Title: Gaze into the Stars
Author: wyntersun
Summary: Nothing makes Mac more happier than star gazing. MacStella. Pure Fluff. You have been warned!
Stella cannot understand why Mac wanted a walk in Central Park. At night, nevertheless. He made some comments about them visiting the park only when there's a crime scene, or when Danny was in the mood to treat the rest of the team with hot dogs.
She also couldn't understand why Mac's neck seemed to go over its limit, his eyes looking at the stars.
"Guide me, will you Stel?" Mac had said amidst the silence between them. Stella looked at him as if he could slap him senseless. "Can't you keep your eyes glued on the pathway?" she asked. No answer. "He's lost in some parallel dimension." she thinks.
Mac then sits on the grass, as a kid would do when the teacher would tell a story. His hands were clutched to his crossed legs, his whole body swinging back and forth.
"Mac, if you're having some kind of psychological disorder, tell me immediately so that I can call Hawkes." Stella said, still in disbelief that her partner was acting like a kid.
He shook his head and said, "I'm fine... Sit beside me, will you Stel?"
"I won't do that. Get up Taylor."
He looked at her, pouting, puppy dog eyes and all.
When Danny does that, Stella would reach for the nearest hard object possible, and whack it hard. Mac would look at him sternly, then Danny would go back to work.
But this was Mac Taylor pouting.
Don Flack once said that Stella was physically incapable of keeping a straight face. "Now Mac, that's one guy who can hold a poker face"
Mac Taylor was pouting.
So she sat down beside him, unable to resist the charm.
"Finally!" Mac said, smiling. "My face was getting sore." She punched him in the arm and said, "So stop pouting like Danny." Mac looked shocked and said, "I do not pout like Danny. He looks like a pug when he does that."
'Harsh."
"Just the truth Stel."
It seemed like forever, but Mac said nothing afterwards.. He was just star gazing. Then, he lay down, his hands resting on his head, his tie (he really refused to remove his tie) askew, his legs outstretched.
Stella had already formulated ofsomething witty to say, but Mac went first.
"I love gazing at stars. They're so beautiful to look at. Even though they're far away, they're so beautiful."
Mac raised his hand, as if reaching for the stars. "Many people think that stars are just dots in the sky. But they accompany me everywhere I go. They're there when I'm sad, when I need company. I just love them."
It was final. Stella thought he was crazy.
"But to be honest, the star I love the most is the one closest to me."
Mac looked at Stella, who asked him, "You're a sun worshiper, aren't you?"
"I can't touch the sun Stella..." he sat up and faced her, a little closer in her opinion. "I want to be with my star, Stella..."
Stella was shocked, but he looked at her, and in one swift motion, kissed her on the lips. She could almost say he was being stupid, but it made her smile.
They broke off, and now they were gazing at the stars her head on his chest.
"You know Stel, as a kid, I wanted to touch a star..." Mac told her with a grin.
"Oh, you'll get that granted a little later..."
What did I say? Pure senseless fluff. Review senselessly/sensibly.
