DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Hello everyone! I'm sure you're all curious to where the new picture came from.
Andy: If you hadn't noticed, the picture was changed to fanart of my brother and I. Who was the artist again, Hamsuke?
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': *Stares at Andy* The heck? Where did you come from, Andy? How did you even get here?
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': I… am not sure… perhaps we'll find out eventually.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': How did you even know who I am?
Andy: Hey, just because I haven't been on the ANs lately, doesn't mean I wasn't watching what you two have been doing.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': *Grumbles* More like going through…
Andy: It was easy to sneak in here. In fact, you guys left the door open slightly.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': *Stares at Hamsuke* You forgot to close the door fully when you came back in?!
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Hmm? I never close the door fully, I thought you knew that.
Andy: Hey, guys, back on topic. *Snaps in the air between us* You were about to talk about the artist who made the fan art that is now the cover picture for the story? The one of me and Danny.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Oh right, the picture was done by hys8892. They did a great and wonderful job with the picture. Also, Andy, you probably shouldn't stick around for long, if Aragon finds you, he's not going to be too happy.
Andy: Don't worry about me, Hamsuke. I'm here with a plan. Speaking of which, you should probably turn back to Fox soon. The… ehem… special event should be happening decently soon and it would be best if you went as yourself instead of a giant hamster.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Um… Andy, I can't turn back into a fox. I'm kind of stuck this way.
Andy: Have Dora help you then, I'm sure she has a way to help you. Now, I best be going.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': See you, Andy. Make sure to close the door on the way out. Oh and Hamsuke, for as long as we're here, it'd probably be best if you did close the door. Anyways, readers, enjoy the chapter. Oh, and sorry for the late night upload
Chapter 64: Unexpected Trip
Mom and Dad were very understanding when Danny and I came home early. Mr. Lancer had already called and explained the situation with them. Mom checked us for any injuries, while Dad reminisced how popular he was with the ladies himself when he was our age, which earned him a quick slap from Mom.
"How about you two head up to your room and relax while I make some snacks for you two?" Mom suggested.
"Thanks, Mom," I said gratefully.
"Yeah, thanks, Mom," Danny echoed.
Danny and I headed upstairs and into our room. Jazz was still in school, so it was just me and Danny up here.
"You two are home awfully early," Hope said from my desk.
"We got mobbed by girls," I grumbled. "And while on TV that's usually seen as a dream come true thing, it was just a nightmare for us."
"I was about to say, 'oh no, I'm being chased down by girls who want me'," Hope chuckled. "Though thinking about it, I can see how it would become overwhelming quite quickly."
"No kidding," Danny sighed. "Ghost powers made it easier for us to get home without being noticed, but we probably won't be able to go back to school until the actual pageant."
"You make it sound like that's a bad thing," Hope said.
"Well it's not such a bad thing," Danny admitted. "We'll have more time to patrol Amity Park."
I sighed, "I just don't like the idea of missing school days."
"Be honest with yourself, Andy, would your teachers really have expected you to be able to concentrate with you two being judges for the pageant?" Hope pointedly asked.
"It would probably depend on the teacher," I said. "But I guess it doesn't matter now. We're here, and we have some time to think."
"What do you plan to do right now?" Hope asked.
"We could probably use this time to get our homework out of the way," I suggested. "For now we don't have any ghost attacks to worry about, that and Tucker and Sam are still at school. We won't go into the Ghost Zone until later, so we might as well do something productive."
I waited for the inevitable argument Danny would come up with. If we have free time, homework was the last thing he wanted to do.
"You know, you pretty much guaranteed we're gonna have to deal with a ghost," Danny chuckled, pointing out how I practically jinxed it.
"Give it a minute then and see if our ghost sense react or someone starts screaming," I said with a sigh.
Danny looked around, wondering if a ghost would show up. After a few minutes, nothing happened.
"It looks like we're all-" I started to say before I felt a warmth form in my throat before a familiar dark blue mist came out of my mouth. "Oh come on! Really?"
