DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': You've been reading writing a lot of books lately. Have you been bored lately? Or perhaps, inspired?
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': A bit of both… mainly the former.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Yeah, being stuck in a place where there is only limited technology is quite boring. No computers, no phones, no TV, no video games, it's just… books for entertainment. Although, I'm sure our readers are wondering what's been going on with us due to the slow updates lately.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': Well we do have all of that in our little sanctum.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Both of us have been pretty focused on something else lately, mostly on this unpublished fanfic. Inspiration and motivation for our published fanfictions are pretty low right now. *Starts eating a giant sunflower seed* Perhaps that's what happens when your interests are on something else.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': I could see that. *Starts petting Hamsuke's head*
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': We will try to get more motivated with this and Child of Mew again soon, just try to be a little more patient with us, readers. Maybe you can look forward to the fanfiction we've been writing so much of lately at some point.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': It's pretty spectacular. We have a thousand pages at least on it so far.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': It hasn't even been a month yet since we started on it. Heh, we were that inspired. But for now, we will let you get into the chapter. Hope you guys enjoy~
Chapter 61: Helping A Friend
Danny and I were standing just outside of the opera house. It had been a few days since the fitness test and a couple of weeks since I had faced off against Scarlet. I had hoped that the two weeks were enough time for Scarlet to get settled in.
Going off that hope, I decided I would try to introduce Danny to Scarlet. If all went well, they wouldn't end up clashing and would get along just fine. But… if they did end up fighting… I know that Danny would end up getting really hurt, especially if Scarlet went all out.
"Danny, I was serious when I said Scarlet is not a ghost you want to mess with," I warned my brother. "I know you said you wanted to challenge yourself more, but I rather you didn't cause trouble on purpose. I know you're better than that."
Danny stopped and looked at me and my expression before he let out a sigh. After a few seconds, he said, "Fine, I promise I won't start a fight until at least the second time we see each other."
"Danny!" I yelled, feeling exasperated.
"I'm joking Andy!" Danny quickly said, holding his arms up in surrender. "I'm not that into fighting anyways."
"Just keep it that way, and no jokes with Scarlet. She might take you seriously," I grumbled.
I started to have second thoughts as I reached for the opera house doors, I began thinking of everything that could go wrong. Unfortunately, a lot of things could go wrong.
What good is having future visions if I can't see how this will go? I sighed before I knocked on one of the doors to the opera house, not wanting Scarlet to greet me with her spear.
I looked down at my feet, thinking to myself. I've already knocked on the door, but maybe it's not too late to back out of this…
I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I turned back to Danny to see he was giving me a reassuring smile.
"It'll be okay, bro. Don't overthink it like you always do," Danny said softly.
I nodded to him, feeling a little more confident now. I turned back to the door I knocked on, seeing it was slowly opening.
"Who goes there?" A familiar gruff voice, which was the fake voice that Scarlet used when I first met her, asked from the partially opened door.
I cleared my throat and said, "It's Andy. Uh… we met-"
Before I could finish my sentence, an armored arm came out and grabbed me before pulling me inside. Next thing I knew I was being crushed in a suffocating bear hug.
"Welcome, Andy! I was wondering when we would be seeing you again!" Scarlet said, using her normal voice as she slowly squeezed the air out of my lungs.
"Crushing… me… can… hardly… breathe…!" I wheezed out as I was being crushed.
"Scarlet, let Andy go before you make him a full ghost!" Juliette worriedly said from somewhere behind Scarlet.
Scarlet quickly let me go and I fell to the floor on my butt.
"Ow…" I groaned. Even when she's not trying to kill me, she's trying to kill me…
"Sorry, Andy, sometimes I forget about my own strength," Scarlet said in a cheerful tone. "So what brings you here today?"
I managed to get back on my feet and said, "Uh well, I thought maybe I could introduce you to someone today." She is really different from how she was when I met her.
