"What was that about?" Ludwig thought to himself as he laid in bed. his going back to Feliciano looking at him in that flirty way. How close they were. Especially their lips.

"Oh my god." Ludwig quickly sat up. He looked over and saw Arthur still sleeping. He sighed a little before laying back down. He rubbed his hands across his face. "He was trying to kiss me! At least he had to be. We were so close to each other and my god why did I stop it! Do I even want to kiss him? Why am I asking myself this? I just reacted to me turning him down. What is wrong with me?"

As Ludwig continued to lay in bed, he could not get his mind off Feliciano. He truly did love Feliciano. But was he ready for that? For kissing him? He could spend all day with Feliciano. Even see himself holding him all day if he could. Feliciano was special to him. How much he loved him. But there is something different about kissing him. Sure they had kissed each other on the cheek, mainly Feliciano to him. But kissing on the lips. That was a whole different thing. Movies and television shows always hyped it up as a big deal. It couldn't have been that big of a deal. Right? But then why did he feel this way?

"I think," Ludwig said to himself quietly. After a lot of thought. "I think I'm ready for this."

"Ugh I should have known it was too soon," Feliciano said as he sat on the porch. "I'm an idiot."

Feliciano sighed and walked to the front steps. He sat down on the top step and leaned back. The streets were very quiet. Only the slow, gentle breeze of the wind being heard. Streetlights dimmed the area. But they were empty. With only the occasional leaf blowing by. Feliciano's mind went back to his home. How on fall nights he would sit there listening to nature. In his first art classes, he would sketch what saw around. And when he was in his last relationship. How they would sit there for hours out there and just talk. Even in those confusing, upsetting days before he realized he was trans it gave him some comfort.

"I finally have that love again," Feliciano said as he looked up at the sky. "I love Ludwig so much. I can't lose him."

"Hey Feli," Mei said as she opened the door. Poking her head out. "It's getting late. You want to come back inside?"

"That's probably a good idea," Feliciano looked down at his chest for a brief second. "I need to take my binder off anyway."

"Is everything alright?" Mei asked as Feliciano walked inside.

"Of course," Feliciano said with an assuring smile. "Never been better."

Over the next week, that close interaction did not leave either Ludwig or Feliciano's mind. Both of them simultaneously longing for that closeness but fearing for what it could mean. There was no way for them to know what could happen. But there was one thing they did know. How much they loved each other. Through all the nerves and fear they had each other. And nothing was going to change that. Still, they couldn't help but wonder, were they ready for the next step.

"Hey Kiku," Feliciano said nervously as he looked at pictures of him and Ludwig on his phone. Kiku paused the computer game he was playing before turning around. "Is it alright if I ask you something personal?"

"How personal?" Kiku responded awkwardly. Scrunching up a little in his chair.

"Nothing too bad," Feliciano laughed a while as he rubbed the back of his head. Kiku thought about it for a moment before giving a slight nod. "When did you and Mei know you were ready to kiss each other?"

"Kiss each other?" Kiku repeated before leaning on his chair for a moment. "It was sudden. Wait did Ludwig try to kiss you?"

"No," Feliciano hesitated as he laid on his bed. "I tried to kiss him at the festival but... He wasn't ready. I thought we were."

"Do you remember when you and who you know who first?" Kiku asked hesitating with each word.

"Yeah but he just kissed me while on a date. Nothing special." Feliciano rolled onto his stomach and started looking at pictures again. "Ludwig is different. I dunno I just want this to be special. Like kissing him means we're on the next level. We're actually in a serious relationship."

"I thought you guys are pretty serious already," Kiku says as his chair started to spin a little.

"You think so?" Feliciani pondered. He swiped to the next picture on his. And he couldn't but gasp before smiling. This was a simple picture of them. Just a selfie Feliciano took of them. But it was when he took it that meant a lot to him. It was taken shortly after the two of them had made up from that fight they had shortly after they became a thing. Sure it was not something Feliciano didn't want to look back on. But remembering how he thought they were close to it all ending right there. Barely before it had even begun. But it was all resolved so quickly. Then it was like nothing even happened. To him, it meant they were meant to be together.

"Wow you're looking fancy," Alfred said leaning against the doorway.

"Um thank you," Ludwig said a little awkwardly as he adjusted his shirt sleeve a little.

"You taking your boyfriend somewhere fancy?" Alfred smirked to himself.

"Can't I just look nice for him?" Ludwig said with a small eye roll. He took a small deep breath in before thinking to himself. "If I am going to kiss him tonight, then I should look good."

