(Violet's Pov)
We were sitting down for dinner and I look to Louis as he and Marlon along with Mitch talk to each other. I look to Mary as she looked to the paper to see what she wanted and I look at it too, I then looked to Clementine as she held AJ and I smiled as I held my hands out for him and she smiled as she handed him to me. I looked down to the boy and smiled at him as he woke up and I gave him my hand as he grabbed it and I chuckled at this. Omar then came over and I smiled to him as he nods to us.
"Hello, King and Queen of Macon, Knights of Macon, and Poet of Macon." Omar says.
"Hey, just call us by our name, you're basically family now Omar." I say and everyone else nods in agreement and he smiled at this.
"Thank you, Violet, how may we help you all tonight?" He asked.
"Can I get some meat soup?" Louis asked and Omar nods. We all give him our orders and he heads in the back to go make the food. AJ began to get a bit fussy so Clem handed me the bottle for him and I fed him as we all talked.
"So is AJ there going to call you mom or dad?" Louis asked and I look to him.
"I don't mind either but Dad is ok." I chuckled as I looked to the boy and smiled.
"Ain't that right AJ?" I asked and he smiled a bit but continued to eat and I chuckled at this. We were then given our food and I made sure Clementine and Mary at first and I took a drink of my water.
"So, Carver is talking up a storm in his cell." Mitch says and I look to him.
"What, saying he's innocent?" I asked.
"Hm, pretty much but he keeps saying that you only have him locked up because you don't believe in god and blah." Mitch says as he sets his drink down and Clementine held her hands out for AJ so I passed him over and I ate my food.
"Is Carver a bad man?" Mary asked and I look to her.
"Hmm, yes he's locked up though." I tell her and she nods as she eats her food too. After a while we all decided to head home and I went and put the kids to bed and I look to Clementine as she looked to me.
"Going to bed?" She asked and I think.
"I need to take care of something real quick, then I'll head to bed with you and the kids." I tell her and she nods as I head out and I see Minerva waiting in the hall and I look to her as she looked back to me.
"Need to ask me something?" She asked and I nodded. We headed into my study and I sat on the side of my desk and I look to her as she looked back to me.
"I need to see my future." I tell her and she looked to me.
"You already saw it." She tells me.
"I need to see my future for when I fight Gabe." I tell her.
"You think you will die?" She asked and I looked to the floor.
"It's not that I fear I will die… My future had to have changed I mean what you showed me wasn't what had happened." I tell her and she nods.
"That is true, your future has changed, you didn't have Mary and AJ in your old future." She says and I look to her.
"Alright… I will show you." She says and she grabbed some water and a bowl and I looked into it as she showed me the future I was going to have.
"Gabe, we shall duel here today so others do not die." I say to him.
"You're a fucking piece of work, you don't care who lives or who dies." He tells me.
"I care for people, I care for my Knights, my people, my family." I tell him.
"Family, yea right, anyway what are we doing here again?" He asked and I gripped my sword which was covered in its sheath.
"As I have stated we will have a duel, if I win, you can't hurt anyone else, if you win… War will continue until you die and the New Frontier will be destroyed." I tell him.
"Hm, doesn't seem like a good deal." He says and I look to him as he smirked.
"How about this, you die and I get Clementine's hand in marriage." He says.
"No, I'm sorry but she doesn't want to be with you, and we both know that we would want her to be happy, she wouldn't be happy with you." I tell him.
"You are a liar Violet, you know she would be happy with me, her and I can have a family, hell I'll even raise the two brats you two adopted." He tells me and I sighed a bit at this.
"That isn't going to happen Gabe." I tell him and he glared at me.
"You either make the deal or not Violet." He says and I look to him more then to the others and I look back to him and I nod at this.
"Fine… then I will make sure I won't lose." I tell him as the others left and we both drew our swords. Then the image went black and I look to Minerva.
"Where is the rest?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"I don't know… hold on." She says and she keeps playing the same images over and over again and I look to her then to the bowl.
"This… this… not good." She says and I look to her.
"What?" I asked as she looked to me.
"I can't tell you what will happen because your future isn't there." She says and I look to her.
"How, we didn't even fight yet… how do I die?" I asked her.
"I don't know Violet… I just don't know." She says and I think.
"He had to… he had someone get me from behind, fucking prick." I muttered as I grabbed a book and wrote down all of this and I look to her.