"Oh? Are they a friend of yours?" Scarlet excitedly asked.
"Yeah, we're the best of friends," I said with a smile. "You can come in, Danny."
"Oh, you brought Danny?" Juliette asked as she walked up next to Scarlet.
"Yeah, he brought me," Danny answered as he walked in.
"You have a… duplicate?" Scarlet asked with a raised brow. "Are they your clone? Or did you split yourself off into two, Andy?"
I almost wanted to laugh. Usually everyone would call me the clone instead. "No, he's not a clone. We're twins, you know, identical siblings?"
"I have heard of identical siblings before," Scarlet said with a nod. "Our kingdom's Royal Mage always spoke of how there were certain beings born with natural magic and these beings were usually born with an identical sibling or another sibling at the same time. They spoke of how the more identical the siblings, the more powerful their natural magic."
"Aww, too bad there's no magic in this day and age, that would've been awesome," Danny sighed.
"Oh, silly child, of course there is magic in this time." Scarlet laughed. "It's just that humans have forgotten how to use it and have almost completely forgotten about it altogether."
Danny smiled at her and said, "You must be Scarlet, the white knight my brother told me about. I'm Danny Fenton, it's nice to meet you."
"Well met, Danny, I am indeed Scarlet, the holy white knight," Scarlet regally introduced herself.
I walked over to Juliette and whispered, "Scarlet seems different than when I met her. She was so serious and on edge, but now she looks so cheerful and… carefree."
"This is how she actually used to act when we were both still alive," Juliette responded quietly. "She only really gets serious when there is a possible threat. I guess, since for 1400 years her life was dedicated to fighting, she put herself into a permanent state of readiness."
"That's kind of sad," I said with a sigh. "But it's refreshing to see a cheerier side to her."
"So I hear you and your brother battle against the beasts that infest this town as well?" Scarlet asked Danny.
"Yeah, it's kind of become our job," Danny chuckled sheepishly. "We want to keep our hometown safe after all."
"I see, and how many of them have you vanquished?" Scarlet asked in response.
Danny rubbed the back of his head before he said, "I'm not sure. I was never good with math and I didn't keep count."
"Actually, no, they have vanquished none, Scarlet," Juliette corrected before she looked at Danny. "By vanquished, Scarlet meant kill."
Danny's eyes widened before he said, "Oh no, we don't permanently destroy a ghost. We catch them and then send them back into the Ghost Zone."
"So you are more like… what is the term… wildlife control?" Scarlet asked. "Except for the fact that the wild beasts you are after are no longer living."
"Uh yeah, I guess you can see it like that," Danny said.
"You do realize the error of your ways, correct?" Scarlet asked. "By not vanquishing the beasts, you only give them the chance to come back stronger or in more numbers."
"Yeah, we know," Danny sighed. "Sometimes I've been tempted to just finish off Skulker or Technus or Ember every time they come back…"
I blinked as I looked at Danny. Danny actually thought about permanently finishing off some of our enemies?
"While that may work for you, Scarlet, the idea and act of actually finishing off another ghost may not work for others," Juliette stated. "And I would also like for you to not think about finishing off other ghosts. Perhaps you could learn from Danny and Andy about the art of catch and release."
"And besides," Danny continued. "While I have been tempted, I never actually do it, because even though they're ghosts, they still have their intelligence, personality and reasons for wanting to live their afterlives. So I don't see them as beasts, unless they are actual beasts, I just see them as people with powers I guess."
Scarlet looked puzzled at this.
"Heh, looks like Scarlet is thinking about it," Juliette chuckled. "Anyways, I assume you are also here to pick up Hope?"
I blinked before realizing that two weeks had already passed since I left Hope here. "O-oh, uh… well I…"
"You forgot, didn't you?" An annoyed voice asked from my feet.
Looking down, I could see the white and pink teddy bear standing there, looking at me with her black and red beady eyes, crossing her arms. I gave a sheepish smile.