At the same time, Danny's lighter blue mist came out of his mouth.
Danny gave a chuckle before he said, "Wow, it just isn't your day, is it, bro?"
"Don't say another word," I grumbled.
Before Danny or Hope could reply to that, we heard what sounded like a motorcycle's engine outside, and an angry voice shouting. Danny and I quickly looked out our windows to see what was going on.
"GET BACK HERE YOU RAT!" A familiar fully armored form yelled.
"S-Scarlet?" I gulped, seeing how aggressive she was in that armor. It was just like when we first met.
"Is she chasing… Johnny?" Danny asked, just as shocked as I am.
I looked at the object or person Scarlet was chasing, and it was indeed Johnny on his beloved motorcycle. I could see him struggling to try and get away from the angry armored knight, and he had his arm wrapped around a bouquet of flowers.
"Come on! Just give me a break! All I wanted was to get these flowers to my sweet Kitty!" I heard Johnny yell.
"Not until you pay for all your sexist crimes against women!" Scarlet yelled as she threw a javelin towards Johnny, which Johnny had to swerve to avoid.
"Should we help?" Danny asked me, sounding unsure.
"Which one are you going to help?" Hope asked with a laugh.
"I… actually don't know…" Danny frowned.
"We do what we usually do," I answered. "We go into the middle of it all and try to figure out what's going on."
"Is that what you usually do?" Danny asked, surprised by my answer.
"Not usually, but this isn't a usual situation," I responded. "Normally we find out why the ghost is here and capture them… this is the first time we've actually witnessed two ghosts fighting among themselves in Amity Park."
"Well considering Scarlet is a friend, why not just capture Johnny and send him back to the Ghost Zone while asking Scarlet why she was chasing him?" Hope suggested as we watched Scarlet and Johnny get further and further away.
I frowned before I said, "We better hurry before Scarlet hurts some-"
"Scarlet! Get back here!" Another familiar voice yelled which caused Danny and I to look back out the window.
I saw a familiar white, furry figure flying in the sky at a much slower rate than Scarlet.
"It looks like Juliette's trying to stop Scarlet herself," I said.
"We should go help them," Danny stated as Juliette got further from our house. "If we keep talking, we'll only end up losing them."
"Then let's go," I said before Danny gave his battle cry.
"I'm going ghost!" Danny said before the ring of light appeared on his torso, changing him into his ghost form.
Danny wasted no time turning intangible and flying through the window. I changed into my own ghost form.
"You children be safe," Hope said as I turned intangible.
"Don't worry, we'll be fine," I said to Hope before I flew through the window, following Danny.
As soon as I flew out of the house, I felt my legs forming into that ghostly tail as I flew fast through the sky to catch up to Danny. I've become a much faster flyer in the past few months, so it's gotten a lot easier to catch up with my brother in the sky. I could see Danny's feet were also in its tail form as we were trying to catch up with Juliette, Scarlet and Johnny.
"They're not too much further ahead," Danny said when I caught up to him.
"I already see Juliette," I said as we came up to the goat girl. "Hey Juliette!"
Juliette looked over at us. "Danny, Andy? What are you two doing here?"
"We heard a lot of screaming," Danny chuckled.
"That and our ghost sense went off," I added. "What's going on? Why is Scarlet chasing Johnny?"
"I don't know, we were talking, there was a noise over the opera house, and then Scarlet suddenly took off," Juliette answered.
"Did Johnny do anything that might have caused Scarlet to want to attack him?" I asked.
"No, I have no idea what could have caused Scarlet to act like this," Juliette replied. "Perhaps it has to do with Johnny's personality? I mean he is a bit of a ladies' man."
"Don't tell me Scarlet and Johnny have history…" Danny groaned.
"I doubt it, but I'm not exactly sure," Juliette stated. "I know approximately the same as you two."
"Then we'll just have to catch up to them and find out," Danny said.
"Would you mind if we pulled you along, Juliette?" I asked.
"No, in fact I would gladly welcome it if it gets us to Scarlet faster," Juliette answered.
