Elsa and Anna were now sitting In Anna's bedroom witch Elsa had decided to have all of her stuff moved back into her and Anna's old room, with they were in right now. "Soooo... what should we do now?" Anna asked while lying on her back and staring up at the scaling. "Hmmm... we could look at more of NaughtyCat9's stories. Hay, maybe she updated Running From the past!" The older princess exclaimed with a bright smile forming on her face.
Elsa and Anna then turned on the reading tablet-screen-thing and looked up NaughtyCat9's profile. "Ooh! Elsa, look at this! She sure does like a lot of stuff, and she a tea aged, maybe not much older then you." Anna said while beginning to read the girl's profile. "Hay everyone! I'm NaughtyCat9. Nice to meet you." Anna rolled her eyes and mumbled, "We already knew that girl," Elsa giggled at her sister's antics before they continued to read about NaughtyCat9. " I'm an average teenager who loves reading, writing, drawing, and many other things. I love Warrior Cats," Anna rolled her eyes and Elsa tried not to laugh, but she failed and Anna gave her a childish pout in response.
"Wings of Fire, Miraculous Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, Your Name, Spirited Away, A Whisker Away, Weathering With You, Pokémon, A series of Unfortunate Events, Date Line: Secrets Uncovered, Untold Stories of pThe ER, Alone, The Good Doctor, The Legend of Zelda, Naruto, Fairy Tail, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Hocous Pocus, The Secret World of Arrietty, Howls Moving Castle, How to Train Your Dragon, Monica Magica, Hitori Bochie, Elfin Lied, K-ON, Spice and Wolf, Sword Art Online, Clanadd, and many many other things." Both girls gaped in shock at the long list of things that this girl was interested in. "Wow! Just, wow!" Was all Anna could say as Elsa scrolled down and finding even more, like her favorite warrior cats, her warrior cat OC's, and even some of her story summaries. And finally, after scrolling though a lot of other stuff, they finally came upon her story list. And yup, sure enough, Running From The Past had two new chapters. It had only had 2 chapters when Elsa and Anna had first read it.
"Here go's ready to read chapter 3 together?" Elsa asked and Anna nodded with a bright smile on her face. "You can read first, awls. Then I'll go after you," Anna said and Elsa began to read. "Wait, Elsa, look! There's more of Chapter 2, come on, let's read it!" Elsa nodded and went back to chapter 2. "Ok, here we go, for real this time." She said before taking a deep breath and preparing herself. "Starlingpaw was awoken early that morning by the sound of Firestar calling for a Clan meeting." Elsa and Anna both gaped in shock, it still surprised them how well-written this was, it amazed them to no end. After a few more seconds of awkward staring, Elsa continued to read. "She quickly stumbled to her paws as she followed Cinderpelt out into the clearing and up to the base of Highrock, where Firestar sat looking down at her and Cinderpelt. "All cats old enough to catch their own pray gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting." Elsa bursted into a fit of giggles and Anna soon followed. "W-Wow! That was a pretty good imitation of Firestar!" Anna squealed with laughter and Elsa almost head butted her sister when they both sat up and had calmed down enough to start reading again. "He yowled, causing all of the gathered cats to stop there conversations. Firestar twitched his ears to listen for any unnecessary chattering. Once he was satisfied with the silence of his clanmates, Firestar began speaking again, "Noble cats of ThunderClan, yesterday one of our patrols found an injured apprentice close to the borders of our territory." Firestar mewed, pausing to let the new information sink in, then he continued speaking, "Starlingpaw, please step forward," Firestar mewed, and the sable-furred she-cat took a hesitant step forward.
"I wonder what's going to happen next?" Anna asked as the two read on. "Starlingpaw, do you promise to listen to your mentor and uphold the warrior code?" He asked, staring at the sable-furred apprentice. Starlingpaw nodded. "Yes," she mewed, her fur fluffed up in anticipation. Firestar smiled.
"Yay! She's going to be a medicine cat!" Anna cheered happily, Elsa laughed and shook her head with a fond smile on her face. "Well a medicine cat apprentice," Elsa reminded her. "Then, until you receive your full medicine cat name, you shall be known as Starlingpaw." Firestar mewed proudly. "Cinderpelt, please step forward." Firestar meowed, and the dark gray medicine cat stepped forward, sitting at the base of the Highrock as she stared up at her leader. "Cinderpelt, you have worked hard to learn the ways of a medicine cat, and helping to heal your injured clanmates." Firestar mewed, then he continued speaking after a few moments of silence. "Yellowfang has taught you well, and I trust you will pass on all she taught you to this apprentice." Firestar meowed, and Cinderpelt bent down to touch noses with Starlingpaw.