"I may have had a lot of things on my mind lately," I said. "But I didn't forget about you, Hope. I just forgot that I was supposed to leave you here for a few days."
"Yeah, well I reached a decision and it didn't change even after you forgot about my existence," Hope grumpily responded.
"I'm really sorry about that," I apologized.
"I decided that I would like stay with you. As nice as Juliette is, this place is a bit… hectic," Hope stated. "With you, I know that things will be a bit more… regular I guess."
"You're choosing to come back with me, even though I hurt you?" I asked, looking at her surprised.
"Yeah, it's a lot safer with you than here. I've almost been impaled 3 times by Scarlet," Hope said, shooting a glare at Scarlet. "And also, I wanted a human to love me, even if they are only half human. Also…" Hope was looking at me but pointing behind me.
I tensed when I remembered that Danny hadn't known about Hope being a corporeal ghost. I turned around to see Danny was looking behind Scarlet, staring at me and Hope.
"Uh… am I seeing things or is that teddy bear moving and talking?" Danny questioned.
"No, you are not seeing things," Scarlet responded, patting Danny on the back.
Danny yelped as he fell forward from Scarlet's pat. I cringed, I could actually feel that. He continued forwards until he was on the ground, belly first. He looked up and saw he was staring Hope straight in the face.
Hope gave a small nervous wave, "Uhh… hi?"
Danny gave a surprised yelp before he scrambled up to his feet, grabbed me and hissed, "Andy! That teddy bear's alive! How are you not freaking out!?"
"Danny, relax!" I quickly said, hoping he would loosen his tight grip on my arm. "I've discovered Hope was alive a while back. I uh… may have freaked out on her, but she's a friend."
"Andy! You really need to stop making such strange friends!" Danny yelled.
"W-what can I say? I attract strange attention," I said sheepishly.
"If it helps…" Hope began to say, causing Danny to look at her again. "I'm not actually a teddy bear, I'm a ghost who became corporeal. So I don't have any actual powers like this. I can't fly or turn invisible or intangible like you and Andy could. I'm about as harmless as an actual teddy bear, really."
"As far as we know," Juliette said. "For all you know, you could have a ton of powers."
"I still can't believe you've made so many… unique friends, Andy," Danny said to me, calming down a bit.
"Well to be fair, I did have a half ghost brother before I've met these guys," I said. "Can you let go of me now?"
"Oh uh… right," Danny chuckled sheepishly before he let me go.
"So what are you two going to do now?" Juliette asked before I picked Hope up.
I had forgotten how soft Hope felt, it made me smile at how high quality her fur was. "Well, we'll probably go back home now if there aren't any ghost attacks. We do have school tomorrow."
"Are you going to introduce me to more of your friends?" Scarlet asked with a big smile.
"Uh… maybe a little later," I said a little nervously. "Unlike Danny and me, our friends are all humans and they're a lot more… fragile."
"I'll work on getting Scarlet to be a little more gentle," Juliette said with a giggle.
"Fine then," Scarlet said before she gave Danny and me a studied look. "If you two want to get stronger or learn something new, I'd be happy to teach you."
"Really?" Danny asked with figurative stars in his eyes.
"Of course, just tell me when and what you want to learn," Scarlet said with a smile. "I was always happy to teach Juliette something new to defend herself with. And I feel I owe it to your brother since he reunited me with my princess."
"Heh… I remember our last training… before I was stuck in bed," Juliette said with a sad smile. "Though I shouldn't dwell on that right now otherwise we might be here for a while. For now, I shall bid you farewell, Danny, Andy, and Hope. Feel free to return here at any time you want."
"Of course, it'll be our pleasure," I said with a smile.
"We'll be sure to come back before long," Danny said. "Especially if you make good on your offer to train us."
"I'm always ready to help whip a youngling into shape," Scarlet responded with a confident smirk.
