Hey guys! First of all I wanna say thank you for all the feedback I received. I really appreciate it! As I mentioned before, Damon is going to be really dark in this one. You´ll get a first glimpse in this chapter but it will get even worse in the following ones. So if this is not your cup of tea, please turn away now. For all others: Enjoy!

Warnings: Physical violence, mind control, Damon is being an ass.

Elena felt paralyzed. She couldn´t believe that this was happening. She couldn´t believe that he had forced her to kiss him. What had happened to the Damon she knew, the one that actually cared? It was as if he had lost something with the revelation that Katherine didn´t love him. Something essential. It was as if he had simply snapped.

She felt Damon finally easing his grip on her, finally letting go off her. He took two steps backwards, as if to give her some space. Some part of Elena screamed at her to try and run away again but the more rational part knew that it was senseless. There was no way she was going to outrun him. At least not right now. No, she needed to be cleverer about this. Right now, she stood no chance but Damon couldn´t just lock her away. She needed to get through this and talk to Stefan. He would know what to do. She was sure he would safe her.

Elena hugged herself, feeling cold, while she tried to get herself together, to not give him the satisfaction. Anger, she thought. Anger would be an appropriate response to what he had just done to her. She put a glare on her face, thinking it was better than crying. Elena really hoped he could see how much she detested him right now. She hoped he understood that he had just destroyed everything that might have been between them.

To her annoyance Damon seemed to find her apparent anger amusing. "Oh, come on", he said with a roll of his eyes while he had the nerve to act as if nothing had happened. "Don´t give me this look. It´s not going to help you anyway."

Elena bit on her bottom lip while she tried to calm herself, while she tried to think objectively about this. "And how," she asked very slowly. "Do you want me to react? Should I be happy because you just fucking forced me to kiss you?"

Damon grinned. "Don´t lie, sweetheart. We both know how much you actually enjoyed the kiss."

"You compelled me to want to kiss you. What the hell did you expect?"

This actually did seem to get to Damon. Elena could literally watch his smile falling a bit. Maybe he really had thought that she enjoyed it? If yes, he was even more insane than she had thought. Anyway, Damon quickly had himself under control again.

He shrugged it away nonchalantly. "It doesn´t really matter anyway because you can believe me, I had a lot of fun." His smirk grew. "You taste even better than I imagined. Can´t wait to find out what your blood will be like."

This really pushed the anger right out of Elena, only leaving the fear. She slowly shook her head. "You don´t mean this," she whispered. Damon raised one eyebrow. "You have said this sentence an awfully lot of times this evening, Elena. Maybe you should just stop to judge what I would and wouldn´t do."

But Elena was still in denial, didn´t even want to hear a word he said. She shook her head slowly from one side to the other while she told herself that he was just trying to make her feel afraid. And he was succeeding.

Damon sighed after seeing her reaction. Before she could catch up, he had already walked closer to her again, just stopping half a meter away from her. "Maybe," he said with dark amusement clouding his voice. "I actually haven´t been that clear on how this is going to work," he admitted. "So, I´m going to cover this now. It would be good for you to listen really closely though, Elena, because I´m just going to tell you this once."

Elena took a deep breath. "Can´t wait", she scoffed which made Damon grin. "I can´t remember you being that sarcastic before. Must be my bad influence."

Elena just refused to comment this. When Damon realized that she wasn´t going to say something, he shrugged before turning around and walking in the direction of her kitchen. Elena´s eyes followed him in confusion. Just before he had reached the door he turned around to her again. "Come on, Elena. There is no need to have this talk here in the corridor. We can sit down and do it like civilized persons."

Elena wasn´t sure if he was joking right now. "Civilized my ass," she mumbled under her breath but of course Damon heard it anyway. She could hear him laugh while he opened the door to the kitchen for her and waited for her. Elena hesitated for a moment but knowing that she didn´t have much of a choice right now, she started to walk over to him anyway and entered the kitchen. Damon mentioned for her to sit and she did. Her head felt empty. She wasn´t sure what to expect. She wasn´t sure of anything anymore.

"Do you want something to drink? Water?" Damon asked her, while his blue eyes were looking down on her. "You do look a bit pale."

Another flash of anger was running through Elena while she glared at him. "And whose fault is that?"