"I have to change things around; I have to change the future you've shown me." I tell her and she nods as we sit at the table and look to the bowl again and replay everything to the point where I turned around but saw no one but then it went black again. I wrote that down and she replayed the images and I looked behind me then forward then the image went black again and I groan and write it down.
"Fucking god damn it." I muttered and made her play it again. No one was there only Gabe and I.
"Someone has to be there." I muttered as I wrote things down and looked to the bowl again as she played the images and I saw something I thought I would never see. Clementine was there this time as she held a bloody dagger, the same dagger I bought her. I looked to Minerva as she looked to me. She looked just as confused and I shake my head.
"No… no this has to be false… she wouldn't… she wouldn't kill me… would she?" I asked Minerva who looked to me.
"Wait." She says and we looked back to the image. It showed my face this time it was bloody I had cuts all over my face but I saw something on the ground and it was Gabe. He was screaming as he held where his arm once was and I moved the bowl away and look to Minerva.
"What… did I just see?" I asked just to make sure I wasn't the only one to see it.
"Your face was cut to hell, Clementine had a dagger, and Gabe was screaming with a missing arm." She tells me and I look to her and I nodded.
"Yea… ok I wasn't alone." I muttered at this and I shake my head.
"You aren't going to write this down?" She asked and I look to her.
"No… no I can't write that." I say and think.
"Why do you think she was there?" I asked Minerva as I looked to her.
"I don't know… but I can try to look into it for you… sadly you will have to reveal to Clementine that I am a witch…. Unless." She says and I think as well.
"Unless we say you are your twin sister?" I asked and she nods and I nod at this.
"Ok… ok we will do that, we will say you are Sophie, that you aren't dead, you just went missing and we thought you were." I muttered as I think and I look to my desk a bit and then to Minerva.
"I will do that; I'll come in tomorrow and say that I am Sophie." She tells me and I nod as she leaves the room and I then headed to my room. I see Clementine still up in bed and I go change my clothes and I head over to the bed and got in it. I leaned close to her and kissed her cheek and she looked to me.
"You, ok?" She asked and I nodded.
"I uh… asked Minerva to bring someone here to talk to us… please don't be mad but… she's a witch." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Minerva is bringing a witch here?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes… please don't be mad but I just… I want to see if I will live the duel if I am to use that plan as a last resort." I tell her and she looked to me then to her lap as she takes a breath and sighs.
"Alright… alright but that's it." She says and I nod a bit at this. We then ended up falling asleep and I had those dream again. I looked in the darkness and saw Sophie as she was looking in a book as she sat on the ground.
"Having my sister fake being me hu?" She asked and I nodded.
"I don't want her to get hurt, she's helped a lot." I say to her.
"But she has hurt you as well." She tells me and I look to her as she looked back to me and set her book down and I nodded.
"If she hadn't turned me into this then I would be dead… Clementine would be sad… I would have never met AJ and Mary." I tell her.
"Hm, that may be true but are you sure?" She asked and I looked to her confused.
"Am I sure about what?" I asked.
"Let's say you would have lived with the wounds you sustained; do you think all of this would have happened?" She asked and I look at her.
"I don't think this war between Gabe and I would have happened." I tell her.
"Though he is obsessed with Clementine… that's all he says is that he should marry Clementine… right?" She asked and I nodded at this.
"I uh… yes he does." I tell her and she got up from her spot and came up to me.
"He would have done this even if you weren't a walker Violet, he wants Clementine because of jealousy, the whole you being a walker and lying about it was just more fuel to the fire." She tells me and I look down at her and I took a breath.
"Look, Gabe has been this way for a long time, he's just… I don't know, but he didn't have to kill his uncle, just because he is jealous that Clementine isn't married to him… hell people will talk if he killed me and they found out the reason as to why, they would riot for that, if he is willing to kill someone out of jealousy people will think he'd kill them for simple things like… I don't know… eating berries before Tuesday." I ranted and looked to her.
"Be that as it may but other issues might occur." She says.
"What?" I asked.
"Think about it… duels happen all the time for someone's hand in marriage… maybe you should let Clementine attend the duel." She tells me and I shake my head no.
"No, not after what I just saw." I tell her.
"Right… your future." She says and I sighed a bit and looked to the darkness.
"Why is it always dark when we meet?" I asked her as I looked around a bit.
"Hm, maybe it's based on what you think death is like." She tells me and she walked next to me.
"What... so I'm just making this up?" I asked and she got in front of me.
"No this is real; it's just your mind isn't making anything appear to you because you can't think of something else." She tells me.
"If that's true than you wouldn't be here in all honesty." I say to her and she laughed a bit at this.