I turned over to Danny before looking at the door, then I looked at Hope and up at the ceiling and smiled as an idea came to me. "Hey bro, while we're here, why don't we fly around the city for a bit? I'm sure Hope would like to be able to see Amity Park from the sky."
"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea, I always enjoy an afternoon flight," Danny agreed.
"Heh, of course you do," I chuckled. "I remember seeing you fly every noon after school and night before I even got ghost powers."
Danny blushed a bit, "W-well flying's nice, that's all I'm saying."
A ring of light appeared on Danny's torso before it split horizontally, changing him into his ghost form. I briefly looked to see Scarlet smiling even more as she saw Danny's ghost form for the first time. I smiled before I reached into my core and transformed into my ghost form.
"So we're really going flying?" Hope asked, sounding nervous yet excited.
"Of course," I said with a smile as my brother already flew up to the ceiling, turning intangible to phase through it. "Flying in this world is a lot more enjoyable than in the Ghost Zone."
I flew up to the ceiling, holding onto Hope with both of my arms, turning both of us intangible before flying through the ceiling myself. We were greeted with the blue sky.
"Since I technically can't fly on my own, I'll take your word for it," Hope said with a chuckle. "Though I will admit, the scenery is a whole lot more enjoyable than the Ghost Zone."
As soon as I felt we were high enough, I slowed until I was coasting through the sky slowly. Hope and I looked down at the city, the view was as breathtaking as it always was.
I would ask Hope what she thought of the view, but maybe it's better to let her silently take it all in.
"Hey bro," I heard Danny calling.
I looked around before I saw him flying beside me, "Hey Danny. We should probably get back home soon."
"We'll go soon, but I like being able to just fly around with my brother," Danny said with a smile. "We actually don't do this too often."
It was true, Danny and I usually take turns going out on patrol in the sky. I gave a chuckle to Danny. "Maybe we should do it a little more often."
I had to admit, it was nice flying with Danny. Hopefully we could do it again in the near future, without having to worry about a ghost attack.
"As long as there aren't any threats from ghosts or Valerie," Danny responded with a chuckle. "Now, let's head home."
"Right, oh and Danny," I spoke up, getting my brother's attention. "Don't tell anyone about Hope being alive, okay? Not even Jazz."
"I promise I won't tell anyone, but it's not like they would even believe me if I did tell them," Danny promised. "'Hey did you know Andy's teddy bear is alive?' Yeah, they'd send me straight to a psychiatric facility."
"Which is exactly why I didn't tell you about Hope either," I laughed. "You and Jazz already thought I was crazy enough already."
"Yeah, but you actually had proof to show me," Danny chuckled. "So I would've had to believe you."
"Do you two like talking to each other a lot like this?" Hope asked.
"Eh, only on good days," I answered with a small smile.
"You also like to rant on your bad days," Danny said with a small smile of his own.
I answered with a roll of my eyes as we continued to fly around the city.
"Andy, wake up already!" A voice loudly cut through the mist of sleep. "Andy! If you don't wake up now, we're gonna be late for school!"
I groaned as I turned over in my bed. I always hated having to be woken up after a night patrol on a school night, I feel like I never get enough sleep.
"Okay, you made me resort to this!" The voice said loudly.
I tried to ignore the voice and try to lay in my comfy bed for another minute or two, but then my comfortable bed suddenly disappeared. My eyes shot open right when I saw my bed turning see-thru and I yelped when I hit the floor underneath my bed. Ow...
"You got 10 seconds to get up before I turn your bed tangible," The voice, which my now awake mind registered as Danny's voice, warned.
I gave a grumpy growl before I rolled out from my intangible bed. I looked up at Danny, seeing he was laughing while he was holding onto the foot of my bed with his intangible hand.
"I gave you plenty of chances to wake up without me having to resort to that," Danny said with a small smile as he looked down at me. "How late were you out last night?"
I slowly stood up and stretched out as Danny let go of my bed, returning it to being tangible again. "I think I came back around 2 AM. Oh and you turning my bed intangible was annoying."
