(Violet's Pov)
I heard some noise outside the castle walls so I look to the kids and Clem as I get up and go see what the issue is. As I opened the door, I saw a crowd of people yelling at me and I closed the door before they could disturb Lee. I look to the people as I tried to calm them down.
"Hello, what seems to be the issue?" I asked the people.
"Why do you have Carver still locked up?" a man asked and I look to him.
"I'm sorry but Carver has been involved in some illegal activities and we will have a trial set up for him." I explained.
"That's a lie he has been at the church and in the streets preaching how could he do something illegal?" Another man said.
"Yea, you only have him locked up because you don't like him." A woman says.
"Or she want's him." I hear another person mutter to my right and I look to them.
"I'm sorry that you all believe that but Carver has been spying on Queen Clementine and it-."
"He's been praying for her soul." A man says and I sighed a bit.
"Please listen Carver isn't who he says he is either." I tell them.
"That's a lie." A woman says and I look to them.
"We should have your head for locking up an innocent man." Someone says and I look around and I look to the group of people.
"Who informed you all of Carvers lock up?" I asked them.
"We received a letter in our homes telling us you locked Carver up for no reason." Someone says.
"May I see the letter if any of you are willing to show me?" I asked them and one person handed me theirs and I read it to myself, the basics of the letter is as they told me, the only thing that caught my eye was that this letter still had the wax seal on it.
"I'm sorry to inform you all but this letter seems to be from the Richmond Kingdom, Gabe is not to be trusted." I inform them.
"Wait what?" Someone says and I nod and show them the seal.
"See it's from the Richmond Kingdom." I tell them and they look to me.
"I uh… we-."
"This is why having proper information should be available to the people, please if you have any concerns don't hesitate to ask me on it." I tell them and they all agree as they leave and I look to the person who handed me the letter.
"May I keep this?" I ask them and they nod as they leave. I head back into the castle as I look to the letter again and I sighed as I go back to the garden and I take a seat next to Clementine.
"Is everything ok?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes, just the civilians being lied to again about Carver… seems Gabe told them about his lock up." I say as I hand her the letter. She looked over it and she sighed at the contents in the letter. I hold AJ as she sets the letter next to her on the ground and I smile to her sadly.
"Sorry, but we all know Gabe was going to be an issue, I didn't think he would be smart enough to try and get our own people to turn against us." I muttered and I looked to Mary who had her head in Clementine's lap and I smile at her and she smiles back to me.
"It's ok Papa, as long as you tell them the truth, they will never hurt you or mom." She says and I look to her. I have to give it to her, she is right on that.
"Yes, that is true but only to an extent, some people don't want to be told the truth, some people think the truth is a lie and the lie is the truth even after people tell them otherwise." I explained to her.
"But that means they don't want to learn." She says and both Clementine and I both nod at this.
"Yes, but they learn what they hear from others… actually didn't the old king try to ban reading for a few years?" I asked Clem and she nodded.
"Yes, but then people told him he wasn't allowed to read than, he didn't believe his own people but once his father told him he learned he was wrong and removed the law." Clem explained.
"He was stupid than." Mary mutters and I laughed at this.
"Yes, yes the old king was a fool when it came to common sense, but by that time the library had been burnt, thank the lord we had some people save the scrolls and books before the burning was to take place." I say and looked to AJ.
"History does tend to repeat itself though, I once heard in another kingdom, when I was still a knight that the town banned music, just because the king hated one song, and his wife loved music, so once he passed, she was able to change the law before her son took place." I explained.
"But music is so nice." She says and I nod at this and smile.
"Yes, it is, I forgot why he hated that one song." I think for a bit and sigh that I can't remember why it was banned.
"Maybe it had to do something with him?" Clem asked and I think a bit more.
"Probably, though I remember someone saying that it called him a lewd king or something, everyone in town knew he was the type of king to ask many women to bare him some children, pretty much asking women to have s-." Clem covered my mouth before I could finish my sentence and she shakes her head at me and then looked to Mary and I chuckled a bit before I removed her hand from my mouth.
"Let's just say he wanted a lot of women to go to sleepovers with him." Clem tells Mary and she nods at this.