"I guess you have a right to be angry," Damon said with a shrug. He went to the kitchenette and produced a glass, filling it with water before placing it right before Elena on the table. After that he plopped down on the chair opposite from her. He placed his elbows on the table in front of him and folded his hands before resting his chin on them. His eyes found hers and even though he looked respectively innocent, Elena felt herself shudder. She wondered if his eyes had always been this hunting, this dark. She wished he wouldn´t look at her at all.

"Go ahead, drink." Damon said but Elena didn´t want to. She kind of felt ill and was sure that drinking really wouldn´t solve any of her problems. This whole situation was simply fucked up, she thought. A few minutes ago, Damon had forced a kiss on her, and now they were sitting here in the kitchen as if nothing had happened. She couldn´t even start to figure out what Damon was thinking.

When she didn´t react, Damon raised an eyebrow.

Elena pushed the glass a few centimeters away from her. "I´m not thirsty," she replied, while she looked at him. She just wanted this to be over with. She hoped he would just tell her what he wanted to tell her and then finally go. She needed some time alone. Some time to think this whole situation through. Elena was convinced that there was an escape from this. There must be. Together with Stefan she had faced a lot of problems up to now and they had always managed to get out of it victoriously. This time would not be different.

Damon was still looking at her as if he was thinking about something. His eyes were as unreadable as ever. Very slowly he extended a hand and pushed the glass back in her direction before getting back into his old position. "I said drink."

Now Elena was really confused. What the hell was he playing at? She looked at the glass, then at Damon. "You know, you are making no sense right now, don´t you?" She asked. "I´m not going to faint, don´t worry."

Damon laughed. "Oh I´m not worried", he told her with amusement lacing his words.

"Then what is this about?" she asked, still totally at loss as to what he was playing at. Damon still seemed to have a lot of fun here.

His smirk grew downright devilish. "This, Elena," he said, fixing her with an intense stare. "…is about you learning some very important lesson for the future."

Elena could do nothing but look at him with a mixture of anger and fear.

"I told you the rules of the game have changed. From now on things are going to be a bit different. From this moment on, when I tell you to do something, I expect you to obey. No arguments, no hesitation." His eyes burned into her while he brought his message across. Then his eyes wandered back to the glass on the table. "Even if it is something as insignificant as to fucking drink."

Elena gulped. God, this thing got worse and worse with each minute that passed.

"And you think I am just going to be ok with this?" she asked him slowly, her voice clearly displaying the disbelieve she was feeling.

Damon shrugged. "No, not without some resistance, I guess."

Elena pressed her lips together. "Damn right. I am still not sure what the hell has gotten into you but if you really think that I am just going to back down and obey you, you honestly don´t know me at all."

For a moment it was quiet between them. Elena could watch as Damon very slowly untangles his hands and placed them on the table before him. His eyes were finding hers and the dark promise she saw in them made her breath hitch. His voice was neutral, calm as he spoke again. His words weren´t.

"You are right, I didn´t actually expected you to be simply ok with this." Damon admitted. "But as it is, you have only two options. Option one is that you accept that this is actually going to happen and start doing what you´re told." Elena huffed dismissively. Damon´s smile became cocky. "Or," he added, "option two: we are avoiding all the trouble and I am just going to compel you now and here." He smirked. "I´m sure you remember the way Caroline acted, don´t you? No matter what I did to her or how badly I treated her, she always came running right back to me, groveling at my feet. And you know why this was, Elena?" Damon was leaning closer to her over the table and Elena had to bring up all of her will power to not shy away from him. She had a sinking feeling on where he was heading with this and a feeling of horror was slowly starting to spread throughout her body.

"It was because she was convinced that she loved me, that I was "the one". He rolled his eyes and Elena felt overwhelmed by the evilness that was unfolding before her. "I´m sure it would actually be fun to see you all hopelessly in love with me, don´t you Elena? Can you imagine how it will be like, to be forced into something like this? I will not even have to force you to obey me, you will do it all by yourself, because it will be your top-priority to make me happy, to be as good as you possibly can so that I will love you back."

Elena stared at Damon in horror, couldn´t believe what she was hearing. Her heart was beating so fast that she could feel it painfully hitting her chest and her breath was going rapidly. Suddenly she had problems getting air in her lungs, felt as if she was suffocating. She knew her face must have drained of all color and this time she really felt as if she was going to faint.