Danny took Juliette's right arm and I took her left arm. Both of us began flying faster while pulling Juliette along with us, getting closer to Scarlet and Johnny. I was worried that Scarlet might throw a javelin at a building if she keeps chasing Johnny down. A part of me was worried about pulling Juliette's arm off if we went any faster.
"Scarlet! Slow down!" Juliette yelled as loudly as she could when we got closer to Scarlet.
At first I wasn't sure if Scarlet heard us or is ignoring us, but she looked back at us for a moment before slowing down, letting us catch up to her.
"Explain what is going on this instant, Scarlet!" Juliette demanded before Scarlet took off her helmet.
I was a little surprised at the authority held in Juliette's voice when she said that.
Scarlet frowned, she may have slowed down to let us catch up to her, but she was still flying after Johnny. Danny and I had to keep following her while still pulling Juliette so she wouldn't fall behind.
"This pig needs to face justice for his transgressions," Scarlet said as she tossed away her helmet. My eyes followed her helmet down and I watched it dissipate before it hit any buildings.
"Did something happen between you and Johnny?" I asked.
"Yes and no," Scarlet responded. "The cockroach tried to flirt with me, and my response was a swift punch to his face."
"That's all?" Danny asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I found out that I wasn't even the only girl that he had flirted with," Scarlet continued. "He has flirted with practically every woman in the Ghost Zone, all while having a girlfriend! If he is going to treat his girlfriend with such disrespect by flirting with other women, then he doesn't deserve to keep his pitiful existence!"
"Scarlet, you don't have to kill Johnny for that," Danny quickly said. "He and Kitty made up… at least from the last time I saw them."
"When did you last see them?" I asked Danny.
"Uh… a while back…? It was when Kittyovershadowed Paulina to make Johnny jealous," Danny answered, giving a sheepish smile.
"That matters not. Once a cheat, always a cheat. The Ghost Zone would be better off without such useless trash!" Scarlet shouted as she switched out the javelins for a familiar bow.
I paled a little, seeing that bow. I still remembered how much that hurt.
"Juliette, say something!" I quickly said, starting to panic a little.
"I don't think there is anything I can say…" Juliette frowned.
"Johnny! Stop this instant and I will make your death painless!" Scarlet yelled as she began to slow down so she could aim her bow. "And don't even think about sending your shadow at me again, I will vanquish it just as fast as before."
I saw Johnny turning his motorcycle around, facing Scarlet.
"Did you just call me useless trash?" Johnny asked with a twitching brow. "You know, you're one crazy chick. I've had just about enough. I'll show you what Johnny 13 does to crazy broads."
All of a sudden, Johnny started coming right at us with his motorcycle. Danny and I had to deadstop so we didn't run into Scarlet who had stopped moving. I wasn't sure how well Juliette took the sudden deadstop, but she seemed to be okay for the most part.
Scarlet raised her bow and began to draw the string towards her while aiming the bow at Johnny. A large glowing arrow began to form as Johnny got closer.
"I dump them," Johnny suddenly said before pressing something on the handle of his motorcycle. The small device shot out a quick green beam of light under Johnny and transformed into a green portal. Before Scarlet could fire the bow, we all started to get pulled towards the portal which caused Scarlet to lose her aim.
"Scarlet!" I heard Juliette yell.
Danny and I were trying to pull away from the portal.
Scarlet, who saw she no longer had a shot at Johnny dissipated the bow and arrow quickly. She then started to try and work against the gravity of the portal, unfortunately she was the closest to it and her heavy armor didn't help her one bit. Within moments, her foot touched the portal and she was pulled in.
"Ugh! The pull is too strong! We're too close!" I groaned, still trying to struggle against the portal's pull.
"Dive!" Juliette suddenly commanded. "You're only wasting energy trying to fight it!"
I squeezed my eyes shut as something horrifying came to mind. "N-no! We can't let it pull us in!"
"Andy, please trust me!" Juliette begged. "I don't want to abandon Scarlet and you're only wasting your energy!"
