(Violet's Pov)
I had woken up from the nightmare and I looked around the room quickly only to see darkness. I got up from the bed and went to the bathroom to splash some water on my face and I take a breath. I looked around the room a bit and rubbed my face then decided to go to my office as Clementine still slept. I walk in and see a letter sitting on the table so I pick it up and read it to myself.
'Dear King of Macon, or Violet in this case, I am here to inform you that there is someone out there that knows your secret, so it would be best to keep your friends close but your enemies closer. From: S.' The letter read and I look around to room more and I take a seat as I try to figure things out. Who else knew my secret, Louis wasn't allowed to tell it, and as far as I know Minerva and I along with Lilly know but that would be all the people I knew that knew about my situation. I hear a knock on the door so I get up and see one of the servants at my door.
"I am sorry to disturb you my Lord but are you ok?" They asked and I nodded.
"Yes, I am fine… uh has anyone been in my studies by chance?" I asked.
"No, I haven't seen anyone in your studies." They say and I nod at this.
"Would you like some tea? Or something to eat?" They asked and I look to them.
"Uh some tea please and thank you." I tell them and they nod as they head to the kitchen and I go back to my chair. Hours had passed and I look out my window to see the sun coming up and I rubbed my face as I finished the rest of my tea. I looked at the letter over and over again trying to figure out who wrote it but no one with the letter S came to mind other than Sarah but this was not her handwriting. There was another knock on my door.
"Come in." I answer and I look up as the door opened to show Clementine as she came up to me and smiled and I smiled back at her.
"Morning." I say to her.
"Morning… are you ok?" She asked and I nod.
"Yes, it was just a bad dream… from when I was a knight… anyway are you ok?" I asked.
"I am fine." She tells me and takes a seat next to me.
"Want to stay with me today?" I asked.
"I would like for you to come out of your studies for a while… maybe take the day off so to speak?" she asked and I think and look to her.
"Is there something you wanted to do?" I asked her and she thinks a bit.
"Well… I was wondering about what we talked about?" She asked and I look to her.
"Maybe we could… adopt a child?" She asked and I sit up a bit more and look to her.
"Do you really want to?" I asked and she nods and I think a bit more.
"If you aren't ready yet that's ok Violet." She says and places her hand on top of mine and I look to our hands and then back to her. I would love for us to adopt a child together, and if it made Clem happy I would be happy too, but this was a big decision we were going to make together.
"I uh… yes we can… maybe two so they can play together." I say and she smiled and I smile back to her.
"Are you sure?" She asked and I nodded at this.
"Yes, I am sure." I tell her and she nods and I think.
"Hey Clem?" I asked as she looked over the new documents I had, thanking the lord she hasn't found the mystery letter I received.
"Yes?" She asked and I take a moment to think.
"That uh… drink I gave you a few weeks back… no symptoms, right?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"No, why?" She asked.
"Just wondering is all… no sickness or anything?" I asked her.
"No none at all… was that stuff bad? It tasted good." She tells me.
"No, it wasn't bad or anything I was just wondering is all." I tell her and she smiled and kissed my cheek and I chuckled.
"When do you want to go to the orphanage?" I asked her.
"This afternoon?" She asked.
"You know it can take a lot of paperwork till we can actually adopt a child or children." I explained to her and she nod.
"Yes, I know." She says and I look to her.
"Alright, we can go this afternoon, after lunch?" I asked and she nods and we just sit in my study for a while, I ask for her opinion on some things and I talk with her about it.
"Don't you think it's weird that the Delta needed help when they could have asked for it in the first place… you know instead of taking land?" Clem asked and I look at her a bit.
"Sometimes people don't think rationally in the beginning… I know I did when I first became the Grand Cross of your dads Knights, I heard about a village being attacked and instantly I just wanted to head out there and get all the enemies out… turned out someone else had the same idea and they all ended up dead, so we planned things out and won." I tell her and she looked to me.
"But you didn't try to take someone's home, or take women for yourself." She says and I nod.
"Yes, I understand what you are saying but a lot of people are different." I tell her.
"What about the monster… or Walker you called it." She asked and I look to the papers and I think.
"Nothing new from what I told you and the others." I sighed a bit as we both got up and I took her to the dinning hall where we ate our lunch and I thought more on the issue at hand.
"So, I heard that Duck and the others will be coming for a meeting, along with their parents… Gabe is coming too." She says and I look to her and I nod.
"That's fine, they might have more information for us on the New Frontier." I say and she nods. We finish up our food and then head to the orphanage where we see Omid and Christa and we both wave to them.
"Well back again you two." Omid says and I smile and nod and look to Clem.
"Actually, we were wondering if maybe we could adopt." Clem says to them and they look at us.
