"Jumpson!" Captain Velvet Meteor saw Jumpson in a monitor, having watched his fight versus David.
"My mind is becoming clear nowadays." Jumpson reassured. "Thanks that 'Runner for saving my mind."
"Wait... those words being twisted in his perspective, so I got problems with communication." Jumpson explained. "Alas, after the fight, I'm back to my senses."
"We're glad you're safe!" Luffy is relieved. "Survive and seek a way out!"
"I'll try." Jumpson then shouted. "General Teddie, where's my next opponent!?"
Meanwhile...
The Ouroboros, having helped setting up several cameras to record the battles, emerged out from Loot Lake.
"Our job this morning is finished." Taion reported. "Let's take a break."
"Ok, because we're a bit tired." Noah took six packs of chug jugs.
"Look up. There's the Cross Gate!" Mio told the Ouroboros.
The Ouroboros looked up, and saw a extremely large Cross Gate, with a mothership emerging from it. The mothership flew and landed on the ocean, with several airships spawned from it. One such airship landed near the Loot Lake.
"Looks like we for some help." Lanz commented.
"Attention, those who warped into this lake!" A woman and her army of humanoid robots approached the Ouroboros.
The woman is wearing an Akatsuki cloak, has short blonde hair and has heterochromia: her left eye is gem-blue, while the right is emerald-green.
"Who're you!?" The Ouroboros asked.
"We are the Canon Bringers." The woman introduced the whole organization. "Ever since the first scrapping of Zero Point, we, Continuum Exploitation Authority, have been protecting and sustaining all possibilities from an omniversal war and more."
"Huh? First scrapping of Zero Point?" Noah is confused. "Continuum... Exploitation... Authority?"
"Canon... Bringers?" Taion is confused. "I didn't even think they're existing at all."
"You have had no idea of who we are, but now, we have a chance to explain it to you." The woman explained. "I am Ms. Continuum, and these are our armies, Canon Bringers."
"Oh, right..." Mio realized. "But what about the destruction of the Zero Point?"
"That was the last straw, the latest of scrappings." Ms. Continuum revealed. "Without our intervention, the omniverse could have been destroyed."
"Ridiculous as queen's flame!" Lanz replied.
"'P-1 Grand Prix: Cross Edition' is taking place inside the black sphere on Loot Lake." Noah then pointed the black sphere. "Our allies, including our queens, are investigating this tournament."
"I see." Ms. Continuum responded. "Your final target is the one behind the scrapping, Genjitsu-no-Omnia?"
"Yes!" Sena confirmed. "We have learned a lot about it!"
"Genjitsu-no-Omnia completely the Zero Point, destroying Reality Zero." Taion explained. "As a result, there are rifts everywhere."
Then the Ouroboros explained everything from the moments leading to the destruction of Zero Point, up until that point.
"As I suspected." Ms. Continuum responded. "Genjitsu-no-Omnia is a morbid threat to the omniverse."
"We also have a mysterious sword that our alliance has been keeping." Noah gave Ms. Continuum the mysterious sword. "It's like Lucky Seven on fire, apparently."
"You have the Sword of Reality!?" Ms. Continuum is shocked.
"We found it while we were scavenging the ruins." Lanz explained. "It has the voice as well."
"Kagutsuchi as the blade..." Ms. Continuum observed the sword. "It's like the Sword of Origin but capable of feats such as initiating an omniversal onslaught!"
"This sword is exceedingly dangerous." Ms. Continuum warned the Ouroboros. "It can channel energies from the entire omniverse."
"We have used it only once." Noah reported. "Ben Tennyson killed a man named Strike with that sword."
"What happened to it before?" Mio asked.
"This was created after the first few scrappings of Zero Point, forged with all the possibilities Zero Point is capable to project." Ms. Continuum explained. "The Malevolent Entity, Hi-no-Kagutsuchi and two corrupted donors of great powers, are among the souls used to forge the sword."
"This was going to be Genjitsu-no-Omnia's sword, but due to the souls contained inside rebelled and cause the sword to lose control, she simply threw it into the void." Ms. Continuum continued. "The sword has been there for well over a thousand years' worth of time, all the way until the last scrapping."
"Don't worry." Noah reassured Ms. Continuum. "We won't use this sword for nefarious purposes."
"Good." Ms. Continuum approved. "By the way, do you know about Viola Redfield?"