Damon seemed to enjoy her reaction. He smirked. "Well, it seems as if you finally understand your situation princess. I´m not joking around. Not this time. You know, for me both options have their appeal but since I am not a total monster, I am going to give you a choice. You can either start to behave yourself around me or I am going to compel you and then you are going to do it anyway, admittingly with much less control. What will it be. Elena?"

Elena´s mind was swirling while she faced this new situation. She knew Damon expected her to answer but her brain felt blank. She could feel a puckering headache forming just behind her skull. All she wanted to do was close her eyes and pretend that this wasn´t happening. You need to get a grip, Elena, she told herself, trying desperately to fight down the panic his words had evoked deep within her. There certainly was a way out of this, she argued silently. She just needed some time to think. Some time without Damon. But he wouldn´t go before he had what he wanted, that much was clear to Elena. I need to at least control the damage, she thought desperately. She couldn´t let Damon compel her like this, that much was clear. If he really compelled her to love him, she wouldn´t be able to try and find a way out of this afterwards. No, what she really needed was to remain in control of herself. Option number two was not even a real option. She had to take option number one, even though the thought of submitting to Damon, even if it was only for the moment, let bile rise inside of her stomach. You just have to get through this evening, some voice in her head told her and Elena silently agreed. She could do this, she thought. She was strong enough. So, even if she hated it, she knew she had to play his game.

For just another second, Elena looked at Damon, hoping to find something of the Damon she knew there, but he was just looking coldly at her, patiently waiting for her to make her decision. She was so going to kick his ass for this, Elena thought, before slowly extending a hand to the glass that was still standing before her on the table. Her hands were shaking when she guided it to her mouth to take a deep gulp. Her eyes wandered to Damon whose only reaction was to raise an eyebrow. Elena silently cursed him before downing the rest of the water in one gulp. She banged the empty glass on the table, before shooting Damon a challenging look.

His laugh echoed through the kitchen. "Even while submitting you are still so damn willful," he said, looking as if he had the fun of his live here. "Anyway, good choice. Even though the thought of you begging me to fuck you is quite appealing, I actually like your character so much that it would have been a shame to compel it away." He pushed his chair away from the table, while still watching her. "Plus", he added. "I think we will get to the point of you begging me to fuck you anyway, even though it might take some more time."

Elena´s hands trembled. "The only way I am going to have sex with you is when you rape me," she mumbled, intent on pointing this out to him. She had expected a lot of reaction from Damon after hearing her words, but not the total indifference she could see in his eyes. "We will just have to see," was all he said to her before patting with his hand on his legs. "Now, come here."

Elena stared at him, unsure what to do. This was all such a nightmare, she thought with desperation. Damon waited for a moment but when Elena still was not making any attempt to move, he sighed, before fixing her with a very serious stare. "Last chance Elena. Come here or I swear to you that I am going to compel you. I might like it better when you chose to submit instead of not having a choice, but as I already told you I am tired of waiting. I am going to have you, one way or the other. Decide now."

Elena stared at him, before submitting to her fate and slowly standing up. Oh how she would love to hurt him, she thought darkly, while she made her way over to him. Maybe it would be a good idea to actually attack, she thought. If she would just be able to beat him unconscious, she would have time to call Stefan and he would make this ok again. But even though the thought was tempting, Elena was aware that she didn´t have a weapon to go through with it. The only thing in her reach was the empty glass and even she wasn´t as stupid as to believe that she would be able to beat him unconscious like this. And who knew what he would do afterwards? No, it wouldn´t be worth the risk. Just be patient Elena, she told herself.

Elena stopped right before Damon, looking questioningly at him. She could watch him pat his lap. "Come on, sit down."

Elena felt humiliated by this but tried to take it with just as much as pride as she was able to. Just as she was about to lower herself, she saw Damon shaking his head. "No not like this, the other way around."

Elena looked at him for a moment before nodding and turning around. She sat down, facing Damon and straddling his legs. He smiled and put his hands around her back, effectively keeping her in place. For a moment he looked at her, a small smile gracing his lips, before he slowly leaned forwards, pulling Elena in his direction in the same time. In this position she had no choice but to hug him. She sat stiffly as Damon leaned against her, burying his nose in her hair and inhaling deeply. Elena could feel his hands making small circle motions on her back while he pressed her against him, cuddling her in the process. She could feel the side of his face against hers and although all of his actions were nothing but gentle, affectionate even, she wished she could be everywhere but here. "Damon," she breathed, not sure what she could say to make him back away from her. "Hush", she heard him mumble lowly against her ear, while his hands were still caressing her. "Just be quite for a moment princess. Let me enjoy this a bit." Elena´s body stiffened but otherwise she remained silent. Never before in her life had she felt so used. She closed her eyes and imagined her somewhere, anywhere else. Moments passed by, then minutes and the longer they stayed in this position the more suffocated Elena felt. Would he never let her go, she thought? But just as she thought she really wouldn´t be able to take it any longer, Damon finally, finally leaned away. When he looked at her, he wore the most content expression she had ever seen on him. "You cannot imagine how long I wanted to just hold you like this. Even before the thing with Katherine…" He shook his head and smiled at her with nothing but happiness shining in his eyes.