"Oh, like you and papa?" She asked and I laughed at this and Clementine hits my shoulder and I laughed some more.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, that is rude for me to laugh at that." I tell her.
"But you and Papa both sleep in the same room a lot, isn't that a sleepover?" She asked and I look to Clem as she tried to explain.
"Well, I mean, you aren't wrong but Papa and I are married so we both stay in the same room together." Clementine tells her and I look to Mary.
"So, because you are married you stay in the same room?" She asked and we both nodded.
"Why would we sleep in separate rooms? I want to be near Mama at all times." I say and pull Clem to me and she giggles at this and I smile at her.
"Because my other parents never stayed in the same room." Mary says and I look to her.
"You remember that hu?" I asked and she looked up to me and nods and I heard AJ being fussy so I grabbed him and he pulled at my shirt a bit.
"I think he's hungry." Clem says and I nod as she hands me the bottle to feed him.
"So, when I get married, I can sleep with whoever I married?" Mary asked and I laugh again as Clementine places her hand to her face from the embarrassment of having this talk.
"I think we should get off this topic, just until you're older." Clem tells her.
"But-."
"Please Mary I think your mom is getting embarrassed." I tell her and she nods a bit at this and I smile to her.
"Ok." She says and then gets up and goes over to the flowers again and I think.
"I think we should get her a dog… I mean I did mention wanting a dog for the kids." I tell Clementine who looks up to me.
"I suppose we could, it will just have to be a while, you know the kids have to prove they're responsible enough to take care of one." She tells me and I nod.
"That is true… alright we can wait a bit on that." I tell her.
"So, Gabe has been becoming an issue… what happened?" She asked me and I look to AJ a bit.
"He sent letters to our own people telling them we had Carver locked up for no reason, and of course some people didn't like it till I explained to them about the issue we are having and the fact that Carver was staring at you." I muttered the last part.
"I didn't think he'd do that." She tells me and I look to her.
"We should know at this point that he would do anything to get the kingdom against me." I tell her.
"But you've been dealing with it… is it stressing you out? Do you need help?" She asked and I shook my head.
"I don't want to bother you with any of this stuff… I just…I mean I know you're involved anyways because Gabe keeps bringing you in it, but I don't want you to worry about these things… I mean… it's hard for me to explain." I tell her.
"You don't want me involved because you don't want me to get hurt, but you and I also agreed that we would talk these things out and that if you needed me to help you than I will help you any way I could." I hear her say.
"I know… and you are basically right on the dot." I tell her.
"Don't worry about me right now, worry about your health, I don't want you leaving me early in your life." She tells me and I nod at this.
"Come to think of it, isn't your birthday coming up?" She asked and I look to her.
"Oh no, we are not having a party." I tell her as she smiles.
"Come on, just a small one, nothing big." She says and Mary comes over.
"Papa's birthday is coming?" She asked and I sighed at this.
"I uh, well yes, it is." I tell her the truth.
"Are you going to have a party?" She asked and I rubbed my neck a bit then looked to Clem then back to Mary as she gave me the puppy look and I sighed.
"Yea we can have a small one, just a small one." I tell her.
"Ok, I can make you a gift?" She asked and I chuckled.
"You and AJ being here is a gift, I don't need anything from you guys, or your mom either." I say as I look to Clem who just whistled and I sighed.
"Ok, but I want to help make the cake." Mary says as she looked to Clementine.
"Omar would love that." She tells her. We stayed in the garden a bit longer and finished the food and drinks, we then went inside and a servant came up to us and she handed me a letter. I looked at it but saw no wax seal.
"Who's it from?" Clem asked as she held AJ.
"No clue, uh, take Mary to the library I'll come in a bit." I tell her and she nods as she takes both the kids to the library. I opened the letter and walked to my study.
'To the King of Macon, we have received word that Gabe might be attacking your kingdom soon, we just wanted to inform you of this so you and your knights would be prepared, I hope this doesn't cause issues for you. From: Unknown.' The letter stated and I sighed.
"How soon though?" I asked myself as I go and set the letter on my desk and head to the library and saw Mary trying to read a book, I go up to her and look at the book she had.
