Infinite Stratos (IS) Yuri

Five (revised)

"The more I read about Japanese culture the more confused I get," Laura Bodewig noted as they sat together, talking. Several of the foreign transfer students met to talk about issues they had at the school. And to gossip, too...

"Hmm?" Cecilia Alcott looked at her curiously.

"SOMEHOW it's fine to engage in lesbianism in school, but once you reach adulthood you supposedly go completely straight," Laura read with her usual complete lack of tact.

Cecilia nearly choked on her cup of tea before staring in blank confusion at the other girl. "What," she asked.

"Read it," Laura passed the tablet over.

Cecilia browsed the article, blinking slowly as she digested it. "Agreed," she concluded, "the Japanese are weird."

"Yes, that's... huh," Charlotte Dunois agreed. The boyish blonde haired girl was the object of more than one female crush, too.

Rin Huang nodded as she said, "China is a bit like that too, though it might be from contamination from Japan."

All four women, as elite IS pilots, had fanclubs at the school. Which was odd enough. But they also kept getting PROPOSITIONED by other girls. In class. In the halls. Even in the showers.

(Admittedly no one was dumb enough to try and get grabby with Laura. She'd break your arm, or worse. But girls clearly were interested...)

"Is France like that?" Laura addressed Charlotte.

"No, no," Charlotte shook her head, "it's quite open. Colette is one of our literary treasures." As the other girls looked confused she added, "I'll lend you the book."

"Do you think we should ask Houki about it?" Rin suggested.

Cecilia thought of Houki, who was carrying the biggest torch for Ichika AND was probably the closest to a traditional Japanese lady. "She'd murder us in embarrassment," Cecilia noted wryly.

"Yeah...," Laura agreed. "And we CAN'T ask Chifuyu-sensei."

"I would die of embarrassment," Cecelia agreed. Not that everyone didn't think Chifuyu-sensei was hot. She had a bigger fanclub than any of them.

"So..." Laura murmured.

"WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME?" Maya Yamada, the OTHER main teacher, whimpered.

"Please, ma'am?" Cecilia batted her eyes.

"Don't do that. Your trying to look sweet is just creepy," Maya sighed.

"We really could use an adult to ask these questions," Laura said mildly.

Maya sighed and gave in, though she mentally vowed that Chifuyu owed her BIG for sending the kids to her.

To be continued...

Notes: Japanese culture around yuri is actually kinda strange. As noted above on one hand yuri is OK in school, yet once you graduate you are supposed to go completely straight. And apparently adult lesbians are sometimes regarded as 'emotionally immature' for not growing out of it.

In theory they probably SHOULD have gone to Chifuyu but there's the whole issue of her being the big sister of the guy they want to bang. Makes it complicated if you want to talk about cultural issues around banging your fellow pilots.
