"What have I done?" Ludwig said collapsing his head in his hands. He sat there in silence. Part of him hoping that Feliciano would walk back through that door. But he knew better. Feliciano was not coming back. This wasn't a movie where everything would solve itself in a few minutes, this was real life. And real life didn't work that way. Ludwig laid on his bed and stared at the ceiling. His mind racing. trying to find a way to make it up to him. But nothing seemed right to him.
After a while, Ludwig found himself staring at Feliciano's bed. His empty bed. With every sound, he looked at the door. Not once during the night did it open. Ludwig could not keep his eyes off it. Only stopping once he drifted into sleep.
The next morning Ludwig woke up early in the morning as usual. He yawned and rubbed his eyes. After a few moments, he looked over and saw the bed still empty. Untouched from the night before. Ludwig slowly reached for it before looking down. Burying his head in his hands once again.
"How could I do this?" Ludwig said to himself.
When he was tired of sitting in his bed, Ludwig started to head downstairs. As normal it appeared as no one was up. No sounds were being made in the entire house. Slowly he walked downstairs. Holding his breath and he poked his head in the living room. Unfortunately, both the couch and chair were empty. Looking down Ludwig walked into the kitchen. He sighed as he started to make himself a cup of coffee. Leaning against the wall, Ludwig stared out. Practically frozen in his spot.
"Dah Ludwig don't stare like that," Arthur said as he walked into the kitchen. Matthew following closely behind him.
"Sorry," Ludwig said quietly before taking a sip of coffee. Matthew and Arthur looked at each other awkwardly. At that moment a familiar sound came from outside. The pitter-patter of the beginning of rain. The three of them looked outside. The rain wasn't too hard but clearly more than a light shower.
"I thought it wasn't supposed to start until tomorrow," Matthew said sounding disappointed.
"Don't ever go to England then," Arthur said staring outside.
"I have no idea how everyone gets up early," Alfred said yawning. He walked over to the cabinet and pulled out a box of cereal.
"You could have gone back to sleep?" Matthew said looking at him confused.
"I don't wanna."
Ludwig sighed before refilling his cup. Alfred looked was about to say something but Arthur and Matthew both glared at him. Matthew shook his head.
"I wasn't going to bring up that," Alfred said through gritted teeth. He was quiet but Ludwig overheard him.
Before Ludwig could anything, Arthur loudly changed the subject to making plans to account for the rain. Matthew immediately hopped on to the conversation. Alfred meanwhile, probably still not fully awake, took a bit longer to fully engage with them. Ludwig reminded silent. He kept to his spot only moving to refill his coffee mug. He didn't care if anything seemed off. To him nothing was right.
"I don't even know if I can face him," Ludwig thought to himself. "I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't want to see me either."
"Morning guys," Emma said walking into the kitchen. Tezera was following behind her and checking her phone. She looked out the window.
"Told you it was raining Em," Tezera turning back towards her girlfriend.
"I was tired hon," Emma said before biting into the pastry. She looked around a little. "Feliciano not up yet?"
The other three guys shrugged to themselves. Everyone turned to Ludwig. he froze for a few moments. "He wasn't in his bed last night. At all."
"You don't think?"
"He wouldn't."
"I would have heard something from Mei by now. At least I hope."
Ludwig froze. Could Feliciano be out there? Somewhere alone by himself. Now lost in the rain. Everyone started to try to figure out where he was. Panicking and throwing out different ideas. Then Ludwig saw something. In one of the windows, he saw the porch swing move slightly. Slamming his mug down he bolted towards the door. Quickly opening it and running out. Looking over to the swing, he saw a blanket crumpled on top of it. Ludwig slowly walked over and reached out to it. As if on cue it moved to reveal a tired Feliciano. He yawned and rubbed his eyes. Ludwig started to step back. Feliciano was quick to notice Ludwig. His face was quick to change to anger. Without a word, he turned around to face away from him. Now staring at the rain.
"Did you sleep out here?" Ludwig asked concerned. Looking at Feliciano's little setup. Feliciano didn't speak or move. Just continued to stare off. Ludwig sighed before speaking. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that last night."
Feliciano glanced at him for a second. But he quickly looked away.
"I understand you don't want to talk at this moment." Ludwig turned to walk inside. "I'll leave you alone for now."
Tension could not have been higher for that day. Feliciano came in shortly after Ludwig. Still, the two did not speak. Ludwig glanced at him a few times. Feliciano didn't notice him or at the very least didn't seem to. Everyone ignored Ludwig as they conversed solely with Feliciano. Ludwig didn't mine. He deserved this and he knew it. After a while of this, Ludwig quietly walked away. No one noticed.
Ludwig walked into his room. He stood there for a minute. Silent. He looked over and Feliciano's stuff seemed to be all packed up. Bags placed in the corner. He stared at it for a moment He sighed and collapsed on the bed.
"How are we low on snacks already?" Alfred asked shaking a bag of chips.
"Maybe you could slow down on them?" Tezera suggested leading Alfred to laugh sarcastically.
Feliciano adjusted the blanket around him. He was starting to get bored sitting there. And he didn't really feel like going upstairs to get his sketchbook or tablet. So at the moment, it was just sitting there.
"What are you doing?" Arthur asked as Alfred held up his cell phone.
"Calling Ludwig to see where a place to get snacks is. Duh!"
Alfred called up Ludwig and stood there for a moment. Feliciano turned away and looked back out at the rain. It was coming down harder now. Feliciano sighed and leaned on the window. He could hear Alfred arguing on the phone. But he couldn't make out what they were saying nor did he care. A while later he saw Ludwig come downstairs and walk out the door. He was so quiet that Feliciano barely even noticed he went by. Despite what had gone none the night before he couldn't look away.
"Okay just run to the store and grab a few things," Ludwig sighed to himself. He started to drive off when heard a knock at his car door. Rolling his eyes he turned around and froze, Feliciano was there. Quickly Ludwig unlocked the door and Feliciano climbed in.
"If you're going do it can you just hear me out," Ludwig said before Feliciano could say anything.
"What do you mean?" Feliciano looked confused, looking at Ludwig for the first time since last night.
"End the relationship," Ludwig said with his voice starting to break.
"Well, um go-ahead," Feliciano said in a tone that confused Ludwig.
"I'm sorry for what I said last night. It was stupid and wrong." Ludwig started very firmly and soft. However, as he continued his voice started to break. "It's just I was worried for a stupid reason. And I deserved every word you said to me last night. I was acting like an entitled asshole. I overthought everything. I've been neglecting you this week. I know we're taking it slow but I was so afraid I practically acted you weren't there. You deserve better and.."
"Ludwig," Feliciano said soft cupping Ludwig's face. Wiping a few tears away that were falling from his face. "I forgive you."
"Really? But-"
"Yes. I could have been less harsh last night. I'm sorry I kind of lashed out there."
"I deserved it."
"You didn't deserve to be called an entailed asshole." Feliciano smiled. "Can we go back to be happy?"
Ludwig leaned over and hugged Feliciano tightly. "Like you had to ask."
