(Violet's Pov)
I was looking at the map of all the kingdoms and I felt Marlon standing next to me. He was looking over the map and showing me where we could station some knights and I think a bit on the matter at hand.
"We should evacuate the people; we know he would attack here first… unless he has something else planned." I mutter the last part and think for a bit.
"We can evacuate them to each kingdom if they will allow it, though I don't think people are to keen on moving to a new area and for how long we don't know." Marlon states and I nod and we take a seat as we plan other things out.
"How did you find out about Gabe killing his uncle?" I asked him.
"When we saw the letters he sent before you got them, we had sent a spy there to keep an eye on him… especially after he threatened to kill you we just wanted to take precautions." He says and I nod.
"I'll trust your judgement on that, thank you for worrying… were they arguing?" I asked and looked to Marlon as he nods.
"Javier was telling Gabe that he was foolish just because Clementine loves someone else and that it was stupid of him to send a letter stating that he would kill you… Gabe got mad and told Javier that he has no clue on what he's talking about, then something along the lines of Gabe saying you're a Walker?" He asked and I looked to the map a bit as he says this.
"I think Louis should be here, we can send him out to Clementine later but I need to ask him something… and we may need to get the Delta involved." I tell him and he looked to me and I nod at this.
"Alright, I will get Louis and then I'll have a knight head to the Delta." He tells me and I nod.
"I need you to ask for Lilly to come here you can leave tonight unless I state otherwise, I have some questions for her… also warn her about Gabe he might try to get them on his side and we don't need that right now." I tell him and he nods then leaves and I look to the map and plan some things out. It took a while before I heard my door open and I look to see Lee and I look back to the map.
"So, we are asking the Delta for help now?" He asked and I look to him.
"It's either we get their help or Gabe gets them on his side, and we don't want that." I tell him and he sighs at this.
"This is becoming a mess." I hear him say and I get up from the chair and I look at him.
"What's becoming a mess?" I asked him and he hands me a letter and I read it.
'To the old King of Macon, we have gathered information that Violet is not who she claims to be, this is not a letter from Gabe if that is what you are worried about but a concerned citizen that is looking out or you and your daughter, by now you could have heard about her being a Walker, though this is to a point true, it was not because she wanted that life, it was forced onto her by a witch who was working with the Delta at the time, they had planned to kill you by using her but she has avoided that for a long time now, she has no intentions of killing you at all, but I do not know the full extent of the curse she has been given, I am writing you this to inform you that you and your daughter may be in danger if they decide to use Violet and force her hand. "Care to explain?" He says and I look to him then to the letter and I shake my head at this.
"You wouldn't understand anything I tell you at this point." I say and take a seat and look at the letter over and over again.
"I think you need to come clean Violet… was Gabe actually right about you being a Walker?" He demanded and I crumple the paper in my hand and throw I to the side. I didn't answer him at all, why should I?
"Violet, talk to me." He says.
"You read the letter, make your own opinion on it." I tell him.
"I need to hear you say it, Violet." He says and I get up and look to him.
"Yes… Yes, it's true… I am this fucking Walker." I tell him and he looked to me.
"So, he was telling the truth." He says and I look to Lee.
"Not in the way he thinks, he thinks I did it for power, no I married Clem because I love her, I didn't want to be this monster, I was forced to at the time and I have no clue as to why it was me, I wish I had died in Crawford I really do Lee I was supposed to die there… I'm just as confused to this situation as you are." I tell him and he looked to me.
"You were supposed to kill me?" He asked and I nodded.
"I have avoided it for a long time, that's why I was gone for the year so I can find out how to reverse this… magic or whatever this is, hell I tried killing myself but nothing worked, nothing at all." I tell him and he looked to me a bit.
"I… uh I don't know what to say." He tells me and I rubbed my face a bit. I take a breath and looked to him as I think.
"Look, I am not trying to kill you and right now we have to worry about not only Gabe but the New Frontier as well and he might try to get them to join in, and right now we just need to figure out what needs to happen." I tell him.
"I… I need to… why didn't you tell us?" He asked and I laughed at this.
"Oh right, tell my wife's father that I'm the living dead and was only brought back to life for-." I stopped as I felt pain in my chest and I gripped my shirt a bit.
"Violet?" He asked and I waved him off as I tried to stop the pain.
