A/N: HELLO EVERYBODY! I am still working on this fanfiction and despite months of waiting I finally made some new content. But seriously, college has been an adjustment for me keeping up with work, alongside moving to a new city for college, and just not knowing how to write quickly or just wanting the quality of my writing to be the best it could be.
Octoblob
One thing that I learned after legitimately training for the first time is that Ladybug and I were only scratching the surface on what we can do and even how well we can fight. Even though it took a few days for me to actually train because of school, it was worth it. Honestly I wondered how both me and Ladybug managed to be good in a fight and stop akumas during the time before we met Master Fu. I guess while we transformed we suddenly learned how to fight to the point where we can accurately defend ourselves, maybe I could research more about that later. At least I have fencing classes that helped me learn how to fight with a staff, I'm sure Ladybug would have had prior training when not transformed.
Speaking of Ladybug, we are on better terms than we were a few days ago, she promised me that I will give me more credit for saving Paris and how I won't have to feel like an afterthought. Not only that but she said that if she would be willing to be mind controlled by a super villain just I don't feel like I am just expendable. After all I have always trusted her but now she is going to make an effort to trust me more. I am glad that what I said had an effect on changing things…this is what it feels like to stand up for myself for once. It hardly happens but when I do it, everything works out in the end.
The project is going well, ever since I decided to make a collage I have found photos capturing meaningful experiences/things in my life. It won't be the most exciting project and there are certain things I would have to leave out, but hey I would be proud of it.
Anyway I have to go find more photos for my project. Since school is over and I have time before my Chinese lessons I am going to go out to find more photos for my project and somewhere to work on it. My bodyguard is accompanying me so at least I won't have to wear that disguise I wore yesterday.
"Okay, three hours should be more than enough time to find everything I need." I said to myself.
While he was out on the streets of Paris, Adrien was walking through various locations in Paris to find what he needed.
"Let's see what I need…." I thought to himself.
Throughout this time, Adrien first went to the Louvre museum to take pictures of various artwork he used to see as a child. After this he went to the theater to where he managed to go backstage and see the people who managed to make the movies he used to see such as the directors and scriptwriters and editors.
"So…. I was wondering, what did you do before you became my bodyguard?" I questioned.
As the Gorilla and Adrien walked down the street, he took out his wallet which showed Adrien pictures of him when he was younger with his friends and family.
"Hmm…. you used to be in the olympics. That's so cool, you must have so much fun competing in events all over the world. What event did you compete in?" I asked.
"You received 7 gold medals throughout your time in the olympics for winning swimming events in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly strokes." I responded to his pictures.
"That is so cool. I'm sure going to the olympics was an amazing time for you, did you get to travel a lot?" I asked as I saw my bodyguard nod.
Eventually the Gorilla showed Adrien photos of all the places the Olympics were held until he retired from. Including Germany, Canada, Russia, Spain, South Korea, and the United States of America.
"You must have loved going around these countries and competing for all of these people to see. Do you ever wish you could go back to that life?" I wondered.
Almost immediately after Adrien asked this question, his bodyguard stopped and went up to his level and showed him pictures of him bonding with Adrien as a child seeing how he has been with the Agrestes even longer than Nathalie and looked forward to watching Adrien when he was young.
"You were with me for a long time, huh. I guess working as a bodyguard was your way of finding a new purpose after the Olympics." I said smiling, as my bodyguard nodded.
"I wish I knew what I wanted to do in life." I thought to myself as the two continued walking
Eventually Adrien finally made it to the main stop on his destination… Paris' orphanage. The building itself is one of the oldest building in Paris as it got a remodel every few years. Inside the building was filled with empty rooms, an empty dining hall, an empty backyard, and an empty office as the owner and the orphans all waited inside to see Adrien.
"Well it's been a while." I commented.
"If it is okay, I would like to go in there alone." I requested seeing my bodyguard nod.
"Alright children, Adrien is coming in any second now be on your best behavior." Genevieve Mazet commented.
"Yes, Ms. Mazet." the children said in unison.
"Why hello Mr. Agreste it's nice to see you again" Ms. Mazet commented as she extended her hand to Adrien. "It is nice to see you come back after some time."
"Oh you know, modeling career, advertising sessions and…. enjoying school." I mentioned.
"You are in school now, this is great congratulations! I am so happy for you!" Ms. Mazet stated as she hugged me. "So how is school going for you?"
"It's actually really cool, everyone was very nice to me and I managed to make some new friends." I explained while looking away in thought.
"How are things going with your father?" Ms. Mazet questioned.
"Nothing has changed, you know him. If he knew if I had been coming here to visit the kids, he would have used this opportunity to promote the brand." I said sighing.
