!PLEASE READ!
Hey Everyone, quick Author note before anything starts. This story is currently being rewritten, so any chapters any of you had previously read commented/fav/followed were all deleted. It's taking me a while to recreate everything because I'm obviously changing things because it's been over a year since I published this story, obviously, my writing style has changed (hopefully improved) over time.
Real quick, there is obviously going to be swearing, some nudity (nothing specific jeezus, like ex: Her breasts were visible through the thin shirt and he gulped nervously.) And some sexual scenes depending on if I finish this and what the readers want (If so, I'll have to change the rating, just let me know what ya'll want. And there probably will be mentions of suicidal thoughts/attempts and just suicide in itself.
^ Above is the general TW's but if I think anything might be really triggering then I leave a note at the top of the chapter. Which I only leave at the top of the chapter if it's important.
Bye, hope you all enjoy the story -ODDBAll08
I peek my eyes open with a large yawn, a small smile on my face as I reach down, petting my fluffball of a cat, Vicious, that's laying against my thighs. I'm curled up in one of the softest blankets I own, and in my favorite (also very soft) pajamas that I don't remember putting on. Sitting up, I stretch my arms above my head, listening to the pops with a content sigh, the only thing that would make it better would be if the sun wasn't shining.
Wait- the sun shining…shining…meaning the curtains are open.
Flipping the blanket off of me with a growl, I stalk to the kitchen; my good mood is completely and utterly gone. Vanished with the first ray of sun that had decided to shine on my face. My eyes land on a piece of folded paper, and I make a beeline for it, not really caring about anything I almost trip over in my way towards it.
Unfolding it I read the (almost unreadable) handwriting, rolling my eyes, "I left after I woke up. I lovvved last night! Cya later Dollface! ;)112**3**5*❤️" Tossing the note in the trash, I turn the coffee pot on, picking up the cat toys I managed to spot on my way to the bathroom, turning on the nozzle, I strip down to my undergarments.
If I had lived in any other apartment, I might have cared who might have seen me in these clothes- well lack thereof, but luckily my windows (most of them anyway) were tinted so I could see out, but others couldn't see in, and the only way to see through it was to be on the inside.
Pouring a cup of Coffee into one of the biggest mugs I own, I hurry back to the bathroom to take a shower. Ten minutes later I'm out and attempting to tame my wild hair. I narrow my eyes at my hair through the reflection of the mirror as I once again try to tug the comb through, to no avail, and finally, put down the hairbrush; running my fingers through the tangles of white hair.
That'll have to do.
Grabbing a hair tie, I slap it on my wrist just in case. Who knows what'll happen at this new school. "Siri," I call loudly, almost obnoxiously, and my screen lights up in an answer, "Turn on my playlist," I pause for a moment before adding a quiet, "Please." at the end. 'Take You To Rio' comes on through the Bluetooth speakers I had had the landlord install for me within the first two weeks of living here, and I nod along to the familiar beat, wrestling my uniform on.
Once I'm finally down battling a rather useless battle of how to put on my tie, I roll my eyes and just toss both of the ties I had taken out back onto the bed with a huff. Walking to the kitchen, I put two pieces of toast in, and glanced back down the hall towards my dark bedroom- I had reclosed the curtains in there, and everywhere else. "Fine, fine," I mutter to myself, and go back to my bedroom, hanging up one tie where it belongs; putting the other one around my neck.
Hearing the toaster ring, I happily skip over to it, another song coming on, the music pauses as the bell rings, and I smile, yelling a casual 'It's open!' as I put butter on the pieces of toast, putting strawberry jam on one, then peach on the other.
"Hey!" Ochako, my best friend that I had reunited with after being in America for years, calls, her normally bright and cheery voice ringing through the apartment. "What's…this?" She asks, walking into the kitchen with a wallet in her hand. Shit. I hop around, tugging up my knee-length socks to procrastinate on giving her an answer.
"Oh," I say, feigning innocents towards it. I take a bite of my toast- the one with the peach jam, my favorite- and slip on my shoes before continuing, "landlord guy left it."
"Really." She says skeptically and I nod along to the music, also nodding to her question. I toss my bag onto one of the stools, and Ochako sits on another, taking a bite of the Strawberry covered piece of toast I had made for her, sending a gratefully smile my way. I nod in return- which seems to be my go-to answer this morning- and slide her travel coffee cup towards her, made just the way she likes it.