"Of course you can dude," Alfred said without any hint of joking or laughter. Ludwig gave him a slight smile as he put his jacket on. Quickly grabbing his keys before heading out. "Have a fun night dude!"

"Alright I can do this," Ludwig said to himself as he sat in his car. "I can kiss Feliciano. I just have to find the perfect moment. It has to be perfect. Feliciano deserves nothing less."

As Ludwig drove his mind never left how to make it perfect. Sure it didn't have to be big like in movies. But Feliciano did deserve something special. Ludwig knew Feliciano was in a previous relationship and he was sure they had kissed before. They were serious. He also knew that that relationship didn't end well. But thinking about that was not necessary. All he needed was Feliciano and making him happy.

Soon he was in front of Feliciano's dorm. He pulled out his phone to text him but before he did he saw Feliciano walk outside. He waved excitedly on the top of the stairs. Jumping up and down a little. Ludwig couldn't help but smile at how adorable he was. Feliciano ran down the stairs, smiling the whole way down.

"Hi, babe," Feliciano said as enter got into the car. Quickly giving Ludwig a small kiss on the cheek. Beaming afterward. Ludwig smiled at him.

"I can't make a move to kiss him here." He thought to himself for a moment. "Sure he just kissed me on the cheek. We're a car. Who wants that as a first kiss?"

"I'm really excited for tonight," Feliciano said as he played with his hair a little.

"Me too," Ludwig said as he started to drive off.

The car ride went by quietly. There was music playing in the background which kept the mood up between the two. After a few minutes, Feliciano started slightly bouncing to the music. Before breaking out into a small dance. Ludwig laughed a little, causing Feliciano to slowly stop until Ludwig encouraged him to continue. Feliciano smiled before continuing. When the song ended the two of them shared a quick laugh. Feliciano reached out his hand and Ludwig gently grabbed it. Soon the two of them had made it to town and got out.

"Any particular place you want to go for dinner?" Feliciano said once the two of them got out of the car.

"I was thinking we go to that Italian place you're always talking about," Ludwig said as he leaned on his car a little.

"Babe," Feliciano said with a small chuckle and in a flirty tone. "You don't have to impress me like that."

"What I can't want to go to a place a boyfriend likes?" Ludwig said he walked around the car. Feliciano walked to be beside him. Quickly they held hands again. Ludwig gently squeezed it. Causing Feliciano to smile again.

"I can see why you love it here," Ludwig said once they got into the town square.

"Well the town is part of the reason why I chose here," Feliciano said as he spun himself around to face Ludwig. Not letting go of his boyfriend's hand. Lights that were singing from above that added a little glow to him. Ludwig looked at him in awe. Before Ludwig could make any sort of move Feliciano went back to being next to him. Ludwig frowned a little before mentally shrugging. He had all night to make his move.

Soon the two were at the restaurant. They waited for a moment before being taken to their table. It was a small table by the window. With the two of them sitting across from each other. The place was dimly lit by overhead lights. A small, fake candle in the center of the table gave extra light. A golden, romantic glow. The two were quiet for a moment. Just looking at their menus. After a few minutes, they placed their orders and got their drinks.

"Ludwig you could have gotten a beer or something," Feliciano said after a few seconds. "I don't mind."

"I know," Ludwig said before pausing. "I'm just not in the mood right now."

"That's understandable." Feliciano gave his boyfriend an assuring smile. Soon after saying that a waitress brought them a small basket of bread. and a small plate of oil. Feliciano smiled as he took a small piece of bread.

"So how has work been?" Ludwig asked after a little bit.

"It's been busy," Feliciano said as he moved his bread piece in oil a little bit. "Like really busy."

"You got a sale going on?"

"No," Feliciano said before taking a bite of his bread. "People keep trying to get the fall favors before we stop. Not to mention at least once per day some ask if our Christmas flavors are in yet."

"Christmas?" Ludwig held back a laugh. "But it's early November."

"It happens every year," Feliciano rolled his eyes. "People just don't get it. How's your job in the library going?"

"It's alright," Ludwig said before taking a sip of his water. "I think the chemistry department had another exam today so that made it busy."

"What makes you say that?"

"The tutors were booked all week and there were all the study rooms were filled. That usually means there's a big exam." Ludwig shrugged a little. "Talking to one of the tutors confirmed it."

"Wow, you must have been busy then."

"Didn't really affect me. I just put books away. Checkout books. Occasionally helping people. Tends to be a slow job. But it has to be done."