"I… need to… I'll be back." I say to him as I get up still gripping my shirt and I see Minerva as she looked to me and I grabbed her hand and the pain stopped.
"He knows already… he got a letter." I tell her and she looked to me.
"You could have lied." She says and I shake my head.
"At this point there is no reason, Gabe knows, Lee knows, Louis-."
"You told the poet?" she asked and I shake my head.
"I had to tell someone, but he hasn't told anyone I swear." I tell her.
"We need to fix this now." I tell her and she looked to me then to the side.
"I can't reverse this." I hear her say and my eyes went wide at this and I look to her.
"What do you mean?" I asked as I gripped her shirt.
"I can't reverse it… I did it once when Gabe wanted to cut you but it was a quick action and I didn't have time to properly do the spell." She says and I look to her and I dropped my hands to my sides and looked to the side as I thought on this.
"So, I'm stuck like this…. I'm stuck like this." I repeated as I lean on the wall.
"I'm sorry." She says and I think for a bit and looked to her.
"Look we can find a way to reverse this later, I might not be able to do it but we can find someone who can." She tells me and I nod at this.
"Fine but right now I guess I can deal with this now… but Lee needs to know everything, I won't tell him you were the Witch but he needs to know." I tell her and she sighs at this.
"Fine, you are already on good terms with the Delta, I don't think it would cause that many issues but Lilly is to not be harmed if she comes here." She tells me and I nod at this.
"That's fine I won't let anything happen to her but she is going to have to help us at some point with Gabe and the others that join him…. Hell, if she needs some land, I can give her the land I own on the farm." I tell her.
"I don't think she'll want that but we can discuss it later, I'll head to her I'm faster." She tells me and I nod as she leaves and I head back to the office and I look to Lee and I motion for him to sit and we both take a seat and I look to him.
"Alright… a few years back when I was in Crawford I was stabbed and on deaths door, I was saved by this nurse that also happened to be a Witch at the time and I stupidly told her I owed her, without knowing she was a Witch… she saved my life so I felt like I owed her… anyway once I got better, we still went on with our travels and then you sent me the letter telling us to come home because the Delta was nearing the kingdom… I was told I needed to kill you at a certain time but I was able to change it up a bit to the point where if I married Clementine then I just help the Delta with what they needed and we were all good… that's just the basics of the situation with me and why I am… what I am." I tell him.
"But you said you bled." He says and I nod.
"In order for that to happen I was given my heart back so I could have blood pumping, the thing is… is that because it was done to fast and my heart was taken afterwards, I'm… stuck like this." I tell him and he looked to me.
"So basically, you are immortal?" He asked and I shrugged.
"No clue, they haven't done much of a study on this so I don't know, and I doubt I am… look the thing is, you don't have to worry about me trying to take your life or hurt Clementine, since we have been helping the Delta things have been rearranged and changed up." I tell him.
"So, wait, if everything was fine why didn't they just reverse this?" He asked and I looked to the papers and shook my head.
"It's a bit complicated, I need to find the Witch that caused this and since it's hard to do that I just can't right now… plus I've been busy and I can't send the Knights on a literal Witch hunt." I tell him and he nods at this.
"I think I can understand what you mean… alright we will put this on the side… does Clementine know?" he asked and I shook my head.
"No, I honestly can't tell her about this… trust me she will know later on but she shouldn't be involved in this." I tell her.
"The fact that Gabe killed his uncle because he was actually right and you called him a liar doesn't make this any better, you should have told the truth to begin with." He says and I look to him.
"Gabe killed his uncle because Gabe is only trying to get into Clementine's bed Marlon informed me on this so no it wasn't because I didn't tell the truth and I don't have to tell Gabe anything, he never helped Macon, he's stabbed me in his uncle's kingdom in front of many people, he's cause nothing but problems." I tell Lee and I looked back to the map.
"He is just jealous that Clementine loves me and not him." I tell him and we get to working on any plans. I then heard a knock on the door and it's Minerva as she hands me a letter and I open it and read it.
"Well, it seems that luck is on our side, seems like Lilly has been informed of what Gabe has done and is willing to help us." I tell Lee and he nods and I look to Minerva who also nods and I set the letter to the side.
"Tell Marlon he doesn't have to go unless he thinks Lilly needs some extra knights." I tell her and she nods and then leaves the room. I was talking with Lee for a good while to the point the cooks came in and asked if we would like some dinner. We agreed but stayed in the room so we could plan some more things.