"That's strange-" Her bag falls to the ground and her eyes narrow at me- "because I saw him in the lobby, paying for a new shipment of supplies for the kitchen." Oh, I didn't know that.
"Well, you see-" These crazy raccoons broke into my house, and dug through my trash, in a desperate attempt to get some food, and while I fought them off, one of them dropped a wallet that accidentally got left here when they scattered- Bitch- No, she's not going to believe that. "Had someone over last night," I state simply, slapping my hand over my mouth as my eyes widen.
I shake my head, and turn around, nearly tripping over Vicious once again. Scowling at the furry cat, it looks as though she smirks at me before fluffing her mane-like hair, sauntering off in a very dramatic fashion that if she were human I would have called sashaying. Looking back up once again, I smile at Ochako as she hands me her bag, getting hers from the floor as I throw mine over my shoulder, grabbing my travel cup. Yelling at Siri to turn the music off, we walk out of my apartment.
"You know," Ochako says as we wait for the elevator to get to the first floor so we can walk to school. "One of these days you going to bring someone really bad hope, Yuki." I nod at the statement because frankly, I know it's true.
"I'll burn that bridge when I get to it." I chuckle, and Ochako bursts out laughing in a carefree manner.
"You know, ever since you've returned, you've been talking weird."
"How so?"
"Saying weird phrases that you picked up in America, and brought back here. I've never heard someone say 'I'll burn the bridge when I get to it before. What does it even mean?!" She states and I shrug nonchalantly.
"Look it up." She giggles again, and I smile- almost proud. It's going to be a good day.
I take it back. It's not going to be a good day. This becomes increasingly aware once I'm lifted into the air by Ochako after making a (slightly offensive) joke about her, and she uses her quirk on me, effectively making me float up into the sky, grasping onto a tree as though it's my lifeline.
Some blonde guy walks past as Ochako jogs away giggling, and I wrap my legs around the tree so I can wave widely at him. "Hey, you!" I yell, and he ignores me. Jerk. "BLONDIE!" I scream and he pauses, turning his head lazily to look at me, a stupid smirk plastered on my face as though me being stuck here is the funniest shit ever.
Just to clarify; it's not.
"What do you want, Shitty Extra." His word choice gives off that he's angry, though his tone gives away that he's only slightly inconvenienced, mostly just annoyed with me, himself, the world, who knows.
"First off, RUDE!" I yell after him as he stands back straight, taking another step forward just to test me.
"Secondly?" He sneers and walks up to the tree I was currently holding on to. Looking down at him from this high up makes me gulp involuntarily, and goosebumps immediately spread across my body like a wildfire. Bitch…That was weirdddd….
"Sec-" My voice cracks and I feel my ears heat. "Secondly!" Ah, there's my voice. "Can you help me down?" My gaze flies back to where Ochako stood against the gate, leaning her head to watch the exchange. Blondie follows my eyes and scoffs. Shoving his hands into his pockets he walks off, 'tsk'ing under his breath. "Please!?" I plead and he doesn't even look back at me.
"JERK!" I scream in an attempt to get him to stop- he looks like someone who'd stop and want to prove me wrong at those words- but he doesn't. Ochako's head disappears from the corner, most likely scampering off to class like a coward.
Eventually, someone does come outside. It only took a few minutes of me screaming really loud, channeling my inner demonic voice until someone comes over to help me. They didn't know where I was at first, considering my throat was raw and sore from screaming, and I didn't want to lose my voice on the first day, so I ended up stopping the demonic screaming.
Waving around my arms frantically, I no longer yell. At this point I was super late anyway, so why not get an escort who actually knows who I am? That's right folks, it was none other than the famous Present Mic looking around wildly to see who was responsible for screaming.
"Yamada!" I say finally and he snaps his head towards my direction, damnn boo, don't break your neck. He grins, and sprints towards me at what I can only assume is his maximum speed. I reach my hand expertly around the tree, faintly feeling the water pulsing through it for a moment before dismissing the realization as his partially gloved fingers wrapped around my waiting hand, pulling me into a crushing hug.