"True, without you the books would be all over the place and mess." Feliciano laughed before pausing. Placing his hand on his chin. "Then again we wouldn't have to deal with the boring classes about the Dewey decimal system."

"I have to admit those were boring at times."

"At least you got some use out of it." Feliciano laughed again. And maybe it was the atmosphere. Maybe it was the dimly lit lights that gave him that beautiful glow. Or maybe it was just how much he was in love with him. But there was something enchanting about Feliciano at that moment. Ludwig couldn't help but stare at him. This man. This man in front of him was his love. Possibly the love of his life. And there was nothing more he could want at the moment.

After Feliciano stopped laughing, he smiled for a second. Upon noticing Ludwig smiling at him. He tilted his head a little, causing Ludwig to freeze for a moment. He quickly took his water and started to take a sip from it. Quickly looking out the window. Feliciano's face fell a little.

"Beautiful night isn't it?" Ludwig said quickly after seemingly noticing his boyfriend's somber demeanor.

"Oh, it is quite lovely," Feliciano said after looking outside.

The rest of the dinner went along fine. Both of them enjoyed their meals. Though, Feliciano still couldn't help but think there was something bugging his boyfriend. Did he over step his boundary too much? Was his boyfriend that uncomfortable? No no, it couldn't be that he was overthinking again. He had to shake himself out of it a few times just to enjoy himself again. He was hoping Ludwig wasn't noticing this. He worried about him a lot. And he loved that about him.

When the two of them were done dinner, they decided to walk around town. The cool November air surrounded them. But it was just warm enough they were not freezing with it. Feliciano was tempted to lay his head on Ludwig's shoulder but decided to against. Justifying it by not wanting Ludwig to be uncomfortable. Glancing up at Ludwig he smiled at him.

After walking for a little bit, the two of the sat on a bench in the middle of the town square. They sat pretty close to each other but still had a little space. Feliciano laid his hand down in the small space while leaning on the arm of the bench. A few seconds later, Feliciano felt Ludwig gently grab his hand. Feliciano let out a small gasp as he smiled. Ludwig then slightly laughed to himself. The two of them then looked at each other. Looking into each other's eyes. Ludwig gently cupped Feliciano's face with his free hand and Feliciano was quick to respond by placing his free hand on the one cupping his face.

Could be this be the moment? Ludwig thought to himself as they sat there. Feliciano seemed so happy in this moment. But he couldn't put his finger on it. There was just something missing. It didn't feel perfect enough. Slowly he let go of Feliciano and looked away.

"D-did I do something wrong?" Feliciano asked his voice breaking more with every word.

"What?" Ludwig asked in shock. Quickly grabbing Feliciano's hands. "What made you think that?"

"Ever since the festival you've been acting strange. It has to be me right. Right?"

"You've done nothing wrong," Ludwig firmly told him. Grabbing his hands tighter. His eyes not leaving his beloved for one moment.

"Then what's going on?"

"It's that," Ludwig paused. He kept trying to speak but he couldn't get the words out. Feliciano's wide, pleading eyes not leaving Ludwig for a moment. "I've been trying to find the right moment to kiss you."

"What?" Feliciano said backing away a little. A few seconds later he started laughing.

"It's not funny," Ludwig said looking away.

"I'm sorry sweetheart," Feliciano kept holding back some laughter before speaking softly to him. "I couldn't help it. Truth is I did try to kiss you there but when you got confused I thought you weren't ready for that."

"I wasn't. I mean I am." Ludwig sighed and leaned back on the bench. "I don't know I wanted it to be perfect."

"What did you except it to be like in movie?" Feliciano laughed again, albeit slightly.

"I overthought things didn't I?" The two of them laughed together.

"So, you wanna kiss me or what?" Feliciano teased slightly. "Only if you want to of course."

Ludwig gasped a little before looking back at his boyfriend. This time smiling warmly at him. Taking a deep breath he slowly started to lean closer to him. Gently cupping Feliciano's face again and wrapping his other arm around his back. Feliciano in return gave a slight squeal before closing his eyes and puckering his lips. Ludwig did the same as he got closer until he felt Feliciano press his lips against his own. He tensed up a little before quickly relaxing. He felt Feliciano moves slightly and started to pull away only for Feliciano to pull him closer and wrap his arms around him tightly. Neither knew long they were like this but they felt like they could be there forever.

Slowly they moved away from each other. Upon opening his eyes, Ludwig saw Feliciano smiling with excitement. A few tears of joy were forming in his eyes. Ludwig couldn't help but smile. This moment couldn't have been more perfect.
