The Hunted
Strange Encounters
Despite knowing that each floor in the building had working air cooling and ventilation systems in place Soifon found the room temperature growing to an unbearable heated temperature. She attributed this factor to the rising tension between herself and her potential future colleague who was being as stubborn as she was. Neither side was giving ground that she began to wonder why the old man even bothered to set this meeting up between them.
"Tell me something," Soifon took a deep breath to hide her frustration at having wasted over an hour of her precious time. "Did you actually have a goal in mind for today?"
"How dare you!" The voice that grated on her nerves the most spoke up yet again, snapping her focus onto the third person in the room and his skinny frame, "That you should even think to imply that he would stoop so low as to waste not only your time, but his time as well." The young assistant finished defending his leader, more like loyal lap dog, Soifon thought after turning her eyes away from Ggio Vega for the umpteenth time to return the impassive stare from the source of all Soi's anger and frustration, Baraggan. The old man remained as he had done throughout the entire meeting, sat silently at the other end of the table, his eyes never leaving Soifon for a minute. In an attempt to make him speak directly instead of through his team, she had dismissed her advisors; requesting he do the same however the old man kept his silence and kept all but one of his assistants.
"I can see how time is clearly a precious resource to you," Soifon couldn't hide the smug tone in her voice at the outraged look on Vega's face at her calling his boss old. "So why don't we try and agree on at least one point for now to reconvene at a later point after both parties have reviewed the prospects?"
Not again, Yoruichi lamented at the sight of the lift doors closing, sealing the fact that today was simply a day where fate had determined that she wasn't allowed to not be inside the vertical mode of transport.
"Why do you want to see Shawn?" Sora whispered frantically, too used to office gossip life to take note of the fact that they were only ones in the lift so there was really no need for whispers at this point in time. Yoruichi would have loved to answer Sora's question however her hand was still clasped tightly over Yoruichi's mouth so she settled for making unintelligible noises into Sora's hand. "Oh, sorry about that." Sora laughed at herself and released her hold on Yoruichi's mouth.
"Really now, an elevator? A bit cliché to have a make out session in." Yoruichi couldn't resist commenting on their close quarters to one another, Sora was still effectively pinning her against the wall of the lift. "Couldn't you find a broom closet close enough?"
"Oh don't dodge the question," Sora rolled her eyes at Yoruichi's quips, her shrewd mind already trying to work things out for herself, neither of the pair seemed to care or were not aware of the fact the lift they were in began to move downwards, summoned to a lower floor level. "Well why are you after Shawn?"
"Who is Shawn again?" Yoruichi forced her brain into thinking back over the people Sora had introduced her to now and then during the time they had been dating. "Oh wait, you mean Soifon right? Yeah, that was your code name for her." In the time it took for Yoruichi to recall that particular tidbit of information, Sora's eyes widened in shock.
"You're seeing Shawn!" Sora somehow managed to gasp in alarm and squeal from shock at the same time, deafening Yoruichi at the result of her deduction. "How - h-how - I - I mean - how?" Sora stammered over her words, both questioning Yoruichi and still just out of shock at the revelation. "How!" she shook Yoruichi's shoulders as if she could literally shake the answers out of the tanned woman faster than being told them.
"I believe I have a lift breaking down to thank for that," Yoruichi laughed at the urgency within Sora, glad to see that Sora's eyes were filled with excitement by the news instead of being upset. If anything, not knowing how Yoruichi came to be going out with her boss was the thing that was upsetting Sora. The lift slowed to a halt and the doors opened in time for an unsuspecting worker to be utterly confused at the sight of Sora shaking Yoruichi against the wall while squealing out the word 'how' repeatedly. Yoruichi tilted her head, grinned and waved at the new person who nervously smiled back and stepped inside, doing their best to ignore the sight behind them after pressing the button to take them to their desired floor level.
"Err they missed a deadline," Sora gave a quick explanation to the worker who made some noises of understanding in response. "How?" Sora resumed her integration in a frantic whisper.
"I think it was a technical fault? I never really thought to ask." Yoruichi raised her arm to scratch the back of her head when she tried to think of why the lift had broken down. "Maybe a power cut?"
"You might be able to request an extension then… if it was due to a computer breakdown." The newcomer suggested in a bid to be friendly to the bickering duo.