"Would you prefer a bucket of ice water next time?" Danny asked with a mischievous smirk.
I gave Danny a nonchalant look before I said, "A bucket of ice water? You know, I'm surprised you didn't try the Bearbert trick again like you did last time. Are you trying to find creative ways to wake me up now?"
"I gotta keep changing it up otherwise you'll get used to my methods," Danny replied.
"Hey, are you two going to talk all morning?" I heard Hope asking from my desk. "Aren't you going to be late if you don't get moving?"
"She's right, if we don't get going now, we're going to be late for school, bro," Danny said with a stretch.
I sighed before I said, "Yeah, yeah, let's go get ourselves ready."
Danny and I cleaned ourselves up in the bathroom, we combed our hair and put on deodorant and all that. We then went back to our rooms before we began digging out our clothes from our closet. After I put on my classic black T-shirt with the blue triangle on my chest, and my dark red pants, I looked at the blue jacket that I usually wore.
I gave a small frown when I looked at the blue jacket, debating with myself if I should wear it. It wasn't a cold day today, and it has been getting warmer since spring started. But I have gotten used to wearing that jacket.
"You shouldn't always wear the same thing, Andy," Danny said when he saw me staring at the jacket. "Besides that thing hasn't been in the wash in… what… weeks? Months? It needs to go into the laundry regardless of the answer."
I took the jacket and looked at it. Danny was right, the jacket was pretty dirty, and a little bit worn. I looked over at the sleeve, seeing it stitched up from when I had cut my arm that time.
"How about you just grab a light hoodie or something in case it gets a little chilly?" Danny suggested.
"Heh, maybe," I gave a small chuckle before folding up my jacket. "I'll have to ask Mom to get this washed. I'll meet you in the kitchen for breakfast."
"I have to ask, why do you still have that thing?" Danny asked bluntly.
I looked back at Danny and gave a small, uneasy smile, "Why does it matter? It was cold and this is a good jacket."
"You have other jackets and sweatshirts in your closet, but you've worn that exact jacket for…" Danny started to say before he frowned. "How long have you been wearing that jacket straight? It feels like its been months… but I can't really remember exactly when you started wearing it all the time."
I looked away. I hadn't thought about it in a long time, not since that whole future evil Dan fiasco. Haven't I gotten over it by now? I thought I did… so why do I still wear this jacket? "I guess I just have some sentimentality with this particular jacket."
"That doesn't answer my question, bro," Danny pointed out. "When did you start wearing that jacket?"
"Um…" I hesitated. "About 5-ish months ago…" Please don't figure it out.
"5 months ago…?" Danny repeated as he began to think back.
"It's not a big deal, really!" I quickly said, not wanting him to remember about what happened on that day. "I can just… you know… take this to Mom and… uh… get it washed?"
"Wait! 5 months ago is… I see," Danny frowned. "You've been wearing that jacket since the… incident?"
I sighed before I said, "It was something I used to hide my face in when… uh… it's not important now." I suppose the only other time I didn't wear it was when we were in the lab to recreate the accident.
"You really want to keep that jacket?" Danny asked with a frown. "But why? I mean… doesn't it remind you of…?"
"I told you that it doesn't matter, Danny," I said with an irritated tone. "Just forget about it."
"No, I'm not gonna forget about it," Danny said with a frown.
I looked down at my jacket. Then I felt Danny's hand on my shoulder. It wasn't a rough jerk or a hard grip, it felt comforting. I turned my head to look over at Danny to see him giving me a soft, sympathetic look.
"And I know you never forgot about it either, bro…" Danny said quietly.
I was about to say something, but then my head started to feel tingly. Danny's eyes widened, looking surprised about something, before a sensation took over my vision.
