Five ponies were in a kitchen at a castle. A yellow pegasus, a blue unicorn and a multicolored Alicorn were sitting at the table. In front of them were slices of a strawberry shortcake on a silver platter.
A dark green unicorn with grey spikey mane held a little filly in his hooves. He had brown eyes. The cutie mark was a pencil pointed diagonally down with the tip pointing towards his tail. A curly yellow line came out of the tip of the pencil.
The foal in his hooves let out a soft yawn. She was a unicorn. The little pony had bright red eyes and orange fur. Her mane was curly like Sweetie Belle. It was gold at both ends with several shades of red going down the middle. She was estimated to be about a month old.
The Alicorn was multicolored. She had white fur, a purple horn and yellow wings! Rainbow Dash's mane and tail was equipped on the princess. Her mother conceived her while wearing the elements of harmony causing the mixed look. Freckles were all over her face and she had cyan eyes. Her cutie mark was a pink heart with orange butterfly wings and a green horn on top.
The pegasus had a light yellow coat and straight mane. At the end tips of her mane, three inches of it was purple. Her cutie mark was a chocolate chip cookie. She had light blue eyes.
A blue unicorn sat in between the pegasus and Alicorn. Her mane was mostly red with a streak of yellow on the inner layers. For a cutie mark, she had a closed clapperboard in the middle of a star. Each side of the star was a different color.
The green unicorn didn't like strawberry, so he didn't accept a bite of the dessert. The pegasus was the one to bake the treats. The Alicorn and blue unicorn used their magic to levitate a piece of the cake into their mouths. The Alicorn licked the crumbs off her lips before quickly getting a bigger bite.
"Thanks for the snacks, Cookie," the alicorn said with her mouth full.
"Yeah, it's really good," the blue unicorn added.
"Thanks, sisters," Cookie the pegasus replied.
The three weren't actually sisters. But they were so close as friends they decided to call themselves family.
"Hey, Pure Hope, I'm going to put our Ruby Gift to bed," the green unicorn said.
"Okay. It's getting late for her," the alicorn named Pure Hope said.
"Duper, are you sure that Ruby Gift will never be able to do magic," the blue unicorn asked.
"Yes, Dashie," the green unicorn named Duper Ink responded.
Duper Ink walked closer to the table. He used his left front hoof to move his daughter's, Ruby Gift, hair out of the way so Dashie the blue unicorn and Cookie could get a clear view of the horn. The horn had a crack on it! A small line in the shape of a backwards capital e was on the horn. The inside of the horn was completely hallow. Unlike Tempest whose horn was broken in half but still able to create fireworks as the inside layers was still complete.
Ruby Gift was adopted. Equestria couldn't find her true parents through multiple DNA tests. Pure Hope and Duper Ink found her and immediately accepted her as their own. Pure Hope didnt want to give birth to any ponies of her own as she was asexual.
"When Pure and I found her one rainy night, by the dumpster, the horn had a big crack in it," Duper said with a sigh.
"If she were to ever use magic, all her stored up magic will release all at once. She could die due to the overload! So we're not going to worry about fixing the horn," Pure Hope explained.
Duper Ink carried his daughter down the hall. He went into the second room on the left. Flickering on the lights, the father unicorn turned to the wooden crib that was against the wall. Duper Ink gently placed his adopted fully into her crib. Using magic the green unicorn covered her up with a small light blue blanket with brown squares on it.
A plush of Zoe Trent was poking out from underneath the cot. The gold collar and black beret was sewed onto the doll. Duper grabbed it and threw the stuffed purple Charles Spaniel from Littlest Pet Shop into the cot. Next to Ruby's crib was a small black table. Pepper Clark the skunk and Bev Gilturtle plushies were sitting on the table.
Duper walked over to the other side of the room. A small three shelved wooden case. Seven books were on each shelf. All twenty-one books were created by Duper Ink.
Duper Ink was an author. Every unicorn had a special spell only they could do. His trait was to zap a piece of paper and it would suddenly have words on it. Duper used this to write fictional stories quickly.
Ruby Gift couldn't sleep without being told a story anymore. No lullaby from her mother. No warm milk. Just a bedtime story. Pure Hope swears that the little foal was humming the lullaby that Pure used to calm Ruby down the first night they found her.
Duper grabbed a story off the shelf. He sat back down in front of Ruby's crib. Ruby seemed to be smart enough to look directly at the books during storytime. The cover had a white unicorn with straight green mane. She was levitating a bell in front on her. A solar eclipse was behind her.
"Okay, Ruby. This book is called 'Gusty the Great'. It's about an evil ram that feasts on fear," Duper Ink softly said.
Duper flipped to the first page and began reading.
Ruby Gift sneezed. A black spark suddenly came out of her horn. The spark floated around and smacked into the cover of the book. Duper Ink didn't notice his daughter's single slight use of magic.
Outside the castle, a puff of black smoke appeared near Ruby Gift's bedroom window. A loud snarl rose out from within the smoke. The smoke slowly evaporated.
In its place was a giant blue ram. The ram had a white goatee. Golden horns were in an arc like devil horns. His tail was also similar to a devil's tail. He stomped his right front black hoof on the ground a few times.
Grogar is now real!