"No, that's not how it works… your mind right now can't think of anything but darkness… have you had dark thoughts?" She asked me and I nodded at this.
"I have." I muttered.
"What have you been thinking?" She asked and I look to her then to the ground and I shake my head.
"Just wanting to die, or I want to I don't know anymore." I tell her.
"Maybe that's why you only see darkness, you think this is what death is like." She says.
"No, I have seen death… I just wish it was like this." I say to her and I sighed a bit.
"Right, Walker and all so don't you think this might be, because you don't want to imagine something else, cause you're afraid it will change? Like all dreams do I mean." She tells me and I look to her.
"I'm not afraid of change, I know it will happen no matter what, as I grow older things change, as my kids grow older things will change for them as well, and their kids and so on… nothing is the same, times change… times change." I muttered the last part and look to Sophie.
"People change, times change, may things change… it's life." She tells me and I keep walking with Sophie as things start to change and it's light now, though we were in a pond area and I look to the water as I hear children laughing and I turn to see Clementine and I as children.
"What's this?" Sophie asked as I watched as Clementine and I were talking.
"A memory." I simply say as we walk up to my younger self.
"Violet, don't you think the orphan lady will get mad at us for leaving?" Clem asked and my younger self laughed. Clem always called our supposed parental figure the orphan lady as if she herself was an orphan.
"She's our caretaker Clem, not an orphan lady." I tell her.
"Whatever, anyway why are we here?" She asked and I myself laughed at this.
"Because it's nice out and we don't get to go to the park much… don't you think it's nice?" I asked her and she nods then the images change and we are teenagers now and we are walking down the path near the waters and I go up to us. Sophie also followed me.
"Clem, what do you like in a partner?" My teenage self-asked her.
"What do you mean? In a romantic way?" Clementine asked me and I nodded with myself. I smiled at this memory; it was a simple one but it was one I loved.
"Yea in a romantic way… what kind of guy are you into?" I asked her and she stopped and then looked to my teenager self.
"I… am not interested in a guy… but if I were to say what I like in a partner… they would have to be sweet… strong… smart of course, even in their own way… you know I have known this person for a long time that I think fit these qualities." She tells my younger self.
"What is this?" Sophie asked and I just smiled as I watched then looked to Sophie.
"This is the day Clementine told me she had feelings for me… before I was a knight… before I was her stable girl." I tell Sophie. We then watched as Clementine gave me a kiss on the cheek and she whispered in my ear that I was her ideal partner. The time shifted to when Clem came up to me as I was about to leave for my training, then when I came back to the kingdom and I was walking with Clementine in my uniform. We were in the rose garden she had and I walked with my younger self.
"Clementine, I have been given a letter saying we have to go." My younger self said and I watch as Clementine was crying telling me not to go. I knew this would happen again as I was getting my horse in the stable. Time shifted again to when I stabbed and, in the tent, trying to live. I watched as I died and I saw Minerva came in the tent and moved the cloth from my face and she brought me back to life. Then everything went black and I closed my eyes a bit.
"I was so happy with her." I say to myself.
"Are you saying you aren't happy anymore?" Sophie asked and I look to her.
"Oh, I am… I am truly happy that I am with the love of my life… my best friend, my wife…. Everything changed when I became a knight, I don't regret it, don't get me wrong I will never regret that, never regret it… I'll regret many things I know but that… no… I got to keep Clementine safe… I'm still trying to keep her safe." I say to Sophie.
"Well, I think it's time for you to wake up." Sophie says and I nod as I opened my eyes and I look to see Mary snuggling close to Clementine. I look up to see Clementine awake and she placed a finger to her lip telling me to be quiet. I nodded as I looked to Mary then back to Clementine who whispered to me.
"Want some tea?" she asked and I nodded and we both got up slowly and went to go and get some tea.
"You moved a lot in your sleep." She tells me and I look to her.
"I did?" I asked and she nods as we drink the tea.
"I'm sorry if that kept you up." I tell her.
"No… no didn't keep me up at all… you did say my name though, so I'm curios as to what you were dreaming about." She says to me and I look to her and I smiled a bit.
"When we were younger…my favorite being when we were teens." I tell her and she smiled.
"When we were at the park and I told you… that you were my ideal partner." She says to me and I smiled and I nodded.
"Yes… yes that one… that's one of my many favorite memories of you and I." I tell her and she looked to me and I smiled then looked down.