I couldn't tell where I was, the surrounding was too blurry, but I see a lot of green and white. There was something in front of me. It looked like an altar of some kind, and I see Sam standing on one side of the altar, wearing a big pink dress. And standing next to her was… uh… I couldn't make out who was standing next to her, they were too blurry. I just know I could see the blurry being glowing and was a mix with blue and black. Then I heard a voice.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
To my shock, I saw Sam leaning in to the blurry being, puckering her lips, like she was going to kiss that person. I felt a sudden angry emotion at this, but I didn't know why.
"This can't be…" Danny's voice said before the vision started to blur and shift.
I saw Danny, in his ghost form, trapped in a glowing blue net. Danny was struggling to get out. Then I saw some kind of energy attack being aimed at him, and Sam came running over. She quickly picked up Danny and began carrying him, barely dodging the energy attack.
"Danny! Are you okay?" Sam asked Danny in concern.
I felt embarrassed for some reason.
"I'm fine Sam, I just can't get out of this dang net!" Danny yelled in irritation, still trying to get out of the net.
"Here, let me help you," Sam said as she put Danny down.
I felt the vision shifting once more.
This one was a little weird. I didn't see anyone, nor did I hear any voices. I just thought I heard a crashing sound, and I saw blurry images of some kind of gold pieces lying around. And a big red, menacing looking circle staring right into my soul. And then green flames flickered into my vision. I gasped when I heard a sudden loud roar.
I let out a gasp and fell to my knees, feeling a little tired all of a sudden. I looked back to see Danny fell on his butt, looking surprised.
"Was… was that…?" Danny looked at me. "Did you share your vision with me again? That one was a lot longer than the last one."
"I… I guess… I did," I said, panting a little. Why did that exhaust me?
"You okay?" Danny asked in concern when he saw me panting. "Maybe we should go into late so you have time to recover?"
"No… no, I'm fine," I said as I stood back up. "I guess that just… took me by surprise. At least I can say that I can share my visions with you as long as you're touching me when I get them."
"If you say so…" Danny said, giving me a concerned look. "If that is a future vision… I'm worried about Sam. Was she getting married?"
"Obviously someone kidnapped her and probably had her under some kind of mind control," I said. "We'll have to figure it out later, for now we better get downstairs before we're late."
"Yeah, you're right, let's get going, we can think more about what we saw later on," Danny agreed.
"Looks like we made it just on time," Danny said as the school bell rang, a few seconds after we got inside Casper High.
"We probably could've gotten here faster if we just flew instead of running here," I grumbled. "Is this because you want to stay in shape better?"
"Well that and because if we flew to school we could end up getting spotted, I mean just think of how many people go to our school as well as how many adults are headed to work right now," Danny answered. "I know I usually don't give much thought to it, but I'd like to avoid revealing our somehow still secret identities."
"At least you're being more cautious about it," I chuckled.
"Heh, I guess you're rubbing off on me a bit," Danny chuckled back.
"At least we can now run to homeroom before the teacher get angry with us for being late again," I said. "Though we probably shouldn't run since we'd probably get into trouble and I'm not interested in having detention."
Danny nodded in acknowledgement as we headed to our homeroom classroom.
As we sat down in our seats, the second bell rang, meaning it was time for homeroom to start. It was followed by the usual electronic click from the school's PA system.
"How's it hanging, Casper High? It's a beautiful Monday morning and it's time for the daily and weekly announcements!" An energetic young male voice said over the PA. "Let's start with today's lunch which is going to be tofu and beef sliders. Mr. Ring's music classes will be cancelled today as he is at home recovering from a musical accident."
"I hope Mr. Ring is okay, he makes learning music so much fun," One of my classmates said.