"Bro! It's a portal to the Ghost Zone, we can easily get back here!" Danny yelled, seeing I had my eyes shut.
I opened my eyes and remembered where I was. "O-oh… right, Ghost Zone… yeah, we can handle that."
Juliette gave me a look of concern.
Danny and I turned ourselves around, letting go of Juliette, letting her fall into the Ghost Portal. Danny and I followed soon after, entering the portal head first.
It was kind of strange, entering into the Ghost Zone through a portal besides the one in our basement. I looked around, seeing floating islands and purple doors nearby. I also noticed Juliette floating a few feet away, and Danny was floating just beside me.
"You okay, bro?" Danny asked me.
"Yeah, I'm okay," I answered. "I just had a little bit of a lapse."
"I figured," Danny responded with a frown. "What exactly were you remembering or thinking of?"
"The Void…" I said with a frown. "I forgot we were just flying away from a Ghost Portal and thought it was the Void again."
Juliette turned to us when I said this. "I won't ask exactly what you are talking about, as I can tell it was a big enough event to traumatize you."
I sighed before I said, "That's not important right now. Where's Scarlet?"
"Or Johnny for that matter," Danny added.
"Well Johnny didn't get pulled into the portal," Scarlet's voice grumbled from somewhere nearby. "As for me… I'm a little bit stuck…"
We all looked around, trying to find where Scarlet's voice was coming frown.
"Down here!" We heard Scarlet's voice calling out.
All three of us looked down to see Scarlet, her legs stuck in some kind of green, sticky looking mass…
"Is that cloud or some kind of ecto cotton candy?" Danny asked, speaking out my thoughts.
"It's an ecto cloud," Scarlet grumbled. "And it is super sticky… can you please stop staring and help?"
We floated over to Scarlet as she held out her arms. Danny grabbed her left arm, while I grabbed the right and we began pulling.
"You know… for all the times I've been here, I've never seen any clouds in the Ghost Zone before," Danny said as we continued pulling Scarlet.
"You've been lucky then," Scarlet remarked. "This is a single cloud, I've seen entire ecto storm systems causing havoc."
"There are ecto rain and storms in the Ghost Zone?" I asked as we kept pulling. I saw we were making progress as Scarlet's legs started slipping out.
"Rain, hail, tornadoes, lightning storms, every kind of weather that your world has, a form of it exists here," Scarlet explained.
Juliette floated over, looking at the cloud in curiosity.
"I take it that these weathers are usually rare around here?" Danny asked as we almost got Scarlet's feet out of the sticky cloud.
"Yes, normally these clouds would be found in deeper sectors of the Ghost Zone," Scarlet said as we finally freed her feet. "The fact that it is here… it might mean that someone got ahold of one and is hunting. These ecto clouds are a hunter's best friend as once stuck, you aren't getting free unless you have the proper equipment."
"You don't think it's Skulker again, do you?" Danny asked.
I shook my head, "I'm sure there are other hunters besides Skulker in the Ghost Zone. Besides, Skulker usually use technology to hunt. I doubt he'd want to use a cloud."
"Juliette, don't get too close to the cloud," Scarlet said when she noticed Juliette was still looking at the cloud. "We don't want you getting stuck in it too."
"I wasn't planning on touching it," Juliette said as she backed away from the cloud. "I was just studying it… this is actually my first time seeing an ecto cloud. I stayed away from the deeper parts of the Ghost Zone."
"Well, we're in the Ghost Zone," I said. "I mean we did plan on coming here later, but I guess we could use this time to find a bazaar or shop in the Ghost Zone to see if we could find an item that could make humans tangible here."
"We could," Danny said before he frowned. "But we might want to do it fast. Tucker and Sam will probably come over after school, and they might get worried about us if we're not home."
"Hmmm…" Juliette looked around. "I think I know approximately where we are… if I can find a good landmark, I can figure out exactly where we are."
"I still can't believe that rat dumped us in here," Scarlet growled as we started flying through the Ghost Zone.
