed her with a tone that left no room for it to be disputed.
"That's fine by me." Yoruichi laughed happily, glad that they were not ending the day yet because she really didn't want it to end.
"This is an odd sensation." Soifon mused out loud so that Yoruichi could hear her from where she was changing since true to her word Soifon had practically dived head first into one of the hot tubs available to the guests, she had changed into her swimming shorts and sports top ahead of time and put her normal clothes on over the top when they bought the clothes in the first place.
"What's an odd sensation?" Yoruichi called back to her.
"Being so hot when surrounded by snow." Soifon looked at the snowy wall that surrounded the hot tubs to help give them privacy but the best thing about it was that there was no rooftop blocking their view of the starry night sky.
"I did say you were hot." Yoruichi spoke from behind her; Soi turned around to object to Yoruichi's statement and stopped mouth agape at the sight that greeted her. Yoruichi was stood, one hand on her hip with a very playful grin at how quickly Soifon's face had turned red at the sight of her orange bikini with string ties one either side securing it in place. "Careful Bee, I don't want you fainting on me now." Yoruichi rested her hand on Soi's shoulder and slowly moved her hand up to Soi's chin and pushed her mouth closed while Yoruichi stepped into the hot tub beside her.
"I completely forgot what I was gonna say." Soifon managed to finally say without taking her eyes off of Yoruichi.
"Then don't say anything at all." Yoruichi glided through the water and leaned into Soifon, wrapping her leg around Soi's as she did so. Yoruichi reached out to Soifon, cupped her face with her hand and then guided her little bee towards her and captured her lips in a soft lingering kiss.
"This would be a really bad time for what's his face to show up again." Soi murmured when the kiss had ended and caused Yoruichi to break out into a smile.
"You should have stuck to saying nothing." Yoruichi teased and broke off the contact with Soi to lean back against the hot tub to take in how beautiful the night sky looked, "Wow…I could get used to this." Yoruichi sighed contently; Soifon cast a sideways glance at how peaceful Yoruichi looked.
"Mmm." Soi nodded in agreement though decided that the gap between them was too much and after some initial hesitation moved to lean against Yoruichi and rest her head on her shoulder. Although the bubbling water was keeping Yoruichi nice and warm, a brand new wave of glowing warmth surged through her entire body at the fact that Soifon had hugged her of her own accord.
Time was lost to the two of them as they shared the view of the night sky and the only reason they left the warmth of the relaxing hot water was because Yoruichi started to fall asleep. Once back at their igloo, Soifon lit the fire since Yoruichi just flopped onto the furs and buried herself in the pile till only the top of her head was showing.
"Sleepy?" Soifon giggled at how cute Yoruichi looked when the pile of furs shuffled up and down to show that Yoruichi was nodding as her answer. Soifon carefully clambered over the hidden woman and got into the double sleeping bag as well except she stayed up a while longer to ensure that the fire stayed under control and just in case Yoruichi woke up and needed something.
For Soifon the next day started by waking up to find that the fire had been relit and Yoruichi was beside her under all the covers digging into full hearty breakfast.
"That smells wonderful." Soifon managed to mumble through the sleepy fog that clouded her brain. Yoruichi made some sounds that sounded like words through her full mouth of food, got up and moments later had produced a second plate of steaming hot food which seemed to do the trick in waking Soifon up completely. "How would you like to spend your Christmas Eve?" Soifon asked after she had finished devouring her breakfast.
"They are doing a husky tour in the evening that I've kinda already signed us up for but for right now I'd love to hear you scream out my name again." Yoruichi had already eased her way on top of Soifon as she spoke and leaned in close to Soi's face so that her lips brushed against the shorter woman's ear and whispered to her, "I'm wearing that bikini you like."
"You are insatiable." Soifon groaned out from how Yoruichi pressed her hips into her own and pulled Yoruichi closer to her body and planted her lips on the exposed skin of Yoruichi's neck and sank her teeth into the soft flesh. A hiss escaped through Yoruichi's parted lips, her hold on Soifon tightened in response and she kissed the side of Soi's face that she could reach. Soifon's heart pounded against her chest from how Yoruichi's body moved against her own and tugged at her clothes. It felt like the world around her was spinning out of existence and the only way she could survive was to hold onto exotic goddess in front of her so Soi wrapped her slim arms around Yoruichi's neck and pulled her downwards into a deep and soul warming kiss.