"And finally, the most important announcement is that this Friday will be a Special Event! Our school has been chosen for a Beauty Pageant sponsored by the Illustrious Dorothy Crowne! For all who want to participate, there will be sign up sheets in the hall until tomorrow. All those who sign up will be allowed to skip class on Wednesday and Thursday in order to have proper training by Miss Crowne herself. There is a cash prize for the winner of the pageant of $1000. I repeat, that is a one thousand dollar cash prize for the winner of the pageant. Anywho, that's it for the announcements, I hope everyone has a great day and I will see you all tomorrow. Oh, wait, missed something here. All students are to gather in the auditorium at 6th period where Miss Crowne will pick out who the judges for the pageant will be. There will be three judges picked, so all you guys out there better cross your fingers that you get chosen. Now, hope you all have a fantastic day Casper High, and see you all tomorrow. Go Ravens!"
"Oh come on, a beauty pageant?" I heard Sam groaning in annoyance. "As if this school didn't have enough shallow girls striving for beauty. Now there's a competition for it."
"I take it that means you won't be competing?" Tucker asked.
"You kidding? Sam wouldn't be caught dead in a big princess dress," Danny said before his eyes went wide and he looked at me.
I blinked at Danny, wondering why he was suddenly looking at me, before I remembered that vision we saw of Sam in a big pink princess-like dress getting married to someone. "Uh… I'm sure it's uh… less than likely?"
"Danny's right, I'd die before I willingly put on a frufru dress and act like an object to be fawned over and objectified," Sam stated. "It's the 21st century, we don't need anymore of this sexist junk."
"Sam, relax," Tucker said. "It's just a beauty pageant, there's nothing wrong or sexist about it."
"Besides, the other girls seem pretty excited about it," I said, pointing at the other girls in our homeroom.
The other girls were already looking in their compact mirrors and putting on makeup.
"They're probably interested in the cash prize," Sam scoffed. "I can't believe they're willing to throw away their dignity for 1000 dollars."
"It's a thousand dollars, Sam," Tucker pointed out. "Just because you're filthy rich doesn't mean everyone else is."
"Huh… I wonder if Valerie would-" I stopped myself when I saw Danny, Tucker and Sam giving me looks. "Not that she would."
"Heh, perhaps some guys should compete in the pageant," Tucker chuckled. "I mean they said Beauty Pageant, not Princess Pageant. And 1000 dollars would be pretty useful, especially since tech is so costly these days."
"Don't even think about it, Tuck," Danny grumbled. "I saw you in a dress before, once was enough already."
"No promi-" Tucker started to say before stopping halfway through his sentence, seemingly freezing.
"Tucker?" I asked when he suddenly stopped and was holding that position perfectly.
"Is this some kind of joke, Tuck?" Danny asked as he leaned over and waved his hand in front of Tucker's face.
"Sam, what's wrong with-" I stopped when I noticed Sam was being perfectly still too. "Sam?"
"What's going on here?" Danny asked me.
I looked around and noticed it wasn't just Tucker and Sam. The entire class were being statues right now. Getting suspicious, I looked over at the wall clock to see it wasn't even ticking.
"Danny… I think time just stopped," I said in a serious tone.
"That's funny… this has to be some kind of prank you're trying to pull on me, and I have to admit, it's pretty elaborate," Danny said, rejecting my comment.
"It is not a joke or a prank, Daniel, I promise you that," A voice that I vaguely remembered said from all around us. "As for what is going on, I can explain."
In a bright blue flash of light, a young woman with a long blonde hair, wearing a light blue dress with a green scaly pattern under her blue dress, appeared before us.
"Hello, Daniel and Andrew," The woman said as she walked in.
"Who are you?!" Danny yelled, both of his hands surrounded in ecto energy.
"Calm yourself, Daniel, I am Dorothy Crowne, but you might know me better as Dorathea, or Dora," The woman, who claimed to be Dora said before a bright glow surrounded her. When the bright glow subsided, we saw Dora standing in front of us in her humanoid ghost form.
"Dora!" I smiled. "It's been a while since I last saw you, how've you been?"
"It indeed has been quite some time," Dora said with a smile. "I have been… busy to say the least. Both for Clockwork and…" Dora let out a loud sigh before she continued. "My brother."