"Oh, this was one of my favorite stories when I was young." I tell her.
"Really?" She asked and I nodded.
"It's about a Knight, saving the princess from the evil dragon, but it turned out the princess was using this quest as a way to see if there was any knight worthy of her." I explained.
"Are dragons real?" Mary asked and I think.
"Well, I don't know, I mean if some other things are real, I would assume dragons to be real as well." I tell her and Clem giggles a bit to this and I smiled.
"Did you have to fight a dragon to be with mama?" Mary asked.
"Oh no, I never had to do that, your mom and I knew each other when we were younger, though I don't think I would have survived fighting a dragon." I say and look to the book.
"Especially if it breaths fire and I don't usually carry a shield with me, though that is kind of stupid now that I think about it." I said and I start to think on this.
"Violet, you have your thinking face on." Clem says and I chuckled and I look to her.
"I do?" I asked and she nods.
"Well thinking is good." I say and I look to Mary and I rubbed her head gently as she kept reading the book. It wasn't long till we were interrupted again but this time it was Carlos, Kenny and Lee as they come in.
"Uh, sorry about this but Violet we need to talk." Lee says and I look to Clem who nods and I get up and follow the three to the meeting room. We all sat down and the servant brought some tea for us and we drank a bit before someone spoke up.
"Violet, we need you to rethink on what we asked." Kenny says and I look to him as I set the cup down and I look around the room.
"You want me to eat a person? What if I can't stop?" I asked them and they look to me.
"We know you would stop." Lee says and I look to him.
"Have you found something important that I don't know about?" I asked.
"Well… no we didn't but I know you Violet, you would know when to stop, you wouldn't want to hurt Clementine or your kids." Lee explains and I sighed.
"I'm sorry but I don't want to do that, it's disgusting especially because I'm coherent enough to know what I'm eating and doing… I'll probably get sick as well." I explained.
"We know, we know it's a terrible thing to ask but it's the only option we can really think of… people wouldn't mess with your kingdom if they knew what happened to Gabe." Carlos asked and I look to him.
"Look, if you were a Walker like I am, would you eat the first person you hated?" I asked him as I glare at him.
"I uh."
"If your immediate answer is not yes or no, then I don't want to hear it Carlos." I tell him.
"Violet, please think on it." Kenny says.
"No, I will not eat Gabe I don't care how much I hate him, I will not and never will eat a person, I offered the duel, and one of us will die there, either way someone will die." I stated and I got up from the chair and I walked out the room. I was then pulled back into the room and I glared at them as I grabbed Carlos by his shirt and pinned him to the wall then grabbed my dagger and placed the dagger near his neck. He let go of my shirt and I glare at him some more.
"Don't you ever fucking touch me." I tell him and I pulled away but kept my dagger in hand.
"Violet, you don't understand-."
"No, you all want me to eat a person, not caring if I could get sick from it, or if I can't stop, I will not fucking do it, that is final." I tell them.
"Gabe has Sarah and Duck." Kenny says and I look to him.
"He sent a letter saying he has them and I can't find Duck anywhere, he never leaves without at least telling me or his mom." Kenny says.
"And Sarah doesn't leave the castle without any guards knowing how worried I get." Carlos says.
"What about Mariana?" I asked and looked to Lee.
"He has her as well." He tells me and he hands me the letter and I read it.
"But this doesn't explain why you would want me to eat the bastard." I tell them.
"He can't survive the duel, his body can't be found at all, just you stabbing him wouldn't do any good and we don't want people to give him a grave, it has to be as if he never existed." Kenny says and I look to them.
"I can bury his body somewhere." I tell them.
"We don't want anyone to even find his remains." Kenny says.
"Burning him." I state.
"No ashes or anyone knowing where he died." Carlos says and I pull my hair a bit at this.
"You're making fucking excuses, for fuck sake even if I eat him people would know, especially if I come back home with fucking blood on my face." I tell them.
"You can stay there a day and we can send someone out to give you something to clean up, and they wont be able to tell anyone anything that happened." Lee says and I shake my head and think about what Minerva showed Clementine and I and it clicked.
"It doesn't matter what I do." I muttered.
"What?" Lee asked.
