(Clementine's Pov)
I was shaking Violet as I tried to wake her up. I was careful with the dagger in her chest as I tried to wake her up, but nothing was working. I look to her chest to see her still breathing but I was still terrified of this being her last moments and I get angry. No not at Violet never at her because she didn't ask for any of this at all.
"GOD DAMN IT!" I yell as I try anything to wake her up.
"What's going on?" Minerva asked and I looked to her pissed.
"Fuck you, you're the reason she's like this." I say out of anger.
"God, damn it tell me what is going on." She tells me.
"She won't open her eyes damn it." I say worried as I kept a close eye on her chest.
"She still breathing?" She asked.
"Yes, but it's labored." I tell her.
"Ok, we aren't in Crawford it's ok, just keep her breathing that's all." She says so calmly and I get pissed at this.
"Fucking god damn it… fucking Witches all the same." I say pissed.
"Hey, I'm trying to fucking help here." She says and I glare at her.
"You are the fucking reason she is in this mess god damn it, and your so-called sister didn't make things better." I say to her mad.
"I didn't mean for any of this to happen, she wasn't supposed to be a part of this." Minerva says and I look back to Violet as she breathes some more, and it pains me to see her like this.
"You still fucking forced her to do this, you made her like this when you didn't have to, you knew something bad could happen and you didn't try to fucking stop it, you're more at fault for this than anyone else." I say to her.
"I know and I'm not saying I have no part in this and that I am not to blame but you have to understand that if I didn't something worse would have happened." She tells me.
"WHAT IS WORSE THAN THIS? YOU MADE HER GO MAD!" I yelled at the Witch as she kept the horse going.
"More people would have been turned into Walkers, the whole world probably it would have been death in the millions, people would have suffered, watching their loved ones die, having to kill their loved ones, many people would have gone mad, Violet herself doesn't know this and I never wanted her to know this because then she would have agreed to all this… I didn't want her to think she was at fault if she refused to become the dead… and it wasn't the Delta that set this, it was a demon of some kind." She explained to me, and I glared at her.
"So instead of telling her all of this you let her go mad? You let this happen to her." I say getting more and more pissed.
"I didn't want this to fucking happen, I love her god damn it." She says and I freeze at this, and I look to her. I see her stiffen at this and I glare at her.
"You fucking-."
"But she will never love me back and I know this… you two don't remember me, I use to live at your orphanage, we all did but you two were so close you didn't care to play with the other kids… I left her a note telling her that I loved her, but she thought it was you… she always thought of you and never me, and I didn't do this out of revenge I did this because I knew… I knew Violet wouldn't want you in that type of world with the dead trying to kill you or children…. Again, she would have agreed if she knew this and again, I didn't want her to blame herself because if she did… she would have… she would have taken herself out… I hate the fact that I did this to her, I really do hate all of this, for fuck sake I'm scared that she will die and I'll blame myself every day for this, hell I am blaming myself for this right now." She explains and I look to her back more and I see her move her arm to her eyes to wipe what I assume are tears.
"She will never love me, she only loves you, she did all this for you." I hear her say and I look back to Violet as she coughed some more blood, and I grabbed the rag on the side as I cleaned the blood from her face.
"Clementine, I didn't want any of this to happen… I didn't." She says and I look to Violet sadly.
"If she dies… I will kill you." I tell Minerva.
"I understand." She says as she keeps keeping the horse on track and I keep an eye on Violet. It took us a while to finally get home and we both rushed Violet into the castle through the secret entrance, I didn't want the children to see her like this at all. This was not what they needed to see her like at all, and what was I going to tell them? I stabbed their papa. I helped set Violet on the bed and looked to see she was still breathing but barely and Minerva grabbed some potions and medicine and I backed away a bit.
"I need your help." She says and I nod at this.
"What do I do?" I asked her.
"I need you to pull the dagger out, gently though I don't want her waking up and freaking out." She says and I nod as I grabbed the dagger and pull slowly but I see Violet open her eyes and grip the dagger as she looked to me. her eyes were whit and I freaked out as I backed up and Minerva looked to Violet as she shoved her to the bed, and she looked to me.
"Take it out now." She tells me and I nod as I take the dagger out and I hear Violet groan a bit and I grabbed some rope and tied Violet's hands together so it would be harder for us to get grabbed by her.
"What happened?" I asked scared as Minerva moved and placed her hand on the wound and I hold Violet's head so she can't bite Minerva. Or me.
"It's fine, it's fine it was going to happen, she isn't a full Walker." She says to me, and I look to her.
"What do you mean a full fucking Walker?" I asked her pissed.
"She isn't dead, I can still feel her heart beating, look she hasn't bitten you yet." She says and I look to Violet who was looking at me and then to Minerva then back to me. Was she still there?