"Don't worry he won't find out about this." Ms. Mazet sincerely mentioned. "Anyway the kids are looking forward to seeing you again. Adoption day is happening later today and the kids could use a break before having to get ready to be adopted." As Adrien went over to the kids he saw so many faces who were waiting to see him. Unlike the cold professional businessmen and businesswomen he saw constantly around his father, the children actually wanted to see Adrien for him, not just for a brand.
"Hi kids, I heard that you guys are getting adopted today." Adrien remarked to the kids' excitement.
"After all this time we are going to get the chance to find a new family." one kid stated.
"It must be very exciting for you guys, to get another chance for a new life. Anyway why don't you guys show me what has been going on with you guys since I last seen you?" I requested.
As Adrien walked around the orphanage, he saw how the orphans would live. The courtyard is filled with laughs of the kids as they would play Four Square and Hopscotch. Everytime the kids go out in the courtyard the normally quiet asphalt plain comes alive as there were also various playground equipment for the kids to use. On the inside there were 3 floors, the first floor involved the main office and sections for adoption interviews, the second floor had the rooms for the orphans and the cafeteria, finally the third floor is for maintaining electricity throughout the orphanage.
Eventually after the tour of the orphanage, it was almost time for the adoption interviews to start and before Adrien left he went to see one particular orphan.
This particular orphan was someone Adrien knew for a long time, he was a 10 year old boy who have jet black hair, tan brown skin, bright blue eyes, and was wearing a top hat. He was one of the older kids in the orphanage and through it all he became more and more bitter.
"Hey Fletcher, are you okay?" I asked in concern.
"Hmm… oh yeah no I'm okay." Fletcher sarcastically said in a not so subtile way.
"How do you feel about adoption day coming up in a few hours?" I questioned before seeing his annoyed face. "Wait, did I say something wrong?"
"No…. I just based on the other times I haven't been adopted yet I doubt it will happen yet. I don't know what it is, after everything I tried nothing seems to work." Fletcher began to say. "I was as nice as possible during the interviews and showed them all my best qualities."
"I would tone down the sarcasm, learn people's names, look people in the eye, and try to make myself seem as appealing as possible, and adopt other personality changes to make myself look appealing, but nothing has worked." Fletcher mentioned. "What's the point of trying, I much rather spend my time reading."
"Fletcher this isn't your fault, I have known you for years now and I know you will get adopted eventually. You don't give yourself enough credit." I reassured.
"Ever since I was born in the Philippines I didn't even get a chance to know my parents before I was sent to France by someone I don't even know to stay in this orphanage for 10 years of my life! Even though I got to meet other kids my age, it doesn't change the fact I may never see my parents again and I might never find a new family!" Fletcher shouted.
"Nothing I do for these people is good enough." Fletcher said, calming down.
"I know this does not seem fair to you because it's not fair that you are put in this bad situation but what I can say is not to lose hope." I remarked. "We have known each other for a long time, and we both know how…. unusual my home life is. But through all of this I was able to keep believing that somehow something will happen to make all this waiting worth it…."
"Oh come on Adrien, don't give me any of that bullshit" Fletcher interrupted.
"However, while being hopeful is good, taking action to get what you want isn't completely a bad thing. Just need to keep things in perspective and try to look at things from a different angle." I finished. After a few minutes of silence and deep thought, Fletcher eventually decided to speak.
"So what you are saying is that, maybe I should just try to act like the best version of myself?" Fletcher questioned.
"There you go, do this and maybe things will go well." I said happliy as Ms. Mazet appeared.
"Adoption interviews will happen soon, as much as we love having you here. The children really need to get ready to meet their potential families, especially this one one right here." Ms. Mazet added, looking at Fletcher. "Goodbye Adrien."
"Adrien, wait." Fletcher said as Adrien was leaving.
"Thanks"
Eventually 30 minutes later Adrien managed to find more photos for his project in the last hour and a half of his time before Chinese lessons and was on his way home
"I finally found enough photos for my project, now I can work on my collage. For once I can really find out who I want to be…" I thought to myself before getting a news alert on my phone.
"There's a monster attacking the city! And it looks like and Octopus that can transform into some kind of fluid blob yet it still maintains its shape and moves as normal. Nothing can touch this Octoblob in this state but it seems like it can't touch anything in this state either." I analyzed it as I saw the news broadcast.
"The last time a we saw a monster like this was back during Heroes Day, there was a feather that came out of Hawk Moth's cane. The Peacock Miraculous Holder must be using a feather to create these monsters probably using negative emotions just like the akumas." I continued analyzing.
"Wait a minute is that…." I thought concentrating on what was on top of the monster before my eyes widened in shock.
"No, it can't be…" I noticed internally, quickly piecing together what would must have happened.
Sure enough it was exactly what Adrien thought…..
A top hat.
"Oh no…."
A/N: So that was part one. If you have forgotten about this fanfic in the time I have not updated I do not blame you and honestly updates will be inconsistent for the foreseeable future. I hope I have kept Adrien in character. Please leave reviews after reading as they are much appreciated. Until next time.