"Of course, you two can." Christa says as she and Clementine go to the building to talk a bit and I look around a bit.
"So, how is everything?" Omid asked and I look to him and shrugged a bit.
"It's going fine, just trying to figure some things out." I say to him.
"Well, you are the new king, you'll get use to it, trust me when Christa and I traveled all over these lands every kingdom was different, some were bad and some were ok." He tells me and I nod.
"Wait… you traveled a lot?" I asked and he nodded.
"Oh yea, I use to want to go to all the castles and read up on anything, hey did you know dead people could be brought back to life?" He asked and I look to him.
"I've done a bit of research on that stuff… bit strange how something like this could have even existed." I say to him.
"Oh, I have done a lot of reading on it, let's see if I remember, the ones in the past ate human flesh, or animals that were alive, or rotten like a scavenger, they walked with a limp sometimes mostly when they had broken legs, you could kill them by hitting them in the brain, it's crazy, I would love to look more into it but I wouldn't want to either, they were dangerous creatures back then." He tells me.
"From what I have seen with this new one, they can eat like normal and talk." I tell him.
"Oh right, the others just gargled and made noise but not words… well from what I had read." He tells me and I nod.
"They basically can blend in now, imagine how many people could be these things and we don't even know." I say and he nods.
"It's nice to talk about things like this people would think I'm crazy, though I do love history." He says and I chuckled.
"Yea, but it's fun when you find something new to learn, especially these days, what happened two hundred years ago isn't the same as it is now." I say and the kids run out the building and play in the field a bit.
"I heard about the new law you made with Carver, in all honesty I kind of have to agree with you on it." I hear him say.
"You do?" I asked.
"Yea, that man talks a lot of crap, pardon my words but at least the money is going to help the children here and the people we work with, I heard you talking to the town folk the other day how you were willing to give them a copy of the new law to look over and how you explained things to them, it might not seem much to most people but many kings or rulers in that matter they don't do that because they have something hidden in there to benefit them more than the people." He says and I sighed a bit.
"Yea but I don't want to rule like that… most of my life all I ever did was help people, Clementine does too, she wanted to donate money to all the orphanages in all the kingdoms but we wouldn't have enough to give a lot to each kingdom, so we start out small and hope that one day others would take that idea and run with it in their own kingdom." I explained and he nods.
"It would be nice if we were in a perfect world." He says and I nod then the little girl Mary from before comes running up to me and I smiled at her.
"Hello King of Macon." She says and I chuckled as I picked her up.
"Call me Violet, and how are you, Mary?" I asked.
"I'm well, and you?" She asked and I look to Omid who nods and heads to the other kids and I follow him.
"I'm doing fine." I tell her and we talk or a bit before Clem and Christa both came over to us Clementine had something in her hands and Mary ran off to play with the other kids and I go over to them.
"So have you figured out who you wanted to adopt?" Christa asked and I look to Mary and I nodded.
"Yea, what about you Clem?" I asked and she nodded as she showed me what she was holding and it was a baby.
"His parents passed away recently, and well… if it's ok with you?" She asked and I nodded.
"He got a name?" I asked and she nods.
"Alvin Junior, named after his father." She tells me and I nod and Christa gives us some papers and I saw that Clem signed them and I signed them as well and look to Mary. We stayed and played with the other kids for a while and I looked at Clementine as she held Alvin Junior. It was a beautiful sight to see in my opinion. I watched as Mary played with the other kids for a while and I decided to get up and play tag with them. I heard Clementine laughing at this, though I suppose it was funny due to the fact that I was chasing kids and then they chased me back. It was a bit humorous if I say so. I started to get a bit tired so I decided to head over to Clementine and looked to Alvin Junior who was half awake and half asleep.
"He's so small." I commented and she nods.
"Of course, he is a baby, he's only a few days old." She tells me and I nod at this as I look at him more.
"How did his parents?" I asked and she looked to me.
"According to Christa, someone killed them, though we don't know who… I want to find those people though." She says and I nod.
"I'll help try to find the people that took his parents… but I don't want you to deal with them." I tell her and she looked to me.
"But-."
"No… I don't want you to deal with that stuff." I tell her and she looked to me and nods. Christa then came over to us and I smiled at her.
"Would you like for me to call Mary over?" She asked and we both nodded as we got up from the ground and looked to the girl.
"Mary come here sweetie." Christa says and I watched as the girl came over and I look to her and smiled.
"Yes Christa?" She asked and Christa bent down to her level.
"Mary, Violet and Clementine here want to tell you something." She tells the little girl and Mary looked up to us and I smiled at her.
"Mary how would you like to come live with us?" I asked her and she looked to me then the other two and smiled.
"Really?" She asked and I nodded as did Clem and Christa.
