Summary: Luffy celebrates his first Halloween!
"Happy Hallow-what on Earth? Did you all just choose to be pirates this year?"
Michelle could only shake her head as she saw the costumes that her kids and husband were wearing. It was Halloween, so the kids were getting ready to head out for trick-or-treating. She had left Johan in charge to help the kids pick out their costumes while keeping him on budget. Now, as she stood in the living room with the camera, she now knew why it took so long to put the outfits on.
Edward wore a white and yellow pirate hat with a mustached jolly roger on it over a black bandana with black and red, both worn over his long, blond flowing hair. His costume was a long sleeved light green shirt that left his chest out, tan pants, golden bands on his arms, and a large white captain coat. A plastic bisento was on his back and a fake white mustache on his face.
Linlin wore a dark fedora with a polka dot pattern, a bandana, and a dark, polka dotted top with a captain's coat draped over her shoulders. Her costume was a a pink dress with red polka dots and white ruffles on its neckline and hemline, with a wide, rippling white cape attached to its back that falls to the ground. The costume is completed with dark blue high heels, one turquoise pearl wristband on either wrist, and golden, jeweled rings on all her fingers.
Kaido had horns on his head, prominently poking out for all to see. His costume was a blue-purple, feathered, sleeveless overcoat draped on his shoulders, and below a lavender, tight-fitting, open shirt with long sleeves. He has a black bracelet with golden spikes above each wrist. Around his waist were two thick white cords. Finally, the rest of his lower wear consists of simple, baggy pants of gray-green color, tucked below the knees into simple, black boots.
Shanks had a simple costume that was a white pinstriped shirt, a buckled shoulder belt of brown leather, an orange waist sash holding a fake green-hilted saber, and simple red shorts. On his head was his strawhat while he wore sandals on his feet. A long black captain coat was on his shoulders.
Baby Luffy even had a simple outfit of a red shirt with an anchor, blue shorts, and no shoes on his feet.
Johan smiled as he and the kids walked over. His pirate outfit was a black and white striped shirt, long baggy black pants, matching boots, and a pirate hat on his head. An eyepatch was over his right eye, a fake sword on his side, and he even wore a black and gold captain coat.
"So...I'm guessing you guys are all captains?" Michelle asked, shaking her head at her family.
Shanks grinned with pride. "You betcha mom! I'm Captain "Red Haired" Shanks of the Red Haired Pirates!"
"I'm Captain "Big Mom" Linlin!" Linlin twirled around, making her cape fly. "Because I have a big family!"
"I'm Captain "Strongest Creature" Kaido of the Beast Pirates!" Kaido pointed to his horns. "I don't need a stupid hat to prove my strength."
"I'm Whitebeard of the Whitebeard Pirates." Edward said, moving his mustache around. "I'm the world's strongest man."
Michelle pointed at Luffy, who had snatched up Shanks' hat again. "So what's Luffy's captain name?"
"Ne Luffy, stop snatching my hat!" Shanks exclaimed, finding it hard to pry the hat from the baby's hands.
"We can call him "Strawhat" Luffy!" Linlin said, giggling as Luffy put the hat on his head. "The hat suits him more than Shanks."
"It does not! He keeps taking it."
Kaido eyed the camera in Michelle's hands. "Are you going to take pictures of us?"
"Well yeah, you guys are going to cherish these memories forever. Plus, it's good blackmail for when you have kids later." Michelle stared at Johan who was bouncing Luffy in his arms. "Johan, you get in there too."
After a few pictures, Michelle decided to get her costume on. She wore a cute black cape, purple witch dress, black boots, and did her face to look creepy. When she came back down, Johan had all their candy bags handed out, each with a specific jolly roger on them.
"Wow! Our mother is a witch!" Shanks gave her a thumbs up. "Nice outfit!"
"Fits her too well..." Kaido muttered, getting a hit on the head.
"The night approaches. Let us make haste to get the candy! Gurahaha!" Edward laughed, tugging the door handle. This made Luffy squeal loudly as he was placed inside the stroller along with Zoro and his new cat plush Nami. His stroller was decorated to mimic a ship.
"Candy! Candy! Candy!" Linlin jumped up and down, drooling immensely. "I wanna eat them all!"
"Bet you I can grab more candies than you Kaido."
"You're on Shanks! Prepare to taste defeat!"
Michelle laughed as her kids fought to see who would go outside first. Part of her loved how despite what happens in their lives, they still supported one another. Luffy played in her arms, sucking on his thumb while reaching for one of her candy apples. She gave him a playful swat on the hand, shaking her head.
"You know full well that you can't eat those yet. Now let's go have some fun before Shanks or Kaido causes some trouble."
"Too late for that." Edward pointed out the window as Johan shrieked at what they saw.
Needless to say, they had a great holiday.
