(Violet's Pov)
We were woken up by a knock at the door and I get up and rub my eyes a bit then head to the door and I see Lee. He was looking at me as I looked up to him, he seemed a bit worried, but he kept his cool.
"We need to talk." He says and I nod a bit at this.
"After I change?" I asked and he nods as he leaves, and I go and get changed. I kissed Clem as she sat up in the bed and Mary wanted a hug and I smiled as I gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. I then left to go to my study, and I look to see Carlos and Kenny there as well.
"What is going on?" I asked them.
"Gabe wants the battle to happen tonight." Kenny says and I look to him, and I nod.
"Alright, we can do that." I tell him.
"Same place, right?" Kenny asked and I shook my head at this.
"No, we are going to Crawford," I tell him.
"Wait why change it now?" Carlos asked and I look to him.
"Just a change, not that bad, and regardless he will agree to this not like he wouldn't agree anyway an early fight is better than nothing." I tell them and he nods as I grabbed some papers and wrote to Gabe on where we were going to fight.
"Why don't we keep a witness on both ends?" Carlos says and I look to him.
"I will already have a witness; I will just tell him he needs to bring one though I don't know who it will be and if they are trustful on the story of what happens there." I say as I write some more.
"Any rules?" Lee asked.
"Nope, just a fight to the death." I simply say and I see Minerva walk in, so I hand her the letter and she nods and takes it out the room. I looked to the others, and I take a breath.
"Kenny, Carlos, I need to talk to Violet alone please." Lee tells them and they nod and leave the room and I look to Lee.
"I hear Clementine is pregnant." He tells me and I look to him.
"Guessing the nurse told you?" I asked and he nods.
"I was worried when Clem got up the other morning and wasn't feeling to well." He says and I nod at this,
"Yes… I gave her a potion and it seems to have worked." I tell him and look to the papers a bit.
"You will fight to stay alive right? Can't have the child growing up without their other parent." He tells me and I nod.
"Can't have any of them growing up like that." I tell him and he nods and leans back in the chair. I look to him a bit and he looked back to me and I looked back to him a bit and I sighed.
"You want me to still eat him hu?" I asked and he looked to me, and I shake my head.
"That's the best option we have Violet." He tells me and I look to him.
"Lee… I am not going to eat him; I will make sure his body is gone but I will not eat him." I tell him and he looked to me.
"Violet."
"Lee, listen to me, I am not going to do that I don't care, if I do eat him and go into a frenzy then we both know that you and the others will have me killed, and I will not have that happen, now please respect my wishes on not doing this." I tell him and he looked to me, and I shake my head a bit as he gets up and leaves. It was a few moments later when I heard the door open again and I look to see Clementine and I smiled a bit at her, and I get up and I kissed her cheek. She kissed me on the lips, and I smirked at her.
"How are you this morning?" I asked.
"Doing well just a little sick but we can get passed that." She says and I chuckled then looked to her.
"Clem…. Gabe wants the fight tonight so." I try to hell her, and she looked to me, and I look back to her.
"Deny it." She tells me.
"Sorry I already agreed and added some things to the paper." I tell her.
"Right… get this done and over with." She muttered and I looked to her as she looked mad.
"Are you mad at me?" I asked her.
"… A bit pissed yes." She tells me and I look to her.
"You can't be-."
"Yes, I can be, you… Gabe… all of this… I understand you didn't ask for any of this, and when you talked to Carver last night." She says and I take her to a chair and we both take a seat and I look to her.
"You shouldn't have to do this; Gabe is just being a brat." She says.
"I know… I know and I don't want to Clementine, but I must… I know how it is to fight in wars, why am I going to risk others when I can just fight the cause myself… I won't die, you know I will do anything to stay alive." I tell her and she looked to me.
"And what if you do die?" She asked and I smile just a bit not much but just a bit.
"Then do not mourn for me, what's the saying uh… don't weep for the stupid or you'll be crying all day." I say to her, and she chuckles a bit at this, and I smiled at her.
"Got you to laugh." I say and she nods at this.
"Yea… You did." She says quietly and I look to her.
"Clem… I will do anything I can to stay alive, I just… don't want you to deal with this ok… it's just to get things over with and I'm surprised he wants to fight tonight, we will have someone there from each side to witness the fight, and we will try to get Gabe to take my place." I tell her.
"Fine… fine I get it I really do but you have to remember that I'm just worried, not just for you but for the kids too." She tells me and I nod at this, and she looks at my hands and I hold her hand gently. I kiss her cheek gently and she smiles at this.