"Yes really." I tell her and she hugs me then goes and hugs Clementine. Omid went and helped her get her things and I look to Clem and then down to Alvin Junior and he grabbed my fingers as I held them to him. I chuckled as he gripped them and then Mary came out and I grabbed her bag from Omid. We all then went to the horses as the other kids were saying bye to the two children and we all headed back to the castle. Once back home we got the children situated into their rooms Alvin Junior will be in our room till he is older since he's still an infant, and Mary will be in the room next to ours, which we had another door in our room to join the rooms and so we can get to her quicker. I went and grabbed a small crib for Alvin Junior and set it where Clementine wanted it and I smiled to her.
"We should introduce them to Lee." I tell Clem and she nods.
"We will when the others come by tonight." She tells me and I nod as I go to Mary to help her with her things. She sadly didn't have much but the toys she had and a few clothes. We will have to go shopping soon for them and I take a breath as she sits on the bed and I sit next to her.
"Like your room?" I asked and she nods and smiles at me.
"Good… well we will introduce you to Lee and the others when they come to visit us tonight ok?" I asked and she nods.
"Ok… thank you." She says and I look at her.
"Well, I should be saying thank you… you're part of our family now… and I really wanted a family with Clem." I tell her.
"But you could have a baby on your own right?" She asked and I chuckled a bit.
"It's complicated for us, I'll explain when you're just a bit older, but I'm glad you want to be in our family." I tell her and she hugs me. We then got everything ready and I helped Clem with Alvin Junior as I held him. We had introduced them to Lee and he was happy to meet them, then the others started to come to the castle as well. Sarah and Mariana were baby talking to Alvin Junior and Duck was talking to Mary. The other adults were talking to each other as well and I look at Alvin Junior as he talked back to the two women and I chuckled as he blew some spit bubbles and I cleaned his face a bit.
"So, what is the meeting for?" I asked them as we all took a seat in the library.
"We have a bit more information on New Frontier, we know David left the kingdom for Gabe but it seems that because he was so young when David disappeared, they needed someone to run it so Joan and Cliff took over for the mean time, but now the think they can take land and other things for people who don't comply with them or join them." Duck says and I nod at this.
"I still can't believe dad left a kingdom for me." Gabe says and I look at him.
"Yea well David thought ahead on some things." I muttered and looked to Mary who had her head in Clementine's lap.
"I have to wonder, why did you and Clem adopt?" Gabe says and we look to him.
"Gabe." Mariana said in a warning tone.
"I just want to know is all." He says.
"Because we wanted to, that's it." I tell him and he glares at me a bit.
"So, you couldn't have asked Duck or Me to help you have a baby naturally." He says.
"Gabe." Duck says a bit pissed.
"What it's just questions that's all, I think it would have been better if they had an actual kid with Clementine being the mother you know." He says and I glare at him.
"You just want to sleep with my wife and right now you best keep your mouth shut, I allowed you here in a form of kindness and I can have you escorted out." I warn him and he looked to me and shook his head.
"Anyway, Omid was telling me he knows some things on this Walker we have been looking into, I need to head to the library to look more into it but I can't find anything new so to speak." I tell them.
"I know you can't kill them like a human, only by destroying the brain, or burning them to ash." Sarah says and I look to her.
"Omid said the same thing." I tell her and she nods.
"Well, there is nothing else we can do but look into it more, it would be great if we could get the monster and run some tests on it." Duck says and I just nod a bit at this.
"What if we already have the monster?" I hear Gabe say and we all look at him.
"You have the monster?" I asked him and he looked to me.
"No… but it seems you have it already." He says and I look at him confused.
"Pardon?" Clem asked him and he looked to her then pointed to me.
"Have you ever thought as to how I was able to stab her and she didn't bleed?" He asked.
"I did bleed." I tell him.
"No, you didn't." he says and I looked to him.
"She did, I patched her up." Clem tells him and I look to him.
"Gabe what are you doing?" Mariana asked.
"Ok, how about we test this out here and nod." He says and grabbed his dagger and I look to him.
"In front of kids?" Sarah asked shocked.
"They can leave, I just need to prove a point." He says.
"I'm not going to let you cut me." I tell him.
"Then you're lying." He says.
"How can I be lying… you're calling Clem a liar too?" I asked him.
"She's not I know she isn't but I know you don't bleed, when I stabbed you." He says and I look at him.
"I know I bled; it was painful but unlike you I can keep my composure." I tell him.
"That's the thing, you showed no signs of pain either, anyone who gets stabbed would show something but you didn't." He says and I look to Clem and the others.
"Gabe you've gone mad." I tell him.
"I have not, you told me, I couldn't kill something that was already dead, why would you say that to me after I stab you?" He says and I look to Clem.