"Remember when we were little and you and I would sneak into each other's rooms… don't know why they kept us apart." She says and I smiled at this.
"Because we would keep each other up so late with scary stories." I chuckled and took a drink of my tea.
"You told the scary stories, I told stories about knights and princesses." She says and I nod then look to her.
"I always liked your stories." I tell her.
"I liked your stories too… we were so creative when we were younger." She says and I nod a bit at this then looked to the cup of tea.
"Yea… yea we were." I say and drink the rest of my tea.
"Violet… how have you been?" She asked me and I look to her as I set the cup down and I think a bit.
"Currently I am content… I am a bit happy." I tell her the truth.
"A bit?" She asked and I nod at this.
"Yea, it's just stress from all this stuff happening, but regardless being with you and the kids made me happy… we have to do it more often." I say and she nods.
"We can do it again in a few days." She tells me and I nod at this.
"Alright… we can take the kids-." I stopped as I heard some yelling and so did Clementine as we leave the room and look to see Lee, Lilly and Kenny.
"Are you nuts?" Kenny yelled at Lilly and I make sure Clem and I were well hidden.
"Look, you don't have any better options, we just have to ask her." Lilly says and I listen in more a bit confused.
"And if she goes into a frenzy?" Lee asked.
"We just have to talk to her on it." Lilly says and I look to Clementine.
"Look, she's a Walker, we can use this I know, it sounds crazy but… we could… have her go after Gabe and… eat him?" Kenny asked the others and I pulled Clementine to the side and I glared at the floor a bit and I shake my head then looked to Clementine.
"Did they just… say that?" She asked herself and I nodded at this.
"Yea… they did." I muttered and we headed to the room and the kids were ok. we both decided that we would talk about this later. We laid back down in the bed and got as much sleep as we could before we were woken up by Mary who was getting up in the bed and I smiled a bit as I pulled her down and she giggled a bit and Clementine got up and tickled Mary. After a while we all settled down and we heard AJ whimpering so I got up and picked him up and smiled at him then to Clementine.
"I think we should have another family day in the garden don't you think so too?" I asked AJ and he talked his baby talk and I looked to Mary.
"Can we?" She asked and both Clem and I nodded. So we all got ready and we grabbed some fruit and bread, along with some tea for Clementine and I and juice for the kids. We headed out to the garden and we set the food on the table under the makeshift roof. We sat a blanket out for AJ as we let him lay on his stomach and Mary went to look at the flowers as Clementine and I drank our tea. We then heard some noise and turn to see Lee and the others along with Marlon and Louis and I stood up as I looked to them.
"Uh… can we talk?" Kenny asked.
"Sure, have a seat." I say and motion for them to sit.
"I think it would be best if we talked in doors." Lee says and I look to him.
"I think we can talk out here, I want to spend some time with my family." I tell them.
"Uh… I don't think Mary and Clem should hear this, Violet, trust me." Louis says.
"Does this have any regards to me being a Walker?" I asked and they looked to each other then to me and nod.
"Then speak here." I tell them.
"I uh… ehem, well." Kenny tried to say and I look to him.
"You want me to attack Gabe and eat him." I tell them.
"How-?"
"Clementine and I over heard you three talking about it a few hours back, and I will have to decline on that, I don't want to eat human flesh, I will fight the fair way… also We are having a Witch come in today to talk to me, I don't want to be interrupted." I tell them then take a seat and I look to Clementine. They all leave the garden and I look to Mary who looked back to me.
"Violet." Clementine says and I look to her then back to Mary who went back to looking at the flowers and I sighed.
"She was going to hear about it anyway, might as well not let her know about me being a monster than her parent that died." I tell Clementine and she nods a bit to this.
"Ok… I understand but… we should explain it to her one day." Clementine says and I nod at this and we continue our day. Hours pass and then Minerva comes by and boys to us.
"Hello, Minerva." Clem says.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I m Sophie, I'm Minerva's twin sister." She says and I nod at this as she hands me the letter.
"My sister says that you needed to talk to me." She tells us and I stand up and I nod.
"Yes, thank you for coming on such short notice, come, we can let the servants take the kids." Clementine says as the knights on guard and the servants come as well. Clem and I follow Minerva to my study and we all take a seat at the table.
"I was told you wanted to see your future." She says and I nod as she brings out a bowl with some water and I look into it and see the image with Clementine holding a bloody dagger and Gabe screaming in pain and I sighed a bit.
"What just happened?" Clementine asked and I look to her.