"Viola Redfield? You mean that punky daughter of Ms. Bayonetta and Mr. Redfield?" Lanz questioned. "Daughter of the streaking duo that's dragged into Inferno? And then, that demon Cheshire too?"
"Precisely." Ms. Continuum confirmed. "She and her pact demon has been found to be related to Genjitsu-no-Omnia's current plans."
"The problem is... We don't know where she is, other than fact she entered the Loot Lake." Noah reported. "The black sphere in the Loot Lake leads to the tournament."
Meanwhile...
David ran as fast as he could, but the invisible walls blocked him from most of his way, forcing him to route the hell out of it.
"So many invisible walls, one after another...!" David complained. "If Miss President can pass through them, I don't know if I can keep up the pursuit!"
David stills targeted the Announcement Zone. Tempti and General Teddie should be in there, and if Nanako and the Cube Queen are being held captive, they'd be found there, too.
David kept running, but yet another wall blocked the hallway. At first, it seems like a dead end... until David noticed a portal that leads to Purgatorio, and realized that he can cut through it and come out on the other side of the wall with another portal.
This means David is forced to go to Purgatorio, which means...
"There must be an upcoming fight for me." David braced himself and entered the portal.
The moment David stepped into the Purgatorio, a voice echoed in his mind.
"Martinez...! Mr. Martinez...!" It is Tempti of Joy. "Can you hear me!? Please answer me!"
"That 'voice'...?" David noticed. "You're Tempti of Joy? The real one!?"
Her voice isn't from the system anywhere, but rather telepathic.
"Thank goodness...! I've been trapped ever since that fake Teddie captured me, Ms. Dojima, and the Cube Queen..." Tempti is worried. "And then you're all fighting each other..."
She sounded so different from the insensitive and rude voice from the system that composes the commentary of the fights. This really is Tempti.
"Where are you now, Miss Tempti?" David asked. "Can you locate where I am?"
"Sorry, mister, I feel like there's no time left!" Tempti responded in fear. "And I'm stuck in the Announcement Room!"
"Please, Mr. Martinez, you have to hurry!" Tempti begged David. "If you don't, they'll-" *screams*
The only answer David received was that Tempti and General Teddie is in the Announcement Room, likely inside the Announcement Zone.
But the communication has been cut off. Has something happened at the Announcement Room?
Turns out the enemy didn't just make participants fight each other in such spite, they've captured people like Tempti as well. Clearly they must have been worried about she telepathically telling the truth... If she was being captured to prevent her from contacting with the alliance then well... the enemy must have thought of Tempti as being less valuable.
"I have to hurry... What's gonna happen!?"
"Pardon me for interrupting, you bastard!" A woman appeared.
David suddenly noticed the woman, who's wearing a scarf and having Bayonetta's glasses. Her hand brushed his shoulder, and he jumped out in response.
David looked at the woman, at her blonde hair, similar to a pixie cut and symmetric hairstyle, laced with violet streaks and pink colouring on the shaved back of her head. She wears vibrant purple and blue eyeshadow with magenta lightning bolts at the sides and blue lipstick and has two piercings on her left ear in the silhouette of a cat head.
She wears a black leather jacket, studded with spikes and buckles around the shoulders and wrists, wearing a white graphic shirt with the word "stake" beneath it that exposes her midriff. The jacket has a holster for her sword along the back and she appears to keep some of the spiked darts she can throw around the waist. Her belt has numerous blue tartan pouches and her pants are of a similar design but coloured in red. She wears a pair of black leather boots that go up to just below the knee. She is wielding a(n elaborative) katana with a doll for keychain.
She indeed looks like a punk, and then she also has Bayonetta's glasses, which David recognized. As well as the scarf, which David correctly identified to be from Luka Redfield.
"Sorry if I startled you, but..." The woman responded.
"You're... uhhh..." David has no idea. "And that glasses... Bayonetta?"
"Nice to meet you, cyberpunk." The woman greeted David. "My name is Viola, and I'm an Umbra Witch!"
"I saw you from the introduction video, or the commercial as you said it." Viola revealed. "You're listed as... the Edgerunner Whose Humanity Bypassed Cyberpsychosis, Mr. Martinez. Right?"
