Chapter 4: Memento Mori
Back again with another chapter as I promised!
I read the reviews for the last chapter and I like the way I got this story planned, I'm sure you guys will like it. Trust me when I say that this story will take twist and turns. Some familiar events will happen and a lot of things will be different. I'll tell you this here this story just won't be some copy and paste of the story of DXD and Solo Leveling. I'm adding my own aspects and changing some things that will make this story more interesting.
I personally feel like if I didn't then I wouldn't be keeping this experiment interesting. I want something different, I don't want basically Sung Jin Woo to follow the DXD plot episode by episode/chapter by chapter. I believe I'm the first person to fuse the DXD and Solo Leveling universes together and I'm sure I won't be last but I'll try my best to make the story you read unforgettable!

Issie was shocked to see the screen glitch and let out a static shriek. The high pitch noise hurting his ears and had him close his eyes and hold his ears in pain. He slowly opened them to see a hologram in front of him flashing red and blue with various warning symbols around the four corners. Glaring messages were all over the screen.

Issie stared at the hologram with wide eyes.
"I'm... at my limit?" The thought alone unnerved him.
{This is exactly what I feared, I knew it was coming but I didn't know when} Entropy spoke.
Issie swiped the air in front of him hoping to clear some smoke, "What do you mean?"
{At the end of the day you are human, and humans have their limits. Regardless of how much you level up, regardless of how much stronger you get, you are still a regular human born from parents that have no connections to any mythology. I have to admit I'm impressed, a regular human with the power of a high class devil is a feat very few will ever accomplish. However, I am putting my foot down and temporarily shutting down the leveling up feature of the system. I fear what the consequences of leveling up would have on your mind and body}
Issie looked down with a somber look. "So is this the limit for me? Is this the best the Red Dragon Emperor can do? There has to be another way, an option, anything!"
{I was getting to that but there is something we need to do first}
Issie held his head up and wondered what else Entropy would want to do with this hellhole of a planet.
{Walk outside the cave for starters}, Issei made his way out the cave and walked a couple meters away. He got a good look around him or at least as good as he could get. Not even his Night Vision skill and SEN stat could see through this heavy smoke.
{Now all you have to do is hold your arm containing my gear in the air}, curious of the request but did as he was told. Entropy summoned himself, the gauntlet fitting snugly in his arm. The diamond started glowing purple and hummed causing Issie to steady himself to keep his arm in the air. A small purple orb formed from his hand and shot into the air creating a shock wave in its wake. "What did you do?" He got his answer because a few seconds later the ground started shaking.

Issei stood there taking in all the information he just read. 'How...whatever I shot in the air was the size of a grapefruit. Are you seriously telling me that a planet over three times the size of earth is going to shit because of a grapefruit!?' The power of Entropy has finally shown itself and it was terrifying. He swore he heard Ddraig whimpering, a fucking dragon, a Heavenly Dragon at that, shitting himself by the power being displayed. He was pulled from his thoughts by a bright light that resembled the sun itself as it was slowly getting closer and closer and bigger and bigger by the second. Issie couldn't hold himself up anymore and crumpled to the ground staring at the asteroid that will hit him in any minute. Of course Entropy would never let that happen so before the space rock hit, he felt himself teleporting.
He once again felt himself on his new couch. Sweat poured from his body and seeped into the couch. 'I haven't felt this way since a first met him and even then it wasn't like this. If he could effortlessly destroy a planet like that then I don't want to know what he could do if he was going all out. Note to self, don't piss off Entropy. Ever.'

{Can you stop talking like you seen the death himself and explain dragonification to Issei?}
[Oh yes...yes, forgive me. Dragonification is the process where the user is turned effectively into part or whole dragon. For your situation though we are aiming for a half dragon form. It is only accessible if you have dragon powers or a strong enough dragon that is willing to do the process. When completed the user will acquire massive amounts of power and more importantly will allow you to break the ceiling of your power. However, the success rates are horrendously low at around 0.5%-5%. Usually after the failed attempt the subjects body would be destroyed or they'll lose their sanity, but with Entropy here it is an guaranteed success you could almost call it cheating]
"Well that is a relief." Issie let out a breath of fresh air. "So when can we do it?"
[We can do it now as a matter of fact. Just go to sleep and I can begin the process]
{Before you go asleep I'm going to give you a warning. When the dragonification process is over the supernatural world will take notice of your presence because of your aura and magical power. We can try our best to avoid them, but they will come eventually so we need to proceed moving throughout the world in caution. It is impossible to know who will be friendly or who will be an enemy so I suggest you treat everyone as a hostile until further notice. We would also need to keep your identity of being the Red Dragon Emperor and you possesing two sacred gears a secret for as long as we can}
[He is right, many of my past host had this problem. Carrying me will come with its own set of advantages and disadvantages that we need to prepare for. Plenty of host in the past had many allies, enemies, rivals, and mates that was drawn in by my power]
"Well looks like there is no other choice. I've already gotten comfortable so there is no going back. I'll see you guys in a couple hours. Good luck Ddraig."