"I'll get her to do just that, " Sora put on her biggest, fakest smile she could muster and thanked the worker as they departed the lift, leaving the two to continue their conversation undisturbed. "Don't play coy with me missy," Sora turned on Yoruichi the moment the doors sealed them in together, it seemed like Sora was going to say something else but her green eyes lit up with revelation, her mind already connecting the dots before Yoruichi could even say anything on the subject. "Wait a minute. Was Shawn the one? The one you meant back then? Back when you said it was too late?" Her eyes narrowed on Yoruichi's, examining every inch of Yoruichi's face, waiting to catch sight of any visible reaction to her question.
"That may have been the case, yes." Yoruichi nodded, unable to stop the grin spreading from acknowledging her feelings for Soifon out loud. The completely honest reaction from Yoruichi elected another high pitched squeal out of Sora, Yoruichi winced at her ear drums being rattled by sounds of utter shock and delight mixed together.
"O-M-G! OMG!" Sora's hands flapped about like a new fledgling trying to take flight for the first time. "Omg Yoruichi! Like how did -" Sora cut herself off with a rapid intake of air when she connected more pieces of the puzzle together, her green eyes shimmered with the slightest bit of betrayal when she examined Yoruichi this time. "The way you acted at the party with me… it - it was - were you trying to make her jealous?"
"You are the one who is refusing to meet any compromise offered here. We have been most grateful in presenting you with clear, concise options to choose from. These are the same ones that we ever so graciously accommodated for your needs last time and like last time, you have denied them." Vega straightened upright, his face still frozen in abject shock at the insult directed at Baraggan and he now filled his chest with air, ready to release a torrent of insults and protests towards Soifon directly when both Soifon and Vega froze at the movement of Baraggan lifting his hand to silence his assistant.
Finally, a reaction, Soifon mentally jumped for joy at finally driving the old man to react. I'll make sure to open with harsher words from the very start next time, if there even is a next time.
"Even your boss is sick of listening to you droning on about nothing now and so am I." Soifon quipped back, knowing full well it would stoke the fire in Vega's arrogant heart.
"Ah… yeah. That was out of line." Yoruichi admitted that all of her extra flirting, kissing and groping that night had been solely to get the attention of Soifon and hoped that Sora would forgive her for using her in such a way.
"Oh my god, you are the worst!" Sora focused her excited attempts of flight into a harmless assault on Yoriichi's body before the tanned woman could begin to apologise for the way she acted. " How could you - to think that you'd - how dare you. Did it work?" Yoruichi laughed at how Sora's attempted front of being offended was dropped the moment she wanted to hear more details. The unmistakable chime of the doors opening caused both of the women to turn to see who was joining them in the lift this time round. The young man's eyes bulged out of their sockets at catching them in such an intimate pose since Sora still had Yoruichi trapped against the back wall. "I'm getting her to apply for an extension." Sora explained to the man, forgetting that he was not there for the start of the fake missed deadline cover story she had come up with previously.
"I wish you were my senior." The man blurted out before his brain could play catch up, "I-it's just that mine never grants them." He quickly stammered in an attempt to save his dignity.
"I think we're giving him an extension." Yoruichi spoke barely above a whisper so that only Sora could hear her. Sora threw a scowl at Yoruichi who simply stuck her tongue out in return with a wink. With an eye roll, Sora looked back at their travelling companion.
"Try blaming it on a technical fault. That seems to be a good enough reason these days for any situation." Even in giving advice out to the needy, Sora somehow managed to turn the topic back to wanting even more details out of Yoruichi.
"Not the best luck with computers?" the man asked sheepishly as he tried to get used to looking at the sight of the two women in such close proximity.
"I don't know if it's bad luck, good luck or just plain stupidity." Sora shook her head at Yoruichi's shrug accompanied by her trademark grin to her remark.
"Good luck with the extension." He bowed his head to the two of them when the lift stopped at the floor he needed.
"And you." Yoruichi called after him brightly, causing Sora to shake and snort with contained laughter until the doors shut once more.
"There's no way your pathetic company is worthy of our cooperation." Vega spat at her. This time Soifon was the one to react to the words being hurled between the two parties, her eye visibly twitched at her company to be the one at the end of the insults. This was something that Vega failed to notice but Baraggan caught sight of her reaction. He slowly curled his fingers downwards into a relaxed stance compared to holding them upright like before, his hand still held in the air from when he attempted to silence his young, passionate assistant.
"You are not even aware of the true meaning of this charade." Soifon spoke with soft determination to Vega though her eyes never left Baraggan. There were sounds of protest uttered by the assistant however Baraggan silenced him again, this time by standing up from his seat. Soifon rose from her own, matching Baraggan's movements.