"Well he did and we're here, so we should work on getting to a bazaar and then getting out of here," Juliette said before she smiled. "I know where we are! That's the route to the Frozen Wasteland."
"There's a frozen wasteland?" Danny asked, surprised.
"Yes, there are many different locations in the Ghost Zone," Juliette answered. "The Frozen Wasteland, the Crags, unnamed deserts, the volcanic zone, and zones where time flows differently. There are both futuristic locations as well as those that exist in the past, for instance, where Aragon resides."
"Wow, this place really is infinite," I said in awe. "You really can find just about anything here."
Juliette nodded and mumbled to herself as she looked around. "There should be a specific door nearby."
"Just a question," Danny spoke up. "But are there any towns or villages in the Ghost Zone that would have these bazaars or shops, or are they just in one isolated location?"
"There are cities and towns, but those aren't always as safe as the bazaars," Juliette answered as she started flying in a certain direction. "Follow me, the door should be close."
Scarlet, Danny and I followed Juliette. We did see a few ghosts around, but they appeared to be lesser ghosts, they didn't have a real form other than the shapeless green blob with red eyes and a mouth. Juliette stopped in front of one of the floating doors. The door was bright green with a sign hammered onto it. The sign said 'Bazaar - Safe Zone'.
"This is it! One of the main bazaars in the Ghost Zone, there are multiple entrances to each of the bazaars spread out," Juliette explained as she grabbed the handle on the door and opened it.
I was taken back by how big and natural the bazaar looked from the entrance of the door. I could already see several shops, and crowds of ghosts floating around. None of the ghosts attacked each other, each of them either acted civillied or just ignored each other.
"At a Ghost Bazaar, fighting another ghost is strictly prohibited," Scarlet explained to me and Danny. "So even if your worst enemies were here, they would leave you alone."
"If anyone breaks the rules they're pretty much guaranteed to end up in Walker's jail," Juliette added.
"Ugh, don't remind me," I groaned, remembering being thrust into that tournament just for a chance to escape Walker's jail.
"Well, at least we know Walker's rules are good for something," Danny chuckled.
"They aren't just Walker's rules," Juliette said. "They were decided upon by a whole collection of powerful ghosts."
"Yeah, all of them are ghosts that even I wouldn't mess with," Scarlet added. "It was the only way to get the other ghosts to follow the rules."
"Well, enough chit chat, shall we go in?" I said.
Juliette smiled before she floated into the bazaar herself. Scarlet went in next. Danny followed after Scarlet, and I brought up the rear before closing the door behind me.
I looked back and, to my relief, I saw the closed door was still there, I had been worried it would disappear when I closed it. I turned my attention back to the Ghost Bazaar, it was even bigger in person. It had a lot of green, but that's to be expected.
"Let's start looking around," Juliette stated. "We're looking for what are known as 'cursed' objects. We should split into two groups to look around, we'll look around for a bit and meet up in the center of the bazaar with our results, no buying anything on your own."
I looked at Juliette before I said, "Then how about I go with you and Danny goes with Scarlet? You and Scarlet are more familiar with the Ghost Bazaar than Danny and I are, so it would be easier to not get lost if we went with either of you."
"That sounds good to me," Scarlet chuckled. "I would love to use this time to get to know your brother a bit more."
Danny gave a nervous chuckle before he said, "Uh… I look forward to it..?"
"Hmmm, if you look over to the right you will see a large clocktower," Juliette pointed out. "We'll meet up in one hour."
"Okay Danny, let's get going! We have a lot of shops to check out in just one hour!" Scarlet said loudly before taking Danny's arm and started marching down the long corridor.
Danny let out a help as he was forced to follow Scarlet. I almost laughed, it was too funny. I hope Danny survives Scarlet's antics.
"So where to first, Juliette?" I asked.
"Hmmm, let's look around for jewelry first," Juliette responded.