"Clementine maybe you should take the kids to bed?" I asked and she nods as she gets up and the girls follow her to the rooms and I just looked to Gabe.
"Gabe are you implying that Violet is the monster?" Duck asked.
"She is the god damn monster; I can prove it." He says.
"Ok how?" Duck asked and we both looked at him.
"If you cut her, she won't bleed, she fucking told me that I couldn't kill what was already dead, she died at the battle in Crawford and I know that because the Delta sent me a letter telling me so." He says just as Clementine and the others walked in.
"What is going on?" Clem asked and I looked to her then to Gabe.
"Your so-called fucking Knight is the god damn monster, but no one will let me fucking prove it." Gabe says and I shake my head.
"You have gone crazy Gabe, that's all I can say." I tell him.
"Then let me cut your damn hand." He says and I shake my head then I felt my heart beat in my chest a bit. Minerva was listening to this.
"Sure, just to clear this shit up." I say and held my hand out to him and he grabbed my hand and cut my hand which started to bleed as I flinched and I looked to him.
"See I fucking bleed you moron." I tell him and Clem comes up with a cloth and wraps my hand in it. It bleeds for a bit before I didn't feel my heart beat anymore and I knew Minerva took the heart back.
"… No, you've done something, I know you're the monster, how the fuck did you survive Crawford?" He asked.
"The nurse saved me." I tell him.
"No… no she didn't there is no god damn way, no way at all." He says and I look at him.
"Gabe you're talking crazy." Mariana says.
"I AM NOT CRAZY!" He yelled and pulls out a letter.
"The Delta told me that there was a monster in Macon, they didn't tell me who but I put the pieces together and it was so god damn simple it's right in front of us, Violet died and now she's a fucking Walking corpse." He tells them.
"Gabe she isn't dead, she's not a monster." Clementine tells him.
"Has she ever felt cold to you?" He asked.
"I-."
"Has she ever felt cold to you? Did she ever give you a jacket in the cold months?" He asked her.
"I mean yes but that was to be nice." She says to him and I look to them both.
"Does she barely sleep?" He asked her.
"She sleeps, the hell is wrong with you?" Clem asked and I looked to her.
"Those things don't need to sleep, they aren't human, she isn't human Clementine, you all have to believe me on this, I am not crazy I am not wrong on this." He says and I look to him a bit.
"Look we all need to calm down now." Duck says and I nod in agreement.
"NO!" Gabe yelled and we look to him.
"I know for a fucking fact that Violet here is the monster, the Walker or whatever it's called she couldn't survive on that battlefield, she was stabbed twice one in the shoulder the other time the chest, for fuck sake she is dead, she's not a living thing anymore and she is working for the Delta to take over the Macon Kingdom." He says and throws the letter to Clementine.
"To Gabe of the Richmond Kingdom I am here to inform you that Violet the new King of Macon is a walker and has been since the battle in Crawford, a witch has taken her heart and is working for the Delta in trying to take over the Kingdom of Macon by Marrying Clementine." Clem reads and I look to her as she looks up to me.
"You don't believe that do you?" I asked her. Then she looked to the letter again.
"She was told by a witch that she had to do this because that is what she has been wanting for years now." She reads.
"See, she's been lying to you Clementine." Gabe says and she looked to me.
"Is… no this can't be true." She says.
"Because it's not true, Clem I loved you for so long and you know this, listen to me when I tell you, I am not dead, I am not using you." I tell her.
"Just, stop this everyone." Sarah says.
"Where did you get the letter from Gabe?" Mariana asked.
"It was sent to me this morning." He tells her.
"And you just so happen believe this?" Duck asked.
"Because she fucking said I couldn't kill her when I stabbed her before." Gabe says and I look to him then to Clem as she didn't talk at all.
"The maids will show you all to your rooms we can talk more in the morning." She says and w all agreed to this, though Gabe was a bit hesitant and I rubbed my neck a bit as I followed Clementine. We finally get to the room and I look to her as she closed the doors and she looked to me.
"Says here you also Gave me something two weeks ago?" She says holding the letter.
"Something like?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"Something a witch uses to help Women want a child together." She says and I cleared my throat a bit at this.
"I uh… well." I tried to say something to her.
"Violet… did you?" she asked me and I rubbed my neck.
"Yes… I did… but sometimes the stuff doesn't work so I was kind of hoping it didn't… but then again I was hoping it did work." I tell her and she shakes her head.
"So, you couldn't just ask me?" She asked a bit mad and I shook my head.
"I got scared." I lied she still can't know the truth.
"Why? Why would you be scared to ask me on something like this?" She asked.
"I don't know, I really don't and I'm sorry I just… I'm getting so confused with everything, and then people complaining about you not being able to have a child with me and I don't know I got mad too at them." I tell her and she shakes her head.