"Can she talk?" I asked.
"I don't think so, just try talking to her." Minerva tells me as she grabbed some medicine and moves the torn part of Violet's shirt and placed a cloth with the medicine on the wound and Violet hisses in pain.
"Hey, it's ok… it's ok Violet." I tell her and she looks to me and nods a bit as Minerva keeps working on her. I smile a bit at the fact that Violet was able to understand me at least a little bit. I knew she was in a lot of pain, but I didn't know what to do. I just let Minerva work on her as best as she could it hurt me to see her like this. She was sweating like crazy she looked to me a bit scared as her eyes were turning back to normal and I gently rub her head and slick the hair out of her face. She closed her eyes as she tried to breath as best as she could, and I look at her as she was finally able to breath normally. I look to Minerva as she put away the potions and medicine and I glared at her, and she looked back to me and sighed a bit. She went to go wash her hands and I looked back to Violet as she slept. I heard the door open, and I look to see Minerva looking at us and I glare at her more.
"Stop glaring at me." she says.
"No… I'm still putting you at blame for this." I tell her.
"I didn't tell you to stab her." She says.
"I didn't want to." I say and look back to Violet as I rubbed her head gently.
"Look… we can go at each other's throats till we're old and grey, but you need to stop being mad at me, just for now until she is better… we need to explain to her what is going on." I hear Minerva say and I rubbed Violet's head more and I look to the side a bit then back to her. She was sleeping and looked at peace but that is to be expected once you're in the safe area of the brink of death. We both kept an eye on her as time went by and it took a few days of waiting before Violet finally woke up.
"Hmm… what?" She asked and I get up from the chair and I go over to her.
"Hey, you need anything?" I asked her worried and she looked to me, and I nod.
"Water?" She asked and I nodded as I asked a servant to bring some water and I look to Violet who was sitting up in the bed and she looked to Minerva.
"You feel better?" Minerva asked her and she nods.
"Yea… just… chest hurts." She muttered and I hear a knock on the door and grabbed the drink and went back over to Violet and she took a drink.
"I'll get you some food." Minerva says and I watch her as she leaves, and I feel eyes on me, and I look to Violet, and I go and take a seat next to her and I look at her.
"What happened?" She asked and I look at her.
"What do you remember?" I asked her and she shakes her head a bit.
"I was fighting Gabe and tore off his arm… then you showed up and… stabbed me." She says and I nod at this.
"And nothing else?" I asked and she nods.
"Well… other than you telling me not to close my eyes." She says and I nod at this.
"Violet…. Minerva told me everything…. Why didn't you?" I asked her and she looked to me, and I look at her.
"I couldn't… you know I couldn't." She says.
"You could have god damn it." I tell her and she looked to me a bit shocked. We then hear the door open, and Minerva comes in with some food and Violet eats some of the food. She had to have been really hungry since she hadn't eaten in days.
"So, tell me why I couldn't die there?" She asked.
"The Crawford grounds was known for deaths… it use to be an old town that was destroyed due to the plague that happened there many years ago, though we don't know why people have battles there until now." Minerva explained and Violet looked to me, and I nodded.
"We found this out with old records in the library… think of it as a burial ground of disturbed souls." Minerva tells her and she looked to Minerva.
"So, we have been fighting on graves of people who would do what?" She asked.
"Nothing, just the fact that the place is known for battles and death since it was burnt to the ground, people claim for it to be haunted, and if it is true, if you or Gabe died there you would have been taken to hell and haunt those lands, dying over and over again." I say to her, and she looked to me.
"Ok so supernatural magic religious stuff… fine…I get it… but that stab really did hurt." She says and rubs where her wound is, and I look to her sadly.
"Sorry… I didn't want to, but you went crazy." I tell her and she nods at this.
"Minerva can Clem and I be alone?" She asked and Minerva nods and leaves the room and I look to her as she takes a drink of her water and I shake my head a bit.
"What?" She asked.
"So, you couldn't tell me a god damn thing about any of this?" I asked her and she looked to me.
"Clem-."
"No… you need to come clean now Violet, I am not messing around anymore." I tell her and she looked to me a bit scared.
"I uh…" She tried to say something, and I look to her as she sets the cup down and she looked down to her lap and messed with her fingers.
"Violet." I say and she looked up to me a bit and I sighed.
"You need to tell me what is going on right now." I say and she nods a bit and takes a breath.
"I… what do you want to know?" She asked.
"Everything." I say and she thinks a bit.
"Uh… well I am uh… confused." She says and I look to her
"Confused about what?" I asked getting mad that she is avoiding this.
"Why… Sophie was talking to me." She says and I look to her.
"Minerva's dead sister?" I asked and she nods.