"I heard you were going to be in the battle." Lee says and I nod at this as I made a copy of the map, we made up for our battle plans.
"I have no choice." I tell him.
"You actually do… kings… well we don't have to be in the battles… we aren't meant to be in battles." He tells me and I nod.
"I know what you are saying Lee but I… I'm not like any other King, I was an orphan then I was a stable worker, then I became a knight, then I married Clem and became a king… I have two children we just adopted so I have a family." I say and lean back.
"Yes, you do have a family now… and Clementine wouldn't want to lose you… even though she doesn't know of your situation." He says to me.
"I made her cry and I hate seeing her cry." I admitted and he looked to me as I looked to him.
"I just didn't want her involved, she should never be involved in all this, I don't want her to worry about anything especially about me." I tell him.
"But that is what she does, as a wife she doesn't want you to leave her alone, you two haven't been married for to long but you have known her for a long time… you have a new family, you love her and she loves you back." He tells me and I nod as I listen to him.
"She is going to worry about you no matter what, even after she left, I know she worries about you right now… and she has two kids to watch out for." He says and I rubbed my face as I remember we were suppose to find out about Clementine and the potion in a few days or a week. I worried a bit on this but I kept it to myself, Lee doesn't need to know about any of this yet. The servant then came into the room and gave us something to eat and I look out the window to see that it was finally night time, we had literally spent the entire day in here and I think for a bit.
"I will have to send Clementine a letter at some point." I muttered and drank some of the water.
"We can deal with that later." Lee says and I nod as we head to bed for the night. I looked to the side of my bed and felt the empty side. I had gotten use to someone sleeping next to me that this felt so weird to me. But I had to sleep and make more plans in the morning.
-Two Weeks Later-
I was sitting in the war room with many people, I am tired from staying up for days on end trying to make the perfect plans. Gabe hasn't tried anything yet but we know that he was able to get the New Frontier on his side which makes this a bit bad for us but we have more people, though Carlos doesn't want to be involved and I don't blame him but we need as many people as we can get.
"Look you have to understand I need to keep my kingdom and daughter safe." Carlos says.
"You need to understand that the New Frontier doesn't give a damn and the fact that Gabe is involved proves they have no cares in the world, they will take your land, and your people and have you and your daughter hung." Lilly says and I looked to Sarah sadly as she heard this and I shake my head a bit.
"Look, we need as many people as we can get on our side, there is no point in arguing this and it's not like you and Sarah are going into the battle." Kenny says and I closed my eyes a bit and I take a breath. I opened my eyes and I look to everyone and I get up a bit.
"We all need to work together on this, it's best to have numbers yes but also we need strategies, so I have some plans-."
"Look you are the reason all this is happening, why should we help you?" Carlos says and I looked to him, I was so God damn tired at this point and I take a deep breath as I take a seat.
"None of this is my fault, none of it, Gabe is a god damn crazy bastard that murdered his own uncle just because he wanted to be with Clementine, he is literally acting like an idiot and we need to be prepared for whatever happens, and we all know they might head to all the kingdoms…. I have plans for what might happen, they could head to each kingdom and hit all of them at the same time, or they might hit Macon first and that might just be it… but because he has the New Frontier on his side and after what they had done to the Delta, they won't care and will try to get everyone." I explained.
"You lied to all of us and it caused him to go crazy, this is most defiantly your fault." Carlos says and I rubbed my face at this. They all were informed about my situation and I have been dealing with the backlash from everyone for the past two weeks now. Everyone started arguing and my head began to hurt at all of this so I slam my hand on the table and look to everyone.
"Look, I am tired as all hell, we all have to be at this point, but I will not sit here and be blamed for the actions of Gabe, because he decided to kill his family just because he couldn't get Clementine, he literally killed his uncle because he was crazy… I am not to blame for his actions." I tell Carlos.
"You should have told the truth-."
"How the hell do you tell someone that you're a corpse? Look what's done is done, and I will state that I have done nothing to provoke Gabe into doing anything, I have not harmed anyone, I have not killed anyone, I have done no bad to anyone so there was no need to bring it up." I say.
"If we had known." Carlos says and stops and I shake my head.
"And what good would that do you? Would you have removed your alliance to Macon?" I asked.