Issie felt sleep take him and slowly closed his eyes. After a while he was dozing off. If he was awake though, he would see his body flashing red and green.
Issei woke up with a groan and immediately felt an influx of power coursing through his body. He felt different, he felt new, and better than ever before.
[The process was an absolute success. Nothing went remotely wrong this has to be the easiest dragonification in history and will probably keep the title for millions of years to come. Congratulations Issie, you are now a half-human, half-dragon hybrid]
He felt slightly nauseous, "Ugh hold on give me a moment." Looking outside he saw the orange sky signifying that it was going to get dark soon. He was taken back by how the world looked now, everything was sharper, and he heard and smell things at distances that he couldn't of imagined even leveling up his SEN stat didn't give results like this. The system appeared with a new message.

"Ok that is a lot to take in so let me just go down the list and take everything from there. First things first, I'm part dragon." Going into dragon form he felt his teeth and claws sharpen, horns grow, wings burst uncomfortably out of his back, same with his tail, and his senses increases even more. He walked into his room, careful not to knock anything over with his wings, and looked into the mirror to get a good look of himself.
He had wings of a dragon, dark red scales with a black membrane. The tip of his fingers where his claws resided was also black. His long red tail was smooth and had a black barbed end to it, he did a few swings which led it getting stuck in a wall. Yanking it out he felt 2 horns jet out from his head, feeling the base where it popped through his scalp was weird. Looking into the mirror he noticed his eyes glowed a light green. His teeth were now razor sharp and jagged it reminded him of a mix of shark and vampire teeth.
He sighed and willed himself back to his human form. 'Whelp time to get to my other stuff. Let me check my stats.'

"Ok now I'm really like a dragon, I'm also interested in my duplicates." He summoned both of them. They looked exactly like him, but they weren't as detailed exactly like a shadow. 'And to think they are as strong as me. Well because they will suck up my experience by 40% then I'll only use them for emergencies. Now on to the nex-' His thoughts were interrupted by Entropy.
{Whoa easy there} he said brashly. "What did I do?"
{I already had to increase my magic to hide your new power level before and after dragonification. See we have a dilemma on our hands. I use power to hide your power and the stronger you get the more power I have to expend to hide it. Before you did your little experiment it was already noticeable but when you summoned your shadows it disrupted the balance and a huge surge of power was released and it will show like a flame in a dark room} Ddraig then spoke up and continued.
[Think of it like a radar. Entropy is currently trying to make you like a stealth aircraft to make yourself virtually invisible to the supernatural world. However like he mentioned it's not perfect because the more powerful you get the more power he uses to hide it. The power you just released will show up on any supernatural radar that are currently active]
"So I basically fucked myself..." He figured it would happen someday.
[Issie this is serious, I suggest you leave the area and fly away quickly, then after a while call your shadows again to draw attention away from the house. If anyone is coming they will be diverted to your new position, then you could hide and return home later]
"Oh well time to go." After hearing that he didn't want to stick around for any longer. Even though he was powerful he didn't want to be involved with any faction yet. Deciding on the fastest exit possible he opened his window and jumped out of it. Closing it behind him, he quickly summoned his wings and took off into the night sky.
"Flying is easier than I thought, so this is how birds feel...I like it. If it weren't for the possibility of getting caught I would fly all the time." The cool air tickling his skin and the night sky was beautiful. Flying above the clouds he looked at the wonders of space, countless stars littered the sky.
{Hey want to see where I am?}, the dragon asked. 'This has to be good.', "Sure go ahead." Coming to an abrupt stop, he released his shadows and had them face different directions, so they can find the primordial being. One shadow tapped his shoulder and pointed at the sky. A bright purple light was emitted and it flickered a couple of times before disappearing. 'So cool, I just need to wait a couple more months to go god scaring.' He smirked happy to witness a rare event.
[Issei I sense a powerful being coming!], the heavenly dragon roared in his head.
{Shit he is right, Issei get out of there}
"Aw fuck me." Doing a nose dive, he shot through the air to pick up speed and flew close to the treeline. He was looking for a hiding spot for him to take refuge in, but he didn't get a chance too even to look for one before he was struck out of the air. "AAUGH", he screamed as he felt what he thought was claws dig into his back, causing him to lose control and hit the ground hard. Quickly getting up he found himself in a clearing in a forest that he was unfamiliar with. Blood was gushing from his back and colored his shirt and hands with an ironic crimson color. Trying too collect his thoughts something slammed into the ground in front of him throwing him in the air like a rag doll. Painfully landing on the ground he knew whoever it is are leagues ahead of him. He caught a glimpse of the being in the sky and quickly used his most reliable skill.
"Observe"

