Two years later...
"...and we-a defeated him together!" Mario finished, ending his one of his many stories of defeating his long term rival with his brother, Luigi, mimicking said rival in his best impression of the story. The village kids applauded them for their performance.
After the defeat of Master Hand and the Polygon Army, the Smashers were stranded in Aurora's dimension. They did not have anyway home at the moment, so they decided to meet with the village people that took Aurora in. They were immediately sheltered and made the most of their days the best they could.
Aurora even learned about their background. She heard how Mario defeated Bowser by knocking him into lava, Link's tale of being apart of the Triforce, and Samus' adventures of battling foes such as Mother Brain, Ridley -who slightly startled Aurora from the description of him-, and space pirates.
Donkey Kong mentioned his triumph over any enemies that invading his jungle or kidnapped his family through the art of sign language, even though he's capable of speech.
Captain Falcon was a bit boastful in Aurora's opinion with mentioning how great of a pilot he is and a bit flirtatious with Samus. Said fighter didn't care much about his skills and rather bested him at the bounty hunter parts of her stories.
Fox McCloud told his story to the thirteen about a being named Andross, his rival team named Star Wolf, and his adventures with his teammates from Star Fox. He throughly described how this one teammate named Peppy Hare tells him to do a barrel roll almost every mission, which made the listeners laugh or snicker at the mention.
Yoshi, surprisingly to Aurora and other non Super Mario universe members, talked about his adventures from being hatched and becoming a Star Child to saving his own island from Kamek the Magikoopa.
Ness explained his adventure through Eagleland to battle a threat called Gigyas, which intrigued Aurora that a child defeated such a creature.
Although they couldn't understand him, Kirby sketched out a story of his adventure. Needless to say, he had some huge wins under his belt.
Pikachu and Jigglypuff also briefly described their adventures with what seemed to be with a human from their world.
Lucian also has been accustomed to living as an orb. It first shocked the villagers but they came to understanding after listening to his transformation. Aurora still loved him for who he is regardless if he lacked a face or body. Speaking of Aurora, she discovered some new powers of her own. One day, she decided to have a practice battle to keep her skills in check with Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu.
Mario had conjure a fireball and flung it at Aurora, who sliced it in half before parrying Link's Master Sword. They break off and Kirby attempted to flat the light user with Stone. Aurora crafted a light shield above herself for protection, which succeed. Pikachu then fired a Thunder Jolt which also collided with the shield and seemingly absorbed it. Aurora felt something well up inside her and she thought it was her light energy acting up.
She thrust her hand forward to produce a Light Beam...
Only for a torrent of flames to appear instead.
Link protected himself with the Hylian Shield, the flames being blocked. Aurora stood there, shocked at the fact she could manipulate fire now. She didn't have time to waste though, since Mario jumped above her and planned on stomping her...
But his descent was interrupted when Aurora conjured an Earth-erected barrier as she tried to block with her staff. Mario's shoes hit the barrier and gave Jumpman pain. The Earth had apparently been rather harder than he anticipated.
Snickering at Mario's reaction, Aurora steeled her and turned her attention to Kirby who pulled out a hammer for Hammer Flip. The Star Warrior swung at her barrier, which shattered this, and Aurora thrust her hand out again, trying to use her Light Beam...
But sent a stream of water instead.
The torrent blasted Kirby backwards to Pikachu, who used Quick Attack to avoid. The Mouse Pokémon went for a Thunder, to strike the woman down but was meet with an strong breeze that sent the mouse back.
Their training came to a pause, pondering how Aurora could manipulate the four core elements.
Over the next few years, the thirteen Smashers noticed how Aurora was capable of manipulating more than the four elements. She could now send electricity like Pikachu, control nature at her fingertips, and even turn water into ice. She even learned to combine two elements, like fire and earth into magma or water and fire into steam.
But all in all, everything was going great for the village, the Smashers, and Aurora...
But all good things must come to an end.
Link was doing some exploring for himself. He had grown quite accustomed to appreciating nature and not having to fight for survival often. The Hylian was doing a weekly nature walk when he came across something...

He saw a fallen figure, struggling to get up. His hero instincts came into play and made his way over. He noticed the figure seemed like a boy with...
A green tunic and hat much like his.
Link would have questioned it, if he wasn't friends with a woman in futuristic armor and a pink puffball who was defeated gods and still a child.
"Hey, can you hear me?" Link asked, wanting to know if the boy was still conscious. Getting a groan from the boy gave him affirmation he was alright. Observing the attire the boy had, Link noticed how he is Hylian much like himself. The boy had a wooden sword and shield.
