Biography:
After the apparent death of Metropolis' Superman at the hands of the monstrous Doomsday, scientist John Henry Irons wore a highly advanced suit of powered armor of his own design to continue fighting the Man of Tomorrow's war against oppression and crime. He named himself 'Steel' and helped the Eradicator, Supergirl and the new Superboy battle the bloodthirsty Cyborg Superman until the return of the real Kal-El.
Upon his return to Metropolis, Superman quickly accepted Steel as one of his closest companions in crimefighting, and Irons also supported him with technical and scientific support.
For a brief time after being physically incapacitated, Irons handled the mantle of Steel to his young niece Natasha, who could also be summoned in the Caster class.
Class Skills:
Territory Creation: B
One of the two main Skills defining the Caster class and those belonging to it. It is the Skill to build a special terrain that is advantageous to oneself as a magus, such as for the purpose of collecting mana.
This Caster, despite not being a magus, can easily transform any given area into an engineering laboratory fitting his needs, given enough time. The amount of time required for such an enterprise depends on how many resources he has at his disposal to work with.
The ultimate manifestation of this Skill and the related achievements Caster reached in life is expressed through his Noble Phantasm (see below).
Item Construction: A
One of two defining Skills for the Caster class. It is the Skill to manufacture magical or technological items, from implements of war to items for daily use. Also, this Skill requires time to gather components and manufacture items.
While this particular Caster is no sorcerer or has any functional knowledge of magic, he is one of the greatest scientific minds of his era and can easily develop tools and weapons with effects that can rival or even surpass most magical implements. This is a sign of the Modern Era of Man asserting itself over the classic era ruled by the supernatural.
Personal Skills:
Legacy of Superman: B
Along with Supergirl, Superboy, Superwoman, the Alpha Centurion and Superdog, Steel was one of Superman's faithful partners and emissaries of justice and goodwill across the planet. His legend may overlap and be mistaken occasionally with that of the actual Kryptonian, despite him being Earthly in origin. That will lend him a minor Star-related rank, adding the advantages of that Attribute to his own Man-related one, without suffering any of the penalties related to the Star affiliation.
Also, Caster will be instantly recognized as a force of good wherever he goes. He gains a Bravery bonus when fighting Chaotic Evil enemies, although Lawful Evil foes may stump him as they expose their own philosophies and contrast them against his own values. This is a potential psychological weakness that can be exploited by others.
Urban Crusader: D
Moreso than Superman or any other members of the 'Superfamily', Steel was forged by an urban environment and finds himself at greater ease fighting within a city. He also can take and grab pieces of technology found in an urban environment and combine them for his greater advantage, supporting his Item Construction.
As befits this aspect of his nature, Caster's primary weapon in battle is a modified, high tech sledgehammer he can throw after programming it to hit a determinate target- even shifting course through the air if necessary- and return to his hand upon command. His armor also packs a wrist-mounted rivet gun.
Social Revolution: E
Caster started his crusade partially out of a personal feeling of guilt from his creation of high technology weapons for the United States army, weaponry that later found its way to criminal organizations. One of these weapons, nicknamed 'the Toastmaster', killed a young boy before Irons' own eyes, prompting him to abandon his job and move to the 'Suicide Slum' ghetto of Metropolis, where he became a social activist.
Caster has an influential voice when addressing poor and oppressed communities and can efficiently rally them together into action against the odds, with an effect comparable to that of a low ranking Charisma. The effect is increased to D if he will unmask for those he is addressing. If, besides that, the community happens to be mostly or completely populated by Africans or Afro Americans, the rank will increase to A.
Noble Phantasm:
Steel Works- Fortress of Science and Development: A
Anti-Fortress.
The Noble Phantasm, upon summoning, brings into existence a copy of the Metropolis laboratory Caster designed in life, through a partnership with Professor Emil Hamilton. Located in a formerly abandoned Suicide Slums factory, Steelworks is an advanced industrial design factory able of developing and employing metahuman-control technology like cannons and projectile launchers for use in warfare operations.
Steelworks is not mobile and it can only be used wherever it is summoned, but its weapons have a long range and can be launched across the equivalent range of a major metropolitan city in the late 29th century or early 21th century. It also can be used to hold captives and prisoners within several high security cells housed within its basements.
This Noble Phantasm demands a very large amount of mana to be deployed, plus it only can be activated once every two days at most.
Summon: "Servant Caster. Sorry that you couldn't summon the actual Superman, but... Did you plan it this way? Ah, very well then."
Start of Battle: "Time to lay the hammer down!"
"Let's see if we can fix this!"
"For truth! For justice! For the American way!"
"I'm warning you! Back off or else!"
Victory: "Don't say I didn't warn you!"
"We've got a regular Justice League here!"
"Don't rest yet! The battle is never ending after all!"
"I wouldn't be worth this cape if I didn't try!"
"Okay. The armor is functioning at its fullest..."
Defeat: "Doomsday...! Gotta stop Doomsday...!"
"I'm not worthy of this symbol."
"I'm sorry... I tried my best..."
Defeat by Noble Phantasm: "Ah. For a man of science, to explore the great beyond..."
Noble Phantasm Activation: "Authorizing the access. Relaying orders to open the installations. It is done! STEELWORKS!"
Extra Dialogue:
"Luthor? Well, this shouldn't surprise me. He's always been an opportunist, but he also has some sense of self preservation. Be careful though, Master. This is one of the worst snakes you'll ever meet..." (When you have Caster or Berserker Lex Luthor).
"Bizarro! Oh, damn, this, I don't need! I never could understand his demented kind of 'logics'!" (When you have Berserker Bizarro).
"Hmmm? Well, this... I don't know what to say, really... The Renaissance Man? It's an honor, of course, but... I'm not a man of arts, it'll take me a while to get used to this appearance..." (When you have Caster or Rider Leonardo Da Vinci).
"Oh, you've gotta be kidding me...!" (When you have Caster Thomas Alva Edison).
"Superman? Superman, I'm so glad to- Wait a minute! You aren't him!" (When you have Berserker Ultraman).
Birthday: "Hey, happy birthday. Why don't you take the day off? You've been through a lot of stress of late..."
Event: "Let me handle this. I think I can learn a lot from this place."
Holy Grail: "If I must be honest? I'd like to take that thing to a laboratory and study it as best as I can. Although that's not my exact field of expertise..."
To be Continued.
