Prologue
"Where is it? Where is it?!"
It was night time with hard winds blowing around the place sending shiverings to those unlucky enough to be outside.
"No it's not here either."
But that wasn't a matter for the woman carrying a shovel digging holes around the terrain with only her oil lamp giving her enough vision to look around.
"C'mon it's supposed to be here." She growled as she quickly continued to move the dirt on a new place not so far from the last hole she dug.
"Yes! Yes!" she almost screamed of joy when her shovel hit something hollow, and immediately started to dig quickly around the place she had found what she was looking for. After a few minutes she dropped the shovel and jumped into the now bigger hole removing the dirt with her own hands.
"For once They weren't lying, color me surprised."
What she had dug out was a brown chest with a big lockpick in the center. She grabbed one of it's handles and with all her force started to drag it out of the hole. It took a lot of minutes that for her felt like hours when the chest was finally outside of the hole when a loud thunder resounded in the sky followed by a bolt of lighting.
The woman paying no attention to that continued dragging the chest with all her force towards the interior of a building, the room from a manor whose oil lamp illuminated the room among the darkness.
With every step she advanced dragging the chest she could feel as if her breath was leaving her body thanks to the great effort she was doing. She was half away from the road when water started pouring above her and the sounds of thunder and lighting became more fierce.
She kicked open the door after more minutes and dragged the chest inside closing the door.
In the room there were already two maids waiting for her, not paying attention to her figure all soaked and tired.
"T-take..." She coughed a little, almost tumbling herself on the floor thanks to her tiredness. "Take this thing to the basement...and and I want you in my studio when you are done."
She left the room tumbling not waiting for the answer of the maids. She exited the room and walked down a hallway until she arrived at a set of stairs which she slowly climbed to the second floor of the manor.
When she arrived at her room she slammed the door shut and walked to her night table. She took out a piece of paper and pen and started writing at full speed immediately filling one of the papers and moving into the next one repeating the same process for five minutes until she put down her pen. She took out an envelope and quickly stuffed the papers inside of it when she heard a noise of her door opening.
"Good to see you finished."
She turned around, finding inside the two maids quietly waiting for her. She threw the envelope to them with one of the maids catching it.
"Take this to her, no matter what, make sure that she reads this word for word and prepare the enough accomodations for her and her…" she sighed heavily. "Companion. I'll be down in the basement making the final arrangements and talking with the idiot these next few minutes."
"How do you know she will answer your calling so easily? Last time she was here she bowed to never come back." Asked the maid without the envelope watching at the woman with an intense stare on her. The woman from her part laughed, shifting her glance to those unmoving eyes over her.
"I know her very well even after all those years since she lived in this manor, I know what she said the moment she left but not matter how many time she denies it, now and forever the bond we share is unbreakable and it's something she will learn the moment she sets her foot back at this place. Now go, you have your last mission from my part. You are free to go whenever you want to."
"What about you mistress?"
"I think I told you already, I have to talk with the idiot and prepare everything in the basement, they plan I'll go down easy the moment they come here knocking down my door, I'll show them how wrong they are."
So yeah i made this second fic around here this time being more of a oneshot, next chapter will explain more details about it but for now I will say this is an AU set very different from the original re:zero plot so if you enjoyed leave a comment and favorite and all of that.