It was this unfiltered happiness that somehow gave Elena the rest. Without being able to stop it, she felt tears starting to spill from her eyes. All the desperation that had built up in the last hour was finally taking over and Elena felt the tears fell down her eyes, running down her cheeks without being able to stop it.

Damon´s smile never even stopped, while he slowly patted the tears away as if this all was totally normal. "I know this is tuff for you right now," he told her. "But you´ll get used to it."

Elena was still sobbing. "Ho…How can you..e ev even say that you love m… me when you are ok with using me… like this?" she brought out between her tears. "How ca…can you hurt me like this?"

Damon smiled while he used both of his hand to pat away her tears before cupping her face with both of his hands. "I think you are confusing something here, dear. I never said that I love you. What I do, Elena, is want you. Everything of you. And I frankly don´t really care if I hurt you in the progress as long as I get what I want."

Elena stared at him and felt cold. Something had really changed, she thought. She was absolutely positive that the Damon she knew wouldn´t deliberately do something to hurt her. She clearly remembered the look he had given her from time to time. No, she had not been blind to it…and she had known what it meant, had known this Damon, this old Damon had cared for her deeply. But the person she was now facing somehow had nothing in common with this old Damon. Ok, that was not quite right, she admitted. There were a lot of things that were still the same, it was more as if something was missing. Something essential. And unfortunately, when this new Damon told her that he didn´t care if he hurt her or not Elena believed him without a doubt. She really was in deep shit.

Damon smirked at her. "Ah, finally you seem to understand," he said joyfully. "About time."

Elena bit on her bottom lip while thinking over the options she had right now. She tried to calm down as much as possible before speaking again. "Ok Damon, I get it. You wanted me and you got me. You caught me off guard with all this, I have to give it to you. But you must understand that right now it is really difficult for me to deal with everything. I just need…I mean can you just give me some time to…come to term with this?" She looked at him with her best puppy dog eyes, hoping that he at least had some tiny spark of mercy left within him. "I really can´t take more of this. Not tonight, anyway."

For a moment Damon seemed to be undecided then, to Elena´s big relief, he finally nodded. "I guess this is not asked too much," he finally replied. Elena felt relief flooding her body by hearing that he didn´t plan on staying tonight. She hadn´t allowed herself to think of this possibility yet, but now that she was sure he would leave her alone, she realized that she had been worried. Very worried.

She pushed out her breath and almost managed a small smile. "Thank you."

Damon returned the smile before slowly starting to play with her hair, wrapping a strand around his finger. "but before I go, there is one last thing I need to do." Almost immediately Elena felt her body tense again. She looked at him with worry in her eyes. "And what is this?"

"Well, since I´m pretty sure that the thoughts in this pretty little head of yours are already spinning around the question of how you are going to get out of this, I thought it might make sense to make this as difficult for you as somehow possible."

Almost in the moment the words had left his mouth, Elena already knew what he was planning. Without even thinking about it, she had already closed her eyes tightly because the last thing she wanted was for him to compel her.

She could hear Damon tsk disapprovingly. "And I thought we had already set the ground rules," he said, before slightly shaking her. "Come on, Elena, open your eyes."

She shook her head no stubbornly. "You said, you wouldn´t compel me, if I obeyed you," she argued but Damon only laughed. "No, I said, that I wouldn´t compel you to love me. I haven´t said a word about anything else. And Elena, believe me, this is going to happen. Stop being stubborn."