"Nothing… nothing… whatever fine I will think on this, I will ask Clementine what she thinks." I tell them.
"No, she can't know." Kenny says and I look to them and I nod. They then left the room and I lean back in the chair a bit and I hear the door open and I see Minerva.
"I heard." She tells me and I nod.
"I'm guessing I can't change the future… send Gabe a letter telling us to meet in the abandon kingdom, in two weeks…please." I tell her.
"Are you sure?" She asked and I nod.
"They're so keen on me doing this… it won't change their minds." I tell her and she nods as I hand her a letter to give to Gabe.
"This also shows you'll be dueling after your birthday?" She asked and I nod.
"Might as well, I want it done and over with as soon as I can but I also want to spend what time left I have with my family… plus Mary wanted me to have a party." I say and chuckle a bit at that.
"Alright… I will be back." She says and disappears and I sighed as I look to the window and I hear a knock on my door. I get up to see Clementine.
"Gabe has Duck and the others?" She asked panicked and I nod.
"Don't worry, I have sent a letter to Gabe informing him that he and I will Duel in two weeks… He hurts them then I'll have our knights go and destroy his kingdom along with The New Frontier kingdom." I tell her.
"In two weeks?" She asked and I nodded.
"Yes, it gives me time to spend with you and the kids… and to train as well, I might be a bit rusty." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Alright… Let's go train." She says and I stop her.
"Uh, Clementine, it's just me that has to go train." I tell her.
"I can help you; you know this." She tells me and I look to her.
"I…. I don't want you to help me in this, there is no need for you to be helping-." She stopped me with a kiss and I kiss her back. We pulled apart and she looked to me.
"I am going to help you… plus I think it's time you and I test out how much I've learned." She says and I look to her. I take in a breath and I give in to her request.
"Alright… where are the kids?" I asked.
"The nurse is taking care of them." She tells me and I nod as we head to the training room. I grabbed one of the wooden swords for Clementine and I grabbed my own. She held the sword in her hands and I look to her as she looked back to me.
"Don't hold back." I tell her and she nods as she comes at me with the wooden sword. I block the swing as it was forward motion and I look at her as she moved her hand from the wooden sword. I tried to move to the side but if I did the weapon would hit my shoulder, she was able to grab my shirt and pull me towards her a bit but I pulled back as best as I could as I moved the weapons so I wouldn't get hit. I pushed back a bit as she finally let go of my shirt and I was able to push her back completely away from me.
"See you aren't rusty." She says to me and I chuckled.
"You think after one move?" I asked her and she nods as she came at me again but this time, I moved away but before I could completely, I felt something hit my side and I looked to see the wooden sword on my side and she looked to me as I looked back to her. We moved back and I chuckled at her.
"Come on I know you're better than this Violet." She tells me and I nod as we go again. I swung my weapon at her and she sidestepped the attack and I was quick to move away before she was able to swing at me. I moved to the side a bit as she swung at me again. I was able to block the weapon as it same to my side but because of this Clem was able to grab my shirt and push me away, which caused me to fall onto my back and Clem puts the wooden sword under my chin and I look to her as she looked to me.
"Again." I say as I get up and we doo this for a while, and every time I lost and I started to get pissed at myself.
"Violet, I think we should stop." She tells me.
"No… no again." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Violet, you need to rest a bit, we can do it again in a bit but you need to rest." She tells me and I shake my head.
"No, no I can't not-." I tried to say as I think. I feel hands on my face and I look to her and she looks at me.
"I need you to listen to me, you need to rest a bit, you're tired, we can rest a bit and then get back to it." She tells me and I look to her to see that she looks tired and I nod.
"Ok, I'm sorry." I tell her and she nods as we head to the kitchen to get something to drink and I see Mary and she waves to us and I chuckled as I go over to her.
"Oh, King Violet, Queen Clementine, how are you two?" The nurse asked and I drink some water.
"We are good just getting in some training." I say and Clementine nods as she grabbed AJ and gave him a kiss on the cheek. I smiled a bit at this as I take a seat next to Mary.
"Oh, with the Knights?" She asked and I shook my head.
"Nah, your mom and I are training together." I tell her.