"Your brother?" Danny asked as he dissipated the ghost rays he had been forming in his hands.
"Oh, I remember him," I said with a frown. "Or rather, I remember his dragon form almost killing me and my friends when I was in the Ghost Zone that one time…"
"Yes, well he has been treating me like a lowly servant…" Dora responded with a frown before she started floating in the air. "Let me explain…"
FireSoulKit: DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Maybe Dash will learn of it soon, maybe he won't, it all depends on where we want to go with Dash's character.
Luna Lilyth: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': While your idea is pretty solid, we have our own thoughts about how all that will go.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': It's kind of funny how so many people are looking forward to when we get to the point where Dani comes into the story, everyone's wondering if we'll include an 'Andi' or not, and how we would be implementing her. XD
Jewel moonstone: DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': I have a lot of oddities, but I'd say one that stands out to me is that I often like imagining different types of scenarios that's going on in a movie/anime/cartoon scene. Take it out of context and putting it with my own. That's often how my fanfiction stories get started. ^^'
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': A odd habit of mine is that I like to put 2 liter bottles of soda in the fridge to freeze a little so it's pretty much slushy.
Guest #1: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': That's a very interesting comparison.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': That's not the first time someone's made that comparison, but it has been a while since anyone did.
Mana: DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': I've always assumed that when Dash said 'you do realize this is the last time we'll work together, right?' to Sam was due to the fact they were both coaches, I guess to Dash that means they're technically working together. Although there are still a lot of weird dialogues or scenes in the show, I've come to terms that's just how Butch Hartman does his shows. It may not be my style, but it's fun to use and make fun of.
I'm not sure if it's canon that Sam's parents has a tech company, but it would explain the wealthy lifestyle.
Well, you know how ghosts can possess or mind control people? It's likely they did that to the school staffs to allow the pageants on school grounds.
As for what I think Sam could've done differently, maybe she should've entered the pageant for more of a reason than 'I'm doing this to make a statement'. Like maybe have her join it because she discovered Dora might be a ghost early on, and is investigating it. Because of her petty reason I couldn't help but say 'what was the reason for her to join the pageant just to say it's stupid?' I mean nobody really learned anything from it except maybe Danny, but Danny already knew that lesson, not to mention the ending itself felt incredibly rushed and messy. I had so many questions, like how long were they gone? Why was everyone back at the stage? Why were the audience still all there? Why did Danny and Sam just go there to say "The winner is Sam!" "This whole thing is stupid. Come on Danny, let's go get some veggie burgers!" And then they just walk away while all the girls go after Tucker's blood. It felt like Butch and the rest of the writers for the episode just ran out of time and hurried to finish the episode by giving Sam what she wanted basically, with no explanation or repercussions whatsoever. Again, not trying to hate on Sam or anything, that's just what it genuinely felt like to me when I watched it.
Guest #2: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': That's actually one of the names we're considering.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': The nickname 'Andi' is pretty much a guarantee though.
Flash Beat: DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Awww, it's always nice to hear (or in this case, read) someone enjoying my OC. It was fun to write Andy since I'm a big Danny fan, and I've also always wanted to write a story where there was a bystander character who's sort of witnessing the action but not actually a part of it himself. Of course, eventually Andy did become part of the main cast of characters, but at least it felt natural rather than something the author pushed for. Glad to see that you remembered Foxfire, and his possible relationship with Andy.
Dustin fused back with future Andy, so both of them disappeared when future Andy removed his time medallion after the future was changed.
Heh, the part where Clockwork told Dora to place the skateboard there was a past co-author's idea. It was pretty funny, and I decided to use it. Some people thought Andy would go in there himself, but as you've said, it really wouldn't be in Andy's character if he did.
Please, if you have anymore to say, don't be afraid to say it.
Trinity stark: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': Yup. Today. Here ya go.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Just don't expect fast updates any time soon. And please don't ask in reviews or PM for us to update.