"Yay! Good for Cinderpelt and Starlingpaw!" Anna exclaimed with a bright smile on her face and Elsa returned the look. "Starlingpaw! Starlingpaw! Starlingpaw!" Yowls of excitement rang out from the crowd of cats as Starlingpaw went to sit beside her mentor. She felt overwhelming excitement build up inside of her as she stared up at Cinderpelt. "I promise to teach Starlingpaw everything I know," she mewed, glancing up at Firestar and back at her newly named apprentice. Starlingpaw felt she might burst with happiness. I'm finally an apprentice! She thought, and padded over to the medicine den to start her training.
"Good luck you two," Firestar mewed after them, as they entered the medicine den. "Thanks, Firestar." Cinderpelt mewed, turning to look up at her former mentore with wide eyes. "Hay, Cinderpelt? Aren't we going to start my training now?" Both Cinderpelt and Firestar turned to see Starlingpaw poking her head out of the entrance of the medicine den, with a pile of herbs in her jaws. "Oh, my StarClan! This is a lot of herbs," the sable apprentice mewed, staring up at Cinderpelt, who was still talking with Firestar.
Cinderpelt blinked in surprise when she saw Starlingpaw in the entrance of the medicine den, with a mouthful of herbs in her jaws. "These herbs are Marigold, Comfrey and Yarrow," Starlingpaw said in between the herbs in her jaws, and Cinderpelt turned to stare at Firestar with wide-eyed surprise. "Wow! Your pretty smart, Starlingpaw." Firestar praised, staring down at Starlingpaw, who blushed at the praise as she lowered her head as far as possible with herbs in her jaws.
"Ooh! Now we're gonna learn about herbs! Yay! I can't wait!"
"Well then come on! Let's keep reading! And go Starlingpaw!"
"Comfrey is good for broken bones," Starlingpaw mewed, pointing to a leafy green plant with purple flowers. Cinderpelt nodded approvingly. The two cats were going over what Starlingpaw had learned that day.
"And this?" She asked, jabbing a small white flower with an overwhelmingly strong scent. Starlingpaw frowned and tried to remember.
"Yarrow, good for... sore throats?" She asked tentatively. Cinderpelt shook her head.
"Aw, poor Starlingpaw. She was doing so well, I hope she doesn't work herself to hard. She can't be like papa!"
"You're right that it's yarrow, but it's used to make cats vomit if they have stomach troubles. But what is good for sore throats?" She asked, sitting down and tucking her gray paws under her fluffy dark gray tail. Starlingpaw searched the herb stores and frowned.
"Honey is good, but I don't see any here," she mewed sadly. Cinderpelt sighed.
"We're going to have to ask one of the warriors to get it," she meowed tiredly. Starlingpaw cocked her head to the side. She felt frustrated at her now.
"Why can't you go get the honey?" She asked, fluffing up her black fur, her amber eyes slitting. Cinderpelt rolled her light blue eyes.
"Because I don't want to get stung, but most importantly, I don't want to put to much pressure on my leg," Cinderpelt explained, and Starlingpaw nodded in understanding. She understood why Cinderpelt couldn't get the honey, she didn't want to damage her leg anymore then it already was.
Stupid kit! Starlingpaw heard her mutter under her breath, and the fluffy gray she-cat turned around to sort herbs. Starlingpaw whirled around.
"Excuse me?!" She growled, unsheathing her sharp claws. She was prepared for a fight, but instead Cinderpelt turned around, her blue eyes wide.
"Hm?" She asked, looking a little dazed at Starlingpaw's battle-ready expression. She hissed at her.
"Why did you call me a stupid kit?! I'm an apprentice! Besides why can't you risk your own sorry fur to get some stupid honey?!"
Cinderpelt's blue eyes opened wide. She almost looked scared, which was silly, as Starlingpaw was a six-moon-old apprentice with no battle training whatsoever.
How did she hear what I was thinking? She asked herself, but her mouth didn't move. Starlingpaw was shocked.
"H-How did you do that?" She asked stuttering. She didn't know if Cinderpelt had a few tricks up her fur, or if she was just going crazy, but Cinderpelt looked genuinely bewildered.
"I didn't say anything…" she mewed quietly. "Did I?" She then asked quickly, her fur fluffing out.
A breeze blew through the den at that moment, rustling the carefully stacked herbs, carrying them and making them dance in the wind. Starlingpaw hurriedly sprung up out of reflexe and snatched the leaves out of the air. She then realized that Cinderpelt was still waiting for her response, and she mewed a quick and quiet response.
"Um, nothing. You didn't say anything, it must've been the wind."
She could tell that Cinderpelt didn't quite believe her, but that was okay. She didn't quite believe herself either.