Link questioned why those weapons looked familiar to him. Then it hit him...
It's was the Kokri Sword and Shield that used to wield before the Master Sword and Hylian Shield.
Who was this boy and why did he have his old weapons from when he was a child? If Link didn't know any better, it was like he was looking at a younger version of himself...
"Please, do not tell me we are lost," a blue haired swordsman asked his human acquaintance.
"How should I know? I have never been here in my life!" Was the answer from his red haired ally.
"Well, isn't this a spectacle. We are lost in a foreign land with these creatures, who may or may not be native," the blue haired swordsman gestured to the two other creatures. A flat black with an outline being and a small light yellow mouse.
"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP."
"Pi?"
The blue haired swordsman let out a groan, "How are we supposed to find our way around here..."
"Hey! I see a village up ahead!"
The Altean prince turned to where the young Lion had mentioned the area. Perhaps the locals could tell them where they were...
"So, you just saw these two climbing a mountain, Fox?" Aurora questioned as she met in the house where the Smashers stayed.
"Yep, said their names were Nana and Popo. Nana is the pink and Popo is the blue," the vulpine pilot said as the two mountaineers were playing along with Kirby, Pikachu, Ness, and Jigglypuff in the village.
"Hmmmm... this seems weird, not as weird as the boy Link found in the forest that resembles him in the most weirdest way, but still up there," Aurora said.
"Think they might be like us? Like Smasher material?" Falcon thought aloud.
"It's a possibility, I have been sensing some disturbances across the land but I thought it was just a weird feeling," Lucian concurred.
"Hey, guys," Samus walked in, "I picked up four signatures coming our way."
"Lucian?" Mario asked.
"Yes, I can sense them. Though one feels... 2D correct?" Lucian inquired. He, like the rest of the village, was not used to technology that the space Smash fighters have used.
"How-a does one feel-a 2D?" Luigi asked.
"We can worry about that later. Right now, let's check on the four signatures coming our way. Be on guard," Aurora suggested.
The gathered Smashers nodded and prepared themselves.
"So, you were 'warped' here as well?" The blue haired swordsman asked.
"Well-a sort of handpicked by an entity that tried to invade our-a dimensions but yes, warped would be the correct word," Mario implied.
"Interesting, and the two rodents. They are called Pokémon, correct?" The red haired swordsman questioned.
"That's correct," Link added.
"And the reptilian creature and large simian are not."
Donkey Kong and Yoshi nodded.
Over the time they had arrived at the village, the swordsmen had introduced themselves to the menagerie of beings. The blue haired man referred to himself as Marth, a prince from where he comes from, and the red haired as Roy. Both wield swords that seemed to coming from an ancestor or divine powers.
"So, what is with this flat being?" Marth asked.
"Not sure what his story is... or even if it is a 'he' to begin with," Samus said, scanning the monochromatic character.
"BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP."
"Hang on, Morris code," Samus inquired before translating. "Got it, calls him Mr. Game and Watch."
"So, what is there a Mrs. Game and Watch?" Captain Falcon quipped, the present Smashers rolled their eyes at the joke while the newcomers were confused. Having lived with him for two years, the F-Zero racer's jokes had gotten quite annoying.
Fox's ears began to shift around, hearing something...
Something familiar
ZOOM!
The characters looked up and saw a familiar aircraft fly across the sky. It was an Arwing? Fox had mentioned only he had an Arwing so what was another one doing here?
"Fox, is that you?"
The Star Fox commander's eyes widen at the voice. "F-fa-Falco?"
The Arwing descended outside the village and revealed its occupants: the first was blue humanoid falcon with a gray vest, red pants, and combat boots. The second shocked two certain brothers.
A duplicate of Mario... but with a lab coat? And a doctor from the looks of it.
"Mama mia!" The two Marios shouted at their appearance.
"Falco/Fox! Good to see ya!" the two space animals said, going for a bro hug.
"So, this is where you have been?" The again questioned. Fox sheepishly rubbed his head, "Yeah, it's kinda hard to explain..."
Falco nodded, "And I have some points that you might what to see."
After everyone introduced themselves, the gathered heroes listened to what the Falco had to say.
"Okay, I'm new to this place, but I'm pretty sure that you natives are not supposed to be purple and have lines on your bodies correct?"
This puzzled Aurora and Lucian. Being the natives -at least the latter- they knew that purple beings weren't a thing. Unless...