"Let's go get something to eat." I say and she nods as we leave the study and head to the dinning hall. I see Mary and AJ there and I go over and give them each a kiss on the cheek and Mary pats the chair next to her and I smile as I take a seat next to her. She tells me all about the dream she had, and I see Clem holding AJ and I smile at her. It wasn't long till we had finished our breakfast and we head out to the garden and take a breather. I would rather spend some time with my family before I end up dead anyway. As the time passes on by, I watch as Mary would hold AJ in her arms, and I smile to Clementine as she watched this. I look up to see Minerva as she comes up to me and Clem greets her.
"Hello Sophie." She says and Minerva laughs a bit.
"Sorry it's Minerva." She tells her.
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean." Clem apologizes but Minerva stops her.
"It's ok, um… Violet we have to go." She tells me and I nod as I kissed Clementine and gave the kids a kiss on the head. I went and grabbed some armor and my sword as I followed Minerva who casted her spell for a quick transport to the battlefield. The grounds were a bit burnt from the fires, there was still some dried blood after years of being here, how it's still her makes no sense, but nothing does these days. I look around the field a bit and I look to see Gabe coming up to us and I see he had Duck and the others with him.
"So… you finally came." He says and I nod and looked to the others.
"Are you all ok?" I asked Sarah and the others.
"Yea, we are." Duck says and I look to him to see he has a black eye and I glared at Gabe.
"Your Witch here can take these two, but Mariana will be the witness to my side of the battle." He says as he lets them go and Minerva quickly transports them back to Macon and I look to him.
"You want her to see all this?" I asked him.
"Not like she hasn't before… anyway let's get this going already." He says and I look to him as he draws his sword and I look to him then back to Minerva. I pulled my sword from the sheath on my hip, and I look to him.
"Hope you've been training, though I don't care either way you'll be dead." He says and I look to him.
"Let's just have a small chat before we fight." I say.
"About what?" He says and I look to him.
"Look… you and I both want what's best for Clementine, do you really think this is the best outcome for her?" I asked him.
"She would be happier with me, and you know it." He says and I look to him.
"You think she will, but she won't, the kids would never like you, my own child won't like you." I tell him and he looked pissed as he comes up to me and places the tip of his blade to my neck, but I don't move as he glared at me.
"You tainted her." He says and I look to him.
"She wanted it, she wants this child, my child, not yours." I tell him and he is seething with hate.
"Gabe… I didn't ask to become what I am I never asked for it, the delta did this to me, none of this was supposed to happen." I tell him and he looked to me.
"I never asked to be kept alive… to be used as a monster." I tell him.
"What do you mean used?" He asked as he kept his blade to my neck.
"The others want me to eat you…. Like the monster I am but I kept telling them no that I won't… I hate you but I refused to eat your flesh." I tell him and he looked to me.
"You're a coward than." He says as he moves his sword to take a swing at me, but I was able to grab it with my hand.
"I am not… Gabe listen to me; we can end this without death or fighting." I tell him and he looked to me.
"No, the only way to get this done and over with is to fucking kill you." He says and I let go of his sword and shove him back before he could take another swing, I backed up a bit at this and he kept swinging at me that I blocked it at one point before he kicked me in the knee making me fall.
"Fuck." I say and move back as he swings at me again. I block the sword again as he comes down on me and I look to him.
"You took her from me, you fucking tainted her, you fucking monster." He says and I shove him back a bit and swing at him as he backed up more. I tried to get up again, but I felt a kick to my stomach as I fell to my side and held it a bit and rolled to the left as he swung down on me.
"SHE LOVED ME MORE THAN YOU CAN'T YOU SEE THAT?!" I yelled at him, and he just keeps swinging at me.
"SHE WOULD HAVE NEVER MARRIED YOU IF YOU TOLD HER THE TRUTH, YOU HAD TO LIE TO HER!" He yells at me, and I get up as fast as I could, and I look at him.
"You're right, she might not have been with me had I told the truth in the beginning, but we don't know that, and we never will, she still loves me Gabe, why can't you be happy for her?" I asked as I backed up and blocked any of his blows.
"She would be happier with me." He says pissed.
"How do you know?" I asked as he swung at me again and he glares at me.
"She could have children the normal way." He says.
"She's wanted to adopt kids, she was an orphan just like me, we wanted to take in kids like us." I tell him as I dodged his blow again and again.