"I wouldn't have let my daughter near you." He says pissed
"Your daughter can make her own choices in her life, she's not a tot, and I'm done arguing about this, I am just trying to keep people safe." I tell him and everyone was quiet at this point.
"Look, the New Frontier is a violet group of people and we know this first hand, as does the Macon Knights since they helped us in battle a few times, the New Frontier will kill anyone and frame others for it, that's what happened to Gabe's father." Lilly says and I look to her and I sit up a bit.
"This is new to me." I say and she looked to us.
"They framed David because David wanted people to follow the rules when it comes to obtaining land legally, Joan didn't like that and she is the main person we have to look out for… she's a psychopath at this point." Lilly says and I nod at this.
"I say we get the Prescott Kingdom involved; they have been making these catapults we could use." Kenny says and I look to him.
"No, don't get them involved we can ask for some catapults but they cannot be involved with this." I say to him.
"Why not do you know someone there?" He asked and I think for a bit on this and I shake my head.
"No, they are just a smaller kingdom and I want to make sure they have their defenses up as well, I had sent a knight out there to warn them and to arm themselves from any danger." I tell them and they nod.
"Alright seems fair they aren't that big and we don't want them to lose any land or people." Duck says.
"You are going soft; we need as much as we can get." Kenny says and I rubbed my face at this.
"We can still get weapons from they, they are known for their weaponry, but they don't have much to give when it comes to having many Knights." I inform them and we hear some groans and I shake my head at this.
"I am just making sure they can make us some weapons that is all, they are still helping us with their weapons, and we should be grateful." I tell them.
"If they don't have to be involved then neither does my kingdom." Carlos says and I groaned. This is just a massive back and forth between what is right and wrong to do and I rubbed my face some more as I get up from the chair.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" I yelled and looked to everyone.
"Carlos you are an idiot of a man right now after we have explained many things to you, stop trying to avoid this bullshit, if you are worried for your daughter's safety you would have sent her to a safe house like I did with my family, I haven't seen my wife and kids for two weeks now just so they can stay safe, so don't give us that bullshit… I am tired I am stressing out this is far worse than when I was a knight because when we discussed plans like this, we had fucking order and we listened to others but you aren't helping at all." I say to him and he looked to me.
"Listen and shut the fuck up before you open your mouth." I say to him and he kept his mouth shut.
"We will be getting weapons from Prescott kingdom, they cannot be involved due to how small of a kingdom they are, we will have some of our knights stationed at our kingdoms looking for any signs of danger, make sure when any new commers try to enter your kingdoms that they have proper documents, we all know what they look like… if there are any attacks, we will be ready, we will ask each other for help and we will all work together is that clear?" I asked and everyone nods at this and I nod as well.
"For now, let's all get settled down for the night and we will talk more tomorrow, each royal will have two knights by their rooms and we have knights walking the grounds to ensure your safety, if any knight leaves their post, please inform me about it and I will figure something out." I explained to them and we all agreed to it. After this we all went into our respective rooms and I went to my desk and saw the letter on my desk and I read it. I have read it multiple times since I had received it this morning.
'Dear Violet, I hope things are going well, AJ and Mary have been a bit fussy lately, well mostly AJ I think he knows something is wrong, Mary is asking lots of questions on you questions on why you became a knight, even though we had explained it before, what is your favorite flower, she had seen a flower field and was wondering. There is also something else you should know, I think that potin you gave me worked, I have been a bit sick in the morning though that could be anything, so I just wanted you to know it is a possibility. If it worked then please be safe and don't get hurt, now that you know of this, I know you will be careful, or at least I hope you will be. Write to me soon on any possible names you want, we have no idea how long this will last, and I am sorry if I have your hopes up to high but I just wanted you to know on what could be going on. From: Your Wife, Clementine.' I read the letter over and over again and I take the time to look at the paper and ink on my desk and I grabbed it and began to write a letter for Clementine.