My legs unwrap around the tree, and I hear him sniffling. Smiling softly, I pat his back while hugging him to the best of my abilities mid-flight. He pulls back and glances over my face with a scrutinizing gaze, as though I was a complete stranger. "Yuki," It's nearly a question, so I nod in reply. If it was even possible, his grin widens, and I'm suddenly in his arms again.
He and I had both obviously talked over skype, but that was about it for the last handful of years. But quite obviously, it hadn't done either of us justice, over the call I hadn't been able to see the wrinkles that were slowly starting to form due to the stress of his hero work and what-not.
But most of all he looked…tired. Like the weight of the world was resting on his shoulders. Which made sense, being a Pro hero, and married now for god sake! Jennifer, my trainer and caregiver in America, hadn't let me come to the wedding, of course, saying that 'it would disrupt training, and I couldn't afford that unless I wanted to fall behind again'. At least she let me call and email him, I would have been crushed if I couldn't, he even started sending me pictures of Ochako once she got into UA (which I knew she would, doesn't matter that she's a self-doubting teenager.) Ochako had started hanging around with a green-haired boy- who looked as though he was in love with bandages and was always a step away from crying. Then the other guy, in the Iida family I think. I met his eldest brother in America a few years back when there was a gala-type thing that I was forced to attend for 'security'. His brother definitely spoke highly of his little brother, so he's alright I presume.
I laugh awkwardly and look down at him, "Ochako used her quick on me…I don't know how long she can hold me up but I've been stuck in the air for a while…haha," I trail off and can see the gears turning in his head, before an excited sigh escapes his lips, dashing towards the gates of the school.
I hold on tightly and he's once again yelling, "You're in the same homeroom as her! AND! You'll be able to meet Shota!" He squeals, and readjust his grip so he's holding onto my backpack strings, looking as though I'm floating lazily on my back, staring up at the sky.
"Wait- I have to-"
"You can register later, everyone on the staff knows your coming!" I nod, but he doesn't look back to see. He drags me up a few flights of stairs before stopping at a giant door labeled 1-A in big, bold letters. Jeezus, did giants come in here?
He slams open the door and all previous conversation seems to halt, even the idiotic laughter coming from the corner of the room. I look around and maneuver in the air to sit crisscross and stare at everyone. Ochako's quiet giggle echo's through the silent room and I glare at her as Yamada tugs me along towards the front of the room.
"Uravity, please let Minami-chan down to the ground," Ochako nods slightly, and touches her fingers together, muttering 'release' and I fall to the ground. I land gracefully and brush off my skirt self-consciously, despite knowing there's nothing on it. I glance over my classmates once more, and one of them can't help but stand out. No…Flippin…Way!
I glare at him and he glares back, 'tsk'ing under his breath. It's blondie. The exact one that ABANDONED ME IN A TREE EARLIER. "Blondie," I growl under my breath and Yamada looks slightly concerned before clearing his throat, putting his hand on my shoulder in a silent warning.
"Okay, Lil' Listeners! This young woman is gonna introduce herself to you all, I suggest you listen alright!?" Yamada yells and I feel the pressure in the room change, popping at my ear annoyingly. Rubbing the fragile flesh I shake my head.
"No," I say blankly and turn towards Yamada for approval, he frowns down at me and I scoff. "Names, Minami Yuki, quicks sub-zero, don't know what it is, look it up," I pause for a few seconds and look up at Yamada, "Good enough for you?"
"Sure," He replies and runs his hands down his face.
"Oh," I turn towards the tired look teacher behind me hiding his face partially behind a scarf, "Nice to finally meet the man Yamada's obsessed with," Yamada screeches loudly and tries to cover my mouth but I just step out of his range. "So, where am I sitting?"
"Right besides UA's problem child, Midoriya Izuku," He replies with a low-key freaky grin on his face, but I guess he means well by it. I nod, walking towards the green-haired guy, he smiles sheepishly and I just roll my eyes, nearly bursting out into laughter at the thermos labeled UA's Problem Child, but a quiet unladylike snort comes through anyway.
I sit down in the seat, which isn't that bad, right next to broccoli boy, next to the window, and right behind blondie, I can do anything I want to him now.
First chapter done! Hope you like it, please please please comment or really anything, it encourages me, and makes me feel so fuzzy inside. Anyway, hope you have a good day/night/ whatever, see ya next time!