"She wouldn't be carrying your child, it's a freak of nature." He says and I blocked his blow, and I kicked his leg and backed up as he went down to the ground.
"She wants this Gabe, I wouldn't let her if she didn't want this, I would do anything to make her happy." I tell him.
"Then let her fucking choose." He says and he gets up and comes running at me and I hold my sword with both hands.
"She's already chosen." I say as I lift my sword up and take a swing.
"You never gave her the chance, you had to have tricked her in some way." He says as he takes a swing, and we cross our blades, and he looks at me.
"I didn't, whoever told you that was lying Gabe." I tell him and I backed up at this.
"Shut up." He says and comes after me again and I glare at him as I back away and hold my sword up.
"Just shut the fuck up." He says and comes after me again. I placed my sword downward a bit and as he came up to me, I was able to pull upward, and he had let go of his sword which made it fly upward and to the side a bit and I placed my sword to his neck as he glares at me.
"Do it." He says and I look to him more and I shake my head at this as I grabbed his sword and handed it back to him.
"The fuck is wrong with you?" He asked pissed and I look to him.
"Not a fair fight." I say and he glares at me as he grabbed his sword and tried to swing at my stomach, but I moved back a bit for him to hit the armor and I look at him. I kept this game up for a while, I was treating this as a game while I could it was the most fun, I could get out of this as weird as it seems.
"GOD DAMN IT FUCKING FIGHT!" Gabe yelled and I looked to him as he swung at me again and I chuckled. This made him even angrier as I dodged more, and I was able to grab his sword by the hilt and he looked a bit scared as I yanked it out of his hand, and I shoved him back and pointed his own sword at him. He looked at me and I just glare at him.
"You really want me to fight you?" I asked as I placed the sword to his arm, and he looked to me, and I smirked at him. I then looked up to see Mariana looking to us. She was scared and I don't blame her at all. I then looked to Minerva who just looked to me, and I looked back to Gabe who didn't attempt to move at all. I knew he had the opportunity when I looked to the two women, but he didn't.
"Fuck you." He says and I see him move his hand and I backed up as he pulled out a blade and he took a swipe at me. I kept hold of both swords and I made a block when I could, but it was hard for me to do in all honesty. I guess he figured that out when he hit his own sword with the back of his armored hand and it was dropped as I grabbed my sword with both hands, and I lifted my sword up to try and scare him. That was a terrible idea on my end as he was able to stab me in the shoulder and I groaned in pain as he let go of his blade and ran to his sword. I pulled the dagger out as he came after me and he was able to stab me in the leg and I kneeled down as I tried to remove the sword. He laughed as I looked up to him and he pulled the sword out and I tried to apply pressure.
"GABE STOP!" I hear Mariana yell out, but it fell on deaf ears as he took another swing hitting me in the face with his dagger that he picked up from the ground. I held my face and moved my hand to see blood and I look up to him as he looked to me. I grabbed my sword, and I was able to stab him in the open part of his shoulder armor. He yelled in pain, and I smelt his blood. I shake my head as I back up a bit and covered my nose and mouth.
"Fucking bitch." He says and he looks at me as I look back to him. His eyes had gone wide as I stood up and I look at him. I don't know why but I go up to him as fast as possible and finally grabbed his arm and ripped it from its socket. He yells in pain as I keep pulling on his arm, I laughed as I finally ripped his arm completely off and he falls to the ground, and I smirked at him as he looked at me with horror as I waved at him with his own arm. He held the part where his arm once was and he yells out more as I chuckled at this.
"YOU BITCH!" He yells and I laughed some more.
"You wanted a fight, I warned you, I fucking warned you." I tell him as I looked at his arm in my hand and I chuckled.
"You were warned, why do you think I never stabbed you?" I laughed as I circled him.
"Violet." I hear and I look to Minerva, and I smirked to her then looked back to Gabe as he cried and held to try and keep the blood in.
"Oh, don't worry I wouldn't let you suffer… that much." I chuckled as I grabbed the dagger on my side, but I felt a pain in my back and turned to see Clementine standing there and I smirked at her.
"How'd you get here?" I asked as she looked to me, and I laughed.
"It doesn't matter, come to watch me kill this piece of garbage?" I asked and looked to Gabe.
"Violet, stop you know what happens." She says and I see the dagger in her hand, and I chuckled.
"Oh… is Queen Clementine going to kill me?" I asked as I walk up to her, and she backed up a bit and I chuckled.