"Can I watch?" She asked and I look to Clem who nods.
"Sure, but you need to stay away from us, we don't want to hurt you by accident." Clem tells her and I see Minerva.
"Minerva can watch them for us, if that's ok?" I asked our other nurse and she nods and I smiled a bit as Minerva comes over to us and she whispers in my ear.
"Gabe has not agreed to the battle in two weeks, he wants to battle in one week." She tells me and I look to her then to Clementine as she was talking to Mary.
"Ok, I will think on it." I tell her and she nods. After a while we all got up and headed to the training room again and I grabbed the wooden sword again and I swing it a bit from side to side and I take a breath as I hold the weapon with both hands and I look to Clementine as she grabbed her wooden sword and I take a breath.
"Ready?" Clementine asked and I look to her and I nod a bit. Clementine ran up to me and I dodged a swing to the right, I was able to block her next hit which was supposed to hit me in the chest and I moved her sword upward and she looked to me as she moved her foot and I was able to move my footing so she couldn't trip me. I pushed her back and brought my sword upward to land a blow to her shoulder but she moved to the left and I turn a bit to the side to block another strike from her. That's all that we are doing at this point was blocking and dodging, any time she had an opening she was quick to block, and the same was for me, anytime I had an opening I would be quick to block it. It got to the point that I started to feel tired and Clementine swung her sword at me again and I block it but I fell backwards and I hit my head on the ground and I groaned a bit as I looked up to see the wooden sword in my face and I sighed.
"GO MAMA!" I hear Mary yell and I take a few breaths an looked to Clementine as she held her hand out to me and I grabbed it as she helped me up. I felt her rub the back of my head and I look to her.
"Are you ok?" She asked and I nod.
"Yea just… disappointed right now." I say to her.
"… Are you mad at me?" She asked and I look at her.
"No god no I'm proud of you… I know you can take care of yourself at least." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Is something on your mind?" She asked as we went over to Mary and AJ.
"No, I just… I was overthinking things and it just distracted me." I tell her.
"You need to focus on the task is all." Minerva says and I look to her.
"Kind of hard to focus." I muttered and looked to Clementine.
"Maybe it's because you're training with Clementine, are you afraid you'll hurt her?" Minerva asked and I look to her then to Clem.
"I don't know, I'm just going to train some more tomorrow, we should be getting ready for tomorrow." I say and they nod as we all got ready to head to our rooms. Mary and AJ had taken their baths and they went to bed quickly, they must have been tired from today. I looked over to Clementine as she motions to the bathroom and I nod as we get our bath ready and I grabbed a change of clothes for Clementine and I, we both take a seat in the tub with Clementine leaning her back against my chest and I pull her close to me.
"Were you holding back today?" She asked and I shook my head.
"No… I wasn't holding back, I told you I was just distracted." I tell her.
"What about?" She asked and I think a bit.
"The fact that Gabe is using your friends as prisoners, the fact that your own father want's me to be a Walker and eat a person… even after I have told them no, multiple times at that… what we saw when Sophie showed the future." I tell her.
"Vi." I hear and I lean my chin on her shoulder as I take a breath.
"Now I know you can take care of yourself." I chuckled a bit as I kissed her shoulder.
"There has to be something else bothering you." She says and I grab her hand and I just hold her hand a bit.
"I honestly don't know, I just… knowing that people want me to do something that makes me feel uncomfortable… makes me think that your dad and the others want me to die… I know I know it's wrong to think this but with them asking me to do… that, and knowing you are involved somehow, it just makes me think that… I don't know." I say and she turned to look at me.
"You can't think that." She tells me and I look to her.
"Clementine… at this point I can't help but think that your dad and the others keep pushing it." I tell her.
"Then don't do it, Violet you do not have to do that at all." She tells me and I nod a bit.
"I know… I know." I say and she rubbed the back of my head a bit. We sat in the tub a bit and after a while we finally got out and changed into our clean clothes. We headed to the bedroom and we laid down in the bed and I looked to Clementine who looked back to me.
"I love you." I tell her.
"I love you too." She tells me and we finally fall asleep.
"Seems like you haven't figured things out yet." I hear Sophie say and I look to her.