"I-I'm going to get some air," she meowed, mostly to herself, as Cinderpelt was busy sorting herbs into the many holes and crevices in the den wall. Cinderpelt waved a paw.
"It's okay, you've been working hard. It's sundown, go share tongues with your clanmates." She meowed. Starlingpaw dipped her head politely and dashed out of the den.
"Woah! Can Starlingpaw read minds?" Anna asked while turning to state at Elsa with wide eyes. Elsa just shrugged her shoulders in response. "I'm not sure, but that sounds amazing! I wish we could read mama and papa's minds," Elsa remarked with a small laugh and a shake of her head.
She stepped outside, and she saw Cherrycloud and Frostwind chatting near the entrance of the warriors den, both cats flopped down in the pinkish sundown light.
It was evening, and by now most of ThunderClan was settled down, sharing freshly caught prey, grooming each other and sharing the latest gossip. Tawnykit and Hollykit were parked directly in front of the elders den, listening to Batbounce, Blizzardsnow, and Shimmerwing talk about the days when they were warriors, young and strong.
"Yes, I do love what Tulipcloud's done with her fur!" Starlingpaw heard Cherrycloud exclaim to Frostwind. Starlingpaw walked over to the fresh-kill pile to choose a fat red robin.
"Hay, Starlingpaw. Come over here!" The sable-furred apprentice turned to see two young apprentices motioning for her to come and join them. "So, Starlingpaw, tell us, how did your training with Cinderpelt go? And what made you decide to become Cinderpelt's apprentice?"
The cat who had spoken was a small auburn she-cat with dark orange accents and bright blue eyes, and there were three other cats next to her. The second was a small black-and-white she-cat with dark ginger stripes and warm amber eyes, the third was a small dark tortoiseshell she-cat with black markings, light brown paws, and warm amber eyes and the forth cat was a small pretty black-and-white dappled she-cat with pale blue paws, auburn-colored markings and strange crimson red eyes.
Starlingpaw replied with a small smile. "It went pretty well, but I still have a lot to learn. It's really fun to learn about herbs and what they do to help a sick or injured cat."
"Oh, and I never got your names…" the sable apprentice mewed with a tilt of her head and an amused smile on her face. The auburn she-cat nodded with a sheepish smile.
"Oh… I'm so sorry… where are my manners? The name's Kestrelpaw, and these are my friends. Swiftpaw, Spottedpaw, and Cleverpaw."
"And I'm Icepaw," came a quiet voice from beside Swiftpaw. Starlingpaw turned to see a milky white she-cat with bright blue eyes.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all," Starlingpaw mewed. "Oh, and Kestrelpaw, your pelt is very pretty." Starlingpaw mewed in a friendly tone. The auburn she-cat blushed and lowered her head.
This she-cat is so nice and sweet. I wonder where she came from? She smells faintly of ShadowClan, but why?
Why is Starlingpaw staring at me? Swiftpaw mewed, annoyed. Starlingpaw was shocked.
Swiftpaw's mouth didn't move.
"Wow! So she really can read minds then?" Elsa and Anna both gasped in shock at what they had just read. "She's so lucky," Anna muttered while staring out of the window. Elsa just hummed and gave a silent nod in response.
All of a sudden, voices started twirling around her, flying into her ears, toying with her mind. And Starlingpaw tried to recognize those voices. But they were spinning too fast for her to tell.
Cloudtail barely catches any prey. It must be his kittypet instincts.
Hollykit and Tawnykit are so cute!
I wonder if I can sneak another one of those delicious rabbits?
The sunset looks so totally pretty behind those pine trees!
Fernpaw is a great fighter, but she needs to listen.
Willowpelt is getting old. I wonder why she's not in the elders den?
She spun around and around, but no cat was speaking.
No cat at all.
Her heart began to pound rapidly in her chest as she walked over to join Swiftpaw and Kestrelpaw near the shade of a tall oak tree.
"Swiftpaw, think of a cat, any cat." She meowed, her heart pounding in her chest. Swiftpaw looked at her quizzically, but mewed a random cats name.
"Okay... got it!" Starlingpaw pricked her ears up and listened.
Kestrelpaw.
Starlingpaw's heart stopped. Every nerve was on end. Can I read minds? She wondered. She stopped herself. It wasn't proven yet. She might be wrong.
"Kestrelpaw?" She asked Swiftpaw, scared of her answer. Swiftpaw's amber eyes grew wide.
"Yes, how did you know?"
"Wow! That was amazing! Can we read the next one, pleeeeeeese, Elsa?" Anna begged while giving Elsa the puppy dog eyes. Elsa sighed and shook her head with an amused smile on her face.