David is shocked and caught off guard at what Viola said. Not to mention, Umbra Witches has an ability called 'Witch Time', which slows down time on them should they do something ridiculously dramatic in their combat favor... Even crazier... Viola seems to truly believe such ridiculous title.
sigh* "Lucy is important to me, but how I became cyberpsycho is a long story." David responded. "Miss Viola, was it? Why are you here?"
"I'm the new Bayonetta, and working under Rodin's commands." Viola replied back. "...but we have come here for a different reason."
"Rodin?" David wondered about it. "Ummm... What?"
"Yes. As I said, I'm an Umbra Witch." Viola confirmed. "I turned out to be a daughter of that Umbra-Lumen hybrid and that one adventurous man," *referring to Bayonetta and Luka* "I have a pact with Cheshire, that big kitty inside my blade."
David is surprised to see an Umbra Witch in the tournament... and a punk, on top of that!
"How strange..." David isn't all that lit about it. "And what's the reason you're here?"
Viola was about to respond, but a flying monitor turned on.
"Ahaaaa! So that's where you got to, cyberpunk!" General Teddie found David. "I've been looking all over to you!"
"Ooooh... who's that punk?" General Teddie noticed Viola. Then he looked at David. "Were you in the middle of trying to score with her?"
"As if you didn't know..." David responded. "You're the one who lured both here."
"Oh my, did you figure it out?" General Teddie responded back. "I didn't have a choice after those guys decided on their own to horn in on the fun."
"You're a bright boy, cyberpunk..." General Teddie contemplated. "You know what's coming next, don't you?" *twisted smile*
Monitor turns off and flew away. Could Viola be causing General Teddie trouble? Anyways, both fighters realizes that the m each other are the next opponent, and Viola smirked at it.
"Sorry about this..." David told Viola. "Do you know the rule of this tournament?"
"Only the victor of each match may move on." Viola replied. "If a fighter dies or gives up, they gets disqualified and become illegible to participate from there on out."
"I have nothing against you, Miss Viola." David told Viola. "...but I'm in a hurry for our own reasons."
"If neither of us can back down... no hard feeling, right?" Viola responded, taking her katana, which she refers to as Mabu-Dachi. "Anyways, my name Viola, the new Bayonetta!"
A bitter thought comes to David: It's tough being forced to fight allies, but for some reason having to hurt someone he doesn't even know is tougher. Since David doesn't really know Viola, perhaps her appearance here means that there might be something a cyberpunk like him currently can't fathom. What gives him the right to stop her on her current mission? Shouldn't he know the stakes first before he takes that from her? At least Viola didn't go mad at all, unlike everyone David has fought so far in the tournament.
"We have to fight!" Viola told David. "We will only speak more of everything after one of us wins."
Both silently took their stances. To thanks the consideration, David shouted that he's ready to fight.
"Then... here goes!" David is ready. "Bring it on, Umbra punk!"
"Indeed, dude! Let's us do battle!" Viola proceeded.
Meanwhile...
"We've got the first disqualification." Malkuth? "The Cube Queen, you're very impressive to have killed this man!"
The Cube Queen has recently killed James Bond in a fight, and 'Malkuth' took his mangled corpse.
"You originally would try to destroy Reality Zero, so I appreciate your calibration of heat." 'Malkuth' then laughed.
"Wait... Are you even Ms. Malkuth?" The Cube Queen is shocked.
'Malkuth' then glared at the Cube Queen, fully revealing the former's yellow Shadow eyes.
"I am a Shadow... The true self..." She echoed.
"You're... a Shadow!?" The Cube Queen is horrified.
"You will continue fighting." Shadow Malkuth told the Cube Queen. "Only the victor may advance."
"Omnia... Why would you take the Shadows-" The Cube Queen complained-
"Silence!" Shadow Malkuth interrupted the Cube Queen. "And go to your next stage!"
"This is it!" The Cube Queen then kicked the body away. "You'll all regret toying our existence by making us fight each other for no real reason!"
"If you don't play along, you'll be executed!" Shadow Malkuth pointed her sword onto the Cube Queen.
The Cube Queen then quietly floated away, clothes splattered with blood from James Bond.
"Good girl!" Shadow Malkuth then laughed. "I hope you enjoys your upcoming fights!"
"You're so shitty, yet so brilliant." Ikue Higashi appeared. "Good!"
"What's the next fights!?" Shadow Malkuth is excited. "Let's go sort it all out!" *laugh*
Ikue (Fusion) and Shadow Malkuth then left.