I nodded before Juliette and I began walking through the bazaar. We could float too if we wanted, but it was nice to walk in the Ghost Zone, made it feel more like Earth. Juliette and I looked at the different stalls, many of them had a lot of interesting things that I've never seen before, or things that couldn't be possible in our world.
"We don't have to look around for just our target, Andy, if there's anything that interests you just point it out and I'll make note of where we are so we can come back after we group back together." Juliette smiled.
"There's a lot of stuff that interests me," I said, looking around the stall. "There's so many cool things that I never knew existed."
I stopped when we came to a proper weapons shop inside an actual building. I saw a lot of different types of weapons made of ectoplasm and some kind of black metal from the window alone.
"Want to look inside?" Juliette asked with a chuckle as she looked at my expression.
"J-just a look," I said sheepishly, feeling a little embarrassed. "I think some of these weapons could help inspire me when creating my own."
"You go ahead, I'll wait out here. I've never been that huge of a fan of weapons," Juliette said.
"Okay, it shouldn't take me too long to look around," I said before I walked into the shop.
There were a lot of burly and aggressive type ghosts around the shop. They didn't pay me any heed as they were too invested in what weapons to choose from. I looked around, seeing a lot of variety of weapons here. Not all of them were made from ectoplasm, many of them looked like they were made from actual steel. I stopped when I saw a pair of swords crossed together. The dual swords reminded me of Dustin, or rather, my future ghost self when he created his own swords. I've never used a sword before, let alone dual wield swords. I wonder how my future self learned how to use swords? Did Vlad teach him or did he decide to learn on his own? Could I ever learn how to use a sword? Should I upgrade my plasma rod into a plasma sword and start from there?
I turned my head to see guns, many of them were laid out in cases. I should look for a gun that I could use in battle too. Or at least a gun I can make and use myself.
I walked over to the cases of guns and started studying each of them. The rifle looks like it would be a good candidate, but it might be too long for me. Maybe I should start small, like with a pistol...
"You look like you could use some help," A voice said from behind me.
I turned around to see who spoke to me. It looked like a young man with red hair, and light blue skin.
"Hi there, I'm Wolf and I'm the owner of this place," The young man said with a smirk.
"It's nice to meet you, Mr. Wolf," I said politely.
"For the sake of your and my other customer's secrecy, I'm going to refer to you by your eye color, Mr. Amethyst," Wolf said as he looked at my eyes. "Now, Mr. Amethyst, what is it that you're looking for? A starter weapon?"
It was strange to be called by my ghostly eye color, but I decided to just take it. "You could say that."
Wolf nodded and walked over to my side. "Well a starter firearm would be a pistol. My favorite is this one right here."
Before my eyes, wolf reached through the glass and pulled out a small pistol. At first I didn't think anything of it, since I was used to ghosts easily reaching through material matter, but then my brain caught up with me and remembered this is the Ghost Zone, meaning standard ghosts shouldn't be able to make themselves intangible so easily here. Either the shopkeeper was highly trained, or he somehow has some human properties about him.
"Hey, how'd you do that?" I asked, hoping my simple question didn't seem out of place.
"How'd I grab the gun?" Wolf asked. "That's an excellent question. I have a specific item that allows me to interact with my display cases. I had the cases built in a special way that prevents anyone from turning intangible and grabbing whatever they wanted. The only way to access the cases is if you have the key. I won't show you the key due to me wanting to keep my stock safe."
I gave a small nod to that. I wonder if this key of his is one of those cursed objects Juliette told me about...
"Now, this is a fairly common ecto pistol with a single main modification which allows one to store their energy into a battery and save up the energy in the pistol instead of having to constantly charge the gun every shot," Wolf explained as he showed the pistol to me. "It is a slight bit heavier than standard pistols due to the battery, and a slight bit more expensive, but it's definitely worth it in the long run."
So a ghost made pistol doesn't use bullets, instead it uses the ghost's energy. I thought to myself as I took in every word Wolf said.
"It's one of the best starter weapons if you are looking for a ranged type weapon," Wolf explained. "If you're looking for a close quarters weapon, I would recommend a short sword as it is one of the easier weapons to pick up."
