Chapter 17: Interlude 6
While Banjo and Kazooie were traversing Freezeezy Peak Gruntilda and Tooty are woken up by the morning sun. they get out of bed and go to the bathroom and strip of their sleep wear and take a 30 minute bath and using the required hygiene products once done they get out of the tub and go to the walk-in closet where Gruntilda puts on purple lacy undergarments and a silver version of the dress she wre yesterday she then dresses Tooty in yellow striped white undies and a matching training bra and has Tooty put on a green sundress and yellow mary janes that were custom made for animal feet. they go to the kitchen where Gruntilda cooks over medium eggs, bacon, pancakes and ham they eat it all and go to the library where Gruntilda says " now that you finished the book yesterday we'll be learning how to create runes." Tooty asks " how does this work?" Gruntilda says "runes are made by drawing them on objects and giving them a little of you magic to power them but you need to draw neatly or it could blow up in your face at the slightest mistake." and then Gruntilda pulls out a potted plant which has an arrangement of daisies, lilles and roses. she then says " the first rune i'll teach you is the preservation rune what this does is it finds a way to keep living things alive like these flowers for example the rune would provide the nutrients they need to surrive and all that's needed is to draw the run on the flower pot and insert a little magic." she walks Tooty through how to make the rune and tells her "now that you know how to draw the rune apply it to this flower pot and add a little of your magic once you're done." Tooty says "Okay i'll do it now." she then draws very carefully on the flower pot and once done she inserts a little magic and the flowers look a little healthier signaling she succeeded. Gruntilda says " well done it's not often that anyone can get it right the first time." she then pulls out a Tiny Kong doll and says "next up we'll learn the animation rune what this does is if applied to something like this doll it gives them a mind of their own based on who the doll looks like." she then walks Tooty through how to draw the rune and says " now that you know how the rune is made draw it on the doll and apply a little magic." Tooty carefully draws the run on Tiny's flower shirt and applies a little magic the doll comes to life and greets " hi I'm Tiny Kong nice to meet you." signaling that it was a success. Gruntilda says " well done it seems i have a budding rune mistress on my hands." it took four hours to learn the runes and it was time for lunch so Gruntilda says "let's take a break and eat lunch and then I'll find another book for you to read." they go to the kitchen and Gruntilda cooks some miso soup and they eat it all and return to the library where Gruntilda picks out a book called how to summon and bond to a phoenix she then gives the book to Tooty and says "read and memorize that and once you're done we'll learn how to summon and bond a phoenix." Tooty says "Okay i'll start now." she then reads the book for six hours and completes the book just as Gruntilda returns and says "most impressive it took me five days to read and memorize that book but i've never seen the need for a phoenix in my life." Gruntilda then says "we'll try summoning a phoenix for you to bond to tomorrow now we need to eat dinner and go to bed." Tooty says "Okay all the rune creation and reading made me tired anyway." Tooty grabs the Tiny Kong doll and they go to the kitchen and Gruntilda cooks some Jambalaya and they eat it all and go to the bedroom and strip of their clothes and dress in a new set of sleep wear Gruntilda puts on a yellow night gown while she dresses Tooty in a lavender kid's pajama's that has daisies adorned on it they get in bed and go to dreamland. while she may not know it Gruntilda will earn a phoenix of her own since her very nature has become chaotic good which is where it'll stay for the remainder of her life.
Meanwhile in a lower floor of the Lair
Banjo and Kazooie seem to have walked into a room modeled after an inactive volcanic crater and they look to their left and see the puzzle board for Gobi's Valley they step on the podium and insert 17 Jiggies which complete's the picture and Bottles says "Congratulations the entrance to Gobi's Valley is now open." they then make their way to the room with the vase in it the look to their left and see the entrance to Gobi's Valley they make their way to the entrance and enter Gobi's Valley.
AN: and so ends the sixth interlude where Gruntilda and Tooty have bonded some more as master and apprentice while Banjo and Kazooie enter the sixth of nine pocket dimensions in the lair the adventure has reached its halfway point considering there are only four worlds left and both Grunty's Furnace fun and the final battle which will be ending differently from the game.