"I'm not supposed to be here… I was supposed to die… why did you save me?" She asked me and I look to her.
"Because you have a family, and you are being reckless right now." I tell her and she leans her back on the bedpost.
"I'm not supposed to be here, I am supposed to be dead… I am not allowed to be happy; I am supposed to be dead in the ground… no family, no wife… nothing." She says quietly and I look to her as she looked to me.
"I am so sorry Clementine, this is all my fault, everything." She says and looks back to her lap and takes a breath.
"Wait no none of this is you-."
"I was supposed to die, I am a Walker, and I am…. I am not supposed to be here, Gabe went crazy because of me… for fuck sake I ripped his arm off." She says and I look to her.
"Violet."
"I… I want to die, everything will go back to normal if I die, Sophie said so just now." She muttered and I look to her.
"Minerva." I say as I get up and open the door to see Minerva in the hall and she comes in as she saw the panic on my face. She heads over to Violet who was holding her hands to her face, and I go over to her and remove her hands and she looks to me sadly.
"Tell Minerva what you just said." I tell her and she shakes her head.
"No, she knows, that's Sophie." She says and I look to Minerva who looked to Violet.
"No Sophie is dead, Violet you know this." She says and she looked up to her.
"No… you're lying, you are Sophie." She says and grabs the dagger to her side, and I grabbed her arm as she tried to go after Minerva.
"GET AWAY!" She yelled as I pulled her back more and Minerva grabbed the dagger.
"FUCK YOU!" Violet yells as Minerva grabbed something and blows it in Violet's face making her pass out. I look to Minerva who was as freaked out as I was.
"What happened?' I asked scared.
"Something… something is messing with her I… I don't know what I have to." She says and stops talking as she looked to me.
"We might need to get Ruby and Brody here." She says and I nod as I go and ask the servants to get the two. I went back to Violet and rubbed her head with a wet cloth trying to keep her cooled. She would shift in her sleep here and there and I sighed as I looked to her as the door opened, I looked up to see Ruby, Brody, Louis, Duck, and even Sarah come in.
"Sorry I think we would have needed them as well." Minerva says and I nod as I look back to Violet.
"What happened?" Ruby asked as she came over to me.
"I…." I tried to explain but I didn't know what to say.
"Violet has been seeing my dead sister, and she has apparently been telling Violet that she wasn't meant to be alive anymore that she was supposed to die in Crawford, Violet thought that I was her and she tried to stab me but Clementine held her back so I could give her a sleep powder, she might be out of it for a few hours." Minerva explained and Ruby nods as Minerva hands her the powder and she looked to it and sighs.
"So, she's basically gone mad?" Louis asked and I looked to him sadly.
"Don't say that… she's been through enough." I say and wipe her head gently as Ruby looked at her wound and nods a bit and I look t her.
"She's ok, though mentally I will have to talk to her when she wakes up, the only thing we can do is wait." She says and I nod sadly as I looked to Violet again and tried to keep her cool.
"What is going on exactly?" Louis asked and I look to Minerva, and she sighs a bit.
"I… I am the reason Violet is a walker, and I messed up on the spell when Gabe wanted to cut her to prove he was right… Violet has been seeing images of my dead sister who keeps telling her that she was supposed to die… I think someone is messing with her head because my sister never studied how to talk through the world of the dead, she was more life-based magic, nature and stuff." Minerva mutters.
"She went and fought Gabe so she could save Duck and the others but… she went crazy… after she tore Gabe's arm off, she came after me and blamed me for letting him go but they can't die in Crawford, the grounds are… tainted." I simply say.
"Gabe has gone crazy too, he was talking to himself a lot freaking us out…. Said something about his dad, and The New Frontier Kingdom, just anything and everything." Sarah says and I look to them, and I nod.
"I remember that Crawford had lots of crazy people there… you think that has anything to do with what is happening to them?" Duck asked and I shrugged as I looked to Violet and moved her hair out of her face.
"I just want her to get better." I tell them and I took a breath and looked up to them.
"Fuck." I hear and look to Violet as she kept her eyes closed and moved a bit in her sleep and I wipe her head again gently as she relaxed a bit, and her breathing went back to normal. A few hours passed before I saw Violet open her eyes a bit and I smile at her as she smiles back at me.
"Hey." She says and I nod.
"Hey… um… Ruby and the others are here." I say and she just looked to me before Ruby came over, she then looked to Ruby and nods a bit but then looks back to me a bit confused.
"What… is going on?" She asked and I look to her.
"Uh… you went a little crazy." I tell her and she nods at this.
"Ok… did I beat Gabe?" She asked, and I look to her.
"No… neither of you won the battle." I tell her.
