Biography:
Otto Gunther Octavius was born from a family of Germanic origins. His father, Torbert, was abusive and violent towards both Otto and his mother Mary. Otto was determined not to become like his father and put all his effort into his education, regularly scoring top marks. Unfortunately, a combination of Otto's shyness, pudgy looks and good school work turned him into a frequent target of bullying.
Regardless, Otto eventually became a brilliant and respected nuclear physicist, atomic research consultant, inventor, and lecturer. One of his most iconic inventions was a set of highly advanced mechanical arms controlled via a mind–computer interface to assist him with his research into atomic physics. Unfortunately, there was an accidental radiation leak that ended in a massive explosion, and those arms became fused to Octavius's body.
Driven insane by his ordeal, Octavius tried to take over the gangs of New York and even the world, embarking in a criminal life constantly thwarted by the amazing Spider-Man, who became his irrationally hated and despised foe. Octavius also was a frequent member of the criminal team known as the Sinister Six, including variable lineups that brought him in contact with the Green Goblin, Hobgoblin, Venom, Kraven the Hunter, the Sandman, Electro, Rhino, Shocker, Mysterio, the Vulture, the Chameleon, the Scorpion and the Lizard (all of them also summonable as Anti Heroic Spirits).
Class Skills:
Magic Resistance: D
Lancer has a very low rank at Magic Resistance for his Class. In life, he was just as vulnerable to magecraft and spells as anyone else, but he gains an extra rank as a Servant due to his incredulity on the supernatural grafting onto his Saint Graph, allowing him brief invulnerability to mild spells through sheer stubbornness and strength of will.
Otherwise, the Servant only has the absolute minimum granted by the Class container for the rank purposes of this summon.
Territory Creation: A
One of the two main Skills defining the Caster class and those belonging to it. It is the Skill to build a special terrain that is advantageous to oneself as a magus, such as for the purpose of collecting mana.
Due to the circumstances of his Dual Summon Skill (see below) this Servant has a highly advantageous Territory Creation. Much like other modern Servants, Lancer can develop technology that might as well surpass the practical effects of magic, including highly dangerous hideouts, laboratories and workshops protected by multitude of death traps, where he and his Master can fortify themselves.
Item Construction: A
One of two defining Skills for the Caster class. It is the Skill to manufacture magical or technological items, from implements of war to items for daily use. Also, this Skill requires time to gather components and manufacture items.
Lancer was the top radiation expert of his time, even surpassing prodigy minds like Reed Richards and Victor von Doom, but only in this field. Regardless, he is also a skilled expert in Robotics, aerodynamics, explosives, electronics, physics in general, and even minor surgery.
Personal Skills:
Dual Summon: B
A special Skill through which a Servant can employ Skills from two Classes at once. In this case, Octavius, a scientist through all of his adult life, is primarily classified as a Caster, but through his summoning he has seen fit to manifest as a Lancer and take advantage of the Skills belonging to both Classes.
How is this even possible? It is for the best not to ask him.
Adamantium Tentacles: A
Lancer's main weapons in direct combat, and the trait that granted his Saint Graph access to the Lancer Class on a technicality.
Originally derived from the titanium harness Octavius wore as a nuclear physicist, and which was fused to his body in a brutal explosion, these four arms were replaced by a much stronger adamantium harness, virtually invulnerable against cutting force and able to wallop even the Incredible Hulk (also summonable as a Berserker) around.
If the tentacles are ripped apart from his body, Lancer is briefly stunned and will retreat into a docile state where he will try to escape without fighting, at first. Eventually he will regain enough presence of mind and, if he has survived to this point, he can will the tentacles back, grafting them again to his back. A second separation will result in the loss of the adamantium extra arms, replaced by the original titanium versions with a B- decreased strength.
Both varieties of the tentacles can spray lethal acidic chemicals that corrode through most metals but adamantium and vibranium. They also possess a limited degree of self awareness and basic thought, as they have been programmed by an artificial intelligence that prods into Lancer's mind, further pulling him into evil. With a high enough Bond level, Lancer can be made to ignore this corrupting influence as well as the darkness in his own soul.