"I also was thinking about using a sword too," I said, showing my interest.
"Are you thinking about using both at the same time or one weapon at a time?" Wolf asked.
"I might be interested in using both at the same time, but I think for now I should take it one step at a time," I said. "I'm no expert with weapons yet after all."
"If you'd like the advice of an expert, I'd say go with the ranged weapon first," Wolf stated matter of factly. "It's more versatile than a sword."
"Yeah, that's true," I agreed. Besides, I can still use my plasma rod for close range. I can work on using a sword after I've learned how to use a gun.
Wolf looked at me for a second before he said, "I can tell you aren't carrying any money on you right now, but I have the feeling you have friends with money. So how about you bring them on back and I'll have this baby waiting for you?"
"Oh uh, well I mostly just came here to look around," I answered sheepishly.
"I understand, I'll still keep the pistol waiting for you," Wolf said with a smirk. "I have the feeling that I'll be seeing you again."
"Yeah, thanks," I said before I walked out of the shop, seeing Juliette waiting for me.
"Did you find anything that interested you?" Juliette asked when she saw me coming out of the store.
"There is a pistol there that I might consider getting," I answered. "It could be the first gun I can try to create for myself."
Juliette nodded before she asked, "Are you ready to continue looking around? We have another half hour before we have to meet up with Danny and Scarlet."
"Yeah, let's go," I said as I thought about the possible cursed object Wolf had. "I'm sure we'll find what we need around here."
Juliette nodded and smiled before we started moving again, looking at the items in the stalls and shops.
Reviews
haloguardian452: DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': What detail? Might help if you were a little more specific.
KorrieChan: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': Well then it's good we updated this story. Glad you enjoyed the changes we made. And it's more of an 'update whenever we feel we are ready' kind of story. We try to shoot for monthly, but we don't want to put any unnecessary pressure on ourselves.
RedHood001: DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Yeah, Mr. Lancer seemed to be the most involved teacher in the series, so it feels like he cares the most for his students. Thank you, we're glad that you enjoy this story.
Luna Lillyth: DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': It is funny in the canon episode where Danny and Tucker are self aware and are taking advantage of the girls hitting on them. But I couldn't see Andy enjoying it that much, and by extension, Danny. While they both have different opinions when it comes to Paulina, they both don't like being mobbed by girls.
Andy going off on his own wasn't originally something I intended to do a lot, just occasionally when I feel like the plot needed it. But I needed some way to introduce Scarlet and Juliette as well as a few other characters. In the episodes where Danny was trapped in the Ghost Writer's book, and was shrunken down with Dash, I feel like those were the best ways to have Andy be alone for a while.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': I do think giving Andy his own chapters is beneficial to the story as it shows his growth as an individual, not simply being in Danny's shadow or anything. It does also allow us to bring in plot devices or character that we want to use later that wouldn't necessarily be as easy to bring in if the entire crew was there. Though I will say this, while we do give Andy his own agency and chapters, we have no plans on making the story solely for him. We want to find a balance of solo adventures, adventures Andy has with friends outside of his regular group (Sam, Tucker, and Danny), and adventures more similar to the episodes where we work Andy into the story without forcing it.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Yeah, remember that the story is called We Are Phantoms, meaning that a good portion of it will be Andy and Danny working together.
Mana: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': Sadly a good number of parents IRL want that of their children as well. Simply a trophy child they can show around to the world and say 'look at my perfect child, they have no flaw in any way!'. I'm sure Grandma Manson would whoop Sam's parents' behinds if they tried to send Sam away for not being a barbie doll. And… Tucker with a harem wouldn't be good… the power and popularity might go to his head.
We try to make changes to the story that makes more sense using real world logic. The 'including Sam on the plan' was definitely part of that.
DarkFoxKit 'Hamsuke': Well, canon Tucker would. Our Tucker has a little more restrained, especially due to a certain goat ghost girl.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': *Chuckles* True.