"I… I get it Vi but… you still should have asked… how long till we know it worked?" She asked.
"… They say usually three to four weeks or so when you show symptoms of uh… you know." I tell her.
"Ok… so we have a week or just a few days to know." She says and I look to her.
"I… I'm sorry." I tell her and she nods.
"I will uh… you're still in trouble for this." She says and I nod.
"I can uh, sleep in the spare room or in my studies." I tell her.
"You don't have to." She says quietly and I look to her.
"I uh… would you like for me to stay?" I asked her serious on this question. She looked to me then to the crib a bit and nods.
"You and I have to take care of AJ… And you'll get first shift." She says and I chuckled a bit at this and I nod.
"Did Mary fall asleep?" I asked and she looked to the door and nods.
"Yea, she was pretty tired in the library… still can't believe Gabe said all that though, in front of the kids." She says and I look to her.
"I think he would have in all honesty… but let's not talk about this anymore." I tell her.
"I… I want the truth tomorrow Violet… if they were right about the… potions you gave me then… I don't know about the other stuff." She tells me and I look at her.
"Clem, I told you I love you, and I always have, I didn't do this for power I did this because I love you, I wanted to marry you for so long." I tell her and she nods.
"I know… I know." She says as she changed her clothes as did I and we both laid on the bed and I look at her and she looked to me.
"Clementine, I love you." I tell her.
"I love you too Violet." She says and I nod at this. I just looked up at the ceiling for a while as Clementine had fallen asleep, I looked to her and I moved the hair out of her face. I then hear the door to my side open and I saw Mary walking in so I get up and pick her up, place my finger to my lips and she nods as I take her out and we head to my study so we could talk a bit since she didn't want to go back to her room. A servant saw us and asked if we wanted something to eat or drink and I nod as I asked for a tea and some milk for Mary, along with some of those grapes that just came in. they leave and I let Mary in the study and she goes in as do I.
"You, ok?" I asked.
"I just had a bad dream." She tells me as she holds her stuffed doll closer to her and I think a bit.
"Do you want to talk about it? If not it's ok." I tell her and she looked to me then to her doll a bit.
"I don't want to." She says and I nod.
"It's ok, you don't have to tell me." I heard the knock on the door and I open it and grabbed the tray from the servant. They leave as I closed the door and I set the tray on the table and handed Mary her milk and the grapes as well. I grabbed my tea and looked to the girl as she drank her milk.
"I lied." She says and I look to her.
"What do you mean?" I asked and she just looked to her cup.
"Mary?" I asked.
"I thought I saw someone in my room and I got scared." She says and I look at her.
"Ah shadows playing tricks on you." I tell her.
"But they looked real." She says and I nod.
"I know, things like that happen… how about you sleep with Clementine and Me tonight, that way if the shadow comes back, we can take care of it." I tell her and she nods. I smiled at her as we finished up and she looked around my study a bit.
"You read a lot of books." She says and I nod.
"I love to read… I never had much of an imagination as a child well until I met Clementine." I tell her as she grabbed a book and I looked to it. It was an old book based on fairy tales and I look to her.
"I can read that to you tomorrow night if you'd like." I tell her and she nods as we head to mine and Clementine's room. I helped her on the bed and I looked to the crib a bit then to Clementine. Both of them were still asleep which was good and I got in bed just as Mary had closed her eyes and I looked to her door a bit. I don't think Mary would make up seeing someone in her room but it might have just been her imagination. Being in a new place can be scary sometimes. I finally closed my eyes and tried to sleep but I would wake up at odd times here and there. I would make sure Clem, Mary and AJ were asleep before I would go back to sleep, but again I would wake up at another odd time and repeat this process again, that is until I felt someone touch my shoulder just as I went to check on AJ and I turn to see Clementine looking at me.
"You, ok?" She asked in a whisper and I nodded as I looked to the crib a bit.
"I thought I heard him whimpering, I'm sorry." I lied to her and she looked to the crib as well then back to me.
"He's ok, you should sleep, I keep feeling you shift the bed, surprised you haven't woken Mary up." She says and I looked to the bed and I rubbed my neck a bit.
"Sorry must be hearing things." I tell her and she nods as I go and lay back down in the bed as does, she. I closed my eyes again to try and get some form of sleep. It wasn't till I heard some birds chirping that I finally woke up and I looked around to see Clementine getting up as well and Mary was still sleeping. I look to Clem as she checked on AJ who was talking up a storm now and I get up and look over her shoulder to see AJ looking up at us and he would smile.
"I'll be right back; he needs a bath." She says and I nod as she takes AJ to the bathroom and I look to Mary who was still sleeping I think about what she told me last night and I shake my head a bit before I hear something shift in the bed and I look to see Mary getting up. I smile at her and she smiled back to be just as Clementine came out with AJ who was wrapped up in a towel and talking a lot to her.