"We will be in touch." Vega grunted in obedience, the old man never broke his silence though he nodded to Soifon in a polite manner unbefitting of the tense atmosphere in the room. One of the best outcomes of their meeting finally being declared over was that Soifon would no longer have to stomach the sight or sound of Vega believing he had a right to speak to her.
"I shall personally escort you out of the building. I'm sure by now your other assistants will have been guided out by my staff earlier." Soifon led the way, guiding the two through the corridors, eager to reach the elevators so that she could be rid of them for good.
"I can't believe this, this isn't happening." Sora continued to mutter and mumble her disbelief to Yoruichi, "I mean, it's Shawn! I think the only time I have ever seen her crack a smile is when she has personally fired someone." Sora's questioning eyes sought out Yoruichi's own golden irises as if she was seeking some sort of confirmation on the matter.
"I can assure you that I have seen Shawn smile plenty of times and more. Great now you got me calling her that too." Yoruichi mentally slapped herself for getting too caught up in Sora's habits. Sora nodded at learning there was a softer side to her boss with a look of doubt, then her eyes widened with further questions, her brain playing catch up with what she had actually heard.
"Wait really? You're telling me she does that stuff?" It was very clear that even if Yoruichi did reveal further details about her relationship with Soifon that Sora was going to have a hard time indeed picturing her boss acting in such a manner. Besides that, even though Yoruichi was literally being shaken for answers by the ecstatic woman before her, those details were only for herself to know about. On top of all that Yoruichi acknowledged that any kind of grand reveal on how Soifon conducted herself in their relationship was more than likely far too much information for her little bee to personally sting her to death.
"I can no longer confirm or deny further inquiries into this matter however if you are worried about me in any shape, way or form, rest assured that I'm happy, over the moon and back kind of happy." Yoruichi adopted her best business-like manner, almost copying how Soifon would no doubt deliver a work speech. Both of the women were too busy chuckling at the display to pay attention to the fact that the lift they were still chatting away inside of, had begun to move.
"Worried? Yoruichi I feel like you handed me undeniable proof that the earth is flat." Sora managed to exclaim when she could breathe easy once more. Yoruichi instinctively turned away from Sora now when her mind overflowed with every example she could possibly give to prove Soifon's innocence, however the urge to keep those precious memories to herself was far more powerful than the need to show how amazing her adorable buzzing bee was to anyone other than herself and herself alone.
"Yoruichi a-are you… you are aren't you." Sora's voice changed instantly, it took on a softer tone when she noticed a very visible blush consuming Yoruichi's cheeks and at how her golden eyes sparkled from that same warmth and devotion dedicated to her Soifon.
"I -" Yoruichi began forming the words in her mind, it was surprisingly difficult to actually say them out loud after she had gotten used to censoring herself around the one who created them within herself. "I lo - " She had managed to sound out the first syllable that belonged to the second word when the doors to their elevator chimed open.
Yoruichi's shimmering, love soaked irises met the silver eyes of the one she needed most in her life and who now stood before her. Those same silver eyes that shined brighter than the stars at night were now absorbing the sight of Sora stood with Yoruichi against the wall, Sora's hands rested on Yoruichi's shoulders, who was smiling in the way that was meant to be reserved for Soifon's eyes alone. Those same silver eyes locked onto golden ones and a sinking dread began to grow in the pit of Yoruichi's stomach as the wide eyed shock transformed, the colour seemed to drain from Soifon, the sparkling silver light faded until Yoruichi was staring into barren dull grey irises, devoid of emotion.
Sora felt the tension build in Yoruichi's frame, saw the worry and doubt consume the darker skinned woman in front of her to know that the worst had probably happened before she heard the sound of footsteps, alerting Sora to the fact that several people had joined them in the lift. Out of morbid curiosity to confirm her building suspicions, Sora turned to look at their latest travelling companions, very aware she was turning to face her doom. From the stories Sora had heard over the years on how Soifon disposes of those she considers worthless, the last thing she expected to see when facing Soifon now was nothing. There was no anger, no hint of betrayal, no sense of anything as Soifon stood in front of Sora and Yoruichi, slowly blinking now and then while the two men that accompanied Soifon stood either side of her.