But Elena wasn´t even thinking about it. The only hope that had kept her going, was to be able to tell Stefan about this and watch him kick Damon´s ass. She knew Damon well enough to understand that he would know how to avoid this. She simply couldn´t open her eyes. Anyway, Elena wasn´t quite expecting the length to which Damon would go to get what he wanted. She suddenly felt him grip one of her hands and screamed out in surprise and pain when she felt him bend it behind her body, pulling her fingers in the direction of her back, bending it as far as it would go. And even then he didn´t release the pressure but just pulled a bit stronger, eliciting a painful moan from Elena. "What are you doing?" she whimpered while feeling pain shooting through her wrist. "Well," she heard Damon´s collected voice. "My patience is really running extremely thin right now Elena. So this is what is going to happen. Either you are a good girl and stop this silly resistance or I am going to break your wrist. And if you then still decide to be stubborn, I am going to continue with your other one and maybe then your feet. You know, I honestly don´t really care. In fact, I can always heal you afterwards just to start all over again." As if to underline his words Damon increased the pressure he was applying on her wrist and Elena screamed. She was sure that he meant what he said. Just a little more and her wrist would break. She had no clue how to fight this. How to fight him when he acted like this.

"I´m growing tired", Damon growled and finally Elena knew she had no choice but to give in. With a beaten whimper she opened her eyes, looking at Damon desperately. Almost immediately the pressure on her wrist disappeared and she could feel Damon patting her head as if she was a dog or something. "Good girl."

Elena growled angrily at him by hearing his words which made Damon laugh in amusement. In the next second she could feel Damon´s finger under her chin, pointing her head up to him and making her look in his eyes. Elena felt the intense urge to close her eyes again, but she somehow just knew that it was senseless. He would get what he wanted. Damon smirked at her before focusing. Elena could watch his eyes contradict and this feeling of being unable to look away overcame her again. Oh, how she hated this.

"Ok Elena," she could hear. His voice sounded as if it was miles away. "You are not going to tell anyone about what had happened here today or what will happen between us in the future in any way. You will not try to get help and you will not even think about giving hints about this or anything related to it. And just to be more clear. This is going to be our little secret and you will do everything you can to keep it a secret between just the two of us. Do you understand me?"

Elena nodded. "I understand. I will keep it a secret." Someone said but Elena wasn´t even sure if these had been her own words. She was somehow lost in the depth of his eyes. Damon smiled at her and she could feel him caress the side of her face. "And since I know you," he continued. "I think I will add some extra things as well. Hmm… let´s see. Just to be sure that I´m not going to wake up with a stake in my heart, you will also not try to kill me. That would be unfortunate." He grinned. "Not that I really think you could pull that off, but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry, don´t you?"

He released the compulsion and Elena glared at him. "Believe me, after tonight I do have the sudden desire to kill you," she muttered.

Damon raised his eyebrows. "Maybe I shouldn´t have compelled you not to do it," he replied with amusement. "it might have been quite a sexy sight, you going all hellcat on me."

Elena shot him a dark look, hating that he was still talking as if this was all a big joke. "Unfortunately, you wouldn´t be able to enjoy it because you would be…you know…dead." She threw him a sweet smile which was dripping with sarcasm, before pushing herself up and finally away from him.

She had already crossed half off the kitchen when she heard Damon´s voice. "And where do you think you are going?"

Elena turned around to him with a sigh. The headache she felt had grown stronger and all she wanted was to be away from him. "You promised you would leave me alone tonight," she reminded him softly. "So please do it… or don´t your promises mean anything either now?"

For a moment Damon stared at her, then he nodded. "No, you are right, I did promise to leave you alone. Go ahead. I will see myself out."

Elena nodded thankfully. She had to do her best to not sprint to the kitchen door to finally be away from him. Just before she had left the room, she again heard Damon´s voice, holding her back. "Ah Elena, I almost forgot," he said, forcing her to turn around to him again. "I did allow you some time to think," he told her. "But…you really don´t want to know what happens when I find out that you thought it a good idea to sneak out tonight and talk to Stefan. I know you have this overwhelming urge to go and talk to him since he has just gotten over his bloodthirst episode…but this is not going to happen tonight. Do you understand me?"

For a moment she looked at Damon before she slowly nodded. She wouldn´t be able to tell Stefan anything anyway and when Elena was really honest to herself, she simply didn´t have the strength for it right now anyway. She felt more exhausted than ever before in her life and all she really wanted to do was to curl up in her bed. She looked at Damon one last time, before finally leaving the kitchen and fleeing to her bedroom.

Oh ha! What do you think? Is there a way for Elena to get out of this compulsion? Don´t forget to leave a review:) Kisses :*
