4000 BC?
Walking through Mount Othrys wasn't supposed to be depressing. And now, the palace now seemed that way..
The paintings had been discarded in favor of small holes in the walls from which archers could fire through. Every luxury item had been discarded and the Kitchen had become a complete mess with monsters constantly eating their daily Monster food before we ran out. The hallways were clattered with tables and chairs.
A last defense was about to take place.
Zeus and his Cyclopes had tried an assault earlier today that we had just barely repelled. I didn't think we could stand another one.
Approximately 60 monsters and a few Titans remained inside the palace, keeping it from falling into Zeus' hands.
I was walking through the hallways, trying to find a cyclops to kill when I heard a noise inside a room I had just passed.
Very cautiously, I opened the room only to be greeted by Calypso, my half sister, experimenting with the various Godly chemicals in Kronos used for torturing his prisoners.
"What are you trying to do? Blow up the palace? Get away from that thing at once," I said to her.
She might not have noticed but she'd just been about to mix 2 chemicals that would've destroyed the entire room.
"How is the battle going?" She asked me, trying to change the subject.
I grimaced. "Bad, we've already lost a dozen monsters and the Eastern Wing."
"If things are so bad, why won't you let me fight?" Calypso asked. This time, I looked her in the eyes. She was really beautiful.
I gave off a little fake laugh. "It's too dangerous. Nobody wants to be on the battlefield when they've experienced it already."
Calypso didn't know what to say. Maybe she'd been ambushing random Cyclopses without me knowing?
"M-" I started but a huge flash erupted from my eyes. I felt myself being blasted across the room and through the walls. Chairs and tables flew everywhere. Small little pieces of wood found their way into my skin, giving me a thousand splinters.
Disoriented, I got up and stumbled towards what I thought was the room I had just been in before.
Black dust sat around the explosion's center. Apparently, the lightning bolt had managed to hit the acid right that they had exploded and added to the Damage.
I looked around for Calyspo, finding her unconscious with her back on a piece of wall that had miraculously not fallen over by now.
As I walked towards her, I suddenly felt a very hard sense of fear. I looked behind me but nobody was in sight. Somehow, this made the fear worse.
I stopped walking. Something was definitely wrong. I grabbed a sword lying on the ground and stabbed right in front of me.
Hades, Zeus' brother appeared right in front of me, wearing a helmet that seemed to emit darkness.
I stabbed Hades' stomach and Ichor flowed out of the wound.
"Did you forget? I'm immortal," He replied to my move as he impaled me with his own sword.