"Hmm, Sophie talked to me… don't trust people or something." She mutters as she looked to me.
"Violet." I say and she looked to me.
"I trust you though… you're my wife… I trust you." She says quietly and I rubbed her head gently and kissed her head as she closed her eyes again.
"Hey no you got to stay up for Ruby hu?" I asked and she opens her eyes and looks to me.
"Why?" she asked.
"Well, she has to ask you some questions… just to see if you didn't hit your head is all." I lie to her, and she nods at this.
"Oh... ok." She says and I nod as everyone leaves except for Ruby and I and Violet takes a breath as she looked to me.
"Hey, you know who I am?" Ruby asked her and she smiles and nods.
"Ruby." She says and I watch her.
"Ok, now what happened at Crawford?" She asked and I look to Violet as she shut her eyes.
"I uh… I died… and a Witch brought me back… I am a Walker… I am dead." She mutters and I hold her hand a bit and she takes a breath.
"Do you remember what happened before you came here?" Ruby asked her and she nods a bit.
"Little bit… I almost hurt Clem." She says and I rubbed her head gently.
"Sorry." She muttered as she closed her eyes a bit. She fell right back to sleep, and I kept rubbing her head gently.
"Hey, I'll keep an eye on her you should go talk with the kids." Ruby says and I look to her, and I nod as I rubbed her head one last time, and I left the room and looked to the others as they looked to me.
"She passed back out before Ruby could ask more questions.' I tell them and they nod a bit.
"I found a book on Crawford, the town was filled with insane people, people with the Plague everything bad was in Crawford." Duck says as we all walk to the nurse's area, and I grabbed AJ and the nurse smiled at me a bit and I smiled back to her as Mary came up to me and we went outside for a bit.
"What else?" I asked as Mary went to get some flowers and I watched her. The servants brought us some food and drinks and I told them to bring some to Ruby and Violet as well.
"That's just it, all things bad, thieves, rapist everything, then it was burned down by a mysterious fire when they started to bring the dead back to life… that's when this happened two hundred years ago." He says and I look to him as does the others.
"So restless souls in the lands… could we get some priest to bless the lands?" Louis asked.
"No that's the thing, people have tried for years but nothing happened… and it's mostly the high knights that end up going crazy." He says and I look to him.
"So does this have to do with Minerva bringing Violet back?" I asked.
"… Maybe, I am not too sure." He says and we all sighed at this. No new information on how to help Violet. Hours would then pass, and I took the children to bed, and we hear a scream from Violet's room, and I run to the room.
"GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" Violet yelled as she was gripping her head and I hand AJ to Ruby, and I go over t Violet as she cries.
"She won't get out of my head." She cries and I rubbed her head and looked to the others worried then I looked back to her as I tried anything to get her to calm her down. When nothing worked Minerva used the sleep powder again and Violet slowly fell asleep, and I felt tears go down my eyes and I look to Minerva who looked back to me sadly. I slowly set Violet back down and Minerva gets up and I slapped her face so hard her head moved to the side, and she looked back to me.
"Clem." Ruby says.
"You…. Fucking god damn it… you did this to her… you fucking did this." I say as I glare at her. My hands in fists as I glared at her more.
"Clementine I-."
"No…. you shut your damn mouth… you…. Look at what you have done." I say to her.
"If I didn't, she would have been dead and many others." She says and I glared at her.
"I don't care…. You have caused more damage than help." I say pissed off. Violet was hurting, she was in pain, and she now has images in her head, and I can't do anything to help her, and it hurts me that I can't help her.
"Clementine." She says and I punched her this time making her fall backwards.
"You…. You hurt her… and… and I can't help her, and it hurts like hell that I can't help her, I'm supposed to help her, and I can't and it's pissing me the fuck off." I say and I feel a hand on my shoulder, and I looked to see Sarah and then I let my shoulders slump and I glare at Minerva who was holding her cheek as she looked at me from the ground.
"You…. Need to leave util you find a way to help me help her…. I don't want you back here until you do." I tell her and she gets up and nods then leaves, and I look to Violet as she slept more, and I grabbed AJ from Ruby and she nods to me.
"You all can stay in the guest rooms." I muttered and I looked to see Mary opening the door. She comes in as the others leave and she looks to Violet.
"Is Papa, ok?" She asked, and I looked to her sadly and sighed as she got in the bed with Violet, and I look to her sadly.
"I don't know… but we are trying to help Papa, ok?" I asked and she nods as she lays next to Violet, and I watch her as she sleeps with Violet. A servant had brought in AJ's basinet, and I place him in there and I think as I go and lay in the bed next to Violet as well, she seemed to have calmed down a bit in her sleep and I place my hand over hers as Mary had her hand in Violets. I was finally able to go to sleep after a while.
