Disclaimer: I don't own "Bones"
Seely walked around Temperance's office nervously. He stopped, shuffled his feet, then paced back and forth. The anthropologist had been busy on her computer, when she turned and looked into his direction. There was silence in the room as her fingers suddenly stopped hitting the keyboard.
He smiled his crooked smile of his and stood still. She nodded at him. Again, she continued hitting her keyboard, this time rapidly and hard pressed. She had hoped it muffled the loud pounding of her heartbeat.
"Heavy on the hands, aren't we?" He laid his hand over hers. Her heart skipped a bit. Somehow, their hands belonged together.
Bravely, he turned her chair to face him. Booth crouched down in front of her.
"Bones...uh, Temp", he said her name nervously.
"What?" She answered in barely a whisper.
"Could we talk?"
Something told her it was not their usual conversations of bones or criminal investigations. She leaned back in her chair and focused on her office door.
His fingers lightly touched her shoulder, her hair on the back of her neck stood up. She closed her eyes, then felt a squeeze on her knees.
"Did I get your attention?" He asked as he grinned at her.
Temperance felt trapped, for there was no way that could she have gotten out of that situation. She knew he had wanted to talk about them. She was not ready for their talk about their inner deep feelings towards each other, that she nearly pushed him aside. The ringing of her telephone saved her from her predicament. She reached for it, when he took hold of her hand.
"Don't answer that. Let it go," Booth mumbled, but after the seventh ring, he cussed under his breath and picked up the telephone.
"We're busy," he answered abruptly and hung up.
"Booth, did you even know who you were talking to?" She queried.
He shrugged. "Don't care."
"I said I needed to talk to you," he said impatiently. He sat on the edge of her desk.
Temperance raised her voice. "Ok, what?" She asked as she looked down at the floor.
"I'm up here, Tempe." He placed his finger under her chin. "Us, about us."
She immediately turned and pulled away from him.
"Tempe? Hey, will you look at me?" He raised his voice.
"I have been for the longest time, Seely," she blurted out unexpectedly as she gazed into his eyes.
"Oh," was his only reply. He smiled as he lowered his face down to hers.
"You needed to talk to me, Booth?"
"Never mind," he whispered, "I got my answer." That long awaited kiss finally happened. He pulled her out of her chair and embraced her tenderly. There was so much passion which built up in just that one kiss in that single moment. Their kiss was so explosive, no one had wanted to come up for air.
The End