'Dear Clementine, things are going a bit weird these past few weeks, I'm sorry that the children are being fussy, I would say for you to read them a story but I think you make your own stories up which is better in my opinion. Yes, I remember we told her, also tell her my favorite flower is a rose, though the color changes from time to time. Do not worry about getting my hopes up on the potion working or not, our emotions are a bit strained on if it worked or not, we will talk about it soon when I bring you back home. It's taking a while for us to plan things out, Carlos is making things complicated for us but I think we fixed the issue, I do hope this doesn't take too long I miss you and the kids, I can't sleep at night because you three aren't here, I have gotten use to sleeping next to you, there hasn't been a shadow with you and the kids, correct? I have been seeing it from time to time and I hope it hasn't been following you. I want to tell you something Clementine, I have kept it a secret for so long and I don't want you to hate me but you have to understand why I wouldn't talk about any of it, I have been the Walker we all have been talking about, your father knows, and now everyone else does, don't be mad that I didn't tell you first I didn't want you to worry about any of it. I am so sorry Clementine, please forgive me. From: Violet.' I wrote the letter out and I folded it up and placed it in an envelope and put a was seal on it. I sighed as I looked to the letter and I felt sad and scared about all of this. I guess the stress of everything is finally getting to me. I hear a knock on the door and I go and open it to see Lilly and Minerva and I let them in.
"I see a letter on your desk… any news?" Minerva asked and I leaned on the desk a bit and looked to the letter and then to Minerva.
"Clementine… might be with child." I tell her.
"Have you told Lee?" Lilly asked and I shook my head.
"I just found out this morning… and right now isn't the best thing time to tell him… Lilly I never got to ask you but do you know someone that goes by the Name S when signing letters?" I asked and she looked to Minerva then to me.
"That might be Sophie." Minerva says and I look to her.
"Who is that?" I asked.
"Minerva's twin sister, though… she died a long time ago." Lilly says and I look to Minerva who was looking at the ground and holding herself and I look back to Lilly.
"How did she die?" I asked.
"A spell went wrong and it ended up burning her… alive… why?" Minerva asked me.
"We have been getting letters from someone named S and I was wondering… I need you to look into this for me please, if someone is posing as her, I think it should be brought up in the meetings." I tell them.
"We can look into it." Lilly says and I nod.
"You sending a letter out?" Minerva asked and I looked to the letter and I shake my head.
"No, I just write to blow off steam… I'll give them to Clementine soon but only after this is all over." I tell her and she nods.
"Alright, we will leave you be." Lilly says and they both leave and I was left alone in my room with just my thoughts. I looked back to the letter and I go and place it in the secret compartment in my desk. I looked at all the other letters that Clementine had sent me and I picked up one that she sent me when I was at basic with the other knights and I chuckled at it.
'Dear Violet, I hope you are doing well, I know you can't write a lot or receive letters on time but I want you to know I am still thinking about you. Also, the last letter you sent me is locked away in a secret place, I don't think I blushed that much in my entire life, even my own father thought I had a fever, I shall read your letters in private from now on. I hope you are safe, and I will be seeing you soon. Love, Clementine.' I read the note and smiled at it and placed it back in the compartment. I couldn't read any more it would make me want to just run out the castle to go see Clementine. I sat on the bed a bit and I take a breath as I tried to plan anything else out, I had to keep making plans because no one else would really help me on this matter. Duck tried but he has been avoiding me for a bit since he found out that I was the Walker, though I do know he wants to ask questions on it but maybe he read something about the Walkers that he hasn't told me. Sarah still talked to me along with Mariana but they kept their distance here and there, I don't blame them at all for any of this, they have emotions and their perspective of me has changed and I can't fault them for that. I lied to them but I still tried to help them in order to help myself.
I know they had changed once they found out the truth but at least they were kind enough to hear me out on it, though I couldn't explain all of it I explained enough to them so they could get a better understanding of what is going on with me and others. Of course, I had to tell the others about this situation after I told their kids because Lee said it would be the right thing to do. Though some like to place blame on me, one of them being Carlos but the thing is, I am not responsible for Gabe's actions, he has dug his own grave and it's not my fault.
"It is my fault." I muttered.
"No, it's not, I am not Gabe I have no control over him he made his own choices." I argued with myself and I stand up.
"But if you told the truth than none of this would have happened." I say.
"He killed his uncle because of his feelings for Clementine, none of it was your fault he can't handle rejection and he's acting like a child because of it." I say and shake my head and hold my head a bit. I looked to the bed and I shake my head as I go and blow out some of the candles and I think for a bit as I go and change my clothes and I head into the bed and lay down and I try to sleep, I was so tired but no one care, no one cares that I try anything.