"You-Your eyes." She says and I smirked and then I turn to see another Witch come and grab Gabe and vanish and I growl in anger. I had him, I had him I had him.
"I FUCKING HAD HIM!" I yelled as I threw his arm to the side, and I look to Clem and glare at her.
"Violet." She says and I hold my dagger.
"Why… Why did you fucking save him? I could have ended all of this, I could be human again, I could have ended all of this so no one else can die but no one fucking listens to me." I say pissed at her.
"You don't understand." She says and I swing my dagger at her and she dodges it and I glare at her.
"What's to understand? You let the bastard get away I was winning." I tell her as she dodges my attack.
"Violet listen."
"NO! YOU LET HIM GET AWAY I FUCKING HAD HIM!" I yelled before I tried to stab her again. But again, I was mistaken, Clementine and I weren't training so she ended up pulling at my armor and cutting the leather that held my chest plate off. I backed up a bit, but her grip was strong as she stabbed me in the chest, and I looked up to her as she looked scared. I tried to take a breath, but it hurt to breath, and I looked down to see blood on the blade. I look back to her as she looks to me scared and I grabbed her hand that kept the blade in place, and I try to clear whatever is in my throat. Was it blood?
"You… you have to listen." She cried as I listen to her, and I kept still. Was my heart beating again? What was going on. I turn my head a bit to not see Minerva anymore and I look to see Mariana gone as well. I then look back to Clementine.
"Hmm." I felt more pain in my chest as I tried to pull the dagger out, but Clem stops me, and I look to her scared as I feel blood leave my mouth and she looked to me scared.
"I… I didn't mean to but you." She tried to say, and I nod a bit as she moves me just a bit to keep me in a comfortable position. I tried to breath in a bit.
"Vi, those dreams you have been having, that was never Sophie, Minerva told me everything…. I… we just." She tries to say, and I coughed a bit as she tried to keep some pressure on my wound. I look to see Minerva come over and try to use magic and I just didn't move I only looked to Clem.
"I didn't mean to… I am so sorry." She says and I smiled a bit at her.
"To much blood." I hear Minerva say as her and Clem start to argue. I felt my eyes go a bit heavy.
"No, no no, don't close your eyes you need to be awake." Clem says and I try to keep my eyes open, and I look up to her.
"Why?" I asked.
"This place, this place is not a good place." I hear Minerva say and I tried to keep calm.
"Did you bring a horse?" I hear.
"Yes, and a cart, just, get it and we can go." I hear Clem say as Minerva hurries and leaves and I look to Clem.
"Place bad?" I muttered and she nods, and I nod too.
"I died here." I tell her.
"I know, that's why you can't die here. Ok?" She asked and I nodded a bit as I hear a horse and I feel myself being lifted. I close my eyes in pain and I chuckled a bit as I felt my body relax a bit. I look up to see Clementine looking down at me sadly. I felt my heartbeat again and I felt the horse and cart move and I coughed a bit.
"Why not there?" I asked.
"It's a bad place." She says.
"Why?" I asked her again and looked to the sky to see the stars.
"I can explain when you're better we just have to go now." She tells me.
"Can't die there or here?" I asked I myself was a bit confused at what I had asked, and she didn't say anything.
"Not there?" I asked or tried to ask.
"No, not there, not here." She says and I nodded a bit.
"Home?" I asked.
"You… at home… no you can't leave me." She says worried and I feel my heart beat slower. It hurt it really hurt, how was I still alive right now?
"How… alive now?" I asked my voice breaking.
"What?" Clem asked.
"Heart… beating… hurts." I muttered as I closed my eyes a bit and she shakes me a bit and I open my eyes again in worry and I look up to her.
"You can't close your eyes, not yet." She tells me and I nod.
"When?" I asked.
"When we get home." She tells me and I nod as I try my best to keep my eyes open. I don't know how long it took but I saw the sun and I look to Clem who was still looking at me then back to Minerva.
"Why… no magic?" I asked.
"Minerva says it could hurt you more, it's ok, we are almost home don't worry, ok?" She asked and I nod as I try my best.
"Can… sleep?" I asked.
"No, she can't." I hear Minerva say and I look to Clem, and I nod.
"How am… I alive?" I asked.
"You're still a Walker, it hurts I know but you only have blood in you to keep your body from stiffening up and hurting." I hear Minerva say and I nod as I take in this information. Though sadly after two days of this pain I finally closed my eyes and I felt Clem shaking me but I couldn't open my eyes for her.