[Issie be very very careful, she is one of the water dragon gods of Japan. And one of the most powerful in fact. I don't know how she found us so fast but our luck couldn't get any worse]
A tower of light beamed down from the sky, blinding Issei. Opening his eyes he saw the dragon's body glow and get smaller as it made it's descent from the sky to the ground. After the light faded away he finally got a good look at his attacker.
She had silky smooth skin that had a vibrant pale color to it. Her long white hair had a single braid that flowed to the back of her thighs that was complemented by many strands of white hair. Sticking from her head was 4 horns, two on each side with one sticking back and another one curved. She had pointed ears and white eyes that had a small white pupil. Slowly moving down he gawked at her cleavage, that was around DD, was disappointingly covered by what looked like a fur piece who's only job was to cover her private bits. Some strands of hair came down and rested on her breast which added more insult too injury. Lights in the shape of scales on her face, shoulders, and waist gave off a soft glow that made her look even more exotic. All in all she had a flawless body that even models would be jealous of.

His gawking came to an end as her faced held no look for friendly chatter. "Who are you dragon and what are you doing in Japan?" Shocked and slightly scared Issie tried to get words out but that came out was a spurting mess. "So you don't want to answer me then so be it. I'll dispose of you myself." Her claws sharpened and water magic covered her hand making it even deadlier. Like a bullet she was on top of him getting ready to deal a fatal blow. Just when Issei thought his life would come to an end he heard the voice of his partner come to his rescue.
{CHAOS CONTROL} Entropy's voice boomed.
A large light blue dome fell from the sky and hit the ground, firmly digging itself into it. Issie let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. Time seemed to stop in this dome as Kuzuryu was suspended in midair, leaves that were caught in the wind hovered, and tree leaves and branches stopped flowing. Looking at the dragon in front of him he jumped when he saw that her eyes were moving until it settled on him. Her small pupils shrunk even more when she saw he was still moving. Before anything else could happen the ground started to shake and crumple. Suddenly the ground inside the dome got slowly sucked into a black void. Issie, for some reason he would worry about later, grabbed Kuzuryu to stop her from being sucked in but it was all in vain as eventually he and every atom inside that dome was dragged into the void. Unknowingly to them a figure outside the dome looked in with interest, their red eyes glistening in the dark.
Getting yanked into the void, Issei looked around confused. He initially thought he was going to end up in an empty void but the bright ball of light and the surrounding planets made it clear where he was at. Realizing where he was he quickly took a breath and was thankful when oxygen filled his lungs. He continued floating until suddenly the ground came back together and formed a big platform for him to stand on. What really got his attention was the colossal planet that he was near. Even though Neptune didn't seem big compared to Jupiter and Saturn, it still was an unimaginable size. Getting caught in the beauty of space he didn't notice a figure speak out. "What did you do?", the dragon spoke. "How did you get us here.. in SPACE?" she raised her voice. "Listen, I don't know who you are or what you did but I'm going to find out." Issei couldn't answer her questions himself as he didn't know how he got here, but he definitely knows who. And that who spoke out from the void of space.
{I am glad that I made that barrier in time. If I was a second late you would have had your throat torn out, you are a lucky man Issei Hyoudou} Entropy chuckled from the darkness. Frightened from the voice, Kuzuryu yelled out into space "WHO ARE YOU? SHOW YOURSELF!", she yelled. A few seconds later space itself seemed to move.
{You should watch who you are raising your tone to, for you have no power to demand anything from me you little lizard} Entropy finally revealed himself causing both Issei and the dragon next to him to fall too their butts.
Entropy was big, reeeaalllly big. Issie knew that all to well but the size he took on was bigger than when he first met him if the size of the nearby gas giant was anything to go off of, but just like his first encounter all Issei could see was part of a giant head. He swore he heard Ddraig whimper inside the gear. Poor guy this is his first time meeting the actual physical form of Entropy. The eyes that he would never forget opened and beamed down on the platform he was standing on. The devilish pupil however locked on the threat at hand.
{Kuzuryu the Nine Headed Dragon god of Japan. The same dragon that demanded sacrifices from the daughters of innocent people, sometimes children, just for the hell of it. And now you dare try to strike down not only the current Red Dragon Emperor but the future savior of the universe and the ruler of the soon Shadow Monarch? Regardless of those titles I am quite fond of him and the thought of a being like you killing him angers me to no end. I should kill you already for the disrespect you've shown me} Entropy hissed out making the platform they were on shake. He continued on with a voice full of annoyance.
{This is exactly why I can't stand beings like you. Pay attention and take notes Issei, she isn't even the worst of them. I won't kill you Kuzuryu but I will teach you a lesson you will never forget} The platform they were on accelerated at tremendous speeds as the head of Entropy got smaller and smaller. The platform came to a sudden halt when Entropy's full head was visible, he then opened his massive mouth showing rows upon rows of teeth in an endless maw. From what he could only guess was the back of his throat 3 orbs the size of large asteroids appeared. The light purple orbs lit up Entropy's throat with purple light that showed endless rows of teeth, light also showers the platform they were on. The orbs flew in an erratic figure-eight pattern and made a low hum sound. It was terrifying but awesome to look at and Issei was truly mystified by what was in front of him. Kuzuryu however wasn't so lucky. Unknowingly to Issei, she was suspended in the midair, well space. Her eyes were fully white and tears poured from them. Instead of hearing a soft relaxing hum like Issei, she heard a deep bass. Her mouth was wide open dripping saliva, her arms and legs fell limply from her body like a rag doll. In her head unimaginable horrors plagued her mind.
A couple of tense minutes went by and Entropy finally closed his mouth snapping Issei out of it and making Kuzuryu fall to the ground. Issei blinked letting reality catch up with him. He turned to the dragon that was weeping. He didn't know what but seeing something so powerful, so prideful, be reduced to nothing but a sack of tears unnerved him greatly. Walking over to her, he knelt down and picked her up letting her cry in his chest.
A portal above them seemed to open up revealing the clearing they were in prior to getting sucked into space. The ground they were on was slowly rising. Right before they crossed over Entropy spoke for the last time.
{Let this be a lesson for the both of you. That there are bigger fish in the sea and unluckily one of you crossed paths with the biggest one. Take this lesson of not falling to arrogance and strive to get stronger and wiser}
Their eyes widen when Entropy narrowed in on the both of them. They were slowly losing sight of him the more they entered the portal. The last thing he said will stick with them forever.