"I am supposed to die… doesn't matter what I do, I'm going to go into a frenzy and I'm going to die." I say to her and she looked to me.
"I have to say you at least know your future." She tells me and I glare at her.
"I shouldn't have to die, why?" I asked.
"You were supposed to die in Crawford Violet." She tells me and I look to her.
"So that's why I have to die… after I finally fix up my life, I got to be with the woman I love and I finally have a family, and this is just bullshit, fucking bullshit." I say to her pissed.
"Violet, you were never supposed to have this type of life, Minerva messed with something she never should have, the Delta has messed up your timeline." She tells me and I look to her.
"I… look what's done is done I can't do anything about it now, but we have to deal with it." I tell her and she just looked to me a bit and I sighed and rubbed my face a bit and looked to the side.
"Violet… you were not meant to have this family this life, there is only one way to deal with this." She says and I shake my head.
"What get myself killed? Kill myself? You think I haven't tried that?" I asked her and she looked to me a bit then the scenery changed to the battlefield, and I looked around at all of this.
"Why?" I asked and she points to the right and I see that I am on the field dying as my men picked me up and took me to the medic tent. I went to the tent to see they were trying to help me but nothing seemed to be working. I finally end up dying from my injuries.
"Ok I get it I'm supposed to die stop this." I tell her.
"No keep watching." She says and I look to see them taking my body and we are taken back to Macon. I see Clementine running up to my body and crying and I looked away.
"Keep watching." She tells me.
"No… you want me to watch Clementine suffer?" I asked a bit pissed at this.
"Just keep watching." She tells me and I sighed and looked back to see that they are holding my funeral and I watch as Gabe comes up to Clementine and gives his condolences.
"Gabe and she were never going to get married; Gabe was never supposed to meet you at all." She says and I keep watching this.
"He may have feelings for her but at this point he knows he is beat." She tells me as I watch him and Clem talking.
"They were to be friends, never lovers." She tells me and I shake my head.
"Stop this… please stop this." I tell her.
"Why?" She asked.
"Because I know me being alive is not meant to happen, but it did ok, I am dealing with this bullshit, so you don't have to keep reminding me of this bullshit." I tell her and she looked to me.
"Are you telling me I should let Gabe win this battle?" I asked her and she nods a bit at this, and I take a seat and look to Sophie who was also taking a seat.
"What will happen if I do let him win?" I asked her.
"I can't tell you; you might change it." She says and I look to the side then back to her.
"Fine… fine I will think on it." I tell her.
"There is nothing for you to think on." She says and I wake up in a cold sweat and wiped my face a bit at this and looked around to see Clementine getting up and looking at me.
"You ok Violet?" She asked me and I nod at this.
"Yea just… just a bad dream is all." I tell her and she nods a bit at this.
"Ok, do you need something to drink?" She asked and I shook my head and I think a bit on this.
"I need to go talk to someone." I say as I get up and I get dressed.
"Who are you-."
"Carver… I just… something doesn't seem right." I say.
"You can't talk to him, you're basically the judge in his trial." She tells me.
"I know this Clementine I really do but something isn't right, and I need to talk to him on Gabe he has to know something." I tell her and she nods as she also gets up.
"I'm coming than." She tells me and I look to her. In all honesty I can't stop her, and she must know these things as well in case something does happen to me. She gets dressed and I look to AJ as he slept and Mary. We then headed to our horses and went to the jail, the guard was a bit hesitant, and I understand why but he let us in, and I go over to Carver who was looking at us as we walked in.
"My isn't this a surprise." He says and I look to him.
"You know it's not." I tell him.
"Come to let me out since you have nothing on me?" He asked and I sat in a chair in front of his cell and Clem took a seat to the side and I look at him.
"We have many things on you, the fact that you were the old king in Howes and how you forced women." I say and he looked to me.
"I didn't force them; I'm guessing Carlos or Luke told you this." He says.
"We have documents on it, regardless you are still guilty for the false information you want to spread." I tell him and he looked to me.
"But I was right about you being part of the undead." He tells me and I look to him.
"You said you met God, I put two and two together." He says and I look at him more and lean back a bit in the chair.