"Is that right?" Clem asked him and I chuckled at this and looked to Mary.
"Bath time." I tell her and she nods as she heads into the bathroom and I go and get the water ready for her.
"Mary, what did the person look like?" I asked her as I looked to her and she looked to me.
"I can't remember, I'm sorry." She tells me and I nod.
"But you and Clem scared them away, I didn't see them at all." She says and I nod at this.
"That's good… I'll go and get your clothes from the room, ok? Clem will be in our room so just call her when you get out ok?" I tell her and she nods as she goes to the tub and I go and head to my room and I look at Clem and I come up to her and whisper to her.
"I think Mary should stay in our room for a bit." I tell her.
"Is she ok?" Clem asked and I looked to her room.
"She said she saw someone in her room, and with everything happening right now, I think it would be best for her to stay in our room… until the others leave." I tell her.
"You think it's one of our friends?" She asked me and I look to her.
"I don't consider the person I'm thinking of as a friend of ours, especially after what they said in front of our children." I muttered a bit.
"You think Gabe was in there?" She asked.
"He did say some things yesterday that would make me think this stuff… just humor me on this until he's gone, if she still sees the shadow then I'll stay with her, ok?" I asked and Clem nods.
"I can see why you'd say that… alright just for now, and you and I still need to talk." She tells me and I nod at this.
"We will." I tell her as I head to the room and I look around a bit for any changes. I couldn't find anything that wasn't here before and I sighed as I grabbed some clothes for Mary and headed to the room. I look to see Clem talking to AJ and I smiled as she grabbed his feet and he would laugh and kick a bit at this.
"Aren't you just a happy boy?" She asked him and I smiled as I placed the clothes on the bed.
"He is." I say to her and she looked to me and nods. I then her the bathroom door open and I look to see Mary in a towel and I set the clothes out for her and she changes into them.
"We should go shopping for the kids." I say.
"We can, after breakfast… then we have to talk to the others." She tells me and I nod at this. We all got ready and went to the dinning hall to get some breakfast and saw the others and we all took a seat. Clem handed me AJ and I smiled at him as one of the servants gave me some milk for him and I fed him the milk.
"How did everyone sleep?" Sarah asked.
"I saw a shadow in my room." Mary says and they all look at her and I sighed a bit.
"A shadow?" Mariana asked.
"Yea… but Clem and Violet scared it away." She tells them and I look to them and nod at this then I look to AJ as he finished his food and I handed him to Clem to burp him. I looked to Gabe as he looked to me.
"What?" He asked.
"Nothing… just find it weird that my daughter would see a shadow in her room after everything you said yesterday." I tell him and he shakes his head.
"You think I would stalk her like a pervert?" He asked.
"No… I didn't say any of that… just find it, weird." I tell him and I eat my food.
"Ok no fighting, it's to early for this." Clem says and I look to her and I nod as I listen to her.
"She's the one making assumptions on me." He says but I don't say anything back to him and I look to the two women in the room.
"Clem and I were thinking about taking the kids to get some clothes, wanted to know if you two would like to come?" I asked them and they nod.
"Violet, we need to talk." Duck says and I nod at this and look to Clementine who also nods.
"Alright, I'll have Marlon and the other knights with you Clementine." I inform her and I hear her sigh a bit but nods at this. After everyone is finished I go over to Marlon.
"Hello King Violet." He says and bows.
"No need to bow, I have something to ask of you." I tell him and he nods.
"I need you and the others to watch Clementine, the kids, along with Sarah and Mariana, I also need you to watch out for Gabe." I inform him.
"Why him?" He asked.
"I just think he might try something but if you guys watch him than, he might not try anything." I tell him.
"He trying to hurt Clem?" He asked.
"I don't think so but I would like or you to keep a close eye on him, I don't want him near Clementine and the kids but I know damn well he's going to go with them… also if he tells her something I need you to inform me on what he tells her." I tell him and he nods.
"I'll have Mitch keep an eye on him mostly, you know him." He says and I nod.
"Thanks." I tell him and he nods and heads out to get more knights but I stopped him.
"If he lays a hand on Clementine or our kids, rough him up a bit." I tell him and he nods.
"We can do that." He says and I nod as I head over to Duck as Clem and him were talking. Mary comes up to me to give me a hug and I smiled at this and I hug her back then I go and hug Clementine and I wave a bit at Aj who mimicked me and I chuckled and I kissed Clementine's cheek.
"The knights are waiting for you all outside." I tell her and she nods then leaves and I look to Duck and I open my studies to him. We both walk in and I closed the door.
"I've read a few book on the Walker as we call it and I found something interesting." He says and I look to him.
"What did you find?" I asked.