Back in the normal world the dome disappeared and everything turned back to normal. Branches swayed on the wind, leaves fell to the ground, even the sky automatically align with the rest of the sky. Issie tried to stand but was held down by Kuzuryu. "Please" she sobbed, "Please don't leave me.."
Issie sighed and hugged her, "Don't worry I won't leave but I have to go home so would like to come with me?" He stood up and held out his hand waiting for her to accept it. She stared at it and slowly grabbed it. Issie swiftly lifted her up bridal style cause her to blush. Issie let his wings lose and flew off into the sky.
Touching down in his yard, his door opened automatically which he was thankful for. Walking into his living room he set the sleeping dragon down on his couch. Sitting on an adjacent couch he took in everything he encountered today and came to a conclusion.
"Entropy you scare the crap out of me."
[Same] Ddraig spoke.
{Well that is to be expected} the dragon sighed, {Fear is a natural reaction for all beings so no hard feelings}
"Ok while a collect myself what are we going to do with her " he pointed to the sleeping female on his couch with nothing but her fur garments to hide her privates. Well he wasn't really fond of boobs anymore, but she did have a nice ass. He chuckled, his face glowing red and steam blowing from his ears that accompanied his goofy grin.

The 3 of them weren't surprised at all by the new title, they've been around each other for so long they knew he would replace a perverted fetish with another. He figured he should pick up from where he left off before this whole ordeal. He used Observe on his Sacred Gear.

Twice Critical is a Sacred Gear that doubles the power of the user for a certain time. It is a common, recurring Dragon-type Sacred Gear.
-Grants the skill [Boost!] when active.
-Passively gives the user a dragons aura but only when activated and not as strong as the standard [Boosted Gear]
-Twice Critical Form restricts the [Boost!] skill. See [Boost!] for further details.
Special Ability:
Underestimated: Because of being seen as weak, especially on a human, the [Boosted Gear] seen in [Twice Critical] form will increase the confidence and arrogance of enemies who are aware of the Sacred Gear. This will give you the upper hand if you use it wisely and in the correct situation.
Side note: The stronger you are the stronger [Twice Critical] will become.

-Defense is drastically improved however this will be from the armor alone and not the Player

'So I'll basically become some badass knight like in anime' He finally requested the last and most interesting thing on the list.
"The Shadow Monarch Key." He remembered Entropy mention the "Shadow Monarch" before, and he noticed that ever since he started his new life the word "monarch" sounded more appealing as time goes by. Getting tired he decided to sleep in his living room. Reclining the sections of the couch he was on he took his shoes off. He'll go to the special dungeon and use his new armor in it after he settles down with his new dragon roommate. He figured taking a month or two off wouldn't hurt, plus he needs to make sure he studies the material that the school would teach. Checking in on Kuzuryu one last time he found that he was still too weak to see them, regardless the side note was what caught his attention.