"What do you know about the undead?" I asked him.
"Oh, I know that you are Satan's workers." He tells me and I look to him.
"What if I was forced into this?" I asked.
"Then I feel sorry for you." He tells me and I look at him more.
"Don't, I don't need your pity I just need to know what you have on Gabe and maybe I can consider not giving you the death penalty." I tell him and he looked to me.
"You mean the whiny brat complaining he can't have Clementine as his bride?" He asked and I looked to him, and I nod.
"Only thing I know about him is that he is mad because you married Clem before him, let's be honest here Clementine is a strong girl that knows how to take care of herself, in all honesty I would be happy if she ruled and not you." He says to me, and I look to him.
"I can agree with you on that, but I do try to make things better as best as I can." I tell him.
"Don't get me wrong you were right, I never really experienced war outside of Macon, only the small war I had to deal with back in my old kingdom, but regardless something has changed are you willing to give me some information?" He asked.
"You can't tell a soul, think of it as confession." I tell him and he nods.
"Fair enough." He says and I look to Clem then to him.
"I've been talking with a dead Witch in my dreams." I tell him.
"What has she been saying?" He asked.
"… I was meant to die in Crawford." I tell him and he nods.
"If that is where you died before you were turned into this undead being then yes, I suppose so." He tells me.
"Do you know why the Delta did this?" I asked him.
"Seems like they needed an inside person to help with their cause with the new kingdom, though that new kingdom was meant to be Gabe's was it not?" He asked and I nodded.
"Though I'm assume that was all you were meant to be… they should have taken you ok by now since you are no longer needed." He tells me.
"The Witch messed up when she gave me my heart back." I tell him.
"Ah, she was too quick, wasn't she?" He asked, and I nodded at this.
"Yes." I tell him.
"I know of a place where it can be fixed, but you will end up dead once it happens, and not like you are now, you will never wake up." He tells me.
"No." I hear, and I look to Clementine.
"Clem."
"No, you will not do this we can find another way but not this." She tells me and I sighed a bit as Carver chuckled.
"See, head strong girl, but that is the only thing I know, sorry." He says and I look ot him and I nod.
"We can talk about that later." I muttered and he nods, and I look to him.
"Anyway, as far as I know you have to go to the grounds where you died, have a battle there with Gabe, he can take your place, not as a Walker though, just take your place in death." He tells me.
"How does that work?" I asked.
"Get the Witch that cursed you to go there with you, she can start working on the spell that she used on you, take his heart and destroy it, he'll take your place." He says and I look to him.
"Could I end up dead?" I asked.
"There is a high chance you will end up dead, but that is up to the lord." He tells me and I think a bit on this.
"Vi-." Clem tries to say but I stopped her and looked to Carver.
"Are you lying to me?" I asked him and he shook his head.
"No, I am not, that is a sin." He tells me. I take a look at him, and I nod.
"Alright, when they set your trial, I'll tell them you helped me if I am alive by that time." I say and he nods, and Clem and I leave the jail and I help her on the horse and I get on mine.
"Violet you aren't going to take his word seriously, are you?" She asked.
"I don't but at this point I'm willing to take the risks, nothing left for me to lose." I tell her.
"What about your family?" She asked, and I look to her.
"I don't want to lose any of you, I want this fight with Gabe to be over I don't want to be a Walker anymore, and I don't want your dad and the others to keep asking me to fucking eat a person, even if I hate the boy, I'm not going to eat him." I say pissed.
"And what do I tell the kids if you end up dead?" She asked and I sighed.
"Make something up, hell if you're angry as hell at me tell them I was a bastard that left you." I tell her.
"What about your child?" She asked, and I look to her, and she nods at me, and I look to the road ahead of us.
"You… you're?" I tried to ask, and she nods at this.
"Yes… I talked to the nurse." She tells me and I nod.
"I… I don't know… don't think I don't love the kids I do, and I love you but… why did you even stay once you knew everything?" I asked her.
"You're still the Violet I love, I want to help you when I can, I love you." She tells me and I wanted to cry but I didn't.
"I love you too." I tell her and she nods. We head back into the castle and head back to bed.