"You're driving me crazy." Soifon gasped at Yoruichi's actions since the older woman's hands traced the contours of her body and moved up along her body to grab tufts of her hair to direct Soi's face upwards, exposing her neck so that Yoruichi could return the favour from earlier and bite Soifon though soothed the area afterwards with soft silky motions with her tongue afterwards. The husky breathless tone in Soifon's voice acted like a trigger for Yoruichi's instincts, the small woman beneath her had surrendered her mind, body and soul to her and her alone. A desperate burning need took hold of Yoruichi that she practically tore at the clothing standing between her and her prize that she actually growled and swore out of frustration from how long it was taking to remove the garments.
"What's got into you?" Soifon could barely keep up with the frenzied attack on her senses; all she could see, smell, hear, feel and taste was the chocolate coated goddess on top of her.
"I – need – you." Yoruichi managed to get the words out in-between exploring Soifon's tender mouth with her own while she grabbed, groped, massaged and dug her fingertips into the porcelain skin she had finally exposed.
"I am yours." Soifon struggled for every breath at the power Yoruichi displayed, how her hands skilfully explored every curve and dip of her body. Soifon became lost in an ecstasy of both pain and pleasure when Yoruichi finally moved her attention lower and across her thighs that it felt like she was going to blackout at any given minute from the way Yoruichi was claiming her body for herself.
After having waited for her breathing to finally return to normal Yoruichi managed to roll over and check on the condition of her motionless partner.
"Are you ok?" Yoruichi asked tentatively to the back of Soifon's head, she was still sprawled out under the covers the way Yoruichi had left her a while ago now. If it wasn't for the fact that Yoruichi could see Soifon's body rise and fall from breathing she would have worried about her being dead.
"Yeah." Soi's speech was barely audible over the crackle from the burning embers from the dying fire pit.
"Are you sure?" Yoruichi moved closer so that she could examine her bee more carefully.
"Muscles…jelly." Soifon informed her through quiet breaths. Yoruichi eased Soifon over onto her back, in doing so the covers slipped down Soi's chest and Yoruichi's eyes widened in shock at seeing the damage she had caused to Soi's body. Her little bee was covered in scratch marks, bruises and a mix of both teeth and countless hickeys, morbid curiosity got the better of Yoruichi and she gave a quick peek under the covers at the rest of Soi's body to see she had left it in a similar state.
"Jesus Soi why didn't you say I was too rough!" Yoruichi exclaimed in horror.
"It felt good." Soifon smiled weakly though her eyes had remained shut the entire time.
"There's such a thing as being too rough you know." Yoruichi looked down at her sympathetically and apologised for getting carried away which Soifon dismissed instantly with a low moan of protest. "Do you need anything at all?"
"Water and rest." Soifon mumbled contently which caused Yoruichi to chuckle at how happy Soifon appeared despite it looking like she had just survived the battle of a century.
"Sure thing Bee." Yoruichi flicked some of the hair out of Soi's eyes before she got up to retrieve a drink. Yoruichi felt so guilty for the state she had put Soifon in that she spent the rest of time making up for it by doting on her every need which came few and far between so her time was spent asking Soi how she was feeling and wanting constant updates.
"Yoruichi I'm fine really, just a little worn out that's all." Soifon insisted yet again.
"I swear that's only because you haven't tried moving yet." Yoruichi countered.
"Look see I'm fine," Soifon pushed herself upwards but her muscles betrayed her and gave up before she had even propped herself up on her elbows. "Okay back to not moving."
"Uh huh back down you go." Yoruichi couldn't help but snigger at being right about Soi's condition.
A/N: Hope these two chapters were good enough considering how long you guys have had to wait for them.
Can you believe my original idea was to just skip over the trip and open up on them returning back home?
These chapters all came about due to a guest's review stating that they needed some sexy time between these two and the more I thought about the more going into detail about their relaxing trip would be for the best since they've gone through a lot lately.
As usual I will spell check eventually after I've taken a break from staring at text for a while.