"Ground floor is it?" Vega asked in an impatient manner, already having pressed the button and turned to face the closing doors, no real interest in the scene they had interrupted. His leader however, stood facing the two women exactly like Soifon did, examining the now palpable tension in the air and how it appeared to ripple with every movement the blond woman made to disengage her contact with the purple haired beauty.
"That is correct." Soifon's voice also seemed to have extinguished any hint of emotion and this was backed up by how she turned on the spot to face the doors, similar to how a robot would operate on autopilot once Sora and Yoruichi were no longer on top of each other. This left the oldest and tallest of Soifon's companions to be the one to examine the two women with such intensity and focus that Sora felt like all of her defences were being stripped away by the cruel understanding set in his olive green eyes. Sora risked a glance at Yoruichi when she heard a breath from the woman stick in her throat at Soifon turning her back on her, visible conflict shimmered in the emotional golden eyes and Sora assumed she was fighting the urge to reach out to Soifon and yet knew she shouldn't given the current company by the way Yoruichi's hand had jerked forward and twitched when she stopped herself.
An unexpected movement at Soifon's side gripped the business woman's stomach like a sharpened claw digging at her insides, grasping at them, twisting them ever so slowly at the sight of Baraggan's arm moving steadily forward. Her steel gaze tracked the slow movement, eventually forcing Soifon to turn her head to keep sight of his muscular hand on its path to meet Yoruichi's outstretched, slender fingers.
"It's a pleasure to meet you my dear." Baraggan's voice vibrated with the experience his age granted him and with each word he spoke, the vice like claw that had been busy carving Soifon's stomach into jelly felt like it was now had a new goal as it tugged and pulled at her the longer the man and Yoruichi remained frozen in time with their hands entwined.
"Why I'm practically charmed." Yoruichi smiled dispassionately back at him when her small attempt to free her hand failed. A quick glance at Soifon confirmed that this odd interaction was not helping things at all. She desperately needed everyone to vanish right now so that she could take hold of her bumble bee, to reassure her, to tell her things were not as she had seen. It was Yoruichi's own stupid fault for spending an entire night creating a jealous rift between Soifon and Sora, she should have known that any news of her interacting with Sora would cause them to resurface, let alone catch them in such a comprising position. Luckily Yoruichi knew the cure, she knew how to solve this problem before the jealousy took too much control away from her Soifon but she couldn't act until these strangers were out of the way which left Yoruichi wishing she had the power to stop time itself just so she could ease any doubt or fears building within her bee's heart.
"I have never seen you here before." Baraggan continued to speak to Yoruichi, adding fuel to the fire that was slowly but surely, boiling Soifon's blood into a silent rage. "I'm very certain that I would recall seeing someone as beautiful as you therefore you must be new here."
"S-she's an intern," Sora spoke up when neither Yoruichi or Soifon said anything in a timely manner, very aware that Soifon's mask had finally slipped, anger flashed dangerously in her eyes at the old man's words. He had shown her the greatest disrespect by refusing to talk with her directly throughout their entire meeting and yet now… now he didn't seem to care that every word he uttered was the equivalent of stamping on her heart and grinding it into dust, in fact he seemed to relish at the idea of ending her life in such a manner.
Why now, why break your silence because of Yoruichi… Soifon was sure she had hid all emotions at the sight which greeted her when the doors to the lift had pinged open. There should have been no visible sign from her of any connection to Yoruichi, she had thrown up a defensive barricade, separating her mind from the onslaught of emotions that threatened to consume her at seeing Yoruichi in the arms of another. Her defences felt feeble and weak the more Baraggan assaulted her with every word he uttered to Yoruichi, she was left clueless at how he seemed to press his advantage, he even had the nerve to take a bold step towards the chocolate coloured Goddess as well.
"An intern, well in that case." He snapped the fingers of his free hand, summoning Ggio Vega to his side who produced a card out of his suit pocket and proceeded to offer it to Yoruichi. "Should you find the pay of a lowly intern position unsuitable to the lifestyle you desire, please consider working for my firm. I would ensure a role befitting your true skills." Baraggan never took his eyes off Yoruichi who declined the offer to take the card, she gave a firmer tug in an attempt to free her hand except Baraggan kept his firm hold, not ready to release her any time soon.
"Thanks but no thanks, I'm quite happy with my role here." Yoruichi put on a sickly sweet smile.