The tentacles can release powerful electric discharges upon contact. They also allow Lancer to stick to hard horizontal or vertical surfaces, enabling him to perform feats of wall-climbing comparable to those of Spider-Man himself.
Noble Phantasm:
Superior Heroic Spirit- Lifetheft: A
Anti-Unit, only applicable towards sentient enemies and not against objects.
The Noble Phantasm only can be used when Lancer is very close to death, and his body is on the verge of collapse or destruction. Mere physical or even visual contact with the Servant who has caused his destruction will initiate a process to download Lancer's consciousness into that of his enemy. At the same time, the enemy Servant's own awareness and sense of self will be pulled into Lancer's agonizing physical form to perish.
This procedure cannot be applied on living human beings or any Servant but the one who has inflicted enough damage upon Lancer as to destroy him. If several Servants have cooperated on the task, however, any of them can be targeted for the effects of this Noble Phantasm.
Only Servants with an extremely high sense of self and mental fortitude, such as Archer Gilgamesh and Doctor Doom, can resist and shrug off the effects of this Noble Phantasm, blocking it completely.
After entering the enemy Servant's container, Lancer keeps his personality and keeps his Caster skills, adding them to those the host body already possessed. All other Skills are lost, however. The Noble Phantasm cannot be used a second time.
Summon: "Greetings. I am Otto Octavius... Lancer... known as Doctor Octopus to the great unwashed and uneducated! Do not be lulled into a false sense of security by the extra poundage I carry! Spider-Man, Daredevil and even Captain America himself have sufficient reason to respect my battle process!"
Start of Battle: "You are a worse nuisance than that accursed Spider-Man - and I will not brook nuisances!"
"Very well. Let us do this."
"Mine is the energy of an atom, born of a nuclear accident!"
Victory: "What you fail to understand about Earth... about human beings... is that we will fight to the end. We will use every weapon at our command. And if those fail - we will use yours!"
"You fail to even compare! But then, how could you ever begin to?"
"Squashed... like the insect you are!"
"It could have been another way..."
Defeat: "I will not die a monster!"
"S-Shut up. Shut up, you. Let me... Think in peace..."
"I hate you...!"
"Kkk-"
Defeat by Noble Phantasm: "I shall return. I always do...! Always!"
Noble Phantasm Activation: "Farewell, me. For you are not yourself anymore. From now on I am you. I have all of your memories. I know everything you knew. I have your life and everything that comes with it. And you are now Otto Octavius. With what little time you have left... trapped in that broken body!"
Extra Dialogue:
"Peter. It is good to see you, dear boy..." (When you have Caster or Archer Spider-Man).
"Norman? Norman, no... I know what you're about to do..." (When you have Rider Green Goblin).
"The Renaissance Man! What a splendid jest! Of course, I would know a thing or two about assuming another's identity, but... you have clearly taken another approach..." (When you have Caster, Ruler, Archer or Rider Leonardo Da Vinci).
"Luthor. What do you want now, Luthor? Yes, of course I remember you. You don't remember me? How curious..." (When you have Caster or Berserker Lex Luthor).
"Ah, Edison. Is that really him? Such a ridiculous appearance! Well, it befits a charlatan of his level, that much is undeniable." (When you have Caster Thomas Alva Edison).
"Youngster, beware. That is Von Doom! He will betray us all inevitably!" (When you have Caster Doctor Doom).
Birthday: "A birthday? A meaningless date. Work, work, work. Don't be lazy! If you have got time for celebrations, you also have time to spare for your work!"
Event: "Such frivolities. Let us make a science fair out of this."
Holy Grail: "Ah. What to wish from such an artifact, indeed? The power of a Sun in the palm of my hand? Power, honor, riches beyond imagining? The end of Earth as we know it, so I can live on forever as humanity's greatest foe? Or the returning touch of a female? We will see! First, we will dissect and analyze it!"
To be Continued.