"So, we know that a Witch can make these things, and sometimes when they do it's for a reason, once the Walker finishes it's purpose well… it hasn't ended in a good way." He tells me and I look to him.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Well one Walker was studied a few years back and what happened was that after the Walker finished it's purpose it… well it died again in the way they were originally killed." He says.
"So, if the person were to get stabbed in the heart, they would get stabbed in the heart again?" I asked.
"Funny how you say that, no the Walker that was studied was stabbed in the heart before they were turned, they just become human for a bit but they died from a massive heart attack, or something like that the Walker blead from it's mouth, when they opened it, well the heart look like it had exploded." He says and I looked to him and I think a bit.
"How many did they experiment on?" I asked.
"Well only two, one that had the heart explosion, the other went to be a normal human who aged and died of natural causes." He says.
"So, I'm guessing the Witch has control on what could happen to the Walker?" I asked and he nods.
"Yes, basically." He says an I think a bit.
"Have any of those Walkers have a kid?" I asked and he looked at his papers.
"Yea they did actually, the female Walker did." He says and I look to him as she showed me the paper and I read it over.
"She had a wife?" I asked.
"Yep, another Witch helped her give her wife a child, though they don't live here and they didn't reveal the child's name in the documents for their uh protection." He says and I look to him and I nod at this.
"Understandable… thanks for this." I say to him and he nods.
"About what Gabe had said yesterday." He starts and I look at him.
"Did you really say that to him?" He asked.
"Say what?" I asked him.
"That he couldn't kill what was already dead?" He asked me and I look to him.
"I mean he couldn't kill me if I already felt dead inside… war has fucked me up, and he wanted to keep talking about how he couldn't go and blah blah blah, it was just me saying I was dead inside so I didn't care." I tell him and he looked to me.
"Well, I agree Gabe hasn't been to war but neither have I for reasons." He says and I nod.
"Yea I know, but you don't walk around and act like you have been to war at least." I tell him and he nods a bit. I looked to the papers more as I think a bit.
"…. I know this sounds a bit messed up but… I still don't understand why Gabe thinks you're a walker… I mean without the whole statement you made." He says and I look to him.
"He just wants to start something, just because he can't have what I have." I tell Duck and he looked to me.
"You think he's doing it all out of Jealousy?" He asked and I shrugged.
"Probably, I mean I have seen the letters he wrote to Clementine… wasn't too fond of the things he wrote to her." I tell him.
"When did you read them?" He asked and I went to my desk and I pulled out the letters and set them on my desk.
"A week after we got crowned… Clem didn't want to hold any secrets from me when I asked for the letters, she gave them to me… and he kept writing things like this to her after we were crowned, and I've just been keeping the letters from her." I tell him and he looked to the letter then to me.
"Well that just proves he's a moron in all honesty." He says and I nod at this.
"Just proves he can't leave a married woman alone, and would love to as he states 'Kill Violet for your hand in marriage instead and free you from her evil grasps.'" I say to Duck and he looked to me and I show him the letter to prove I wasn't lying to him and he shakes his head and sighs.
"You have the composure of a saint to not kill him now after reading this." He says and I chuckled.
"Oh, trust me I want to, even now because I know damn well, he's with her and the others… though I did tell the Knights to rough him up a bit if he tries something." I tell him.
"I wouldn't allow him in my kingdom if he wrote that to my wife." He says and I chuckled.
"Clem doesn't know about these letters, so I can't really do anything on it… wouldn't want her to see me kill him for no good reason, but I will show these to here tonight if I have to, because you and I both know he will start something." I explained. We waited a bit before the girls came back and both Duck and I went to go great them and I see Gabe holding a cloth to his nose and I smirked a bit then look to Clem who looked to me and I stopped smirking.
"How was the shopping?" I asked and Mary showed me the new clothes she got as we walked inside and I look to Marlon who nods to me and I nod back.
"Gabe got a bloody nose." Mary tells me.
"Oh? How did that happen?" I asked her.
"Gabe grabbed Clementine and the Knights didn't like that." She tells me and I nods at this.
"Yea when I was a knight, we had to protect royalty, even by other royals when we feel like they are in danger." I tell her.
"You were a knight?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yep, I was a Grand Cross, like Marlon is now." I tell her as we take her stuff to the room.
"Yes, but Violet was a great Knight." I hear and look to Clementine and I smiled a bit at this.
"Why did you become a Knight?" Mary asked and I look to her as I thought a bit.
"Well… I had wanted to keep this Kingdom safe and… mostly keep Clementine here safe." I say and I look to Clementine.
"I wanted to keep other people safe too in other kingdoms but… sometimes that doesn't always happen." I tell her truthfully.
"Oh… I'm sorry." She says.