"That's a great pity, my office would shine brighter than the sun if you were my assistant." He lamented, Sora all but choked at hearing both the bold compliment and at how Soifon's expression grew dangerously dark, she could almost see the flames of anger bursting into life around the small business woman. If anything, Despite it all Sora couldn't help but feel the tiniest bit of relief at knowing this anger was directed at someone other than herself, if the fates were kind, she may be able to slip out unnoticed if Soifon was too busy picturing ways to butcher this man instead of herself.
"Might I suggest installing more bulbs if light is all you are after." Yoruichi kept her fake smile fixed in place while the man before her vibrated with deep laughter.
"Yes I suppose that would work. I could also settle for making a return trip here as well. A prospect that I deemed unnecessary earlier but now I think it would be worth reconsidering if it meant seeing you again, Miss?" Soifon was unable to tell if this was some sort of act the man was displaying or if Yoruichi's beauty really had thrown him head over heels upon laying his eyes upon her. An idea that was not entirely impossible as Yoruichi had stolen all of her attention the moment she set eyes on her back at the club when they had first met.
"Naroko." Yoruichi answered calmly despite feeling the need to dip her hand in scolding hot water to cleanse it from his touch. "And I'm fairly certain attending such a meeting would be above my station."
"Sir, it is time we should be going." Vega cleared his throat and all members of the party became aware of the fact that the lift had reached the ground floor with Vega holding the doors open so they could disembark the compartment. Baraggan turned to look at Soifon for the first time since he had entered the lift though he kept his firm hold on Yoruichi's hand locked in place.
"If you would consider allowing Miss Naroko to join us for our next consultation, I'm sure she would make an excellent negotiator and allow us to finally make progress towards achieving both our mutual goals and personal ones." Soifon opened her mouth to reply, to form some sort of protest to the idea when her mouth formed a silent gasp of horror at Baraggan's next actions. Once he had finished speaking, he focused all of his attention on Yoruichi once more and lowered his head towards her, making a short bow and lifted her hand higher to meet his movement. His white beard made contact with Yoruichi's hand first, it tickled her skin briefly before she felt his lips plant a firm kiss on her knuckles. "Till next time my lady." His dark green eyes held Yoruichi's gaze after he withdrew both his lips and his hold on her hand. The three ladies remained motionless in the lift as they watched both Baraggan and Vega slowly make their way across the lobby to leave the building.
Yoruichi was the first to break the tension by swiftly withdrawing her hand and wiping it furiously against her trouser leg, eager to rid herself of the sensation both his beard and his dry lips had left on her skin. Sora jumped a little at the sudden movement and took a deep breath, unsure when it felt like she had stopped breathing while the two were presented with the back of Soifon once more who stood, slightly ahead of them. Much to her dismay, Sora realised that Soifon now blocked her path towards freedom meaning that she would most likely be unable to get past her boss without meeting her wrath in some shape way or form. The doors to the lift began to close, instinctively Sora tried to step towards them in an attempt to make her escape except Soifon's arm jerked upwards, she caught hold of the doors, forcing them to remain open, effectively blocking Sora's movement at the same time.
"I'm gonna get fired." Sora whispered in self realisation now that no one else was around to take the brunt of Soifon's anger. Yoruichi quirked an eyebrow at the statement and did her best not to laugh at the distressed look plastered across Sora's face. If Sora could see the way Soifon's lips curled into a cruel smile at catching the whispered panic in Sora's voice, she would no doubt fear for more than just her job as Soifon glowered triumphantly at the idea of being the one to personally push Sora out of the top floor window.
"While the idea has merit, that would not satisfy me in the slightest." Soifon's voice was laced with venom, her emotions seeking any means of a release.
"Forget fired, she's gonna kill me." Sora gulped and pressed herself into the wall of the lift in hopes of slipping through it and feeling the need for physical support as her life flashed before her eyes. Unfortunately Yoruichi was unable to take Sora's plea seriously and snorted with failed attempts to repress her laughter. "Oh gee, thanks for your help." Sora whispered frantically back at the laughing woman who to her credit managed to recover rather quickly.
"Alright, don't worry about it." Yorucihi patted Sora's shoulder reassuringly, Sora seemed to shrink away from the contact as though it would only add further fuel to fire ready to consume her. "I think it's best if you go, I'll handle this." Yoruichi smiled warmly at Sora though her golden eyes snapped to Soifon who turned on the spot to face her.
"You'll handle this?" Soifon had no idea how Yoruichi could claim to settle the stormy ocean cascading against her chest in such a casual manner. "How exactly do you plan to handle this?" Her voice rose in response to match the whirlwind of emotions inside of her.