No. The two shook their heads in disbelief. They had slayed many of those purple spore beings but the lines design was new.
After getting nods, Falco commented, "Good. Because I got some evidence you might what to see."
Falco pulled out a recording device and placed it on the table. Those not used to technology this advance or in general surprised them at the video being played.
The video showed two purple beings, one having the body form of Captain Falcon and the other having a more feminine aspect. They had lines that resemble like grids. And they were being led...
By three creatures.
One was a turtle like creature with a spiky shell. He had red hair and yellow scales with some black chains along his arms. Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi all glared at this figure.
Another resembled a warlock. He had red hair and an ornate armor in some way. Link clenched his fists in anger. And the younger doppelgänger, having been better, stared with anger.
The last figure was probably the most odd. It was a humanoid cat figure with a large purple tail and was white skin. Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Pichu were in shock at seeing this creature.
"Bowser..."
"Ganondorf..."
"Pika!/Jiggly!/Pi!"
"I take it you guys are not on good standards with them," Falco inquired, "but that's not all."
The purple beings were moving a cage with two trophies inside of them. Both looked like princesses, one with blonde hair and in a pink dress while the other had purple dress and long brown hair. The Mario brothers and Links looked in shocked at the image.
Aurora, the Smashers, and their new friends landed on the same field that they battle the appendage two years ago. Her eyes shined with a luminous glow at the two defeated villains. It turns out the humanoid cat -Mewtwo- was under mind control by Master Hand. And been beaten by a combined Lightning bolt from Pikachu and Aurora, the Genetic Pokémon was free from his mind control. In return, he aided them in saving the two princesses who were known as Peach and Zelda.
"Mwahahahaha!" Master Hand laughed and reappeared before the twenty five -Lucian was absent, due to being an orb of Light with no use of his abilities- fighters. He snapped himself and an unnerving deranged laughter soon followed after. The laughter came from a second hand, much like Master Hand but more erratic movements among it.
Both appendages began to conjure dark magic from the looks of it and shot it towards the two fallen trophies.
The two trophies began to reanimate themselves into something inhuman...
Bowser's size grew and his appearance was more monstrous than before. Ganondorf grew in size as well, became more boar like with his appearance and drew two large swords. They let out two different roars but their eyes full of hate and darkness.
Giga Bowser and Ganon stared down the Smashers and allies before they charged at each other with full might...
Master and Crazy Hand were sent exploding and cheers were heard. Aurora looked proud of herself, having dealt the finishing blow. Bowser and Ganondorf snuck away during the celebration but no one paid that to attention. Peach had given a kiss to the Mario brothers and the newly dubbed Doctor Mario for their heroics. A white garbed ninja with a blue stealth outfit who went by the name of Sheik reverted back into her true form as Princess Zelda, shocking the adult Link while confusing the younger Link. The Pokémon cheered with the Legendary Pokémon, who had a small smile on its face.
Aurora was glad they were able to beat the hands again...
But something told her this was far from over.
"Hmph! We could have easily won without the help of those appendages," Ganondorf snorted.
"It's like I always say, 'if you want something right, do it yourself,'" Bowser quoted.
"I highly doubt that a creature like you would say that, considering you always have help at your side," the wielder of the Triforce of Power countered.
"Deal with it Ganon-dork! Besides, last time I checked you have allies of your own. Followers if I may," the Koopa King replied.
Ganondorf rolled his eyes. He was stuck in this land with this beast until he could find a way off it.
"It's unfair..." a voice echoed that caught the two villains attention, "is it not?"
"Who does speak to the Demon King?!"
"Someone that can help..."
"Oh yeah?! Then why can't we see you!"
"I am contacting you from my new domain..."
"...Your that appendage aren't you..."
"That is correct..."
"Well, it seems you forgot that your previous plan failed!"
"An unfortunate set back. I now have a new army for you to control."
"Please. Your persuasion won't work this time."
"Perhaps, I can give you what desire. Kingdoms, destruction of enemies, what you truly yearn for."
This peaked the villains interest.
"...What's the catch?" Bowser asked.
"Capture every Smasher that still lives here. I will need time to gather the proper resources for the weapons I have in mind."
Master Hand severed his connection and grunted in pain. "It won't work."
"Please. With them thinking you are in charge, they will go along with every detail. Along with a few others I have my eyes on."
Master Hand grunted in pain as the chains that bounded him turned him to his new master.
"And soon, my Great Maze will be complete," Tabuu informed the god.