"Nothing for you to be sorry about… I made my knights try their best but sometimes it wasn't good enough." I tell her.
"My mom said that Knight's keep lots of people safe… what happened to those peoples Knights?" She asked and I rubbed my neck a bit.
"Well… uh." I tried to speak but Clem stopped me.
"I think we can have Violet tell you this stuff when you get older." Clem tell her and she nods and I look to Clem who looks to the door and I nod.
"We'll be right outside the door, call for us if you need anything." I tell Mary who nods and both Clementine and I head out the room. Clementine stops me as we get to the side of the door and I look to her.
"Explain why Marlon and Mitch decided it was ok to punch Gabe?" She asked.
"What got a crush on him?" I asked and she looked to me and I cleared my throat a bit and rubbed my mouth a bit then looked to her.
"Sorry… I didn't mean that… sorry." I tell her and she nods.
"I know… I'm sorry I just… I just want to know what is going on." She says and I sighed and nodded.
"Look… I told Marlon, to do that if Gabe touched you." I tell her.
"Vi-."
"No… let me finish please." I tell her and she looked to me and nods and I nod as well.
"I told Marlon to do that if Gabe touched you, I don't want him anywhere near you without me or the Knights, he's been writing to you." I say and pull the letters from my side pocket and showed her.
"Even after we were officially crowned Gabe has been writhing to you, and I have been keeping the letters from you because of the things he wrote, like how he was going to kill me so he could marry you instead, he made that comment about him supposedly helping you have a child, and how else would you have a child hu? You'd have to sleep with the bastard and I won't let that happen, he's a fucking menace he shouldn't be here I don't want him hear and I sure as hell don't want him near you if he's going to say stuff like this." I say and hold one of the letters out to read.
"'Dear Clementine, I know you are married to that peasant woman, though I don't know why you would want to marry that poor trash who has no clue on how to run a kingdom, who is only using you to gain power, who can't give you a child like I could, I will kill her one day and marry you, you and I are meant to be together, you have been getting my letters before you married that vile woman, I know you did it in secrecy too, I know you didn't want to marry her and she is forcing you to be with her.'" I read to her then grabbed another letter and read it as well.
"'Dear Clementine, or shall I say Queen of Macon, I am writing to you to tell you that I am in love with you, you know I have been for a long time, I have asked you to marry me before, I know you don't want to show you're feelings to me, maybe it is because of your father or that peasant girl you claim to love, you and I should run off and make a kingdom of our own, have children together, have a wonderful life, you know this to be true if you would marry me, leave the peasant and come be with me, I know you are in love with me, you might not have written this in fear that the peasant will find our letters but the option is always on the table for you.'" I read and look to her and pull out another letter but before I could read it, she stopped me and I look to her and she kisses me.
"Violet, I do not love him, I love you… you know this… this is the reason why I didn't want you to read those letters because I know you would have acted like this, not because I love him, I don't why do you think I agreed to marry you?" She asked and I look at her.
"Violet… why did I marry you?" She asked again and I look at her.
"Because you love me." I tell her and she nods.
"I do, and I always will, and I would never leave you for him." She says.
"I just… He thinks he's better than me." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Violet you and I both know he isn't… don't ever think I want to be with him, because I don't… I am married to you, I took your last name so you know that I am with you, that I want to be by your side for the rest of our lives… even if you were to pass on, I would never marry him or any other man or woman for that matter." She tells me and I look to her sadly.
"I love you Violet Aldon, you are my partner, you are my…" she tried to say something and I look at her.
"Husband?" I asked in a joking manner and she laughed a bit and nods.
"Sure, if you want that title." She tells me and I think a bit and I nod.
"Yea… I'm ok with that." I tell her and she nods.
"You are my partner, you are my husband, you and I are married not Gabe and I… I have no feelings for him I have always had my heart set on you…do you understand?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes… I understand." I tell her and she nods then kisses my cheek and we hear Mary's door open and we look to her as she looked to us and I looked back to Clementine.
"Why don't we get the kids some lunch I think AJ would like that." Clementine whispers to me and I nod as I go over to Mary and we head to the dinning hall and get the kids something eat. Once they were fed, I look to see Gabe as he shakes his head at me and I looked to him.
"Your knights are pretty violent." He says and I smirked a bit.
"War will do that… and toughing their Queen is a big no in our books." I tell him and he shakes his head. I feel Clementine place her hand on my leg and I look to her then to him.
"Bullshit." He says.
"No really, don't touch their Queen and this wouldn't have happened, you know that." I tell him and he looked to me pissed.
"Whatever." He says and I just smirk again and lean back a bit. Night fall was coming and we placed the children to bed after they ate dinner. Mary was in mine and Clem's room with AJ and then Clementine and I went to the library again where everyone was seated.