"Go." Yoruichi commanded with more seriousness this time round to Sora. While she knew Soifon's actions were justified by her current understanding of the situation as she knew it, Yoruichi had no intention of letting Soifon build this up into anything bigger than it needed to be. She was going to squash this jealousy here and now before Soifon's mind let it warp and distort her reality any further. Sora thankfully did not stop to ask questions and skirted past Soifon now that Yoruichi was stealing her focus by advancing towards the shorter woman.
"Let me guess, you plan on flashing that smile of yours just like you did to him." Soifon spat the words at Yoruichi, her golden gaze softened at how Soifon's body had locked itself in a tense and rigid posture at seeing Yoruichi advance towards her.
Oh my beautiful buzzing little bumble bee, love poured out of Yoruichi as she reached her hand out to Soifon's clenched fist. I'll show you, I'll prove to you that you never need to raise your walls against me. Her cameral fingertips danced across Soifon's knuckles and skilfully wore down the tension in her hand to entwine her fingers into Soi's delicate ones. The familiar warmth that Yoruichi's touch brought had overwhelmed her senses that Soifon's anger turned to shock at seeing how their fingers interlocked as if she had been the one to initiate the contact herself. What startled Soifon even more was how she allowed Yorucihi to guide her away from the doors of the lift so they could close shut. That shouldn't have happened, how did her body betray herself and bend to Yoruichi's will when she was meant to be the one in control here.
"I suppose you are used to attention like that, having men and women fall at your feet like you're some sort of princess." Soifon tried to think of something, anything to make Yorucihi feel the hurt she had felt when those doors opened to reveal her with Sora. "I won't be one of them." Her attempt to make that sound like a threat failed miserably when she recalled how she practically did just that all but a few nights ago.
"Then I'll throw myself at yours." Yoruichi replied honestly, determined to break through the last remnants of Soifon's defences. The way Soifon's fingers responded to her own and how those silver eyes shimmered with need, seeking out her own eyes for comfort was all the proof Yoruichi needed to press her advantage.
"He thought he could take you away." Soifon turned her head away from Yoruichi, her breath hitched in her throat at the thought of how Baraggan had acted as if Yoruichi was never hers to begin with. Yoruichi claimed Soifon's other hand and felt her heartbeat protest against the idea of Soifon thinking that she would want anyone but her. She slowly and purposely allowed her fingers to drift up and along Soifon's forearms and smiled at how the tight muscles beneath her touch melted and softened through the jacket.
I would never let anyone steal me away from you. Yoruichi didn't dare speak, she wanted to hear Soifon let go of all her fears and doubts this encounter had ignited in her soul. There would be plenty of time for Soifon to listen to her own promises of love and protection another time, I won't let anyone take you away from myself either. Yoruichi sealed her mental promise by taking a step even closer to Soifon, her senses overpowered by the scent of coconut from her lover's hair, her hands came to a rest on Soi's shoulder muscles, her fingers gliding back and forth in a small, delicate patterns to provide an extra source of comfort now that Soifon turned back to look at her, those beautiful silver eyes shimmered with unshed tears.
"You belong to me." Soifon couldn't decide if this was a fact or a question, it was the only thing she could think of saying that seemed to have an equal weight with the turmoil that Yoruichi's close proximity and touch was steadily transforming back into a tranquil lagoon that she wanted to dive head first into. Soifon also knew that if she did so, she'd never want to surface from it again because somewhere in its depths, she knew Yoruichi lay at the bottom, waiting patiently for Soifon to find her and embrace her with open arms.
"I am yours," Yoruichi's speech was barely above a whisper, it was hard for her to focus on speech, she wanted nothing more than to allow her senses to be swept away at how warm Soi's breath felt against her cheeks. "All yours," she rested her forehead against Soifon's and marvelled at how contact from her bee was all Yoruichi ever needed to feel so at ease with the world. She knew that she could easily spend the rest of her life and beyond in such a peaceful state of bliss and not need or crave anything else as long as she was able to hold Soifon in her arms.
A/N: Three chapters in one day in god only knows how many years. I know, I'm as shocked as you guys (if anyone stuck around this long that is) I am truly humbled if so and can only apologise for keeping you in dark as far as this story's progress goes.
I can only hope that the writing bug that has gripped me sticks around so that I may continue to share and explore the love between these two because daaam, writing that last part got my heart beating and I hope it inspired similar feelings for you guys.