"That's what I want to know… do you fear that Violet might actually try to eat Gabe? I was given a message about the issue with her being a Walker so don't worry I won' tell." Minerva says and Clem looked to her.
"I… I don't know, now I do have that fear but that's because of what I've been told." Clementine says and Minerva looked to me and I sighed a bit.
"She knows I have eaten someone before but it was a mistake." I explained.
"Ah… Clementine are you afraid of Violet being a Walker?" She asked and I looked to Clem a bit.
"No, I mean… it's hard to explain." She tells us and I look t her.
"Could you try?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"I… am afraid sometimes but I know you would never hurt any of us here, you have shown that time and time again but… I sometimes fear you might… one day hurt us." She says and I nod at this.
"Understandable, don't think I'm offended by this Clementine." I tell her truthfully.
"It's good that you say that, Clementine." Minerva says to her and she looked to Minerva and then back to me. She looked a bit down giving me that information but she shouldn't feel bad about this at all.
"Why did the future change?" Clementine asked and Minerva shows us the bowl but the same thing played and I sigh a bit.
"No, but it might later on, once we figure out what is going to happen that is." Minerva tells her and she nods at this.
"Also, I was informed about Violet giving you a certain potion?" She asked Clementine and Clementine nods at this.
"Yes, I have to talk to your sister about it since she is a nurse here." Clementine tells her and Minerva nods.
"Understandable but would it be ok if I checked on the child?" Minerva asked her and she looked to me and I nod a bit.
"If Clementine is ok then yes." I say to her and Clementine nods.
"Sure." Clem says and Minerva shows us the bowl and we see Clementine holding a baby girl in our bed and I was next to her smiling.
"So, from what I'm seeing, this happened before I fight Gabe." I muttered.
"I didn't realize it but yes, you have no facial scars." Minerva says to us.
"Is this bad?" Clementine asked and I shrugged.
"No but it just means you should have more guards around in your weakened state, Gabe might try something." Minerva tells her.
"Ok, I will tell Marlon when the time comes." I tell Clementine and she looked to me and nods. We all finished up the small meeting and Minerva leaves the castle and I look to Clementine as we go back out to see the children. Mary was reaching her hand out to a rose and I come next to her and grabbed her hand gently before she could grab the stem.
"Careful, you'll hurt yourself that way." I tell her and she nods and we take a seat and look to the flowers a bit.
"What's a Walker?" Mary asked and I looked to her and sighed a bit.
"A uh… a Walker is a dead person who is able to walk and stuff, the person is basically the undead." I tell her.
"You mean the things that ate my mommy and daddy?" She asked and I looked to her shocked at this.
"Wait… what do you mean?" I asked her and she held her doll tighter to herself.
"You said Grandpa and the others wanted you to eat people… my parents were eaten by people… were they Walkers?" She asked and I look to her.
"I… I don't think so… I can look into it for you but I don't think they were Walkers." I tell her and she nods at this.
"You aren't going to eat someone are you?" She asked me and I shook my head.
"No, no sweetie I'm not going to do that." I tell her and she nods at this.
"Mom is going to have a baby." She says and I look to her.
"Mom?" I asked and she nods at this.
"I can't keep calling Mom Clementine, and you Violet… you're my mom and dad." She says and I smiled a bit to her and I chuckled as I rubbed her head gently.
"Or do you want me to call you mom too?" She asked.
"You can call me Dad if that's ok with you, or mama, I don't mind at all." I tell her and she nods at this.
"And yes Mom is going to have a baby, how do you know?" I asked and she turned her head away.
"I heard you and the other woman talking with mom on it." She tells us and I smirk.
"Oh, you were spying on us… I didn't notice it, you sneaky little one." I say as I pull her into my lap.
"You aren't mad?" She asked.
"No I'm impressed actually." I say to her. I then got up and picked Mary up with me, we then went over to Clementine and AJ as they both sat on the blanket. We take a seat with them and AJ talks to us again and I smiled.
"He's very talkative around you." Clementine tells me as I grabbed him and Mary wanted to try and hold him so I teach her.
"He must like me a lot." I tell Clementine who laughed at this.
"All kids love you, you're so sweet to them." She tells me and I nod.
"I love you too Mom." Mary tells her and Clementine looks to her shocked and I see tears in her eyes. I pulled her to me and I kissed her head gently.
"You ok Clementine?" I asked her and she nods to me.
"I'm just happy right now." She says and I nod in agreement, this was a good day for us. Though we all know that this happiness will end at some point today, especially with how our lives had been for the past few months.
